Will my smile lines disappear since i quit smoking? -

I-m about to turn 22, and starting to get faint smile lines
my family has youthful looking faces usually (non smokers)

I-ve been quit for a week, will the appearance diminish in time, at all?
Once you get lines or wrinkles in your skin they are there forever. Wrinkle creams or dermatological injectable fillers can lessen these lines, but they will not go away naturally. The good news is that since you quit you won-t risk anymore premature wrinkles. Staying hydrated and avoiding the sun/wearing sunblock will help keep your face youthful
I-m not an expert, but from what I have seen most lines don-t disappear even once you stop. I think smoking can cause your skin to dehydrate, so drinking lots of water throughout each day might help brighten your face up and help make you look more your age. I hope that helps a little! :)
no they wont but you can get a cream for that

If anyone here has quit i was wondering if you could plz gimme some tips on what would be the best thing to use and any other suggestions would help, thanks alot.
Hey, I started smoking when I turned eight years old, and had a step-dad and two brothers who smoked, so if I smoked, my mom couldn-t tell because we all smelled like that. but when I turned ten my mom kicked my step-dad and my brothers out, so I had no one to steal cigarettes from, and I had no one to blend in with, if I were you I-d try Chantix.
I was always able to quit smoking when I got sick. I didn-t feel like smoking then, and when I got better I just didn-t start again. But other than that, just make a commitment and pick a starting date. Chew lots of gum. It-ll be hard at first but easier every day that passes. I was smoking 2 packs a day and then I just decided that was enough so I quit. It takes willpower.
sorry it-s just will power.

So I have been putting the nicotine patch directle on my testicles. Over the last couple of weeks I have notcied my testicles seems to be smaller and they are very painful. Has anyone else experienced this?
I tried that too! Unfortunately my testicles developed a cough and became nicotine stained.

Any tips I can have to quit smoking as well. Now I come from a family where my parents are basically up my butt on everything and are very annoying and stressful what should I do when I quit smoking. How do I not let that bother me? Thats the main reason why I smoke.
Cold Turkey: A guide to quitting smoking

Have you ever tried to quit smoking? Have you ever known a smoker who tried to quit? If you answered yes to either of these questions, you know that quitting smoking can be extremely difficult. I am not here to tell you that it isn’t hard. When properly prepared, quitting smoking can be easier if you quit “cold turkey”. I have tried to quit many times over the nine years that I have been smoking, and I have finally discovered the secret to putting out the addiction for good without the use of nicotine supplements. My family is full of ex smokers, and many of us have decided to take a chance with this great technique. You must have good reasons, reward yourself when you reach a goal, have a good support system, be educated about what difficulties you may face and know what to do when you have a craving. All of these things will help you on your way to quitting smoking. In order to quit smoking for good, it is best when you have a reason. I thought for so long that my health was the best reason of all. Then I thought to myself, “I am still alive and walking around. I don’t need to quit for my health.” Because of this, I was never really determined enough as my reasoning was not solid. Three months ago I got into a car accident and had to buy a new car. When I drove off the lot, I was so happy with my new car, the way it drove, the way the heater kicked in just right and that new car smell was great. Before I got out of the car, I took one deep breath to smell that new car smell and got out. I then lit up a cigarette. I looked in my pack of cigarettes and realized that I only had about ? of a pack left. This would last me through one more day if I was lucky. I went into work the next day and was so proud of my new car; I was showing it off to anyone that would look. Every single person who sat in my car mentioned the new car smell. Now, keeping the new car smell in my new car wouldn’t last for forever, but if I smoked in my car, I knew the smell of cigarettes would. Smelling cigarettes in my car everyday for the next 8 – 10 years might not seem like a big deal to many smokers, but think about the $16,000.00 I spent to have this new car. If I smoked in the car everyday, 8-10 years from now, I won’t be able to sell it for much simply because of the smell. Speaking of money, I also calculated roughly how much money I was spending on cigarettes in a year. I was spending roughly $1500.00 a year on cigarettes alone. That is almost 1/10 the cost of my new car and about 1 ? paychecks, gone. Then I also thought about the things I bought impulsively every time I would get a pack of cigarettes. I would buy a Coke, a bag of chips, a candy bar, a lotto ticket or even a magazine or two. This added about $700.00 a year. As you can see, saving money so that I can afford nice things for myself, is a really big reason that I cannot turn a blind eye to.Now you may ask what are you going to do with all of that money you are saving? Well here is the answer. You spend it! Buying yourself nice things is very important when quitting smoking. I don’t mean that you should go spend thousands of dollars on stuff you don’t need. Instead, use a portion of the money to reward yourself when you reach a starter goal. When I quit for one month, I took myself and two friends out for a night on the town. When I reached two months, I took myself on a mini shopping spree. I picked up a few movies and some facial stuff. That night, my best friend and I had a night in and pampered ourselves. I recently reached my three month mark and I decided to get myself a gym membership. It was a little more expensive than dinner, movies and pampering, but three months is a big mile stone when quitting. Not only that, but I am now going to the gym everyday with a friend of mine. This is a constant treat. When you set a goal and plan on rewarding yourself, you work harder to reach those goals. This is a very important step in quitting smoking. If you don’t have something to look forward to, you lose determination.Another important thing is a good support system. Your friends and family are some of your strongest tools in this journey. One of my friends set a challenge for me. She said “Tell me you still aren’t smoking in three months and I will congratulate you then.” It made me mad at first that she wouldn’t congratulate me on my decision to quit, but then I realized what she was doing. She was telling me that I could get to three months and she wanted to see it happen this time. When I finally got to my three month mark, I called her up and told her the great news. She said the greatest thing after that. She said “Call me again in three months for your congratulations.” However, if your friends and family say things such as “I bet you can’t do it,” it could put a damper on your challenge. Constructive criticism is a key element. Talk with your family and friends about the ways that they can help you through this tough time.“But how will I know what to expect when I quit?” I have been asked this many times. The best thing to do to is ask someone who has tried to quit before. You may be cranky, you might have mood swings, you may even feel like being violent to those who care and just want to see you quit. You will have cravings, and in order to quit, you must not give in. I do not know one person who has been truly addicted to cigarettes that has not had a craving when they tried to quit smoking. Why do we have these cravings? Why do we get cranky when we quit? Why can’t I just put out this cigarette and be done with it? These are all questions that you need to answer before you are ready to quit. Nicotine is a highly addictive substance, if it wasn’t, we probably wouldn’t be addicted to cigarettes in the first place. When we cut off the supply of nicotine, our brain goes crazy and starts telling our body that we need nicotine. Your brain will play many tricks on you to get you to start smoking again. These tricks include but are not limited to crankiness, headaches, cold sweats, cravings, shakiness, etc. Some people will experience all of these while others will only experience one or two of these symptoms. These are all things that you need to know about before you try to quit. If you do not plan for these things before you quit, you will have a less likely chance of quitting. Don’t be discouraged if you quit and then start back up again. Lots of people fail when trying to quit smoking. Someone once told me that it can take up to eight tries before you can actually quit for good. This will be my 10th try at quitting smoking. Every time that I have tried to quit, I have given in within a month because of these seemingly minuet challenges. The reason I feel that this will be the final time, is I have dealt with all of those challenges and had a few other challenges head my way. My good friend called me one day about a month after I quit smoking and told me that he had just got back from boot camp. We went out for dinner to celebrate, and he informed me that he will be shipped out to Iraq sometime in the middle of February. That night was the hardest night that I could have imagined. I was sure that when I got in the car, I would drive to the liquor store and buy a pack of cigarettes. When I drove him home, I gave him a big hug and sent him on his way. I had to drive right by the liquor store to get home and it as really hard to not turn in to buy cigarettes. Then I remembered all the money I would be wasting, all of the challenges that my friends had put me up to, all I had already been through with cravings and mood swings, and all the rewards I am looking forward to in the future. After I thought of all of that, it was easy to keep driving. When tragedy strikes, you must not give in. It is tough but I can name one thing that is tougher. Cravings are the leading cause of downfall for all of the smokers in my family. We all have had cravings that drive us to the edge and most of us started up again. The reason we failed so many times, is that we had no defense against the cravings. There are two types of cravings that I have seen. There are chemical cravings and habitual cravings. Chemical cravings happen to pretty much anyone who is addicted to nicotine. However, these are the easier of the two types of cravings to get past. In my experience, each chemical craving lasts for about three minutes. Everyone I asked when I was looking for help, said that the cravings lasted anywhere from 2 – 5 minutes. Once a chemical craving has passed, there is usually not another craving for at least an hour. The other thing that makes chemical cravings easier is knowing that within a few days, you won’t be craving for the nicotine anymore. Here lies the reason that nicotine supplements only make quitting harder. When you use things such as “The Patch” or “The Gum”, they slowly release nicotine into your body, allowing you to have a steady flow of craving free days. I am not saying that the patch does not work. However, the patch can draw out the nicotine cravings for longer than necessary. After the chemical cravings have started to pass, the habitual cravings really start to kick in. If you are a social smoker, or if you have a set smoking routine such as smoking in the car, or after a meal, these may be the hardest times of the day. You will constantly be reminded that you want a cigarette. If you are a social smoker, this can be especially difficult. When your friends smoke around you, you become attracted to the idea of smoking. You may want to hold a lit cigarette and bring it to your lips and take a nice big drag. During the first month, anytime my friends would smoke around me, I would reach into my pocket looking for my cigarettes and lighter, only to realize that they were not there. After dinner, I would get up to go outside, and then r

I need help...I am so addicted to cigarettes...I-m 30 years old and I-ve been smoking for 10 years now and I would like to quit...I think there gross and I hate the smell they leave on your hands and clothes...But, I have a hard time quitting...I need Any suggestions or help...
After years of trying, I finally had to do it cold turkey.
I quit cold turkey. I did have withdrawals but i gave myself pep talks. I really don-t know how I was able to quit. ITIS DEFINITELY WORTH IT GOOD LUCK
nicaderm patches really work you should try them
I have started trying to quit the past 3 days also and I am truly scared. I am going to the doctor this morning to talk about this terrible addiction I have to cigarettes. I am 54 yrs. old and have smoked since I was 14. So this is 40 yrs of smoke build-up that needs to be cleaned out. I have tried quitting before, several times, with no success.

