What is the best way to quit smoking? -

My mom is 41 years old and has smoked since she was 16. She has now decided to quit. She was wanting to try the patches but doesn-t know which ones would work best. What would be the best ones for her? Or is there another method that would be better?
Chantix works really well! Both of my parents smoked for more than 20 years and this really helped them out.
Hi Latasha,

It-s good that you are concerned about your mother and are willing to help her. Smokers need people like you who can support them during the process of quitting. Well done for at least taking the first step to find out how to quit smoking.

I was a smoker before and I successfully quit because I decided to to quit. Your mother has already got what that first requirement - the desire to quit and that-s good. Everything from here, even though, it sounds hard in the first place is going to be easy because she has that desire to quit.

If you ask me, I would say there are many methods out there that she can try. The results vary from person to person so it-s hard to say what work for some people will work for others.

The way I quit ? I just go cold-turkey. I just quit. Yes, cold turkey is difficult if you don-t know how to do it. There are ways that can ease the process of quitting using cold turkey. For example, to have supportive people around to accompany the smokers during nicotine craving. Those supportive people will keep them occupied with something. Another way is to have a 30-day calendar that tracks your progress. This calendar will remind you about your progress and yes that will have some psychological benefit on you - you simply don-t want to destroy your result by start to smoke again in the middle of your progress. There are many more ways.

That-s all I can say for now. There are many more methods that you can look for. Just keep looking and find what works for your mother. I wish you good luck !!!
Well... There is no easy answer to this.

The patches contain the same thing as the cigarettes do which help stop the cravings which proves my point. It-s the chemicals they add to cigarettes and not the actual pure tobacco that is bad.

She can remain more or less healthy and still smoke if she smokes all natural tobacco w/o additives which is hard to come by these days.

http://yourtotalhealth.ivillage.com/are-nicotine-patches-harmful.html

Notice how they say that the chemicals are cancerous?

--- http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070702081851AAEOTqs

The person who answered here states -you can safely use nicotine replacement for the rest of your life if you need to-

Which, again, proves my point that it (the patch) has the same components as tobacco.

But something your mother could do to help her stop smoking is to get lots of exercise.

Exercise creates acetylcholine in the brain which is the same thing that smoking does. That is why smokers crave cigarettes.
Acetylcholine helps people deal with stress and anxiety, which is why when people aren-t feeling top notch, they smoke more.

Acetylcholine gets depleted because society is such that there isn-t a day where someone isn-t stressed/sad/anxious, therefore we use a lot and need more each day which can create chain smokers.

So, as I said before, exercise will help her a lot and also doing saunas :)
I think this is one of your best decisions. You must know what are the advantages of quitting:

quick responses in their forums...look for the story of -Joe Cool- in the avoiding relapse section and you will never smoke again...
I was a smoker for 25 years and I had quit smoking for over six times ,but never really quit smoking before.Just after I read that quit smoking program, I realized how easy quitting smoking was.I am a non-smoker now! I highly recommend this program to you.It really works. You can check out

Good luck!
These are really good tips I have heard to stop smoking. Hope they help.

Because a smoker forms the habit of putting something in their mouth, and it-s like always a cigarette. you will need something else to put into your mouth, like lollipops.

Have a peppermint each time you crave a cigarette, the craving will go away somehow.

Be sure to have lots of water, the nicotine will wash out within 48 - 72 hours. Let-s say, the same amount as some scientist discovered. 6 - 8 glasses a day.

Make sure you get a lot of fresh air and exercise, it will help your brain recover

Have faith. Thinking you can-t do it over and over won-t help.

Just do it.

I quit smoking ciggarettes cold turkey, Are Black And Mild Cigars a resonable alternative? -

I have been a ciggarette smoker for 4 years, due to an injury I have recently quit. I feel somewhat urges to smoke a nice ciggarette after a meal. I am now smoking Black and Mild cigars somewhat regularly. It mentally settles my craves and keeps me occupied. Is this a bad alternative? I am still young and this could help me quit for good .
No cigars are just as bigger killer as cigarettes..
The nicotine content is a lot stronger in a cigar too..

The way i gave into my cravings was by chewing on nicorette first, then i gave that up and just chew normal chewy now..
Yeah it is so god damned hard to stop.I give you thumbs up for trying...

Smoker for 17 years!!(non smoker for 6 months)....
im not here to tell you that ur stuipd or judge you for what your habits are and im not going to tell you to stop. i can only help you with my experience. I have been smoking cigs for 5 years and i too quit cold turkey 3 weeks ago cuz of problems i am not sure of yet. if u want to continue to stop the u have to stay away from all tobacco products cuz its just going to keep you tempted. and u have to think of why ur quiting as well. i didnt want to die because of my problem so if stayng alive is more important then the choice is obvious. cigars are just as bad if not worse. what helped me was sun flower seeds or something to keep me busy. if u really want to quit then you will. but if u truly dont want to then you are never going to quit. and by smoking cigars as an alternitive shows that ur not ready to quit. try the nicotine gum or patch. it didnt help me but maybe it will work for u. its all about how motivated you are
Ditch the cigars they are no better!!!!You can get cancer from them too because they are full of chemicals too.Find a new way to occupy yourself.Exercise can really help because as you feel and look better,you-ll care about yourself more and more.Drink water every time a craving hits.My dad(who has emphysema)smoked for 55 years. He ate candies and that helped him.Trust me you don-t want to ruin your health.Be someone you are proud of,someone who inspires others to strive for better in life. You can do it!!!!!!!!!

Im trying to quit smoking cigarettes amp; is looking for a good site to obtain info.? -

I-ve been smoking since 12 yrs.old now 26,I need real help not just someone I could talk too..my son has been praying for me to stop I have actually been praying myself but the urge is stronger then our pryaers. I go on sites and they ask me info. refers me to support groups,I don-t think talking about it will help any... as I write these couple of words it makes me want to go fetch one. so quickly I return to the main course. WANTING TO QUIT.....
I-ve taken a course to learn how to hold smoking cessation classes. You-ve got the best thing already....WANTING TO QUIT.
If you can hold off the first 3 days, you-ve got the hard part over with, according to most who quit. ALL symptoms should be gone in a couple weeks.
Just keep trying. I personally recommend the -cold turkey- method because if you use a product to help you stop smoking that contains nicotine it will continue supplying your cravings for nicotine, prolonging the process. If you can find a stop-smoking product that does NOT supply nicotine in any way, it-s probably safe.

Try to distract your urge-most of them won-t last more than a few minutes. Try:

Chewing some gum
Go for a walk
Take a shower (one place it-s difficult to smoke!)
And anything else that will distract you!

You can make it!

