Does hypnosis smoking work? Can you quit smoking this way? -

so i was speaking with a friend and he suggested hypnosis smoking in order to quit smoking but i-m not really sure I want to try that...What do you think?
Like many others I smoked when I was young but managed to kick the habit before I was totally hooked, I was lucky and suffered no damage to my health. But for a close friend it was different, even though she was only a moderate smoker, her health was being seriously affected and getting worse with time. Now this is where I really sympathize with smokers. She like many smokers knew the dangers and had genuinely tried many different ways to quit smoking. She tried patches, hypnosis and read several books on the subject of quitting, nothing had worked. She always ended back at square one, knowing she needed to quit, but how, nothing had a lasting effect. That was until she tried Smoke Deter.

So why am I telling this, because I played a small part in her success. You see I heard about Smoke Deter through my son, his best mate had quit smoking using Smoke Deter and I convinced my friend to try it. She was very skeptical, but I was so concerned about her health that I said that if it didn-t work I would pay for it, so she had nothing to lose and that convinced her. That was a year and five months ago, it worked and she is no longer a smoker, she has never has the urge to smoke since she quit using Smoke Deter, that-s a fact and it-s the only product she tried that she-s happy to tell others about.

Smoke Deter is an herbal based liquid oral spray that is used 3 times a day, this is also supplemented with herbal pills which when combined is very effective at reducing your nicotine cravings. How quickly it works depends on the extent of your habit, it can work as quickly as 2 weeks or may take 3 months, regardless of the time, your health is worth the effort to kick your smoking habit.

It-s worth noting that Smoke Deter is safe, natural and has no known side effect and no known drug interactions. It-s highly rated on many stop-smoking product review sites, often with genuine testimonials from people that have also kicked the smoking habit using it. So I am not the only one that knows Smoke Deter gets the desired result.

Smoke Deter also offers a lifetime free membership support program, so you are never on your own, help is available 24 hours a day if you feel the need, like if your resolve is weakening. There is also a free Stop Smoking Relaxation Audio MP3 available, it might not be for everybody but my friend said it was definitely a help to her, it changed the way she thought about smoking. That-s what I like about Smoke Deter it changes your whole attitude to smoking, it works on your mind as well as your body. Unfortunately I-ve seen the damage smoking has done within my own family and also in my circle of friends, consequently I-m fully aware just how hard it is to stop smoking without some kind of help. I-ve seen first hand how Smoke Deter helped my friend quit smoking and so it-s not surprising she can-t say enough about it. So if this article brings Smoke Deter to your attention and as a result helps you kick the smoking habit, then for me writing about it has been worthwhile.

So if you-ve been wondering if these quit smoking products work, well I guess some do and some don-t, but one that has my recommendation is Smoke Deter, I-ve personally seen it work when other methods failed. I-m happy to pass that information on so that others looking for a safe natural way to quit can try Smoke Deter if they wish.

If you would like more helpful information on Smoke Deter or other free quit smoking information, you may like to visit the source link below - It seems to confirm some of my comments and is dedicated to helping smokers improve their health, fitness and beat the smoking habit.
The key factor when considering quitting smoking is deciding whether you really want to quit. If you do there-s lots of help out there. If you don-t, then nothing is going to do the quitting for you...

Hypnosis helps some people to quit smoking. Research has shown that it is about as effective as other methods (such as nicotine replacement therapy or counselling). It has been found to be superior when compared to doing nothing (evidence here:
http://www.hypnosisandsuggestion.org/smo…

I recommend cutting down gradually until your quit date. I did this. I cut down to half a pack. I did this for three months. I smoked by the puff, not by the cigarette. I took only the amount of nicotine that was necessary to satisfy my urge to smoke and put the rest of the cigarette out.

After doing this for three months I quit cold turkey.