But this time, a week ago, I suffered with almost having a stroke. I started to tingle and get numb on my left hand side, fingers first then up my arm.

I have never been so scared in my life. I thought I was going to die. I got taken to the hospital and the dr. said I had to quit smoking. But it is so hard, because I love my smoking, but WHAT I AM I DOING TO MYSELF???? I now have High Blood Pressure and need to keep that down, wayyyy down.

So today is the day that I put those cigarettes down and pray that I never take one again!!

I need all the prayers I can get too, so if you want to contact me, please do so and we can quit together, if you would like.

I wish you the best and we both know, cigarettes are NOT good for you or anyone around you.
i went and had the cold laser done and it works.i smoked for 12 years and quit cold turkey after the laser
Consult your doc.. There is a special type of chewing gum that the docs recommend to chew whenever one feels the need to smoke.. Few of my friends have tried it - it works..
I have been smoking for 40+ years. I also have tried to quit many, many times without success. Several weeks ago I heard about -CHANTIX- and talked my doctor to perscribing this for me. With Chantix and the Grace of God, I have been smoke free for 5 weeks now. There are very little side effects. (nausea if taken of an empty stomache) The program offers web or telephone support. You are a young lady...you do not want to end up like me with emphysema and COPD (Yes, they ARE 2 different lung diseases) Quit now while you have your youth. Good Luck and May God be with You!
I only smoked a little in college but my dad was quite the smoker when I was very young. After his dad and brother dies from lung cancer, and my brother had lung problems, he was very motivated to quit. He went to a program called smoke-enders. I do not know exactly but, basically they educate you, you trade stories about when and why you smoke, and you gradually cut back how many you smoke. He has seen many people quit this way after being a teacher. Good Luck to you.
Read Alan Carrs book, The easy way to stop smoking, it does work. A friend gave it to me after it had worked for her, of course I thanked her but thought what a load of rubbish...reading a book won-t get me off the smokes but before I had even finished the book I wanted to throw the bloody smokes away. I have been off them for nearly seven years now and have no desire to smoke again. I was about 13 when I started to smoke and 41 before I finally quit. I found it surprisingly easy, in fact I guess it is only as hard as you make it yourself, the old mind over matter trick. Actual cravings last for less than 5 minutes and you only need to do it for one cigarette and one minute at a time if you think about it...for instance just for this minute I won-t have a cigarette..I might have it later but just for now I won-t. I did that to stop drinking when I was only 22 and I am still sober now at 48.
Good luck....good health can be yours!
I smoked 20 years and tried to quit smoking several times. I-ve tried cold turkey, family/friend intervention, smoking cessation classes, you name it. Then I bought the -patch- and it was easy. As with any medication, results vary from person to person but it worked great for me. While serving a tour in Iraq, I lapsed and started smoking again, but when I came back I used the patch again, and I was done. The cravings were extremely minimal, and only when I did something that was usually associated with smoking. A simple change in routine fixed that. No matter what solution you use however, you have to truly want to quit. The greatest obstacle is your mind. Don-t beat yourself up if you slip, but don-t except it as defeat either. Good luck.
I started an exercise plan. When I felt like smoking I hit the gym or went for a walk, anything cardio that would make me breathe hard. The more cardio I did the less I felt like smoking. It helped me because I noticed a difference in my lung capacity very quickly, that helped steel my resolve not to smoke. Good Luck!
I stopped soking 20 days ago with the help of a perscription drug Chantix , it-s been working pretty well here, No slip-up-s. But Ihave also been recieving support from American Lung association as well. You might want to a take a look.

Once there you want to click on the quit smoking link and sign up. There are alot of people that can support you, just follow through every day. Good Luck !

i quit december 1st 2006...i smoked my last smoke and just quit buying them. smoked for years..but if you don-t have any you can-t smoke....so quit buying them.
I-m 48 and have been smoking since I was 14. I-ve quit twice before, but within the next month, I will be quitting for good and doing so by taking the advice I gave my father before he died of Emphasyma. And that was to tackle the job of quitting smoking just like you would tackle having a deadly disease. Use every resource available and MAKE IT YOUR MAJOR PRIORITY EVERY MINUTE OF EVERY DAY BECAUSE YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT.

I became a grandmother last year and am about to have my third grandchild this year. My children are refusing to let their kids grow up like they did and like I did- in an atmosphere of toxins. If that means not letting their kids have a relationship with grandma, so be it. My pregnant daughter won-t visit me because I smoke and she is protecting her unborn child. It-s insulting, embarrassing, humiliating, and degrading, but I respect her decision because she-s right. If only my mother had done that when she was pregnant with me. If only I-d done that when I was pregnant with my kids.

My mom died of congestive heart failure and smoked up until she went into a coma. She smoked and caught her oxygen tube on fire.... twice. I watched her die. I watched my dad die. Both slowly and painfully and prematurely because of years of smoking.

It all boils down to the decision of choosing life over death; health over pain. Not only for ourselves, but for the ones we love who we subject to the even more toxic second hand smoke.

I wish us both the best of luck. And if we -backslide-, I hope that neither of us will return to smoking, but immediately start working on quitting again immediately.

In the past, I found the patch and a wonderful hypnosis tape to be helpful. I wish I could find that hypnosis tape again, but regardless, I WILL be joining you in your plight within the next few weeks.

We didn-t smoke when we were kids. Perhaps trying to recapture that frame of mind will help too. And the daily affirmation -I AM a non-smoker-!
Drink alot of water.
hi there i-m 29 years old i quit yesterday 4 the umpteenth time. good luck to us all. i-m having cravings and now sweating nonstop cant wait to get back home. all the best. theres nothin cold about this turkey
well, i-ve been hooked to this thing for 4 years now. but now i quit. ok...i may smoke one cigarette or two a day...but i just puff them like a cigar. also, it-s been 35 days since i stopped smoking a whole pack everyday. the thing started when i got the flu a month ago. and since, i couldnt really smoke like i used to before. i found that flu helpful when it came to smoking. it made me really vulnerable to smoking and after that i couldnt enjoy my cigarette like i used to. i dont know if this can help u people in any way...but i am just sharing my experience.
I have been smoking since I was 18, and now I am 41. I somewhat agree with -streetboy-, only because the last checkup I had my doctor took an extensive blood test and told me that I should be highly anemic, but the cigarette smoking is stopping the anemia. That didn-t make sense to me, but I see what streetboy is saying. Quiting after a long period could do some harm, although I think about quitting alot for health, and financial reasons.
Hi there,

I smoked for 20 years and realized I needed to quit for health reasons as most do. I smoked over a pack a day! I tried everything for years and nothing worked until I found Accupuncture. It-s a simple procedure where they stick a few needles at certain points in each ear. I don-t like needles at all but I had to do it and it wasn-t that bad. It was like a pinch. As you sit and listen to medatative music and drink herbel tea for 1/2 hr you become relaxed and the craving for cigarettes do deminish, at least they did for me in a short time. I went for 30 sessions and have now been smoke free for 3 years. I know without a shadow of a doubt that I will never return to smoking because of Accupucture only for me. Some people don-t need as many sessions as I did. I was ok with the not smoking after only a couple of sessions but I wanted to make sure I never smoked again, so I kept going for 3 months. Here in the US you may not be so lucky in obtaining sessions for free as I received them in Canada being Canadian, who knows, I don-t. There may be programs out there that help people stop smoking as they have in Canada. It is one of many programs to try and there must be something the US government implements to help people quit as it is in the Country-s best interest for overall health to live longer as proven medically. IAccupucture does work but not for everyone and is worth a shot because nothing worked for me. I wish you much luck. If you want it bad enough, you will and can do it! Im prime example of that because as sad as it sounds I did enjoy smoking at one time but not now! It is not easy but you can do this! Good luck!

Deborah
I don-t no weather you consume alcohol or not, if you do stay away from any place that serves alcohol, cause I know from experience that alcohol makes you want to smoke.
Another tip that I can give you is to refrain from all caffeine as this will also give you the urge to smoke.
Hang around in all the non smoking areas you can, such as restaurants (non smoking areas)pizza parlors, church.
Keep natural snacks on hand, such as carrot sticks, apples etc.etc.this will help you ,
I hope this will help you and good luck with your quest.
Dont sit around!!! All you will do is think about it, I read in a previous post to get some thing to chew on I used those little straws you stir coffee with you can chew the heck out of them and they are somthing for your mouth and hands to do. Like a few on here I have only been off them for a short time...it has been a month, but I quit cold turkey after trying a few other times using the -cut down- method and patches only problem is is that your body is still getting nicotine, the first week is hard....the first weekend is hell particularly if you like to enjoy a few beers on the weekend. Also workout...you may remeber as a kid being able to run around and having energy, well that comes back mighty quick once youve stopped, I am working out to replace the smoking and I have lowerd my heart rate by 15 bpm at rest and I can do 40 min of cardio and still breath, not to mention walk up the stairs without feeling like I might pass out. I had smoked for 12 years and now that I am off of them I feel great and you know what I look better too, your skin kinda turns color from maybe the lack of oxygen or whatever, but it really does affect the way you not only feel, but look too. I am not going to say it is easy because it is not and even after a month with no nicotine I still have odd little cravings, but I am staying away for good and getting my life and my health back not to mention that you will save between $1400 to upwards of $1900 a year. Good luck and I hope you can finally achieve your goal!! And definatly count the weeks because you tell people and they say good job and you feel proud of yoursef and that keeps you motivated.
I smoked for 29 years and quit 8 months ago. I did it cold turkey but I have no problem with NRTs - whatever it takes to quit putting the poison in your system that comes from the smoke, not necessarily the nicotine.