P.S. I-ll email you with more info if you-re interested. Add to your post saying so, if you want.
Try this ebook. I-ve heard it-s pretty effective
american lung association. american heart association. both have very good help with stopping smoking. good luck I will be quitting soon myself I hope

What is the most helpful tip wou can give me to quit smoking even after using Nicoderm? -

Quitting smoking is extremely difficult. The withdrawl makes us not want to, but we know the risks and we know that they are not worth it. For anyone who wants to end their nicotine addiction, check out www.stopsmokingcleveland.com. This is the MOST effective method on the market. It is 86% effective and the details of the program are on the website (no signing up or submitting your information).

I tried this program and it changed my life.
watch those disgusting videos on what smoking does to you.
I-ll tell you how I quit after 25 years of cigarettes. They say you are not supposed to do it this way, but it worked for me. First went from marlboro to marlboro medium, then to marlboro light, then marlboro ultra lite, then to Carlton. I kept track of every time I had a cigarette and would ask myself why -- like if other people at work would want to go out to smoke - ask me to join them, I-d say to myself -do I really want this cigarette?- The most difficult was not lighting up in the car. I got down to 1 cigarette a day -- in the car on the way home from work. I had to wean myself but it worked.. now I can-t stand to look at a dirty ashtray, or smell smoke on somebody else. Another tip --- put yourself in places where no smoking is allowed. Good Luck.
i tried nicoderm and it made me sick so i threw it away and tried cold turkey and i almost went crazy so i started smoking again. sorry but it-s very hard. you have to go through at least 2 weeks of hell.
This method works for me and is the only money back guaranteed.
I quite smoking 2 years ago

Get the Facts
Easyway, founded by Allen Carr in 1983, has the highest independently verified 12-month success rate (75.8% for a smoker completing the program) of any quit smoking technique and a 90% satisfaction rating.

Compare Easyway to other methods and see for yourself why Easyway is called “The Cadillac of quit smoking methods.”

The Allen Carr Method
HOW THE METHOD WORKS

Using psychotherapy, the method works in the opposite way to the “willpower” method. It does not concentrate on the reasons the smoker should not smoke : the money, the slavery, the health risks and the stigma. Smokers know all that already. Instead it focuses on why smokers continue to smoke in spite of the obvious disadvantages.

It is fear that keeps smokers hooked!

Fear the smoker will have to give up their pleasure or crutch. Fear the smoker will be unable to enjoy life or handle stress. Fear the smoker will have to go through an awful trauma to get free. Fear the smoker will never get completely free from the craving.

The Method removes these fears
Smokers quit with the Allen Carr Method as happy non-smokers, not feeling deprived but with a huge sense of relief and elation that they have finally achieved what they always wanted….

TO BE FREE!

What about the terrible withdrawal pangs from nicotine?

The physical withdrawal from nicotine is so slight that most smokers don’t realise that they are addicts. What smokers suffer when they try and quit using other methods is the misery and depression caused by the belief that they are being deprived of a pleasure or a crutch.

The Allen Carr Method removes this feeling of deprivation.
It removes the need and desire to smoke. Once the smoker is in the right frame of mind and they follow the simple instructions, the physical withdrawal from nicotine is hardly noticeable.

No Gimmicks!

The Method does not use any gimmicks, useless aids or substitutes. No nicotine gum, patches, lozenges, tabs, inhilators or nasal sprays! No needles! No lasers! No drugs! No herbs! No shock treatment!

The Allen Carr Method is successful because:

It removes the smokers’ conflict of will.
There are no bad withdrawal pangs.
It is instantaneous and easy.
It is equally effective for long-term heavy smokers and light smokers.
You need not gain weight.
You will not miss smoking.

Medical Endorsements

A personal view from Professor Judith Mackay MBE, JP, FRCO (Edin), FRCP (Lon), World Health Organisation Advisory Panel on Tobacco and Health

“I have no hesitation in supporting Allen Carr’s work. Many clinics use some of his techniques but it would appear that few do it in quite such a successful package.”

Carole Johnson, Coronary Heart Disease Prevention Unit, Tyne Tees

“his success rate was such that, when budgets allow, we continue to use Easyway for work with specific groups and individuals.”

Dr Anil Visa BSc, MBBch., FRCA, Consultant – Royal Hospitals NHS Trust – Royal London Hospital

“I have observed the Allen Carr method at first hand and have found it to be very successful and I wholeheartedly support it as an effective way to quit smoking.”

Dr William Green, Head of Psychiatric Dept, Matilda Hospital, Hong Kong

“It is a remarkable fact that Allen Carr, on his own admission a non-professional in behaviour modification, should have succeeded where countless psychologists and psychiatrists holding postgraduate qualifications have failed, in formulating a simple and effective way to stop smoking.”

Dr Martin Jarvis, Principle Scientist, Imperial Cancer Research
Fund and Reader in Health Psychology, University College London

”...I am more than happy to testify to Allen Carr’s enduring involvement and to recognise the value of the kind of behavioural and cognitive support he provides.”

Dr PM Bray MB CH.b., MRCGP

“I was really impressed by the method. In spite of the Allen Carr organisation’s success and fame, there were no gimmicks and the professional approach was something a GP could readily respect. I would be happy to give a medical endorsement of the method to anyone.”

Celebrity Endorsements

-His method is absolutely unique, removing the dependence on cigarettes, while you are actually smoking. I’m pleased to say it has worked for many of my friends and staff.”
Sir Richard Branson

“Some friends of mine who had stopped using Allen Carr’s method suggested I tried it. I did. It was such a revelation that instantly I was freed from my addiction. Like those friends of mine, I found it not only easy but unbelievably enjoyable to stay stopped.”
Sir Anthony Hopkins

GOOD LUCK!
Buy a brand new car that you won-t want to stink up (motivation), go to the doctor for a prescription to quit (chemical fix) and take up a new habit like origami (that-s a bad example, but something to do with your hands)
Eat fruit instead of twinkies. Hang in there, it can be done.
just take all of your cigares and give them to a friend till u think u can quit

I am trying to quit smoking but I need that nicotine, I am bored? What can I do? -

I have been doing these:

2. Keep very, very busy
3. Begin an exercise program of some sort.
4. Keep healthy snacks around when there is that uncontrollable urge to put something in your mouth.
5.Drink water

And I still have a strong urge
Nicotine Anonymous is a Non-Profit 12 Step Fellowship of men and women helping each other live nicotine-free lives. Nicotine Anonymous welcomes all those seeking freedom from nicotine addiction, including those using cessation programs and nicotine withdrawal aids. The primary purpose of Nicotine Anonymous is to help all those who would like to cease using tobacco and nicotine products in any form. The Fellowship offers group support and recovery using the 12 Steps as adapted from Alcoholics Anonymous to achieve abstinence from nicotine.
Due to the unpleasantness of the withdrawal symptoms, many people who try to quit smoking end up replacing the cigarettes with some other type of addiction. This may be an addiction to prescription medication, such as sleeping tablets or tranquilizers, or an addiction to food. While you will definitely experience the health benefits of giving up nicotine, no one wants to replace one addiction with another!

