Anyone have tips to quit smoking? -

i tried cold turkey and i get headaches from it. i have horrible acid reflux and have been trying to quit for about 2 months. any tips?
Yeah, the best advice is that you really have to -WANT TO GIVE UP-.

If you stick to your guns, there will be no noticeable side effects after about three days.

Good Luck.
The headaches are from nicotine withdrawal so you can substitute patches (mild ones.)

The acid reflux is flesh eating digestive enzymes and the burning feeling is actually the acid burning the esophagus.

The esophageal tissue is different then that which is in the stomach.

The acid eventually leaves enough scar tissue in the esophagus that it actually narrows the opening and makes swallowing difficult (schatski-s ring) and may require surgery.

Try laying on your right side at night so the acid can drain into the small bowel. Peanut butter sticks to the roof of the mouth and, in a pinch, swallow some (if you are not allegic to peanuts) and let it slide down the esophagus. Don-t drink anything for a while because you want the peanut butter to coat the esophagus for instant relief.

Or ask your druggest which product he recommends for heart burn.

Use the -X- technique to rid yourself of smoking. Visualize a cigarette and mentally superimpose a big X over the cigarette. Visualize a pack of cigarettes and use the X on it. Visualize a lighter and use the X technique. Do that every time you think about having a cigarette. When you see someone else with a cigarette, use the X technique.

The X is extremely effective is dismissing people and objects from your mind.

Repeat these to yourself constantly

I am happy and content
I like myself
I feel relaxed and peaceful
I am a nonsmoker
No is my favorite word
No works for me
I appreciate the No word.
I say NO to cigarettes
My sense of taste is better
I have a better sense of smell
I feel better
I am likable
I am in the NOW moment
My power if in the NOW moment
I reject cigarettes NOW

Use the thoughts that you feel will be most needed each day. Create you own thoughts, keep them short, in the present tense and avoid the word, -NOT-

It takes 21 days to form a new habit. Start now.

Good luck.

remember to vote
1 Think of reasons you want to quit smoking. For me they were the fact they are $6.50 a pack and I was pushing a pack a day. You can use mine or use your own.

#2 Set a day way but not like tommorrow or a couple of days. For me it was a week so I could reflect and prepare for it. Unexpected cold turkey is not a good idea so, don-t believe those anti-smoking people who never touched a cigarette a day in thier lives.

#3 Just remember, -Mind Over Matter-. The first days will be hard but, you-ll build a better resistance as times go on. You-ll be groggy at first but get your mind off of it and keep on keeping on! You-ll be in situations like socail enviorments where you used to. Refrain for awhile until you build up resistance.
It is said that giving up smoking is the easiest thing in the world because you can always start again. I gave up smoking years back for one reason only. I got scared of the consequences of smoking ie loss of stamina - fear of lung cancer. I used to climb 4 floors by staircase in office avoiding lift. Over a time, I found myself becoming breathless. I gave up smoking for 4-5 days - I found that I could run up the stairs. Also, I found food was tasting better, I was eating more - I was feeling full of energy. I gave up smoking for good - have never touched it again. Just give up - stop worrying about side effects for a short time.
I recently quit smoking. I had been smoking for 18 years. I decided that was that I had to quit. I quit... cold turkey. I know you say you can-t but really that is the best way. I have read research that said 90% of long term ex smokers quit cold turkey. It is the most painful, physically, mentally, and emotionally, but it does produce the best long term results! I was SO addicted. I didn-t think I was going to make it. The physical was so hard for me. I didn-t realize you could withdraw that way from cigarettes! After 4 days the pain wore off and it was then up to your strong will to fight. I can say however, day 3 and 4 was the hardest ever! Then it got better. I would try again, you just have to make up your mind and do it!
Limit yourself, say you-ll only smoke once a day at a specific time, like say for after dinner, then change that to smoking only once every other day, and so on and so forth.

You could try the gum or patches, but I do not know if any of them work.

Good luck.