The other quit aid that I stumbled across was a website - www. quitnet.com. It is an online support group that really made it possible for me to quit. Check it out and you-ll find people on there who smoked multiple packs a day for 30 and 40 years who were able to quit with the help of quitnet.

One last piece of advice: I was lucky because my quit worked the first time I tried. I have known numerous people on quitnet that had to quit several times before they were successful. KEEP TRYING!!!!

Good luck - the outcome is worth the effort to get there!
You will get to a point where you cannot stand smoke or smoking anymore, and that is when you will decide you have had enough. Sometimes it is because a loved one is lost or sick because they smoked, but you will know when the time is right. When i quit, each time I wanted one, I would convince my self to wait another hour and see how I feel then. That time would pass, and I would try it again. Good Luck! it is soooo hard, but sooo worth it.
theres no 1 method that works on everybody so im gonna just tell ya how i did it. I always promised myself that i would quit b4 i turned 30 , cause thats the age were i felt my health would not ever get better and i would suffer from cancer. well 30 came in nov. and dec. i was still smoking, this really hurt because i had gotten used 2 being let down by most other people but when i knew that i was the only one responsable for my bad nasty life threatening habit , i knew that i had to really give a whole hearted effort. so some time towards the end of december i caught another nasty cold ,( like many smokers often do) i thought right now would be a good time to throw these nasty things into the garbage, ( crushed so i wouldnt dig them back out). i chewed gum and carried mints in my shirt pocket where i used to keep my cigs, cause the habit of reaching for that pocket was still there.i also did other lil things like the rubberband on the wrist so when i thought that reaccuring thought of having a cig would pop up i would just pull the rubberband and let it go and it would sting so i was replacing the good thought of a cig with instant pain, just lil mind tricks like that along with real pain really starts to sink in to those places that would have felt even greater pain had i lit a cig. i also put the money i would have spent on cigs in the bank and had a thousand dollars saved up b4 i knew it. i took my family on a camping trip at the end of the year and carried ten one hundred dollar bills around during the small vac. spending it on my family felt so much better than making the tobaco company exec.s richer.I also hate the smell of tobaco smoke and i think that was one of the biggest things that helped turn the tide in my favor . good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is a new medicine out now called Chantix. It-s WONDERFUL in my opinion, I-ve tried lots of other methods and failed. I was able to quit with this pretty easily, but you also have to make the commitment to quit - stick with it. It took away my urge to smoke. It-s not covered by insurance but to me it was well worth the cost. Good luck.
I quit cold turkey!!But it was about the 10th time I tried, I have been smoking for almost 20 years. If you can make it through the 3rd and 4th day you can do it, those are the withdrawl days. Instead of smoking you have to find other things to occupy your time, my husband and I both quit at the same time. The hardest time seemed to be after dinner, we started drinking coffee instead of smoking, and then we started excersing for 20 minutes just until the craving passed. I found that cough drops (I use Ricola) help with the urges as well, I tried the commit lozenges, but they really burn your throat and keep you hooked on the nicotine, the cough drops give you the same sensation and they are cheaper. I have had a couple of slips, but I continue to keep trying to quit everyday. Good Luck.
That-s more than half the battle, you have to want to quit. Then I suggest getting the patch, that is the best way.....
I have found that the best way for me to quit and stay quit is with support. Quitting smoking is the hardest thing that I have ever done. I go regularly to meetings at yahoo groups. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/lobbyville/cal

I don-t know if is spam or not, but this has been the biggest help to me. I was a smoker for about 25 years smoking 1 1/2 packs a day. I have now been quit for: I have been quit for 1 Month, 1 Day, 2 hours, 32 minutes and 41 seconds (32 days). I have saved $191.82 by not smoking 802 cigarettes. I have saved 2 Days, 18 hours and 50 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 12/29/2006 5:00 AM.

There are lots of people to help here that have gone through and are going through what you are.

Good Luck

Debbie
1. Visit with your smoking Friends, hospital where they treat asthma, lung cancer,TB patients
2. Try to stop those habits which demands cigarette afterward or before!
3. Remove things away, which reminds you cigarette eg. ashtrays cigarette cases and smoking Friends(for a while atlest)
4. Just control that time with full determination when you urge cigarette most, even if just one puff, instead drink a glass of water
5. Instead of tea, coffee, spicy food, alcohol which seems great with cigarette try lemon,Orange, grapes drinks
6. Fill the vacuum of cigarette pleasure, with some sports, marshal arts. they give you that adrenal rush which helps filling the missed pleasure of cigarette in hand!
7. Be happy about your enhanced young glow on face, vitality and stamina, as you get all this simply because you quit smoke
MY GOOD FRIEND, THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE. YOU WILL DIE (SOONER) SMOKING! YOU MUST WANT TO STOP SMOKING, SMELL BETTER AND JUST SIMPLY WANT TO LIVE LONGER AND HEALTHIER. IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DO ANY OF THESE IT WILL NEVER WORK!!!

I STOPPED COLD TURKEY ONE MONTH AGO USING THE FOLLOWING INSPIRATIONAL WORDS FROM BOB MARLEY (A SMOKER HIMSELF AND WE KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM):

- EMANCIPATE YOURSELF FROM MENTAL SLAVERY....NONE BUT YOURSELF CAN FREE YOUR MIND -.

HAS BEEN WORKING FOR ME SO FAR JUST FINE, NO PATCH, NO PILLS, JUST THE WILL TO ENJOY THIS RELATIVE SHORT TIME I HAVE BEEN GIVEN ON THIS EARTH!

GOOD LUCK.
It-s all how you think about quiting. For me, I just put them down on the counter, in plain site. I never told my self that I could not have one. ( the reason for that is, because if you tell your self you can-t have something you want it more. same thing with food and dieting)
I just challenged my self to see how long I could go with out one. I went one day, then two, three, a week, etc... Also a good point I would like to make is, I didn-t tell anyone what I was doing, so they could not add pressure to me. That-s what worked for me, I have been smoke free for almost 18 years now. Good Luck!

i-ve twice tried to quit smoking, and after being a social smoker (about 3 a day) for 25 years, its not that difficult to quit, however the incessant coughing spells that result after quiting after about a week is driving me insane. how long does it last and is there something i can take to ease the coughing?
In very rare cases, you may get infected with bronchitis or pneumonia when you quit smoking. Or it may just be lungs clearing itself out. Try cough syrups or decongestants. Consult your doctor if the cough persists for more than a week. I wish you best of luck in quitting this terrible thing. I did last year and never looked back. I feel healthier and happier than ever.
good for you, tough it out they will stop or use a suppressant.
A cigarette or two usually cures it.
keep a sweet in your mouth that keeps wettening your throught and makes it less painful to cough.
it will stopp at a certain stage - kkep going!
good luck!
If it is productive, try deep breathing exercises. Breath in deeply about three times and on the third one, upon exhaling, try to cough up anything that you feel is there. Try it especially as soon as you wake up in the morning. If it isn-t productive, lay off of cold drinks and irritants. It will give your pharynx (throat) a chance to heal. This all takes time. It took time to damage yourself so, it will take time to heal as well.
There is a tea called -Lung Tea- that can be found at health food stores. It won-t make the cough go away, in fact it makes you cough your head off. However, the tea helps clear out the nasty mucus and irritants that are buried in your lungs in a matter of days. It-s better than suffering for months.
maybe try mucinex
Honey and lemon, licorice root tea, or Marshmallow tea (it-s an herb) best thing u can do is drink a lot of water to flush ur system and help keep ur tissues hydrated and lubricated. Good luck and Congrats on quitting.

How do I get my parents to quit smoking? -

They-ve been smoking my whole life, and I-ve tried every way to get them to stop. My Mom is all for quitting but she can-t quit if Dad doesn-t, you know... -cause of the temptation. Dad would just yell at me if I asked him to quit and I don-t see any way to get him to quit without him being cooperative enough to not yell at me when I ask him to. I-m concerned for my mothers health and mine also (you know, the whole secondhand smoke thing).

Thanks in advance,
Guin
Like many others I smoked when I was young but managed to kick the habit before I was totally hooked, I was lucky and suffered no damage to my health. But for a close friend it was different, even though she was only a moderate smoker, her health was being seriously affected and getting worse with time. Now this is where I really sympathize with smokers. She like many smokers knew the dangers and had genuinely tried many different ways to quit smoking. She tried patches, hypnosis and read several books on the subject of quitting, nothing had worked. She always ended back at square one, knowing she needed to quit, but how, nothing had a lasting effect. That was until she tried Smoke Deter.

So why am I telling this, because I played a small part in her success. You see I heard about Smoke Deter through my son, his best mate had quit smoking using Smoke Deter and I convinced my friend to try it. She was very skeptical, but I was so concerned about her health that I said that if it didn-t work I would pay for it, so she had nothing to lose and that convinced her. That was a year and five months ago, it worked and she is no longer a smoker, she has never has the urge to smoke since she quit using Smoke Deter, that-s a fact and it-s the only product she tried that she-s happy to tell others about.