A healthy diet, adequate exercise as well as natural and holistic treatments such as acupuncture, massage and herbal and homeopathic remedies can also help the smoker overcome nicotine addiction. Herbal and homeopathic treatments are a safe and effective means to reduce nicotine cravings (without giving you more nicotine) and will also help to prevent weight gain and alleviate anxiety and irritability. Basically, natural and holistic treatments not only lessen the urge to smoke, but also help you to restore balance in your body.

There are a number of ingredients such as Avena sativa, Garcinia cambogia and Gotu Cola (Centella asiatica) which will help to address the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal. They reduce nicotine cravings and balance the mood.

More details on these are available here
http://www.healthherbsandnutrition.com/r…
along with dietary recommendations as well.
i have heard that nicotine-s can be as strong as addiction on heroin.
i believe that.

the trouble is, that smoking is not only about nicotine. it is a complex problem, which involves hands movement habit, social life, friends, smell of smoke and deep breaths in to get it deep into your lungs, and many more...

to battle this you can try yoga to control your thoughts, emotions, breathing...

you can start to chew nicorette (for example) and slowly cut the doses to an absolute nil.
it may take months and it will need your discipline, but at the end it will be healthy and free YOU.
I-ve tried just about every method there is out there and there is only one I can recommend - NLP! It eliminates the cravings.
Gum patches and all the other just did not cut it for me, not to mention cold turkey which was the hardest, I even tried the electric cig and it is just no match to the real thing.

I think you should satisfy your nicotine urge. You gain nothing by stressing yourself out. Don-t feel guilty that you allowed yourself some nicotine. But you should prepare a plan to slowly free yourself from your nicotine addiction. This site might help you:

Should i quit smoking cigarettes? -

Should i quit smoking cigarettes? -

I have been smoking for about 2 years and i seem to notice women dont like it and i think i should try to quit what do you think?
You should try to quit now. You-ve only been smoking two years, and it doesn-t get any easier. The longer you wait, the harder it will be to stop. It takes 20 years for the tar of one cigarette to completely be cleaned from your lungs. Quit now, and you-re risk of lung cancer and respiratory problems in the next few years will be very very little.
Yes you should quit. The longer you wait, the harder it is to stop and most women are put off by smoking. The smell gets in your clothes and hair. You also need to think about your health. Smoking will age your heart and lungs. When you are young, you don-t think about stuff like that because you are still able to smoke and run around. Your lung capacity will decrease and you will notice problems as you get older. In addition, if you have kids, you will hurt them if you smoke around them. Kids who are exposed to smoke have a greater chance at having respiratory problems. Good luck kicking the habit.
Absolutely not. In fact, you would be making an exceptionally selfish decision if you opted to quit smoking. As a smoker, you daily help to support our world class public education system. Many of the taxes which you pay on each pack of cigarettes directly fund the salaries of your hard working, unionized teachers. Same goes for the lottery. I don-t like to consider those blue-collar line workers as problem gamblers but rather as enthusiastic supporters of education. Their debt is our children-s gain. Hey, if you lose your home because you thought that next ticket was your chance to finally make that move to the bahamas, at least some illegitimate little brat will still have his public funded classroom to take his afternoon nap in. Back to smoking - Lets also not forget about the thousands of lower class families who derive their income from working on the tobacco fields. Don-t be so selfish as to contribute to their plight and kick them out onto the streets over something as ridiculous as you trying to get laid. Finally, also consider the thousands of working Americans who own stock in companies such as Phillip Morris and RJ Reynolds. Remember, as our great leader has stated, now is the time for us to do our individual parts to restore trust in the markets. Are you really going to be part and parcel of driving those stock prices down even further in this shaky time of financial uncertainty? Just do the right thing: Light up that cigarette and smoke up for the sake of our nation and our children.
yea, your right not many women like guys that smoke.. not that they dint like them its Just that they see you a little different then if you didn-t... i know you wont believe me when i tell you that when you quit and you tell them you haven-t smoked in like..say 4 months or so they will actually think your a cool guy because not many people can quit easily trust me it helps you more than you know
not unless you enjoy spending lots of money to smell like s*** on a regular basis and end up with; a yellow face, yellow hands, with a voice like House M.D., get knackered everytime you walk up the stairs etc etc.. if that sounds good to you continue puffing away. if not then you should quit. your choice! need help quitting try Alan carr-s easy way to stop smoking - he encourages you to continue smoking as you read the book so tyou don-t have to quit before/as you start reading.
its ok if you smoke now and then, still smoking in excess can be injurious... i wonder how people who never smoke would come up with **** load of smoking advices... as a matter of fact you can quit completely only when you make that decision unconditionally, there are women who smokes and who like smokers...
Dont do it because some one told you to do it. Stop it when you are determined to stop... otherwise you will start again and later develop an impression that -its hard to quit- or -cant quit-