How do I get my appetite under control after quitting smoking? -

I quit smoking a year and a half ago and have gained 50 lbs. I-d like to get back down to my normal 145 lbs., but it seems like every minute of each day all I think about is food. Am I just bored? With all my extra weight, I don-t have energy to exercise or take up a hobby. Please help! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
you eat only twice a day but eat alot those two times so that you are not hungry for a while. Rather than eating small amounts many times a day
There are a number of things you can do to minimize the effect of your increased appetite. For example, eat raw vegetables and fresh fruit for snacks - such as carrots, apples, etc. They have far fewer calories than manufactured snack foods, and no fat. Drink extra water during the day, especially before meals, to increase the feeling of -fullness- and decrease your appetite. Try to do some exercise, even if it-s only a little bit at a time. Walking is one of the best exercises - explore your town or city on foot. Even fifteen minutes at a time will help you, and you can increase that time gradually as you lose weight and become more fit.
One thing that will help you lose weight: diet pills. I was one of those who did not believe in them until I tried it. And I tried a few. The best product I found on the market is made with pure hoodia and it works great! You can go to
http://www.mylnation.info and order you free trial, also you only pay 6.95$ shipping and handling. Good luck!
Congrats on quitting smoking!!!!
I suggest you to get your mind of food by
doing something crafty. Keep your mind of food by doing a puzzle, or paint by numbers or anything that requires you to
keep busy. It-s like quitting smoking. Same deal. Keep the refrigerator stocked at a minimum and with fruits and vegetables that you can chew on. If you get the urge to eat
chew on an apple, carrots, celery. It-s a complete life change just like when you quit smoking. Don-t keep any sweets at home.
And for exercises start walking just for 10 minutes per day and if you can maybe do this 2 x per day. Get yourself pedals that act like a bike and fit under your coffee table.
Not sure what it-s called but you can move your legs while you watch TV/Movie and
get exercise. Hope this helped and good luck and be proud of yourself that you quit smoking. I am still trying.

I have quit smoking for 8 years, how long does the nicotine stay in your blood? -

nicotine only stays detectable in your blood for 3 days. however, your neuron receptors (nicotine receptors in this case) can continue signaling for nicotine for months and in some cases years. this is why nicotine addiction is so hard to overcome. as for your lungs, they can actually repair themselves. they say that it takes twice the amount of time you smoked for your lungs to recovery completely. congratulations......it-s been 1 year for me.
It is long gone. Nicotine goes away within a few hours. That is why smokers crave so many cigarettes to keep that level high.
forever! y do you think ppl tell you NEVER to smoke everytime you smoked you ruined your body further!
ye all the tar clogs up lil holes in ur lungs
I-m not sure how long it takes to get out of your blood, but your blood cycles through your body and regenerates quickly. It-s your lungs you should be worried about. The tar from smoking will stay in your lungs for a long time. It depends on how long you smoked for, but it can take about 10 years for all of the nasty stuff in your lungs to go away.
Its gone...just the memory remains....good luck

Can I take chantix and use the patch also to quit smoking? -

Can I take chantix and use the patch also to quit smoking? -

if anyone has used chantix to quit smoking please let me know how you did
You can take Chantix or the patch but taking both won-t give you any added benefits. Somehow Chantix causes the brain receptors to not get the -high- from nicotine so taking a nicotine patch with Chantix wouldn-t help.

I took Chantix from October through December of last year. It worked great to get rid of the physical cravings but it did require some will power to overcome the behavioral habit of smoking.

The main side effects seem to be trouble sleeping, upset stomach and vivid dreams. I had all 3 but the first 2 went away after my body got used to the medicine.

Best of luck quitting!

DO NOT use any substitutes like patches, pills, etc, they simply DO NOT work. all you need to do is read a book, aznd as soon as you finish it, you will no longer be a smoker, with NO withdrawals. the book is amazing! worked on me like a charm, and read all the reviews on amazon.