Smoke Deter is an herbal based liquid oral spray that is used 3 times a day, this is also supplemented with herbal pills which when combined is very effective at reducing your nicotine cravings. How quickly it works depends on the extent of your habit, it can work as quickly as 2 weeks or may take 3 months, regardless of the time, your health is worth the effort to kick your smoking habit.

Smoke Deter also offers a lifetime free membership support program, so you are never on your own, help is available 24 hours a day if you feel the need, like if your resolve is weakening. That-s what I like about Smoke Deter it changes your whole attitude to smoking, it works on your mind as well as your body. Unfortunately I-ve seen the damage smoking has done within my own family and also in my circle of friends, consequently I-m fully aware just how hard it is to stop smoking without some kind of help. I-ve seen first hand how Smoke Deter helped my friend quit smoking and so it-s not surprising she can-t say enough about it. So if this article brings Smoke Deter to your attention and as a result helps you kick the smoking habit, then for me writing about it has been worthwhile.

So if you-ve been wondering if these quit smoking products work, well I guess some do and some don-t, but one that has my recommendation is Smoke Deter, I-ve personally seen it work when other methods failed. I-m happy to pass that information on so that others looking for a safe natural way to quit can try Smoke Deter if they wish.

If you would like more helpful information on Smoke Deter or other free quit smoking information, you may like to visit the url in the source box below. It seems to confirm some of my comments and is dedicated to helping smokers improve their health, fitness and beat the smoking habit.
You could maybe try to ask your mom to talk your dad into stop smoking. Maybe she will be convincing and he will stop smoking.
Or you could sit down with them, and have a conversation about it. Talk about all the dangers and the ways it is making the world a horrible place. But, before you start talking ask your dad if he can not yell at you. Maybe if you talk about all the bad things about smoking he will change his mind about smoking.
Another thing you could do (your dad might get a little frustrated) Is hide all the cigarettes in the house. They will spend so much time looking for them, they will eventually give up.
I am also a person who is trying to get my parents to stop smoking. My mom became pregnant, so she had to stop and after that she stopped smoking for good. My dad on the other hand, is really hard. I beg him and he tries so hard to stop but eventually buys a pack of ciggarettes.
Good Luck!!
Best Wishes,
Haylee
Hi Guin,

The answer to quit smoking, is not to quit. The answer is to start smoking a healthy cigarette. This cigarette has no secondhand smoke, no tar, no cancer causing substances, no ash, no bad smells.

Here is the link:
http://www.greensmoke.com/bestprice

I hope you can convince your parents to smoke the healthy cigarette, it will be best for their health and yours.
I agree with the electronic cigarette maybe being an answer for your parents. At least your mom might be open to it. Before you even bring up a -brand- of e-cig I would have your mom do a little reading on some forums because there are many models available and prices can vary by A LOT.

Here-s a couple of unbranded forums so she (or you) can do some researching without the -sales pitch- and see if it might be an option.

Good Luck
its difficult to stop smoking
you cannot stop it once
you should stop it slowly
bring ecigarette for them it contains minute dosage of nicotine in minute form
they act as a safer alternative to the conventional tobacco products
once check this site
it may help you in stopping your parents from smoking
Some people will swear that an e-cigarette has helped them quit or cut down on cigarettes but at the moment they are not recognized by the FDA as a smoking cessation device, so this site will make no claims that it helps you quit or cut down on smoking real cigarettes.
Do what my cousin did to her hubby( then her BF). Told him that kissing him was like kissing a dirty ashtray. Refuse to hug or sit near your Dad. When he asks the question, why, tell him that you find his smoke scented body odor nauseating.
show him pictures on the internet on what happens when you smoke. it may shock him but its the truth. and if that doesn-t work do the cry hold onto their leg and beg thing!
Here are the ugly facts kid: If he doesn-t want to quit he isn-t going to no matter what.

I want to quit smoking and need some help? -

I really want to quit but i have like no willpower so it-s been really hard i have been trying and failing for almost a year. I can-t afford the patches or anything, i can-t even afford the cigarettes but it seems like i always find a way to get some, so any tips on getting over the cravings would be great!
hi Marisa

i know the feeling about not being able to quit.. i smoked for over 40 years, the last 5 of them, trying to quit, time and time again.. the only thing that worked for me was joining a support group..

one of the methods we employ is known as the 5 D-s..

Distract.. (ie do something else) its hard to smoke for instance washing dishes..

Discuss.. you did that by posting for help.. we often discuss cravings with other quitters..

Delay.. (i don-t need one now).. you can postpone one forever a minute at a time!!

Drink water.. believe it or not it helps with cravings, and flushes the system.

Deep breathe, yogis to Opera singers..use this method..most smokers only breathed deep dragging on a cigarette..

i am a member of nicotine anonymous.and attend meetings online and locally, (they are free, however you can contribute to cover expenses if you wish).. there are a number of voice meetings available on line, we are as close as your Computer..

Nicotine Anonymous is a Non-Profit 12 Step Fellowship of men and women helping each other live nicotine-free lives. Nicotine Anonymous welcomes all those seeking freedom from nicotine addiction, including those using cessation programs and nicotine withdrawal aids. The primary purpose of Nicotine Anonymous is to help all those who would like to cease using tobacco and nicotine products in any form. The Fellowship offers group support and recovery using the 12 Steps as adapted from Alcoholics Anonymous to achieve abstinence from nicotine.

Put a rubber band around your wrist and snap it whenever you get a craving. The pain will make smoking have a negative connotation.

Do something else. Chew gum, or drink orange juice or something that-s just nasty as hell with a cigarette. Do something with your hands (washing dishes is a good one- it-s hard as hell to smoke then :P) or just something similar.

Go inside where you CAN-T smoke (according to most local laws).

Stop hanging out with smokers for awhile if they pressure you (eg come outside with us, it-s just one cig!) just be like sorry guys I gotta give it a break for awhile and if they-re annoying you and not helping you just be away from them for a bit.

Good luck!
I quit a 2 pack a day habit using an electronic cigarette. They are amazing. The last time I had a traditional cigarette was an hour before I got my e-cig in the mail. I have not had the desire to smoke a traditional cigarette ever since. Here is a link to the company I buy from. They have one of the best reputations in the e-cig world and great prices. Good luck on your journey to a healthier you.

I want to lose weight and quit smoking, Does that mean I have to be hungry and miserable? -

I hate smoking but it has become a regular part of my life, every time I try to quit I eat ALL the time. Now I am fat and smoke. Kind of stupid but the only time I feel satisfied while trying to quit smoking is when I have stuffed my self so full of food my stomach aches. I have read a bit on quiting somking and most refrences do not recomend the patch or gum. Is their a magic pill that will help me controll my urges for cigaretts as well as reduce my hunger?
I was a smoker for over 20 yrs off and on . I quit over a month ago on Zyban(welbutrin) For me it was the magic pill because it worked. I am also an avid runner. I have gained a few pounds but if you exercise, eat healthy and drink a ton of water you will be fine. I als joined a web site called quitnet.com another site is whyquit.com quit net is a great support and why quit will motivate you! Good luck....N.O.P.E (not one puff ever)
Sorry, but yes, you will be hungry and miserable for a while. BUT DO IT ANYWAY! You will feel so much better when you are thin again and can walk a flight of stairs with out stopping to catch your breath.
I did hypnosis for my smoking cesation and he added in weight loss too. I stopped smoking and lost 25 lbs at the same time.
GOOD LUCK!!!
thats a really tough one, because most people that quit learn to enjoy food more a. because food tastes better than before because you can smell better therefore enjoy it more b. because instead of a smoke to fidget with you will likely eat chew or drink something (or a combination of )you have to put the eating in check and try to eat healthier than you ever had, that and get in an exercise regimen or walk more...I smoked when I was young quit for 17 years, took it back up when I traveled to egypt on a long business trip, smoked for 4 years, and finally have quit for good over 6 years now so far, welbutrin helped but its a very -will to- thing...talk to your doctor about creating a plan for success...good luck!
Zyban helped my brother quit twice. I tried it and cut right down but still needed the 1 or 2 smokes a day. I also tried the patch but nothing at all happened with that. If you find anything else works let me know, Im in the same perdicament! :(

My loved one has tried and tried to quit for years and now has a disease where she must quit but wants to do it her own way which is not working. She won-t listen to any advice or suggestions. My family wants to step in and do an intervention like is sometimes done with alcoholics or drug addicicts. Any advice?
Take a quick click to a great website,
http://www.whyquit.com

They gave me the courage and ammunition to quit cold turkey January 11, 2007! Never Take Another Puff!!

Free Videos and stories of people just like your loved one is what they need. I think you will be amazed!
I would think it would depend on her personality. Would she understand why you-re doing it? Or would she be insulted?

Myself, I-d probably smoke ten times as much if someone did that to me, just to show them to leave me alone. Of course, I-m somewhat of an a$$. Maybe she would react better.
It works as long as the person knows you love them and only want the best for them. Me and my friends did it for my brother and it worked quite well, he doesn-t smoke any more and is more healthy than he ever was before.

Hi,

It is best, not be reminded about the time when you were a smoker. To overcome any such thoughts is by replacing the habit with something good such as a fitness program.

BTW, you are a winner, keep it up !