Good luck...
You should ABSOLUTELY try to quit. Please keep in mind that this will be hard! Quitting cold turkey will NOT help the issue. Do it for somebody you care for. Maybe a family member who has stopped smoking. You-re doing this for your own good. Nowadays, they have patches you can wear, and nicorette gum that can increase your chances of quitting. Try getting more active. Go for a jog now and then. When you-re busy, you won-t have time to smoke. Start a healthy hobby. I will be praying for you. Don-t worry...you-ll stop.
Yes! Smoking is disgusting. It-s a sign of weakness and that-s what any woman worth while is going to think, too. It makes you and any innocent bystanders SUFFER, even if you don-t realize it. Do you want that? Try Nicorette or the patches if you have problems. There are many different resources to help you quit. A lot of people will be proud of you for quitting, more than you think. Smoking is getting more and more unpopular everyday. It-s so 90s ;) You will feel SO much better. You have no idea! Try it, and BREATHE again!
Yes, definitely quit! You shouldn-t have started in the first place. If you only smoked for two years, it should be a lot easier for you than if you-ve smoked for 10, 20 years or longer. Good luck. By thinking about quiting, you took the first important step. Besides, cigarettes are expensive and they-re only going to get more expensive as time goes on. And they-re not healthy to begin with.
Yes you should quit. Don-t you know the effects when you smoke? You can get very sick, an addict, you can get cancer and etc. By being specific, you can get lung cancer. It gets harder to breathe. You start coughing because your body is trying to get rid of the chemicals. Your teeth gets stained, if you whiten them and continue to smoke it gets stained again. It slows down blood flow and you feel cold. It affects your sense of smell and taste. You also feel dizzy. The website also has help.
i think you should quit immediately, as soon as possible. How will you ever meet a woman if you don-t? And besides, smoking is bad for your health. You could ultimately die because of. You could get lung cancer or throat cancer, or you could end up getting a whole in your throat to help you breathe better, as a result of cancer. Please help yourself
to tell you the truth, im a smoker my self, and i started because i was really stressed out and thats all i coulda done at the time. i know how its feels to light up, im not gonna say quit cause were all gonna die anyways, and if a love one wants you to you can cut back use a nicorette and smoke less. but do what you want to, becuase you started you can qquit on your own time :)
Japan has one of the highest population of smokers in the world, yet they have the longest life expectancy. This goes to show us what a proper diet can do. If you want to be healthy, quitting smoking will have a lot of advantages, but there are better things you can do to improve health. Think about it.
I believe that this is the most ridiculous question of all. Of course you should stop smoking. Nobody likes people who smoke and does who do like it are losers. Smoking is bad for you and should definitely stop. Don-t just think about yourself but also the people around you. My friend, I think you should quit because if you wait to long, it will be too late.
Hell yes! you should quit! smoking is stupid and retarted and it is like paying money to kill yourself and you are also harming other people, and did u know that smoking makes your breath stink, and causes a bigger chance that you will have a heart attack and also increases the risk for dying so if i were you i would get a life and quit smoking
Duh! Of course women don-t like it. It makes you smell, it makes your woman smell, and it-s bad for you. Did you know cigarettes can make very fine hair grow on your tongue! You should really quit. Not only will you save money but you will be healthier and a lot less single.
Hope I helped.
From a womans point of view YES i had to make my husband quit smoking i hated cigarettes. In plus they are much more dangerous to others around you than they are to you. Also they are expensive so women look at it as you aren-t going to have as much spending money because you smoke.
Obviously, no s h i t. Guess you just need some motivation. Well hey, my aunt passed away before i Was born at age 31 because she smoke like a chimney. hear she was an awesome person and a huge sports fan, wish i saw her. and no girls dig the smoking unless the girl is a smoker herself which you obviously shouldn-t like

get a fake cigg maybe
im sure people tell you all the time, but yes, you should quit. my grand father just passed away from lung cancer from smoking a pipe for only a few years of his life. it had a major impact on me and the rest of my family and the same could happen to you and sadden your family. dont just do it for yourself, do it for others.
Heck yes! You should try a patch or medicine! Sweetie I know its hard! But you have to try and NEVER GIVE UP! Smoking kills...NOT TO MENTION ITS GROSS! I know you might have made some bad choices to start but its never too late! They say smoking takes away 20 years of your life! Think of what you could do in that lose of time!
FINAL ANSWER: YES DEFIENTLY A WOMAN HATES A UNHEALTHY GUY
YES......if you keep smoking...
doctors are doing to put a hole in your neck
women wont like you
youll be addicted for life
your bottom jaw could fall off (no joke, i saw pics in phys. ed)
and you testicles are going to shrivel up and fall off!!!!!!!!!

im just joking about the last one, but the rest are true
smoking isn-t cool and every cigarette you smoke takes more of you-re life away, even though quiting is hard if you really want to you will quit. But don-t just do it because others don-t like it do it because you want to.That-s the most important thing!!
Somethings got to kill you.
Half the population smoke.. if it was that bad we-d be all dead.
Yeah fair enough it-s not good for you, and in non smokers eyes it might be disgusting.. im a smoker myself.. well not chain smoker. i smoke on and off, but like i said we-d all be dead if it was so horrid
lol.
Don-t quit! The world needs smokers, just think of all of the people at tabacco companies who remain employed because of smokers. Even though you are slowly killing yourself, there are many people who benefit from your addiction. As far as women, find one who smokes too.
definitely YES. i don-t know anyone who enjoys being near a smoker. i go out of my way to try and get as far away from them as possible. its disgusting and unattractive and most of all, ITS NOT HEALTHY. if you wanna only live till you-re 50 then go at it.
Yes obviously you should stop, i know a lot of the time people don-t because its a stress reliever but i just used sunflower seeds and girls really don-t like it cause everything you own even if you don-t know smell terrible
well alot of people say smoking kills but not if you dont do it alot it is very hard to quit you can tell yourself but you wont do it my suggestoin is to just do it less like once a week but you should try and quit
I think that smoking is really bad and can cause some serious health issues in the later part of your life. Do you really want to die earlier then you have to? I am not surprised girls don-t like it, major no for woman.
smoking is disgusting. Not many smart healthy and attractive women find it appealing. Get help, quit. Do anything. You are ruining your body. The sooner the better. Best of luck to you.
duh, not only will it drive people away, it will cause some kind of gross disease, or kill you. or kill someone near you........think about it. i-ve been convincing every person i know that smokes to quit. so far so good. :)
Yes, I think it-s a good idea. It gets harder to quit the longer you-ve smoked, and it can have a negative effect on your appearance. Plus, there are the negative health effects. I wish I had quit years ago.

i just quit and i always feel angry.has anyone else experienced this and how do i stop it?
You are just missing the feeling and its you telling yourself that without it you cant be in control of situations. Trust me it will be worth it. Just keep the faith.
Why in God-s name would you do that? Realit sucks, in case you haven-t noticed.

lol ,yeah i had the same problem ,but it does eventually subside..keep your self occupied with stuff you like doing....things that are easy and dont cause you any frustation...has the nightmares started yet...lol...they-ll pass too..g/l 2u.
i just gave up about 2 months ago, your feeling angry because your body has gotten used to having the pot in its system your body has adapted to it, so without it your body is craving it , it thinks it needs it to feel normal, weed is totally out you system in about 6 weeks, the anger should subside in about a week or two tho, try to keep yourself really busy so you don-t think about weed and get rid of everything that reminds you of it.
good luck
oi !!! maybe your a cranky girl but odds are its withdrawal symptoms. You cant be mad while having sex right? do that
you bet. I got mad and depressed. My parents told me I needed to go out and have some fun for Halloween and laugh for god sake. so my bro-s and I stripped down to nothing but a flute, popped Viagra, painted our pubes orange and want out as a raging fire at band camp. I swear to god we did. I didn-t stop laughing till dad came to bail me out of jail.I don-t recommend it but it worked for me.
you tryed drinking a beer? lol

im 19 years old and have been smoking cigarettes for several years and was only able to quit once cold turkey by being sent to sago palm academy for undisclosed reasons and when i came home started smoking again...i dont want to shovel out cash for something thats not going to help..i dont expect these things to work by themselves and they require my own restraint..but something to help me noticeably would be great does anyone have any insight?? thanks -jason
Don-t feel bad about not being able to quit through going cold turkey or by cutting down. Cutting down doesn-t work because it gives nicotine the power, not the other way around. The vast majority will fail to quit using these methods.