Now I-m eating more candy to distract me but its been 10 months. I have urges but they don-t last more than a second or two. If they-re lasting more than that then you-re concentrating on the cigarette. Don-t do it. Concentrate on something else.
Hypnosis is the most efficient way to change the programming in your subconscious mind. A computer only is able to act in the way it is programmed. Your mind is similar to a computer.
it can work, but don-t go to the self-hypnosis seminars, I don-t know anyone that has quit using this method. I have met people who have gone to a hypnotherapist who have quit. they do the hypnotizing and you don-t do it yourself.
Yes, it works. I know lots of people that quit that way.

How can you get someone to quit smoking without them even knowing it? -

My daddy smokes and me and my siblings are always trying to convince him to quit, he has a couple of times but then he just lit up again! Now.... We are talking about doing something to help him quit.... but without him even knowing it! Please Help!!!!!!!!!
If you are under 21, have an adult make this purchase for you: The electronic cigarette. It offers smokers the ability to change their habit instead of quitting. If your dad is like most smokers, it isn-t just the nicotine that he is addicted to, but the action. Think of all of the things you love to do that you could do without: texting, talking on the phone, drinking a soda. Now imagine that someone demands you quit!

The electronic cigarette provides the user with nicotine and still allows them to participate in the action of smoking. They can smoke anywhere they want, around whomever they want because the e-cig produces a vapor instead of second hand smoke.

If you really want him to quit, be sympathetic to his addiction. The upfront cost may seem a bit high however, when you do the numbers, he can cut his habit costs in half over the course of a year.
He-s only going to quit when he gets ready to quit. There-s not going to be a way for him to quit without knowing. My advice would be to make sure that you-re adamant about him not smoking around you or your sister. Smoking is bad and it would be a shame if he caused the two of you to have health issues in the future b/c he refuses to quit. Ask him to leave the area when he smokes or you leave. Maybe if you addressed it that way, he-ll begin to see things a little differently.
Unfortunately, my dad is the same way. I-ve tried everything: begging, stealing them, throwing them out, guilt trips. The only way he will be able to quit is if he really wants to. I-m sorry there isn-t a more pleasant answer for you. I know how hard it is.

What is the most poppular ways to quit smoking?? -

I am doing this for my group project
Chantix is probably the best route. When I quit I started a yahoo group with extensive files and links attached which can answer ANY question you might have about smoking and quitting. While the group is now inactive....the info is still there. Feel free to have a look.

More to psychological matters. Peoples like pregnant women, some using chocolate to replace their smoking acts. so.. depends.
i know a ton of people trying to cold turkey, half of my family did it this way, i quit that way, and over half of my friends quit that way..seems popular to me...
death/suicide
chew buble gum!
chantix
Take to yoga seriously. Such habits will drop off.
I used the lozenge and it really worked for me.

Another health question.Has anyone ever heard of a person that quit smoking suffers from severe headaches? -

My husband has not smoked for a little over a month after many many yrs as a 2 anh half pack a day,and never suffered from headaches before but now has them constantly,I told him I think its all in his head and he became pretty irate with my choice of wods, but really any body ever heard of this?
Yes. Nicotine withdrawal isn-t pretty and can produce many symptoms. It-ll pass. If he-s still smoking off and on and still trying to kick the habit for good with minimal side effects, there-s a new product called Chantix that his doctor can prescribe for him. It helps with the physiological effects of quitting smoking.
If he is having headaches that he didn-t have before he needs to see the doc and find out what is causing them. Unexplained headaches is something that has to be checked at the docs to find out what is going on.
Carbon Monoxide in smoke numbs the brain so his brain is waking up so that could be normal. I have seen one guy drool like a dog when he stopped smoking.

Do not ever say to someone that it is in your mind. How would you like it if your husband said to you that he never said that he had headaches and you imagined it. Maybe you are imagining that you are on the computer now when you are not. Actually your husband killed you said that and you are dead now. But you cannot accept it, so you are imagining that you are still alive.

He should try to eat healthier now. See this site for healthier diet.

When I quit smoking I had headaches until my cravings stopped.
His body is detoxing. Eventually they will go away, but he should talk to his doctor,or chew nicorette gum to help the system get over the shock of the toxins being removed.