Have you quit smoking? How did you stay quit? What tips can you give me as my cravings are very big. I am not using patches or anything as I want the nicotine to flush out of my system.
GOOD FOR YOU!!!!
Kudos, well done!!!
I quit 10 yrs ago. Gum helps, but I used the patch, it didn-t really help. One of the things I learnt is the habit is harder to break than the addiction.
It helps if you change your actions around the times you most want to smoke. Go for a walk after meals. Every time you feel like a cigarette have a big glass of water.
You can do it.
YAAA!!!! GO GO GO.
Cheering helps, share every day with a friend or family member, someone on your side.
Beware of smoking dreams, every quitter I have talked to gets them. You wake up thinking OMG I went out and was smoking last night. You get very angry with yourself and sad too. Then before Your foot hits the floor you realize that you stayed home last night. Then your relieved and amused.

Kudos again for your accomplishment.
My son helped me to quit, he told me he didn-t want me to die..worked for me. I replaced the cravings with my favorite gum and getting active, it helps to keep the mind off of it.
No, I haven-t quit yet, but I am sometime soon...Congratulations to you though, I hope to get to the point were you are at
I quit cold turkey........and never went back...cigarettes are killers
good for you that you quit....chew gum if you think about and crave smoking..good luck..
Congrats on two weeks! I chewed gum and that worked best for me. I have a friend who took up knitting so she had something to do with her hands while she was watching tv. Good luck. I know it is hard, but it is worth it.
CONGRATS,YES,I HAVE, WILL POWER,SUCKING ON HARD CANDY,YOU WILL GET HEADACHES,TYLENOL SHOULD DO THE TRICK. GOOD LUCK AND BE STRONG I BELIEVE IN YOU,REMEMBER HOW HEALTHY IT IS FOR YOU
Hey way to go!! I quit smoking 2 yrs ago. I smoked a pack and a half for twenty years. I did use the patch and gum for the first couple of weeks. I chewed on straws and avoided social situations that made me want to smoke ( going to the bar). I kicked the hand to mouth habit first, then weaned off the nicotine. After 14 days the nicotine in your system is gone but you will still have to fight the terrible cravings for another couple of months. I still want a smoke when I get a whiff of one. But I know if I lite up it-s done I-ll go right back to it. Just fight the good fight and keep up the good work.!!!
I quit in March last year. I did cold turkey but at the same time I had hayfever so it was even easier. I just started eating properly and walking cos I was paranoid about the -phantom weight gain-, which isn-t true if your active. It-s surprising how after a few weeks your tastebuds start to work again and your senses come back to life.

Just keep yourself occupied. Anything overly exciting tended to bring on my cravings but they don-t last too long. You just need self control. Good luck!!!!
Its not just the nicotine. Its also the other 50+ chemicals they out in cigarettes. Also the main problem is habit.
We have been used to having body sensations which we translate as -my body needs something, which we have attempted to satisfy by having a cigarette.
When we try to stop smoking, we still get these -my body needs something- sensations, and we still feel that we want a cigarette. We have to train our body to be more selective. When we feel we need something, we have to work out what it is that we actually need.
A glass of water is an excellent substitute if nothing else comes to mind, as it helps with the clearance of the toxic substances in our body. Another good substitute is a bag of salted peanuts, used in combination with the water.
Another thing to do is to find an activity which occupies the mind or body. Go swimming - nobody wants to smoke while they are swimming. Slowly, as our body adjusts and translates the -want something- feelings into something other than cigarettes, then the feelings begin to go away. We know its not a cigarette that the body really needs, because as soon as we-ve had one we still have the feeling, and want another!
Fasting can get the nicotine out of your body. See this site with quotes from 11 MDs.

http://phifoundation.org/fast.html

Good job! I am a non smoker, but on my opinion, you should fast for a while and relax and when your mind tells you to smoke, just ignore it, and you-ll be fine. That-s how I got off eating too much cake and coffee!!!
I so need to quit, but the bad part is that I like it...I know I know, we arent supposed to think that way. It is killing me, and stinky, not to mention expensive - just been so hard to give up. Ive tried over and over..

Congrats to you though - keep it up!
your best bet is to get a hobby something that involves thought and focus but yet something that you engoy doing. for me it was assembleing those plastic model cars. If you are going to do something like that though start with the simple ones so you dont get stressed and want a cigarette. Another suggestion is to think of really close friend and every time you desire a cigarette call him/her about what is stressing you out and about your craving. these two tricks helped me i-ve been without a cigarette for 2 years after 5 years of smoking.
!!!heres the info on smoking!!!
Its bad 4 u
It can kill u
You can get lung cancer
You can cause second hand smoking for others
It can be addicting
IVE never smoked

How 2 stop?
Fight the craves with other good stuff like veggies and fruit
Every time you want to smoke think about what ur Doin 2 u and others
Tell people you want to quit .... they can help u stop

thats all i got hope u succeed
Bravo! I wish I could do the same. Keep it up!
Try going to the park every once in a while to get away from stress, or hang out with some friends. Less stress you have the less you-ll feel the need or craving to smoke.
Don-t think about as in hours or minutes or days. It will only seem like it has been forever since your last puff.
Get support from family and friends. Call them when you think you might start again.
Stay away from tabacco shops and don-t but any ciggeretts.
Chewing gum, cooking, taking a walk, watvhing a movie, being with friends, you know just activites you become caught up in so you don-t think about smoking.
It is a long road but it is good that you stopped.

how soon after quititting I should think about kids?
Congratulations on quitting smoking. :)

My mom quit smoking about a year before she had me when she married. She married in April 1961. I was born June 1962.

Both my brother (born 1965) and I turned out fine.

I wish you well.
DON-T EVEN HAVE KIDS. If you are going to harm your life by smoking don-t worry bout having kids. You can harm them and your life.

How to help a friends father quit smoking? -

My friend-s father wants to quit smoking. He hasn-t smoked a single cigarette in a whole week. He claims that his body hurts from the sudden lack of nicotine. Also, he has high blood pressure, so he says that the nicotine gum would increase it (i dont really know about the patch itself). He refuses to go to the doctor as well.

Is there any other way for him to stop smoking? (he really wants to quit)
I smoke Myvic electronic cigarette. It-s much healthier and has no impact to others whatsoever. It-s cheaper and I can use it absolutely anywhere, cause it doesn-t have tobacco, or burning process. The -smoke- which is produced is actually a vapour, which is harmless to others around.

I got it from here if you-re interested: www.myvic.co.uk
I have quit after 25 years of smoking I don-t think one can quit using any alternate I have had tried many times and even I started again after sixmonths but this time it is now 5 years and 7 months I did-nt smoke and it is only and only will power does-nt matter he should take medicicine for his blood pressure but not any alternate for smoking not even gum he must go on like this with his will power I have noticed that smoking can be given off by will power only, may God help him to give off this slow poisoning
His body might really hurt from stopping smoking -- there-s something called smoker-s flu that can make people feel really sick:

http://www.stopsmoking.net/expect-quit.h…

If you want to help him quit smoking, the best thing you can do is support him and tell him he-s making the right decision. Provide positive feedback and reinforcement. Tell him not to bother with hypnosis!
I have quit after 50 years of smoking, and I accomplished it by dipping pouches called Wolf packs! Tobacco in a pouch. Not the best way but it stave-s off cravings for a cigarette! Best of Luck! A little will power don-t hurt either!
Introduce your friends father to Hypnosis.
Because Hypnosis is the best way to help you to quit smoking quickly, easily and inexpensively.
There are lots of natural ways to reduce the side effects of quitting. You can get some free trials and see if they help. You can find many ways to help him at this site my friends have used and they succeeded at quitting.
here you can find all about how to stop smoking easy
Try to chew gum NOT nicotine gum... umm also he should take meds for his blood pressure if he already doesn-t. this is all I can think of. Hope this helps

What is the best way to quit smoking without using medications? -

In fact many people are turning to quit smoking without medication. This is also called cold turkey. You just decide to stop and that-s it. You throw everything away.

There are two ways to do it either by using herbal remedies or just stopping and enduring the thunderous withdrawal symptoms. I find herbal remedies desirable because they involve a total detox of your entire body and at the same time deal with any other ailments not necessarily related to your smoking. they leave you feeling revived. Herbs have a natural way to deal with smoking withdrawal symptoms too.

Whichever is the most appropriate for you ( herbal or cold turkey) combine it with a quitting program. There are many available for free online were you set your quit date in advance and line up all your structured strategy. You follow each stage step by step.

Research has shown that combining your quitting chosen way with a program spikes success rates.

p/s You can purchase herbal remedies from online pharmacies like RiteAid.com
mind over matter......

do you control you
or
do your cigarettes control you

GOOD LUCK!!!

Been smoking for about 3 1/2 years now, im 18, and i want to quit, but i dont seem to have the will power, i used the gum and inhaler but nothing, alwas went back to it. Help? =) I smoke 1/2 a pack a day
Went to a hynotist (Romane) on Feb 19, 2005 and haven-t smoked since. This was after the patch, gum, Zyban and cold turkey all failed. I figured what-s another $75 after all the money I spent on all that other useless stuff? Good luck, and oh yeah I quit after smoking 18 years!
For some people it works if instead of smoking, you eat mints. I think it works, because I don-t smoke but I love mints, it keeps my mind off of other foods. Also, if you think about how you could die VERY early if you keep smoking, or maybe think about your girlfriend, and how she would love it if you quit smoking, or something like that. -good luck quitting!
i used the patch, i had smoked for almost 10 years. it worked great. My husband also used it, we-ve been smoke free for almost 13 years : ) good luck!
Without a doubt, the nicoderm CQ worked for me. First, identify your triggers. Mine were...behind the steering wheel, on the phone - when I had coffee. Then I placed healthy snax in those locations, such as carrot - celery stix, cinnamin sticks, etc to feed my hand/mouth addiction. Also, drinking distilled water (up to 7 gallons) helps pull the nicotene out of your system quicker. The Nicoderm patch absolutely cut my cravings. I smoked 2 1/2 pax for years - now I-ve been smoke-free for about 15 years.
Determination and -cold turkey- is the only way. I found that out when I was up to 3-4 packs a day and couldn-t breathe.