I personally don-t trust any quit smoking method that deals only with physical nicotine addiction. I tried several times to quit using patches, gums, herbs etc but none of these worked.

Smoking is more of a psychological addiction than a physical one. If you really want to quit you must discover the reasons why you smoke and then eliminate or change these thought processes. As soon as I dealt with my psychological reasons for smoking I quit, first time and more importantly for good.

Patches are expensive and simply do not work. All that is required is a bit of motivation, self belief and determination.

Good Luck and Good Quitting

They help very much (if used as prescribed) with the physical addiction. Weaning you off the nicotine.

The psychological part, they aren-t going to help you with. That-s the hardest part to deal with.

Is there anything that can be taken to help someone quit smoking? -

Is there anything that can be taken to help someone quit smoking? -

The only way a person will quit smoking is if they truely want to quit. I smoked for years and years, then one day hated it. I quit cold turkey and havent had one since. It was hard, but I was dedicated and had the desire to stop.
Wellbutrin.
keep alot of sucker near by
Try chewing on herbal sticks. Some shops have them. Try chewing gum.

Find things to keep your mind occupied. Keep educating yourself in such a way that you learn all about the ill effects of smoking for yourself and others.

There are some fake smoke herbs out, but you would still be playing with fire.
they have gum and patches u can get at drugstores, and as far as i know there is a shot that you can get that is supposed to help i-ve heard a lot of success stories about it also try this site

http://www.lungusa.org/site/pp.asp?c=dvL…

chantix and zyban, these 2 are prescription and are besides some prescription and nonprescription nicotene replacement preparations, good luck
Any other form of nicotine will work well, since that is what you are addicted to. Patches, gum, etc. will completely eliminate the body-s cravings (but not your mind-s bad habits).
First - do you suffer from depression? Wellbutrin helps people to not want it.
Nicotine is a very powerful addiction, sometimes as poweful as heroin or cocaine. It is very hard to quit. It can take people several times of trying to quit before there is a succesful outcome. Each time you quit you learn what helps and hurts. A great deal of effort and hard work will be needed from yourself in order to become succesful. Here are 5 keys to help you quit:
1 - Get ready - set a quit date
change your environment
get rid of all ash trays and both cigarette and the cigarette butts around the house, cars, work.
don-t let people smoke around you.
once you set the date no smoking, not even a puff

2 - Get support - studies show that you have a greater chance of recovery if you have support. Family, friends, co-workers, etc.

3 - Learn new skills and behavior - keep yourself distracted so you won-t want to smoke. It helps if you change your daily routine: eat in a different place as you would normally do, switch choice of beverages you drink, no alcohol!

4 - Get medication and use it as directed - F.D.A approved medications
bupropion SR - PRESCRIPTION
nicotine gum - OVER THE COUNTER
nicotine inhailer - PRESCRIPTION
nicotine nasal spray - PRESCRIPTION
nicotine patch - BOTH

5 - Be prepared for a relapse or difficult situations - Relapses if it happens, it is usually within the first 3 months
avoid alcohol
avoid being around other smokers
prepare for weight gain - even though some of those medications delete that side effect.
bad moods and depression can occur

YOU WILL FEEL SO MUCH BETTER IF YOU CHOOSE TO QUIT ONCE YOU ARE PAST THE CRITICAL STAGE (FIRST 3 MONTHS)

i have only had 3 cigs but i do still go thourgh withdrawl with nausia headaches swating i get these only at night around 9 to 10 how do i get thourgh these withdrawls to quit smoking
I was a light smoker (5 a day) for more than 10 years. I did quit 15 days ago and it hasn-t been easy, trust me, but everyday is less hard. I-ve used niquitin patches. they work amazingly. and trust me again, if I could quit, ANYONE can cause I was very much addicted to it.

try www.niquitin.com
Wear a large rubber band around your wrist. When you get the urge, or feel the urge coming on reach down and snap the rubber band against your wrist and I swear to you it will take the urge away. BTW: My answer is serious your attention will focus on the little sting on your wrist and away from the urge.

Your body can recover from a little sting a lot easier than it can from emphysema or COPD.
dont inhale
You can-t, believe me. I quit smoking after 20 years by throwing the cigs out the window of my car on my way home from work. The first week was H--- but I purposely had an agenda of things to do each evening which distracted me from thinking about smoking and I was successful.

Good Luck

mine is feeling like 11---L.O.L
but really i am on my 5th day and it is getting harder not easier--anyone can offer hope that in time it does get easier? and any suggestions that may help?
today i feel alot of anxiety and waiting for it to pass - i hope it will.
thanks so much:)
I felt much better after about 7 days. However, my hubby had a terrible time for two months.

He says he got through it by telling himself, I don-t NEED a cigarette right now, I just want one. He started every day by writing I am not going to smoke today as the first line in his journal.

Get some gum. Get some Tic Tacs. Don-t trade cookies and candy for cigarettes. You know what I-m saying here.

It-s been six months for both of us. Occasionally, I still want a cigarette. It-s not a serious craving but when I-m feeling high stress and I sit in my recliner chair with a cup of tea, I sure miss them for a minute or two. Then, I used DH-s technique...I don-t need a cigarette, I just want one.

You are doing a good thing for yourself right now--playing on the computer and keeping your hands busy. It helps to keep yourself distracted.

Oh another thing that helped me was not going outside with smoking co-workers when they invited me even though they knew I was trying to quit.
When I quit it felt like an 11 for like the first two weeks but I treated myself with getting cable to reward myself and use the cash that was going toward cigarattes. But after the first two weeks it went down to 6 and kept getting easier. Now if something bad happens it-s like an 8 to not start again but I go like weeks at a time without thinking of lighting up.Good luck
You must know what are the advantages of quitting:

http://www.knowabouthealth.com/cigarette…

This will keep you motivated throughout. My friend was chain smoker and he quit. He use to say, just be mentally strong and you can do it. Here are some tips that helped him:

http://www.knowabouthealth.com/8-easy-ti…

It will get easier. Cravings usually go away within a few weeks. Remember this: smoking a cigarette WILL NOT reduce your need to smoke. It will only trigger even more craving. I-ve been smoke free for over 3 years, and it is so freeing to not be a slave to cigarettes.
When I met the guy I married he had quit smoking. I-d been up to 3 packs a day for a while but was tapering off at that point. But he gave me a choice....him or smokes. I quit cold turkey. He-s been worth it!!! Sure it was hard but what a prize I got for it.
It will get easier. You need to realize that it-s a really tough addiction and it takes time for your body to adjust. Get some nicotine gum. Do some exercise. Distract yourself as much as possible. Just give it time to work.
Hang in there. It is tough really tough. Just remember only a really strong person can quit and you are one of them. Good Luck!