Gonna try to quit smoking been reffered by my GP any advice...? -

How long will it take till I can get the magic pill... Will they make me try the patches etc first. I have tried them many times before they never work for me.. I just end up wearing 4 and still smoking. Then feeling rather sick.
I m sorry to say I smoked for 40 yrs, gave up loads of times for a couple of days. In 2000 I had a heart attack, 2 weeks in Hospital and I swore I would never smoke again. Within 2 weeks of being out I was smoking again. THEN 2 months ago my nurse at the asthma clinic asked if I would do a trial test for CHAMPIX. They stop the craving for a ciggie, although I still want one Im not going through any cravings or bad moods. I smoked my last ciggie 3wks and 5days ago.And have no desire to start again , but I could-nt have done it without the tablets.PLEASE TRY THEM . Unlike Fiddler I was told to smoke for 2 wks make that my date and then stop which I did.
The answer is what ever you try you have got to want to, there is no magic cure I-m sorry to say!

I gave up in Jan, because It was time, my skin was showing signs of smoking, my breath stank, my clothes and hair wreaked of smoke,, my teeth are getting weak,, so thought it was time to do something about it,, I used patches and have been very successful,,,, very pleased, at the weekend someone I haven-t seen for months told me I look years younger,,

The money I have saved is taking me to Turkey for one week in August,, so there you go,, its all up to you really. Do you want to do it or not. There is help out there, but not a cure. You have to play a part in giving up,, you have to want to.

Good Luck! Its really worth it!
I quit with Champix last August. It totally worked for me, in fact I didn-t complete the course as didn-t feel I need the full 12 week supply. Made me feel very sick but so worth it as I never even wanted a cigarette and without realising it I had stopped.

I was smoking 20 a day too and I set my target date (essential) but actually stopped the day before as you really just don-t fancy one or get any cravings for one. Feel much better now in all aspects, financially and health wise.

Don-t give up - you will quit! I can-t recommend Champix any higher - for me it was a wonder drug that made you feel lousy!!! But it worked!!! Good luck!
I quit by using the nasal spray. Its effects are instant, ie you are dying for a ciggie, use the spray and you just not bothered about one anymore. You can use it up to 62 times per day usually a spray up each nostril up to twice an hour. I tried patches, didnt work. Went on to spray and i aint had a ciggie for 9 months now. Never felt so bloody rough in my life lol.
O Yea , O Yea , New lungs for old , New group on yahoo , cures anyone of smoking , difficult cases a speciality. No doom and gloom on this site , quitting is very enjoyable - it must be mustn-t it ,think of the massive benfits heading your way .You asked for advice ape x ,so log in and I-ll give you some more
SARAH W....... you interested .?
just tell them they didn-t work before and they might give you the inhalator or a pill which my dad took made him stop and he hasn-t touched a ciggarette in 4 years, but you must have the will power to stop, you have to want to stop and now or treatment will be pointless and a waste or time money and your energy!!

good luck :)
to be honest, if you really want to quit, then this is my adive, i think its like anything, drinking drugs or losing weight whatever, the top and bottom of it is, u need to not make any excuses for yourself, if you want to quite QUIT its willpower mroe than anything....dont just say h ill have jus 1, just dont have 1 its all in your mind, just dont buy them and dont have 1, you have to work hard at it, dig in and say ur nto going to let the cigarettes win, it will be hard but anything worth having like the ability to not want a smoke, is worth working hard for...just go for it no excuses its all down to you, good luck
Get Champix and don-t start taking them until the day comes
when you know. This is the day i stop.I went into hospital to have
an operation(rush job)the other week and got out last Friday.I
haven-t felt like a cig since going in.Bit extreme i know.But you
have to be in the mood to stop and remember the first one you
smoke.Is the first of many.
i have just tried the champix tablets, didn-t work for me and i-m still smoking :(
good luck
Patches,Will Power, and take one day at a time.
They should make you take the patches they are very good! But please resist it WILL kill you!
I give up on tablets with nicotine (Nicotinerrete) mint ones... 4mg are the best for starters. I give up for 4 months and now back to sigs because my Oldest son troubles me too much
Go Cold Turkey. You-ll experience what drug addicts go through.