Chow!!
Try the nicotine patch. I never smoked, so I-m probably not much help, but good luck.
Eating. Every time you have a cig your body releases sugar into your bloodstream which is why smoking acts as an appetite suppressant. Try eating grapes. I was going through 3 or 4 bunches a day for the first week. I ate a lot of other rubbish too, I-d avoid that if I were you. You should find the cravings diminish with time.
Use that with patches to kill the nicotine withdrawal and you might be golden.

Remember, you will only quit if you-re ready, quitting because you probably should generally doesn-t work.
I am a recovering smoker of 10 whole days :) I know my method is one of the worst, but I don-t have the $$ for any of the aides. I quit cold turkey, the things that helped were staying away from my friends that smoke and reminding myself that I want to be around to see my children grow up. ( if you don-t have any, think of the things in the future you may miss by cutting your life short) A big thing that helped, I am only 22 and had to go in for a biopsy of some spots in my mouth on Jan. 30 to see if I had oral cancer, found out yesterday I don-t, thank God, but it was enough of a scare to make me not want to smoke anymore. Some things that may also help is when you want to smoke chew a piece of gum, suck on a hard candy, something like that. I know my suggestions are probably not very helpful, but this has worked for me for 10 days and counting. GOOD LUCK - STAY STRONG!!
ask your doctor about -Chantix- it is a new prescription med that blocks the brains receptors that take nicotine. I-ve dispensed a lot of it lately, and people tell me it-s working.
I-m 43 and have been smoking since I was 18, pack and a half a day. I quit cold turkey, it has been 6 months. Cold turkey is the only way to quit a real addiction. All those gums and inhaler, and patches just aide and cover up, they are still supplying you with the drug. If you are serious, just put them down and walk away, done.
I went cold turkey and PRAYED. I smoked for 12 years and quit 4 yrs and 2 mos ago.
I don,t think there is a best method I just take it one day at a time and try to find the will power from somewhere.

My friend needs to find a part time job, but wont quit smoking pot, how can I get her to quit for now? -

All places of employment in Florida drug test their employees. My friend needs to find a job but refuses to quit smoking pot daily....any suggestions?
you can-t make her quit; i-d just say -look - you need a job and you can-t get one if you-re a toker. choose which is more important: a job or pot-

if she-s an idiot, she-ll pick pot and then you won-t want to hang out with her ;)
Even restaurants drug test? I only ask because waiting tables is a GREAT way to meet fellow potheads....
If I were you though, I-d just wish her luck and let her handle it on her own. If she really wants a job she can sacrifice the green for a couple of weeks. It sounds like she doesn-t give a damn either way.
Your friend is her own person and needs to work out her own issues and do what she needs to do. It can be hard watching a friend go on a path of self destruction but this is her journey and she needs to walk it. All you can do is support her while she does so. peace out
If she wants to throw her life away by smoking weed every day, let her. I mean, it-s cool with me to do once in a while but those who do it every single freaking day are just losers.
You can-t make other people do anything that they don-t want to do. Unless you-re a police officer making an arrest, or something similar, of course.

You can try talking with your friend. If you do that, make sure that you talk to her as somebody who cares about her. If she doesn-t want to quit smoking out, then lecturing her and such is only going to make her more adamant about lighting up.
They drug test for part time jobs? I highly doubt it (no pun intended). It is usually the big companies or skilled work where a person would be tested. Any part time job is not likely to drug test. On the other hand if she doesn-t have a job it-s not a good idea to spend money on something she doesn-t need.
You can-t. You can try to get them to stop for a little while but they will start right back up. But I know them too, they just but some special system flusher so when they take the piss test there clean.
My friend needs to find a part time job, but wont quit smoking pot, how can I get her to quit for now? -

Every time I seriously try to quit smoking, I get a cold. Anybody know anything about this? -

I am using the patch for the nicotine addiction, but I get cold symptoms as I cut way down to almost no cigarettes ( that one with coffee in the morning - after dinner are hard to give up). Is is like giving up any other narcotic? How long will it last? Anybody have this problem? I started smoking as a teenager, about 30 yrs. now. I-d like to know how long it -s going to take to get over this.

Thanks!
What are your cold symptoms? runny nose, little bit of a cough? This is your lungs detoxing. It-s always going to happen. Quit soon!
I quit a 55 + year habit and over 5 packs a day

I know that one can quit if they want to
Please don-t give up!! My Mom smoked her WHOLE life and gave it up about 7 years ago..if she did it, so can YOU. I AM so grateful that I will not have to sit in a hospital someday and watch her die...think of how your loved ones will MISS you if you don-t quit...if you can-t do it for yourself, do it for them.

I smoked for ten years, and KNOW how hard it is...I ended up in the hospital because of it, and quit when I was 23...I-m now 36...and so happy that I quit when I did. The older you get, the harder it is...so, you are the perfect age to quit...there is NO better time than now...you can do it!

Here-s a great article giving you some strategies to cope with the withdrawal symptoms, and below that is my personal advice for the cold symptoms!!

To stop smoking is hard, and most smokers cannot quit - and if they do - it is only for a short time. More and more people are getting into the natural way of doing things anymore, and using herbs to stop smoking is a very popular method for smokers today. Those who have been able to quit smoking with using herbs as a preventive, swear by them as a successful aid. They help in combating the withdrawal symptoms that every smoker faces when he tries to give up smoking. Among other things, the herbal cures lead to positive mood swings and reduce the urge to light another cigarette.

One of the natural substances that can be used by people when they want to quit smoking is Lobelia, or Indian tobacco, an old and controversial herb that has recently become popular to smokers who want to quit the habit and cannot. Used for centuries as an expectorant that cleans the lungs, it was used for asthma, bronchitis, whooping cough, or pleurisy. Many uses are connected with Lobelia - relaxants, antispasmodics, diaphoretics, reducing inflammations and pain, poultices, hyperactivity, easing muscle tension or convulsions - which go back in history until its recent popularity today. Many believe it makes the taste of regular tobacco -repulsive- while other naturalists use it to clam the nerves and relax the body muscles, easing mild depression. Lately, current evidence suggests the herb Lobelia can produce similar effects on the human body as nicotine, yet is not addictive and helps eliminate the desire to smoke. There is trouble when it is overused, such as vomiting, drowsiness, weak pulse, and respiratory failure.

Another herb is the Mimosa tea (-mimosa hostilis-), a perennial evergreen shrub that is native to northeastern Brazil and also found in southern Mexico. The root bark is the choice part of the plant, traditionally used in the preparation of a psychoactive sacramental beverage. Giving up smoking may make you feel anxious, or give you a headache but a strong cup of Mimosa tea can boost your mood and help you calm down. It is not addictive and is recommended for use instead of anti-depressant medicines. Similarly, the traditional Chinese CaoSu herb diminishes the desire to smoke.

Smoking non-tobacco cigarettes look like regular cigarettes and are available in many flavors like burnt sienna and menthol. They offer the same sensation while smoking as regular cigarettes but are healthier because they don-t contain nicotine or tar. However, you must consult your doctor before taking these or any herbal medicines, because many of them may contain substances similar to drugs. You must also eat lots of raw or lightly steamed fresh fruits and vegetables, drinking lots of water, fruit juice, herbal tea, etc, to flush out the nicotine. Try taking hot baths, whirlpool baths, and saunas. These make you feel better, and reduce the urge to smoke. Another way to fight the craving for nicotine is to chew on a large flavored toothpick, or squirt juice into your mouth. Similarly, drinking herbal tea, which is made from five different herbs, can help you to fight the urge to smoke.

Non smokers, why do you think you know best how to quit smoking? -

Non smokers, why do you think you know best how to quit smoking? -

I am a smoker and have tried 3 different times to quit since Aug 2006 and have acquired 30+days at a time but always let something or someone cause me to start up again. . . .I-m not done,I quit drinking 10+yrs ago and I-m GONNA beat this smoking deal as well.
I have gotten the advise from smokers ,those who have quit smoking and non smokers alike on how to stay stopped. . . Oh Boy!
Sometimes I think it is like you have been told by someone else, non smokers don-t know how addictive smoking is. It is compared to being addicted to heroine.
I think too that non smokers think they are smarter people. Not just because they never picked up smoking but smarter in general.
Alot of non smokers I have been around seem to be just very critical people and seem to just have that Holier Than Thou attitude.
Take a look at alot of those -non-smokers-. Some use dip, some smoke cigars, some smoke pipes and truth be know,in this day and time there ARE some of these -non-smokers- who partake of things other than tobacco. . .if you get my drift.
There are too those -non-smokers- who have their own vices. . . too much spending, too much eating, too much drinking etc and as they saying goes. . .-The first one without sin, cast the first stone-.
I wish I would have NEVER picked up cigarettes but the fact is that I did and I have to deal with that but that doesn-t make me the scum of the earth as non-smokers will try to make me feel like.
This is a Country with a guarantee of Personal Rights. . .as every day goes by,these -non-smokers- take more and more of the rights of us smokers and our rights are getting lesser and lesser and I accept that because of the health problems from second hand smoke etc but come one, smokers actually pay more taxes than the non-smokers because of cigarette taxes which in the State of TX just went up a $1.00pk so these people need to realize that they too get benefits from us -Scums of the Earth-.
When I am able to finally give up cigarettes I sincerely hope that as with alcohol I NEVER become one of those Self Righteous I Did it therefore you should be able to do it type of person. . . .NO ONE IS BETTER THAN ANOTHER! ! ! !
I smoked for over 55 years, I quit a 5 pack a day habit

Not to many smoke more than that and live

A you smoke how much?