There is a brand new prescription drug out there that is incredible. You take this pill for however long the doc tells you to and you quit cold turkey without ANY cravings. Call up your doc and ask him. It is so worth it.
Do it yourself is too tough, patches, gum and such take the edge off, but ask your doc and find what is the best they currently have out there.
Good Luck. You are going to feel great, and food will taste incredible again (that is the #1 thing people tell me is so great) and you will reduce your risk of dying from lung or mouth cancer!
Read -the easy way to quit- by Allen Carr. You don-t even have to stop until you have finished the book. It worked for me.
It is actually easy to quit once you get into the right mindset and the book helps you do that by getting rid of:
1. fear and
2. brainwashing that makes you think its hard to quit.

You can do it! If I can easily quit after 30 years of smoking, anyone can!
Hypnotizing.

where i live it costs about $50, and you never crave a cigarette again.
watch -Thank You for Smoking-
Have a packet of chewing gum with you instead of having a packet of cigarette. Believe me it works
Try doing something you like. For example if you like to fly a plane go and fly one. I know a person that stopped smoking because she liked to eat so instead of smoking, she ate a lot.
I know this may sound weird, but Bananas can help people trying to give up smoking. The B-6 and B-12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

Potassium is a vital mineral which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body-s water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be re-balanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.

So try eating some bananas :)

Some of the addiction is oral and normalacy... when you normally have cigarettes, that-s when you crave them... one of my friends would always have a ballpoint pen with her ... she would hold it in her hand like she would when she was a smoker... and if she had the oral craving, she would chew on the pen... sounds weird, but worked for her :)
Good Luck on finding the -Easiest- way to quit. How long have you been smoking? I have tried most everything they say is the -best- and find that nothing has worked for me, although I have been smoking for 50 years now!! Yes, 50! What a fool I have been.

My next step is to be hypnosis. Not the group one, as that is too generic. My last try was the newest thing on the market, Chantix. I hear it has been effective for a lot of people, just not me.

As I say, Good Luck to you and and much, much fortitude, as you will need it. ChaCha
Add up how much it costs for your addiction. That did it for me.
the nicotine patches

and also if those dont work or if they are working but you find yourself craving then think of your family. kids help a lot[if you have anykids that is]

good luck

Should I try to quit smoking or lose weight first? -

My new years resolutions are to lose weight and quit smoking. I realize that I do not have the will power to do both at the same time. I know that when you quit smoking you usually gain weight so I am not sure if I should try to lose weight first and then try to quit smoking or quit smoking and then try to lose all the weight.
ANY SUGGESTIONS APPRECIATED!
Quit smoking. You can always lose the weight again and as long as you are not already too overweight, then the health benefits from quitting smoking will outweigh everything else.
Quit smoking first. You don-t want to end up having a cigarette every time you feel hungry, because when you try to quit the cigs you will still feel hungry and start eating rubbish again. You need to retrain yourself how to eat healthy, and that will be so much easier if you aren-t confusing the craving to smoke with your natural craving to eat. Good luck! :-)
Try to quit smoking first. Your doctor would try to push for both, but would understand if you said -quitting smoking- first. You-ll be able to breathe as you walk that hour long walk (great cardio by the way).
quit smoking first! Even if you do put on a couple of pounds, you will be able to lose it quickly with exercise. Smoking and working out is not a good combo
Well it depends on which one is more detrimental to your health at the present time. I would suggest quiting smoking first as the health benefits are truly great, however if you are morbidly obese, then the weight might be more important. From a purely aesthetic standpoint you might want to quit smoking first then you can lose any extra weight you might gain along with the weight you want to lose currently.
Lose the weight first. If you quit smoking first, you-ll gain 15-20 pounds.
quit smoking first then lose weight

When I quit smoking cigarettes, will my sex drive increase? If so, how long will it take before I notice it? -

When I quit smoking cigarettes, will my sex drive increase? If so, how long will it take before I notice it? -

It won-t directly increase your sex drive, but it will make you far more attractive to everyone else, and increase their sex drive toward you - which ain-t such a bad thing. You might enjoy the extra attention and feel sexier, which will indirectly increase your sex drive. Good luck, I think.
It may. After all, once you stop smoking your senses will clear up, especially your sense of taste and smell. That alone may help you when you are near someone. you will also have more energy, more stamina as well.
No change either you have a good sex drive are you dont.
This depends upon the person. I didn-t notice mine increased when I quit - but then again, my sex drive is fairly high to begin with!!
not only do your senses get better, but you will have a increase in blood supply being pumped through the body that could defiently benefit alot of guys! more blood flow to the loins could cause a increase fo sexual want!!
When I quit smoking cigarettes, will my sex drive increase? If so, how long will it take before I notice it? -

Please explain what helped you to quit smoking and how you did it.? -

.
I began smoking at the age of 15 and finally quit for good at the age of 57 (a year ago), when I was at a pack a day. Even tho- all the experts say you have to go cold turkey, I think that just increases the craving. This is how I did it. Everytime I wanted a cigarette, I only smoked half of it. So, I immediately cut my intake in half. After a few weeks of doing that (gives your body time to adjust to less nicotine), I would only take about 4 puffs, put it out and save it for the next craving. After a few weeks of that, I went to 2 puffs, then one puff (where one cigarette could last me a day or two). My body gradually got used to doing without the nicotine and I got to a point where I said, -when this pack is done, I-m not buying anymore-. That was a year ago. Recently, I stayed with my son, who smokes, and took a drag off his cigarette. I didn-t like the taste and it hurt my throat. If I can do it, you can do it, because I loved smoking!!!
Well I found something that worked well for me, I had a hard time quitting cold turkey, and the patch didn-t work for me either I still smoked with it on. So my friends mom told me about this new thing, I swear by it.

You use it just like a cigarette only it contains no tobacco and no cancer causing agents whatsoever, it-s basically a nicotine water vapor you inhale and it looks, feels and tastes just like smoke. You can use it anywhere! It worked for me because it wasn-t just the nicotine addiction it was the act and feeling of smoking that was hard to do without, with this I still have that.