Getting hypnotized to quit smoking cigarettes only.? -

Getting hypnotized to quit smoking cigarettes only.? -

My boyfriend is a heavy cigarette smoker and wants to quit. He is worried that if he gets hypnotized to quit smoking cigarettes that he wont want to smoke anything thing else (weed), is that true? His cigarettes smoke really bugs me. I know it is all bad for him, but baby steps.
Hypnotherapy is an alternative treatment method used to stop smoking and get rid of nicotine cravings that may people often don’t realize exist. The success rates for smokers who implement hypnotism to stop smoking are much higher than the patches and gums which are currently available on the market. If hypnotherapy is something you’re interested in trying in order to quit smoking, you can seek the ability of a certified hypnotherapist or you can practice self hypnosis.
Its a waste of money I know 3 people that paid $180.00 to get hypnotized it worked for a few hours and one person it worked for 2 days but she was back smoking on the 3rd day.Save your money I an sure there is a better way ..
I know somebody who did it with acupuncture
If it helps him quit weed too then that is just a bonus!!

I have been constipated for 2 weeks after I quit smoking, does anyone know how long this will last? -

I exercise 1 to 2 hours a day
I eat 25g of Fibre per day
I drink 2 liter of water per day and have tried everything you can possibly think of, but it has not helped. I feel horrible and cry all the time....I think the stress is not helping the situation. Does anyone know how long the digestive system will take to get use to no nicotine as stimulant. Please, I am desperate to be normal again,
It is one of the most common reasons that people fail to give up smoking (but nobody really talks about it). Your bowel has become sluggish as it has become dependant on nicotine to stimulate the peristaltic action which moves waste along. You need something to help retrain your bowel. Try either Col-Tone A or Col-Tone B which you can buy from
http://www.detoxonline.co.uk
- they are natural, herbal colon cleansers which will gently stiumulate the bowel and get it going again. You start off taking one three times a day and if that doesn-t get the desired effect then increase to two three times per day. The also stock a slightly stronger version called Natural TNT which is very effective. If you visit the site send an e-mail and they will help you with your dchoice. It would also be a good idea to have a course of colonic irrigation which will help to get things moving again. Make sure you keep your fibre and fluid intake up. And it might help to get up earlier in the am and take some exercise - a trampet can be really good at getting things moving - using gravity to help things on their way.
We don-t know how long you have been a smoker and how long have you been sticking to this good routine of exercise, fiber and water. Anyways, giving up smoking is a wise decision. Be patient, stick to it and don-t give up easily. There are many natural home remedies for you to explore. Don-t run to OTC laxatives yet.

Looking forward to your great stool day!
Your body will adjust and you will find yourself having to run to the toilet soon.
Talk to yr doc. Small, regular dose of lactulose will probably help

I have to quit smoking what is the easiest way without going Crazy??? -

eat bananas. theres a chemical in them that blocks nicotene cravings.
Hypnosis is a good way to quit smoking.

For more information visit the website in my sources.
Nicotine patches worked for me 14 years ago. I used to smoke three or more packs a day, so I think I can answer your question with some authority.
The patches took charge of the physical craving, so I only had to fight the emotional addiction. It wasn-t as horrible as I thought, and I haven-t relapsed since.
Good luck! I feel great. You-ll see it-s worth it.
Gum, gum, and more gum.
Use the patch. It worked for me.
why do u have to quit that sweet little habbit?
start running every time you get the urge to smoke
get really sick and end up in the hospital for 3 weeks. It worked for me, untill I came home and hubbie lit up right next to me. Try to stay away from people who smoke, or places that allow smoking. Try not to watch movies where they talk about smoking or smoke. Try to avoid the situations that made you smoke before, ie driving. Basicaly call in sick and stay in bed for a week. Good luck!
Take an old jar. Put all your old cigarette butts in there. Each time you feel like smoking, open it up and breathe deeply.
This method works for me and is the only money back guaranteed.
I quite smoking 2 years ago

Get the Facts
Easyway, founded by Allen Carr in 1983, has the highest independently verified 12-month success rate (75.8% for a smoker completing the program) of any quit smoking technique and a 90% satisfaction rating.