Remeber too, Non smokers might have had a family member die
because of smoking

About 24% of the non smokers who have COPD are victims of second hand smoke
Because a lot of nonsmokers never smoked, they are unaware of how addictive it is.

I have never smoked, but I know that my husband has struggled with it and has been difficult to quit.
because we were clever enough not to start
Because I was a smoker !

There you go for more info :
http://index-go.com/health_fitness_medic…

a lot of non smokers only know the facts, such as : Smoking is very harmful to your body and to others. Smoking Kills. Its dangerous -

But they don-t realize how addictive the nicotine is. It becomes almost all consuming, because you need it so badly.
Actually, I don-t think I know best. I-ve never smoked, so I don-t have a clue as to how to quit. I do have sense enough to know that smoking is an addiction, and all addictions are hard to beat.
because we dont smoke and dont indulge on that addiction
I know how to quit because I quite smoking after 18 years
Because I used to be a smoker...now I am a non-smoker ;)
i dont know why but i do! I guess because we really care for the people and want them to quit

I just quit smoking, what are ways I can slowly but surely repair my lungs? -

The phlegm will get worse before it gets better, you will cough up brown tar for at least a week, and this can be more unpleasant than the smokers cough you might have already had. Be sure to treat yourself very nicely, hot baths to ease the congestion, soothing drinks of hot lemon with your favourite spirit, and lots and lots of fresh FRESH air - great lungfuls of it, at every opportunity.
Believe me, you-ll begin by coughing like an old horse, but within a few short days, your lung function will be on the way to normal. Then you will feel ready for those long Autumn walks in the country, a bicycle ride, run with the dog...

Talk to your nurse - get her to take a lung function test from you at this point, then get her to re-test you every few weeks, you-ll get a medical opinion on your progress and will obtain some invaluable support.

Well done, girl. Now you smell as sweet as you are.
your lungs naturally clean themselves every 3-7 days. so basically you just wait. i-m pretty sure the statistics are, lung function improved 60% in 6 months after quitting smoking. and just to say, the only reason you don-t die from the tar in cigarettes very fast is because your lungs clean themselves often, and are very efficient, considering tar is the stuff that dinosaurs drowned in.
I don-t think you could totally repair your lungs because smoking damages them pretty badly. But I would try to do some very lite exercise (like walking) to possibly rebuild stronger and healthier breathing habits.
Hi if you really want to quit smoking fast watch this video and make it favorite.

It-s not mine, but it is really good, and helpful.

Congratulations on having quit that habit. I-m not a doctor so I don-t know but I am sure they will be glad to give you some advise.
You don-t need to do anything special. Just don-t smoke again!

How long have you smoked for and how many times have you tried to quit?
Im ready to quit.
Any good tips ?
use the patch or gum or go to the doctor and have him give you a prescription for chantix.drink plenty of water, keep your teeth and tongue brushed.get lots of fresh air and good luck.
I, for one, wish you all the very best in your endeavours to improve your health!! Good on ya mate ................... couple of tips I think are usefull dietary wise:

Green capsicum and apples seem to drastically reduce the nictoine cravings, strange but true.

Also, drink plenty of fresh filtered water and loose leaf green tea as it is chock full of vitamin C and other antioxidants which protect our precious immune systems from ravaging by the damage smoking causes.

GOOD LUCK

CHEERS
I-m allergic to cigarette smoke, so I-ve never even been tempted to smoke, but you could maybe try the patch or the gum. I-m probably not helping at all, because you-ve probably already tried that. Sorry.
Well I had been smoking for 35 years and I am trying to quit. Cold turkey didn-t work. I have to say I haven-t bought any cigarettes since April. I started puffing around on cigars and now I am ready to get rid of them. I have had several friends that has quit using a new drug they came out with here lately. All of them reported the same results after about a week you do not want anything to smoke. Some did report nightmares when taking the drug. I guess that will be my next step if I have any problem quitting the cigars. Good luck.
Yes the first three days are pretty bad. After that its a bit easier but you never really quit you just takes long breaks in between. Anthony Pittarelli has taken many breaks, one break was three years but I found myself coming back.

Anthony Pittarelli
i just quited yesterday.. lols...
i really have to quit thats why i quit...

this is how i quit... when im waiting for my friend outside a mall, i light up a cigarette... i took me an hour but still he is not around... i light up another one but still he is not around till i ride a taxi...
when im on my way home, im filling dizzy, it seems like i wanted to vomit... it feels like im in too much cigar that time, i dont know, thats my first time to feel like that after smoking...
it is airconditioned inside the car, but im sweating alot, i feel im suffocated, and i taste and smell the cigar, then it feels like its hard to breath... im really feeling like i wanted to vomit... till i got home, i still feel like that... i go to somewhere near tree, i breath alot till i can breath easy... i gargle with water and drink juice then took a rest... when i woke up, im feeling better... after that, i really told my self not to smoke...

by the way, ive been smoking for 5 years... i think, this is the time for me to stop... im only 19 years old...

just think that your lungs are already like a rotten meat... so you will stop from smoking...
i quit the day i said i would.i just decided one day id do it and did.just do it.really put ur mind to it.its all in ur head.its the easiest thing in the world.what good has smoking done 4 u???????????????
All you have to do is outlast the 3-day hump. If you manage to get past three whole days without even a puff, you-re free.
i never. alos add me to your contact. i put you to my contact

How soon after I quit smoking can I start working on my cardiovascular endurance? -

Yesterday.
please see a doctor, you don-t want to guess on anything with the heart, but also your own research is good to counterpoint it
How about right now? Even smokers (tsk tsk) should do exercises to improve their cardiovascular health. Start moving, no matter how slowly and do a little more each day. It may take weeks to feel stronger and to be able to -go the distance- but perserverance will bring the desired effect. Congratulations on quitting (assuming you have quit). Make it the last time you ever have to quit. Lung cancer is a dreadful way to die. A heart attack can-t be much fun either. Stay focused on the ong and healthy life you WANT to live.
immediately
immediately
Ask your doctor, to be sure.
You can probably start a light walking routine, immediately.
why wait? thats silly. start right now.
ASAP

How to quit smoking after 40 years ? -

I have smoked 40 years and want so badly to quit my body says it is time but my brain thinks differently Dang i have tried it all any new things out there
Cold turkey worked for me 20 years ago.
I smoked 2 packs a day.

I set a target quitting date that I had no control over (when cigarettes reached $2 a pack.)

Of course, I never would have made it without my Tic Tacs.
Popping one or two into my mouth and playing with the box to keep my hands busy.
try eating gum just to get smoking out of ur mind........
jog around ur apartment or house.........
eat something else............
for example: u smoke 15 times a day, then tomorrow just smoke 14, and then keep eating less and less and may b u can make it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*i no to mee this sounds easy but i no its hard but try ur best!!!!!!
good luck!!!!!
janus if you like i will give you the whole run down on what works,i smoked as long as you and have quit for almost 4 months now and don-t want a ciggarette!
Ok, I-m gonna go slow here.. try to keep up.
1. Put the ciggarette down.
2. Check out Matt Godsons program: http://doiop.com/one-hour-quit
Chantix, far better than the older stop smoking meds. If that doesn-t work, do a search for -mini e cigarette.-
Try lobelia
and there`s stop in 7 day program

How do I quit smoking so much? -

I-ve been stressed for a long time now. But things seem to be calming down. I started smoking almost a pack a day when I was smoking about half. Now I try to lessen my smoking to eventually quit but it seems like I-m buying a pack everytime I turn around. How to I slowly decrease it???
I think this is one of your best decisions. You must know what are the advantages of quitting:

http://www.knowabouthealth.com/cigarette…

This will keep you motivated throughout. My friend was chain smoker and he quit. He use to say, just be mentally strong and you can do it. Here are some tips that helped him:

http://www.knowabouthealth.com/8-easy-ti…

You could create a bank account set up with enough to buy a pack a day for 3 months, and then make it last for six months, and only use that bank account for buying them.

Or, for the next year or so, every two weeks smoke one less a day.

Fact is, it-s pretty easy to read about, and almost impossible to do. And no one ever truely quits.
You have to want to quit, I mean real bad. By far the hardest thing I have ever done physically. Once you get past the 1st 2 weeks it gets easy to say no. If your friends smoke, that will not help, wont work guarantee it.

The way I did it is I sat and smoked a whole pack, one after another. Trust me you won-t want another after that.
one day I woke up so tired off course coughing all night. I promised my self I will never smoke again.

2 years passed still not smoked and with god well will never do.

I smoked 22 years before that.

you need strong well

you know its bad for you for your health and you smell bad

do it
Depends on you
Cold Turkey, Gum. Medicine, Therapy

How ever your body deals with is the best way

People there tell there stories on how they quit
Try the gum or patch. Or if its just smoking you want to get away from you can buy a tin and dip. But thats kinda just trading one bad thing for another. Good luck.
Just quit cold turkey, that-s what I did. No aids, no medications, nothing. I got up one day and decided I was done. I haven-t smoked since.