The best part for me is that it actually is costing me less per month than cigarettes were. And I am adding years back to my life!
I have quit five times. Cold Turkey was brutal. The patch worked, but I gained 10 lbs. The nicotine gum was painful. I did get pregnant and tried again to quit cold turkey and was so stressed the doctor actually told me to have some! The stress was worse for the baby then a cig here and there.

Currently, I am using the electronic cigarette. I have cut down from 1 pack a day to about 3 a day and the closer I get to my quit date... the nastier the real smokes taste.

I have found that over my 5 attempts it is the hand to mouth action of smoking that ends up getting me. Even after the nicotine is out of my system, I C*R*A*V*E the action.

If you are interested, I am providing links below for you so you can at least have a look.
I ended up taking chantix. The first couple of wks I didn-t notice a change. Then about the 3rd wk I started feeling nauseated when I smoked a cigarette. I was on wk 4 and down to my last cig..I smoked it and didn-t smoke another one.
*Chantix wasn-t covered by insurance.
*It suppose to take 3 months for most people.
With it being over $100.00 a month I put my mind to it and quit within 4 weeks.!

The only way you will quit and stay quit is to really have your mind made up that you are going to quit!! To date it has been 1yr and 5 months.

added note** this was the 2nd time for me also. 1st time I quit when I found out I was pregnant and stayed that way for 2 yrs.... so yes I agree it is totally a mind thing
The doctor told me I was pregnant, so I quit. That proves I wasn-t physically addicted. All is takes is the will to quit, and a little willpower.
I never went back to smoking. Ughh!! I-m very proud to say, -I don-t smoke.-
i was a pack and a half smoker every day for years.i tried cold turkey it didn-t work.i must have tried to quit a dozen times.i ended up going to the hypnotist and it will be nine years since i quit this january.Good luck!!!
I used Commit nicotine lozenges to get off cigarettes, used them for several years. Then Chantix came out and I used a combination of that and cold turky to get off the lozenges.
I upped my weed smoking temporarily to compensate for the lack of nicotine.

Why dont I want to quit smoking? -

Why dont I want to quit smoking? -

I want to want to quit smoking. I just ..don-t want to stop smoking? I know how contradictory that is. I want to just want to stop, but I just don-t right now!
It-s ridiculously expensive over time, and I know it will kill me. It-s unattractive and stinky and will stain my teeth. So why don-t I want to quit? Besides what I know, is there any way I can make myself actually want to quit?
Wow, James is pretty ignorant when he says that their hasn-t been any scientific research regarding a relation between smoking and lung cancer. Of course their has! There-s tons supporting that connection, and if you just thought for a moment, it is obviously right. Inhaling any kind of smoke is bad for your lungs, especially over a long period of time.

Why are some people saying that you have to hit rock bottom? That shouldn-t be the case. You obviously want to quit, so you have the -will- to quit.

It sounds like you haven-t had a go at attempting to quit. You can-t decide that it-s going to be hard for you before you even try. Have a go! There-s nothing to lose. You could try some patches or nicotine gum. The addiction part comes from nicotine, but I would think the horrible part of cigarettes is the actual smoke. So you are still getting your addiction fulfilled.

Good luck!
If you don-t have the true will to stop, you won-t. You can buy patches and gum, but if you don-t have that will to quit, they are useless. I smoke and I enjoy smoking. What I do is I control the cigarettes, they don-t control me. The Bible says do everything in moderation, which simply means don-t over indulge. Ten cigarettes is no worse for you than ten beers or ten shots of whiskey, or ten sugary products through out the day. If you don-t want to stop, then control them. There is no laboratory results that prove that smoking causes lung cancer. Ask a hair stylist if they know anyone who has asthma or always coughing. They will tell you most likely yes. Isn-t any of them that smoke, it-s the hair spray they constantly breathe. In Hints of Heloise, a woman couldn-t remember the cleaner she recommended for getting the build up of hair spray off her counter top in the bathroom. If it builds up there, where else would it build up, you are right, the lungs. Women should use a Doctors mask when spraying their hair with hair spray. Wishing you the very best young lady and good luck on accomplishing your goals.
I recommend the book, -Changing for Good.- It is a self-help program based on sound scientific research into how people change themselves. The program has been used to increase the percentage of people who successfully quit smoking and lose weight, among other things.

According to this program, you are in the -Precontemplation- stage. The book tells you what all six stages are and gives several techniques at each stage to help you move yourself to the next stage.

Here is a page that describes it briefly:

http://personaldevelopment.suite101.com/…

And here is the book at Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Changing-Good-Revo…

The only way is to hit bottom. When I quit I was smoking two at a time and not knowing it and I was craving one when I was smoking one. I hated it when some one would say lets go to so and so-s house and I would have to see if I had enough sigs to do that.........On day I just stopped and never looked back..........good luck
Because it-s addictive! Talk to your doctor and try going on the patch and/or try chewing that nicorette gum. Don-t just automatically stop smoking, cut back on them.. and then that will lead to not smoking at all.
Smoke so much that you can-t afford it anymore so then you become really addicted and poor so that you have to quit.
but a thing on your hand saying like sad stuff and make like your sis or mum or something break it and it would be fun and ea t like junk food instead
It seem like its not your time now BUT it can be YOUR time.

Did you find you try to create drama when youre trying to quit smoking to give yourself an excuse to indulge? -

No. When I quit smoking I was too busy plotting on ways to steal a cigarette from my fiance. It was bad, but I tell you what. The first day was pure hell, the second day was okay, and after that some days I really want one but most I don-t even think about it. What I did was I weaned myself off. I-ve tried quitting cold turkey and absolutely couldn-t do it. I also tried the patch, that didn-t work either. So what I did was I went from one pack a day to half a pack for about a week. Then down to 5 cigarettes a day for about 2 weeks. Then I went to 4 for a week, then 3 for two weeks. Then when the rest of that pack was gone I quit (there was about a half a pack left). By the time I was on the last pack I was ready mentally and all I had to get over was the physical craving. Just remember that until you stop for good (no cheating) then you haven-t stopped. That really helped me out. I loved smoking, really loved it. And drinking, a lot. I quit doing both and it was damned hard but worth it. Good luck.

I am not able to use nicotine aids due to medical reasons. Does anyone have a natural remedy for quitting smoking?
Chantix (prescription) worked great for me -- heavy smoker
for more than 45 years -- check with your Doctor, it isn-t a
patch and may work for you too.
I was a smoker for 25 years and I had quit smoking for over six times ,but never really quit smoking before.Just after I read that quit smoking program, I realized how easy quitting smoking was.I am a non-smoker now! I highly recommend this program to you.It really works. You can check out

laser works 90% of the time this is a great way to do it without meds. Worked for me.Good Luck.
Simply put--willpower. I stopped smoking because I felt like crap and looked even worse, like crap cooked twice. That was motivation enough.
Find a girl (or boy) who likes you but hates smoking.