Compare Easyway to other methods and see for yourself why Easyway is called “The Cadillac of quit smoking methods.”

The Allen Carr Method
HOW THE METHOD WORKS

Using psychotherapy, the method works in the opposite way to the “willpower” method. It does not concentrate on the reasons the smoker should not smoke : the money, the slavery, the health risks and the stigma. Smokers know all that already. Instead it focuses on why smokers continue to smoke in spite of the obvious disadvantages.

It is fear that keeps smokers hooked!

Fear the smoker will have to give up their pleasure or crutch. Fear the smoker will be unable to enjoy life or handle stress. Fear the smoker will have to go through an awful trauma to get free. Fear the smoker will never get completely free from the craving.

The Method removes these fears
Smokers quit with the Allen Carr Method as happy non-smokers, not feeling deprived but with a huge sense of relief and elation that they have finally achieved what they always wanted….

TO BE FREE!

What about the terrible withdrawal pangs from nicotine?

The physical withdrawal from nicotine is so slight that most smokers don’t realise that they are addicts. What smokers suffer when they try and quit using other methods is the misery and depression caused by the belief that they are being deprived of a pleasure or a crutch.

The Allen Carr Method removes this feeling of deprivation.
It removes the need and desire to smoke. Once the smoker is in the right frame of mind and they follow the simple instructions, the physical withdrawal from nicotine is hardly noticeable.

No Gimmicks!

The Method does not use any gimmicks, useless aids or substitutes. No nicotine gum, patches, lozenges, tabs, inhilators or nasal sprays! No needles! No lasers! No drugs! No herbs! No shock treatment!

The Allen Carr Method is successful because:

It removes the smokers’ conflict of will.
There are no bad withdrawal pangs.
It is instantaneous and easy.
It is equally effective for long-term heavy smokers and light smokers.
You need not gain weight.
You will not miss smoking.

Medical Endorsements

A personal view from Professor Judith Mackay MBE, JP, FRCO (Edin), FRCP (Lon), World Health Organisation Advisory Panel on Tobacco and Health

“I have no hesitation in supporting Allen Carr’s work. Many clinics use some of his techniques but it would appear that few do it in quite such a successful package.”

Carole Johnson, Coronary Heart Disease Prevention Unit, Tyne Tees

“his success rate was such that, when budgets allow, we continue to use Easyway for work with specific groups and individuals.”

Dr Anil Visa BSc, MBBch., FRCA, Consultant – Royal Hospitals NHS Trust – Royal London Hospital

“I have observed the Allen Carr method at first hand and have found it to be very successful and I wholeheartedly support it as an effective way to quit smoking.”

Dr William Green, Head of Psychiatric Dept, Matilda Hospital, Hong Kong

“It is a remarkable fact that Allen Carr, on his own admission a non-professional in behaviour modification, should have succeeded where countless psychologists and psychiatrists holding postgraduate qualifications have failed, in formulating a simple and effective way to stop smoking.”

Dr Martin Jarvis, Principle Scientist, Imperial Cancer Research
Fund and Reader in Health Psychology, University College London

”...I am more than happy to testify to Allen Carr’s enduring involvement and to recognise the value of the kind of behavioural and cognitive support he provides.”

Dr PM Bray MB CH.b., MRCGP

“I was really impressed by the method. In spite of the Allen Carr organisation’s success and fame, there were no gimmicks and the professional approach was something a GP could readily respect. I would be happy to give a medical endorsement of the method to anyone.”