TIPS on how to quit smoking? -

For the past month, i-ve been smoking to up to five sticks a day. Any tips to minimize and eventually stop my smoking habit?
Just keep at it, eventually you will succeed. It helps to set a date and then the night before that, throw out everything related to tobacco in your house, your car, etc. Change. Use behavior modification techniques to get your mind to think of tobacco unpleasantly--nothing heavy, just maybe pinch yourself kinda hard on the forearm every time you think about smoking. Go for a walk. Think positively about health, make that a habit, a focus of your thought--how many pushups can I do today, etc.

Very natural specially if you-ve quit during the fall and winter seasons.

You-re on the correct path and your body is proof and telling you that we are expelling the **** that has entered the body through smoking etc.

Getting the flu or cold is an indication that your immune system is working heavy and it is expelling some of the toxins out of the body. It-s like sweating during an exercise.

Well done on quiting smoking.
im just guessing ur body is getting used to the nicotine absence. somehow the nicotine and other toxic in the cigarette maintains ur bodies antibodies and immune system, thus by removing that, the body thinks u are safe and thus lowers the immune system. and then u easily get the flu and cold. dont worry, its nothing, but if u keep on having the cold, try seeing ur GP, he might give u some drugs/antibodies maybe some nicotine patches might work.
yes becuz your body is adjusting to no ciggies. you will be fine!

# of people who quit smoking per year. people who quit smoking per year. how many people officially quit smoking
try finding out how many ppl die each year and who are not road accidents or shooting victims or damn old - the rest are all dead by smoking - so thats the count - that many smokers quit - LIVING !!!!
Shouldn-t your first stop be the bureau of vital swtatistics for information like this?
Regardless, it seems unlikely there could be any way to get an -official- count for a matter like this.
I quit and didn-t report the fact to anybody.

Have any of you quit smoking using chantix, the new pill out? -

Have any of you quit smoking using chantix, the new pill out? -

if you have, was it fairly easy to quit?
I have about 50 patients on Chantix. It is a useful tool. Though it is the most effective FDA approved smoking cessation medication, the major clinical trials demonstrate a 1 year quit rate of 22-24%. This is significantly better than placebo 12% or nicotine replacement 15% or Zyban 18%. The problem is not in getting smokers to quit (Our clinic has 1 month quit rates of 70-80%) but rather keeping them from doing something stupid (like picking up a cigarette) 6 months down the line.
I mention this to emphasize that you must be psychologically prepared to quit as well. You must learn to respect this addiction and realize that you will -always be 1 puff away from a pack a day-. Fear that first cigarette like an recovering alcoholic fears a drink.

Good Luck

Dr Voelker
coworker took it since Nov and just finished her series Successfully also her cravings have gone away
No, havn-t used that, I used nicoderm,no side effect. pills!!! I have my doubts, I took one, can-t remember the name, but the side effect were horrendous.
I quit over Two years ago with nothing but will power the cravings go away after seven days but the craving will never leave you have to be strong

Is quitting smoking worth all the trouble? -

I would like to quit smoking but i hate having a -need- for cigarettes. It is not just the nicotine it is the habit itself. Is it worth all the trouble to stop?
I quit 6 weeks ago. Although I still struggle with it, it hasn-t been anything I can-t handle. Benefits though, I can breathe better, I don-t smell like smoke, food tastes sooo much better, and I don-t have to worry about when I can go smoke again.
It-s a good habit to stop, but it is really hard..it may take up to 6 weeks or more for you to fully recover and quit.
well...depends if you value your life. lol
If you can-t control your self to quit smoking well then what can you do? Smoking is stupid, I guess if you wanna die earlier no there isn-t a need to quit.

I do not know the term for that, just think about these below :

When smokers quit -- What are the benefits over time?

20 minutes after quitting:
Your heart rate and blood pressure drops.

12 hours after quitting:
The carbon monoxide level in your blood drops to normal.

2 weeks to 3 months after quitting:
Your circulation improves and your lung function increases.