How can I quit smoking an the easiest way possible? -

I-m 39 and I had smoke for 20 years of my life.
Any help to reduce the...
1- abstinence syndrome and
2- any alternatives to improve a quickly detoxification
like for instance food or activities...
I will be so apretiated my friends.
Hey there, I recommend using the Self Awareness Method - which is free at the moment and helped me quit after 17 years of smoking a pack a day.

Just go to www.how-to-quit-cigarettes.com and get started. The site tells you exactly how you can try various ways to get rid of the habit.

There are live success stories on the site for you to trust your confidence in.

Just remember, you CAN do it.

The answerer above me refers to an audio file that has helped several people. It is not free and I have tried it and it did not work for me. But I still would suggest trying it as you don-t want to give up any option that can help you quit.
my tia has been smoking mostly all her life and has now quit and its been months since shes picked up a cig.
i would say that is not going to be easy seeing how its an addiction
but, you can try to create a hobby...
when you get the craving or feeling that you need to smoke you can do this hobby to keep you busy and help prevent the -time- you need to smoke
hope this helps...my tia gardens lol

edit: maybe you can be the handyman around the house and try to fix things or remodel, exercise like taking a walk
Hey chechin,

I-ve tried just about every method there is out there with zero success.
Gum patches and all the other just did not cut it for me, not to mention cold turkey which was the hardest, I even tried the electric cig and it is just no match to the real thing.

Eventually a friend told me about a NLP method that eliminates the cravings! check out this article:
http://www.squidoo.com/Not_Smoking_Any_M…

It’s the one that got me off the cigs and smoke free for GOOD! :)

Good luck kicking the habit!

It-s one of the most toughest things that I am dealing with. I get a lot of advice from this site. Take a look my friend..

I quit smoking to take the pill is it wrong to ask my boyfriend to do the same? -

I quit smoking to start the birth control pill and it bothers me that my boyfriend still goes out to coffee and smokes with his friends, he hardly does it at all but it really bothers me is it wrong to ask him to quit? It-s a discusting habit and I really don-t think anyone should do it-I want him to be healthy and it-s hard for me to not smoke when he does.
Quitting smoking is extremely hard to do. Congrats on your quitting. However, you could ask him to quit but I wouldn-t force the issue on him. Smoking is an addiction - it-s ulimately up to him on whether he wants to quit or not. Since he-s been a smoker while you two are together, it-s not anything new. Hopefully he will decide to quit - offer him lots of support!
he should be cool about it, i mean its not like giving up collage its giving up something gross and descustion!
Its insensitive that he still smokes. He should be supporting you, not enabling you. At the very least, he should do it when he-s not around you.
if you quit smoking ,thats great, but did he ask you to?if yes then its not wrong to expect that he should?however it is not an easy thing to do,its a personal choice that many people need help with .as for the coffee shop etc.those are totally different issues!
There is nothing wrong with asking him to think about it just don-t DEMAND. It-s a hard thing to do as you know.
if he hardly does it then he should have no problem quitting or giving up.
say exactly what you just did here to him. its hard to stop when he is smoking. Its not wrong at all but if he cant dont throw it in his face. I have tride quiting alot and nothing ever works but thats me.
First, congrats on your quitting. About your boyfriend.... Its not wrong to want him to quit and to talk to him about it. He may be willing to knowing he has your support. However, be prepared that it may take a couple tries. His willpower to quit may not be as strong as yours.
This seems like a strange mental concoction: You say it-s a disgusting habit, but you want to smoke if he does. You don-t like him to go out for coffee with his friends. You-re concerned about his health. Also your justification for quitting is not exactly appropriate. It sounds to me like you want to control your boyfriend-s life.

Here-s what I gleaned from a campus health service in NC:

-Smoking - 10 cigarettes per day after the age of 35 and OCP use increases the risk of several serious conditions including blood clots, stroke, heart attack, and high blood pressure. The pill has been found to be relatively safe for older women provided they do not smoke.-

You don-t strike me as a person in the over 35 category, so I think you could have an occasional smoke with your boyfriend and not worry. If that sounds too disgusting, let him have his occasional coffee smoke, otherwise he might be onto you.
It is nothing wrong with you asking him to quit smoking you have the right see him in better health cause it will help you and him in the long run do it now then later its much better go for it and good luck girl.
Well u could let him know that you are concern for his health as well and looking at a long run, a healthier him is better than lung or liver or any kind of cancer.

But u can-t tell him to do so as u are too, jusst let him knw tt u are concern, let him do the thinking and make his decision.
Admirable that you want to be healthy and him to do the same, but do you really want him on the pill?

aw it was hard for me to quit. if you are an everyday user like i was, start doing it once every 2 days for like a week, then go to once every week for a few weeks, then once every 2 weeks for like a month or two, then it should be no problem to quit after that
I found taking B12 vitamin help me quit smoking cigarettes. It took away cravings. I hardly drink any more also.Just on social occasions of even that. I used to drink every couple of days at least I feel much more relaxed once i started taking a B12 supplement. I take a 1000 mg dosage. b12 is a water soluble vitamin like vitamin c. I was told though you should not take more than 2500mg per day. The ones I take I dissolve under my tongue for maximum absorbtion into the blood stream
In old age homes the give out B12 shots to calm down patients
its not hard since marijuana isnt addictive. just stop buying it. do something else when you wanna get high. unlike the person above me who said cut your self from your friends??? wtf... dumb idea. its not their fault that you smoke. You can not smoke and still be friends with someone who smokes. Do something you like to do, when ever you want to get high.
dang, I don-t have an answer but I just wanted to say I didn-t mean to give a thumbs up to the fool above me. That was meant to be a thumbs DOWN.

It-s really weird that people have nothing better to do than troll around and give stupid answers when somebody is really asking an honest question.
Addictions are addictions. You gotta treat this illness as though you were quitting smoking or drugs.

1. Go see the dr. They have some great meds that make things easier.
2. Consider psychotherapy.
3. Join a support group.

TX Mom

it shouldn-t be hard, if you really want to, it-ll take almost no will power. Just don-t hang out with people who smoke for a while and get rid of any weed you have.
Make pot tea. Make pot brownies. Make pot suckers! The sky is the limit!
Don-t buy none. find something else to something to do instead.
by stop buying it. cut yourself off from your friends that do smoke it and just say no.
start using heroin
dont do such a silly thing