Celebrity Endorsements

-His method is absolutely unique, removing the dependence on cigarettes, while you are actually smoking. I’m pleased to say it has worked for many of my friends and staff.”
Sir Richard Branson

“Some friends of mine who had stopped using Allen Carr’s method suggested I tried it. I did. It was such a revelation that instantly I was freed from my addiction. Like those friends of mine, I found it not only easy but unbelievably enjoyable to stay stopped.”
Sir Anthony Hopkins

GOOD LUCK!
first consult a phycisian then you may start chewing nicorette or other nicotine substitute gums every time you have the urge to smoke!drink lots of water and take a warm bath daily!and stay away from smoking groups of friends and find a non smoking friends instead!good luck!
try hypnotism? Its expensive but it is fast and works
quittin smoking isnt easy u will need 2 have help the patch the gum (get the ment or orange flavor) an try a chat room like quitnet.com being around others that is also quittin helps a great deal
The easiest way is to simply wean yourself off, to your own leisure of course. After a while you will find it is so much easier to just not have a smoke as before.
i started dipping..............ya i know, its nasty..........but hey, i don-t smoke anymore!........you might not want to go that route, you will end up a worse off.
Quitting smoking is extremely difficult. The withdrawl makes us not want to, but we know the risks and we know that they are not worth it. For anyone who wants to end their nicotine addiction, check out www.stopsmokingcleveland.com. This is the MOST effective method on the market. It is 86% effective and the details of the program are on the website (no signing up or submitting your information).

I tried this program and it changed my life. I-ve tried ACS, patches, gum, hypnosis, accupuncture. I-ve done them all.
P.S. Allen Carr is only 20% effective.

What should i ask for to quit smoking? -

What should i ask for to quit smoking? -

i am determined to quit smocking but know i cannot do it cold turkey what is the best drug to help me
Chantix by far worked best for me.. I laid my cigs down in less than 2 weeks and I had never done that before and I have tried pretty much everything else.. the one draw back to it is a lot of ins companies will not pay for it and it is around $120 i think for 1 month..
Wellbutrin. Its an anti depressant. It helps because almost all addictions are tied to depression. It will also help calm the anxiety associated with quitting.

I have been smoke free for a year. These are my suggestions

-Keep a smoking journal. You dont have to be activly trying to quit to do this, in fact I would suggest starting the journal before you activly try to quit. Write down the following things about everytime you smoke:
Time
How many did you smoke
Why did you smoke
What were you doing before
How did you feel before
What are you going to do after
How did you feel after
At the end of the day, write down a sentence or two about whatever you want. Did you notice any patterns? Did you notice any times when you want to smoke that you didnt? (write those down to in your journal, along with the time, and why you didnt smoke, what you were doing)

-Realize what youa re fighting here. Nicotine is completly out of your system in 72 hours and the chemical addiction is gone after 2-3 weeks. It is not the chemical nicotine addiction that most people have problems with. It is the emotional addiction and mindless habbit of smoking. Actually getting the cig out of the pack, lighting it, taking a hit, sucking in and exhaling, and the way it makes you feel. For me, I always smoked in the car. It was automatic, never thought about it, I just got in the car and lit a cig. To this day I miss smoking in the car. When you know what you are fighting, it makes it easier.

-Dont give up just because you had a cig. I tried to quit lots of times, and would give up when I failed. But, would you quit using your lights because you forgot to turn it out one day? Would you quit cooking because you accidently burnt tonight-s dinner? Would you quit flushing the toilet because you forgot to flush? Would you quit driving because you got a ticket? Would you quit using the comp because you had a typo? Then why on earth would you give up on quitting smoking just because you had a cig when you werent supposed to?

-Join a support group. Very helpful psychologically to know someone else is going through what you are.

- Make your house and car smoke free zones. Even if you keep smoking, always smoke outside, even if its 100 degrees or below zero. It will help the resale value of both, but will also help you cut back. If you cant sit and smoke while watching tv, you wont smoke that half pack during the suspense movie.

-Dont hang out with the smokers at work. This is the pitfall for so many people. You and the group of other smokers go out for breaks together and talk about work or gossip or whatever. you cant do that. Yeah, itll such to not gossip with them, but work is for work, not gossip anyways.