1 to 9 months after quitting:
Coughing and shortness of breath decrease; cilia (tiny hair-like structures that move mucus out of the lungs) regain normal function in the lungs, increasing the ability to handle mucus, clean the lungs, and reduce the risk of infection.

1 year after quitting:
The excess risk of coronary heart disease is half that of a smoker-s.

5 years after quitting:
Your stroke risk is reduced to that of a non-smoker 5 to 15 years after quitting.

10 years after quitting:
The lung cancer death rate is about half that of a continuing smoker-s. The risk of cancer of the mouth, throat, esophagus, bladder, cervix, and pancreas decrease, too.

15 years after quitting:
The risk of coronary heart disease is the same as a non-smoker-s.

if anyone has quit smoking what did you do to quit? I want to quit but i-m having a hard time.thanks
I smoked for 40 years, 3 packs a day, then my Dr. prescribed -CHANTIX - it-s a pill that helped me totally quit. I had no side effects, it was not habit forming, it took just a little willpower on my part. Soon I could recognize the differance between a craving, and just a thought of having one. I got two relatives, and four friends to quit, including my 85 year old mother. It works on your brain to make you NOT want to smoke, it does NOT make cigarettes taste bad, or any of that kind of stuff. All I can say is that it worked for all of us....I have insurance and it cost me 20 bucks, without insurance it is about 105 dollars..
I actually broke up with my girl friend who was nothing but undo stress. I actually stopped that same afternoon.

So I guess I would say to evaluate the stress in your life. Although we all smoke for different reasons. I did smoke prior to meeting her.
You can find loads of advice in a search for -quit smoking- in the Search for questions slot.

It-s almost 3pm and I haven-t smoked a cigarette yet, but then again, I went to class and went to bed afterwards. Should I cut down or quit cold turkey or get patches or anything else?
Have you tried a support group??

Nicotine Anonymous is a Non-Profit 12 Step Fellowship of men and women helping each other live nicotine-free lives. Nicotine Anonymous welcomes all those seeking freedom from nicotine addiction, including those using cessation programs and nicotine withdrawal aids. The primary purpose of Nicotine Anonymous is to help all those who would like to cease using tobacco and nicotine products in any form. The Fellowship offers group support and recovery using the 12 Steps as adapted from Alcoholics Anonymous to achieve abstinence from nicotine.
If you want to stop smoking then it is really important to know, what works and what does not. You can be really motivated to quit, but if the methods you are using are not effective, then you will not get the results. The key is to find the best method and once you have done that, then quitting smoking will become easy.

Right now there is an incredible effective and quick method to help people stop smoking forever, it is called Neuro-Linguistic-Programming or NLP. This is a form of psychotherapy that is designed for people like you to stop smoking.

In a test that was done using NLP, 97.2% of smokers out of 5000, where still smoke free 6 months later. NLP eliminates the psychological cravings for nicotine. The physical cravings for nicotine actually disappear after around one week, but the psychological cravings persist.

None of the other methods really concentrate on the psychological aspects of smoking but NLP does. It makes quitting smoking very easy and quick for people. For a person, who has struggled with smoking for a very long time, may think it is not possible, but it is. There are not risks or side-effects involved with this treatment, it is completely natural and safe.

If you want to quit smoking without using -will power- or experiencing any cravings what-so-ever, the quit smoking today program is the answer you-re looking for. It has an incredible success rate of 92.7%
if you use the patch, you will have to wean yourself off the patch.. Try cold turkey. They also have chantix if you need more help.. Just remember..This quitting smoking is the hardest thing you will ever do but you only have to do it once...
Get rid of all your cigarettes. STOP BUYING. Quitting cold turkey is impossible and if people smoke around you then that makes it even less attainable. Even though I haven-t completely stopped smoking I-ve cut back a lot, which makes me sort of believe that smoking isn-t as addictive as people make it out to be. The only times I smoke is on the weekends after I-ve downed a couple of cocktails and bum a cig or 2 from nearby smokers. Other than that I keep myself busy and I honestly never crave one. Well that-s what works for me at least. Try my way, if not go for the nicotine patches or gum. But stay away from Chantix!