I am going to quit smoking tomorrow does the commit lounges work are is cold turkey the best way? -

Every time I have quit I have gone cold turkey I have no shortage of will ;power for about 2 weeks then I start to think I can have just one and pretty soon am smoking just as much as before so I guess it just depends on how much you want it. Have used the patch and that works like a charm if you can afford it the lozenges work really well if you can stomach the taste they kind of burn the sides of your mouth and drain down the back of your throat but they do work to stop the cravings for me the best way to stop smoking was getting pregnant was too sick to smoke and didnt want to harm the baby good luck to you
I am still a smoker but the patch/ cold turkey is the best way... I have heard
everyone is different. they did not work for my bf.
he is trying hypnosis this month.
if it helps, i recently read that cigeretts were found to be not as addicting as they say. what is addicting is the supposed subliminal messages in the tv ads...when they used to be on..not sure how that effects the people that started smoking after the ads were banned..
good luck with them.
i quite smoking, but didn-t do it cold turkey really. the hardest part is your body going through nicotine fits. I found that by using Cinnamon flavored toothpaste and mouthwash helped out a lot, it made the cigs taste nasty. also, picking up a new habit helps, I started calligraphy. give it a try, oh yeah, eat a healthy breakfast and snack on carrot sticks.
My mom has stopped a few times and she uses chewing gum Trident and then when she was really craving she would chew a nicorette to get rid of the craving.God she let me try one and it tastes like an ashtray but if u r dying 4 a cig then it helps but ya any chewing gum can work .Good luck n hope u can do it.

Why is it SO hard to quit smoking? -

Why is it SO hard to quit smoking? -

I smoked almost 10 years ..almost every day - was able to put them down like that. No hypnosis, Zyban, patches or gum. I also didn-t turn into a porker. If anything I lost more weight. Same with coffee - liquor which I rarely touch either.
It-s harder than most people think but hardest of all can be the will power and determination of a MAN.Both are true. Can be done.
I have never smoked, but have observed the battles of people around me to stop smoking. For example, my girlfriend. She quit very easily when in love with a non-smoker by putting a potted plant in the middle of the ashtray and then telling her love, -I can′t smoke anymore because there′s a flower in my ashtray.- The flower was then a gift to her love. Later, when infatuation faded and she started to look around for someone else to love, she discovered most of her candidates were smokers and that she still longed, after five years of abstinence, for the fragrance, flavor and feel of a cigarette. She discovered though, that -you can′t have just one- and the instant addiction annoyed her. Now she continues to try to be a social smoker, going through the withdrawal symptoms over and over again...From this example I see that quitting is not the actual problem. It is, first of all, finding the desire in yourself to quit and second of all, not being seduced into going back by sexy people with lighters in their hands offering contact by sharing a taste for tobacco.
TO QUIT SMOKING IS HARD !! I LIKE YOU QUIT WITH NO TROUBLE . I KNOW NOT ALL PEOPLE CAN DO THAT . BUT DON,T QUIT TRYING !!!!! I,M ALSO A RECOVERING ALCOHOLIC AND I,VE BEEN SOBER FOR 32 YR-S . THE 2 BEST THINGS I,VE EVER DONE FOR MYSELF !!! KEEP GOING
its to do with your brain.... when you start smoking it increases the amount of receptors in your brain that crave nicotine.... when you stop supplying it, the receptors go crazy.... there is actually a vaccine available, that cuts off the receptors.... maybe you didnt have alot of receptors or the receptors didnt react to the nictotine.
If you were able to put them down so easy, why in the world did you spend a whole 10 years killing yourself slowing with tar? Not to mention all the second hand smoke you put out in those 10 years! if you were not addicted and it was that easy to just put them down why did you chose to smoke? I don-t understand.

When I quit smoking it was hard, very hard, because I was addicted. I got through it though and am sooo glad I did.

I quit smoking, what can I do to curve my appetite? -

Ok, I quit like 7-8 months ago, but all I want to do is EAT!! I am half tempted to smoke again to get skinny. What can I do to curve my appetite or what can I eat constantly that wont add to my weight?
Drink a lot of water. whenever you start to feel hungry, drink water. (use lemon and lime juice to make it tasty, without the cals). You-ll pee a lot, but you won-t be taking in a lot of cals or sugar.
How about the mini carrots ,celery, smoking is a hand to mouth thing lollipops are good. You should be very proud of yourself...... Don-t light up drink alot of water how about fruit.?
suck on peppermint candy

veggies, lean meats lots of water do cardio, lift weights, toning exc and my scaled are not moving.
What can I do to increase my weight loss?
I know the quitting smoking may counter affect it here???????
I quit 3 weeks ago.
Actually, as long as you continue on this path, you will continue to make progress. However, I recommend that you use a measuring tape instead of a scale to measure your progress. Muscle is denser than fat and you are probably gaining muscle. I am willing to bet that none of your clothe sizes are listed in pounds or kilograms. Also, here are some links to a free meal plan and sample workout if you want to add some variety.
Excellent. It means that your percentage bodyfat is in a nose dive.

that is a very positive action. continue to do that until your whole system get use to it.
treat yourself to a hair dresser and you can do that
not sure how much you are doing cardio....you need to do at least 45 - 60 minutes of cardio a day for 5-6 days a week if you want to see the scales move!
Try to eat more heathly meals during the day 5-6. small breakfast, snack, good lunch, snack, good dinner.

Also, when doing cardio...vary the intensity...walk run or walk/jog...this will kick your body into fat burning mode! If your running and getting your heart rate up too high, then your past the point of fat burn...so a walk/run or jog is better. Do these two things and you-ll see the pounds melt off.
Exercise everyday like jogging around the block
Skip meals. Eat 2 times per day than 3 times per day
Dont eat until you-re full
Eat fruits at night if your hungry.
Drinks lots of water and stop all the fast food and chocolate.
I found this on this website. There are more tips and info.
there-s a video on success fitness too.
Have you cut out caffiene? Also fitness/wrestling expert Matt Furey says eat a apple a half hour before each meal. I dropped 8 pounds in two weeks just by quitting the coffee and started the apple eating routine. I will let you know if I drop any more. I hope it works out for you and you stay off the ciggies.

I just recently quit smoking, cold turkey. Now Im experiencing cold/allergy like symptoms.? -

Is it normal to feel a sore throat, congestion, and sort of wheezing? I never felt this while I smoked. I smoked for about 1 yr and gradually got up to smoking a pack every 2-3 days. Now that I have stopped, I don-t so much have cravings but just these symptoms. Any former smokers experience anything similar?
You are going to go through a whole flurry of symptons which is your body repairing itself and adjusting. The symptoms you described are normal as will the constipation, the vivid dreams (I had those), etc.
Your body is detoxing.
You will have -flu like symptoms.-

You are doing great, just hang in there.

This too shall pass.

I just quit smoking and want to run and lift. Is there some sort of begginers program I can do? -

I-m 26/m.
Absolutely. Try walking slowly outside for five minutes, jog for five (or until you feel too tired to jog any more), and start running lightly for as long as you want to run, and then repeat the process backward (jog, then walk). If you feel faint at any time, slow down.

As for lifting weights, start low weight (bar without weights should do it) and build up.

Simply add time/weight when you feel up to it.
I sell a nutritional supplement/diet product on my website, however, I have several documents with weight loss tips including a beginner-s exercise routine available on PDF if you-d like to download it. Click on -Success Tools- at the website listed below and you-ll see the PDF for the Walking Program.
Good luck and congrats on stopping smoking! I quit 3 years ago and I feel soooooooooooooo much better. Wise of you to start working out too. I gained weight right away after I quit because I didn-t get any exercise.
Congratulations. I don-t quite understand your question though. Do you mean an excercise program? Running is easy, just do it, but don-t overdo it.
CONGRATULATIONS ON QUITTING!!!

I am one month into quitting. Every day is a struggle. I smoked for almost 10 years.

I rewarded myself by getting a membership to the local rec center. I have been working out 3 days a week for the past 3 weeks. I use the elipse machine for about an hour. THen do some light lifting on my legs and arms for about another half hour. I ususally walk around town on the off nights.

HINT - I replaced the pack of smokes I always carried around with a bottle of water. When I have a craving, I take a swig and it goes away. I am drinking up to 10 bottles everyday and feeling great. Haven-t peed yellow in a month HAHAHA

Don-t know what will work best for you - but do something. YOu won-t regret it!!

Remember - the physical addiction to nicotine passes after 3 days, after that it-s about the mental addiction. Cravings last about 10 seconds, you can wait it out.

do you have a have a YMCA nearby? They have great programs, esp. for beginners...if not, start slow, esp. if you havn-t been working out...15-20 minutes of cardio every day(moderate activity) is good..mix it up..not all running...weight lifting every other day start slow..so you don-t get too sore and get discouraged....Well Done for quitting smoking!!!
I just quit smoking and want to run and lift. Is there some sort of begginers program I can do? -

ok so im a teenager and my friend started smoking, and he drinks and has tried pot-weed. I keep telling him how stupid he is and that this could kill him but he wont listen. he just thinks hes cool. so what do i do?
cut the bud off a cigarette and make him eat it, hell never want one again. and it shouldnt make him want pot or weed etc.
Hey,

I had seen a guy mentioning a site
http://healthexercisepro.com/

I also went there and the site has got some very nice articles. I really liked the site. I think all the guys who want to quit smoking should have peep in there. It has got lots of articles on quit smoking and health exercise.

Awesome site.

Try it out
Telling him he-s stupid won-t work. You can-t shame a person into quitting. You could try telling him that you worry about him and care about his health, but, in the long run, it-s got to be up to him to decide to quit.
i totally understand. You can-t convince him. if cigarrettes are so -cool- then make him eat one see if he still think they-re COOL. or if he doesn-t listen just throw them all in the trash. lol i have no idea how that-ll work. just trying to help! :)
Tell him that it is not good and get him addicted to something like come or try an old wives tail.