You really should talk to your doctor. You may react badly to some of the medications out there. If you-re cleared for taking any of the medications available, you should think about why you smoke. If it-s just an oral fixation, the gum might help you, or herbal cigarettes. Or if you-re sure that you-re going to have a hard time, something stronger, like the patch may help.

You should also talk to your doctor about the SIDE effects of quitting. I recently quit, and my heart was beating strangely and I had insomnia for four days. It drove me crazy. I didn-t check with a doctor when I quit, so when I did and I had those reactions, I had panic attacks because I thought I was having heart attacks or something. Reactions differ for men and for women, so you should ask your doctor what you should expect (or even look online). I quit cold turkey, and it-s freakin- tempting to go back, but after 21 days (which is what they say is how long it takes to break a habit), you-re going to feel a lot better. You-ll breathe better, feel better. Whichever method you choose, stick with it. It-s worth it! (And think of all the money you-ll save!)
Talk to your doctor and call 1-800-no-butts (a great resource to help smokers quit).

Also, check out this information about cancer prevention--you really should stop smoking as soon as possible. It-s really bad for your health.

Hope that helps and best of luck. Tobacco addiction is one of the most difficult addictions to overcome but you can do it! :) Seek medical help though.
i used to smoke 2 packs a day. I couldn-t even go shopping for 10 min without needing to have cig. I had tried to quit several times, only to fail. I finally decided out of the blue one day, that that was it..i didn-t plan it. I put 2 full packs on the top of fridge so i knew they were there. You never want a drink of water til the well runs dry! I went out and bought small bottles of water for the hand to mouth thing and got busy. I lost 20 lbs from the water and staying busy, and lost the want for cigerettes when I got a new sense of smell and could finally run a mile without wanting to pass out. Before I knew it, I was running 10 miles a day. I never turned back, and did it all on my own with no patches or meds, just the want to. It is all in your head. It wasn-t hard as long as I kept busy and had my bottle of water at ALL times. Good Luck to you. You can do it, just don-t plan it.
chantix is the namew of the newest med.

Has anyone tried CHENTEX to quit smoking? -

want to know the side effects, not much on the web.
There are several of us at work that have taken it and we all had the same just slightly different symptoms. We all had nausea, bad taste in our mouths if we tried to smoke, one of us had increased blood pressure, slight headaches. That was about it, but to know, we all started smoking again too!!
Do you mean Chantix? If so, there is plenty of info on the web.
Weird dreams, Irritation, Nervousness

What are the negative side effects to quitting smoking? -

I just recently quit smoking and for some odd reason, have been really drained of energy. Ive been told this could happen.
What other negative side effects can I expect now that I am no longer a smoker? (besides, of course, craving one... oh! and wanting to eat like a hog)
I quit years ago. I have had no negative effects. You keep smoking and you will have boatload of side effects from that. The next time you want a cigarette think about the money, and all of the people who would be alive today had they not smoked. Believe quitting smoking is the best thing you can do for yourself, your friends and your family. Hang in there you can kick the habit. Takes a bigger man not to smoke then to smoke.
That-s it - they are temporary, you ll have craving - feel a lack of energy but this is normal.Congratulations.
yes besides craving a cig. irritability mood swings like being grumpy because you-re trying to hold back on smoking and i think a dry throat. Good Luck :) oh yeah try looking it up on the web like ask.com fab source!!
Hi,

Great post! Quitting smoking was the hardest thing I-ve ever done in my life, and I thought I wasn-t addicted!

Here-s what I tried before finding success: hypnosis, those fake cigaretts, the nicotine patch, and group therapy....none worked.

I finally tried this HERBAL patch I bought 6 months ago on the net. They claim a 97% success rate. Well, it worked! They had a sweet deal which was a free 10 day trial for only $3.95 including shipping (it-s regularly $53 for 10 days)!!

I don-t know if they still have that deal, but it-s worth a try.
