Ne home remidies on how to quit smoking? -

so iv been smoking for about a year and i really wanna quit so is there ne thing that you know of that actually works like home remidies or ne thing else please help lol
Smoking is more of a psychological addiction than a physical one. If you really want to quit you must discover the reasons why you smoke and then eliminate or change these thought processes.

Once you deal with the psychological side of smoking it makes the quitting process easy, no matter your level of addiction.

Quitting smoking does not require any patches, gums, hypnosis or anything like that. These methods are expensive, time consuming and simply do not work. All that is required is a bit of motivation, self belief and determination.

Good Luck and Good Quitting

Drink lots of cold water. It-ll help flush your system out. You can get some lobelia extract and add it to your tea. Follow the directions. For some reason it helps with cravings. Get lots of sleep and eat right. Your body will detox and you-ll feel the effects. I was tired a LOT, and super crabby. I had insomnia too. You can take Benadryl or melatonin to get your sleep on schedule. You can also go to a site like quitnet.com. They helped me a lot. The bottom line is that you have to want to stay quit more than you want to smoke.
everytime u want a ciggarrette..take a plain straw..hold it between the 2 fingers and inhale and exhale....it helped my aunt quit smoking..if that dont work..get TONS of suckers..everytime u want a ciggarrette..suck on a sucker..it helped my step brother quit...u could try some of that niccorette gum stuff too. along with the straw if needed. good luck. and congrats on the decision to stop smoking :)
Get some fire runnin in the fireplace, throw ALL your cigarettes in, sit down and watch.

Then, never buy cigs again. I can-t really stop you from buying them though.

If a person has quit smoking for several years, would using a low dose nicotine patch make one smoke again? -

If a person has quit smoking for several years, would using a low dose nicotine patch make one smoke again? -

Would it make a person crave more cigarettes?
There are reports that folks get addicted to the pacth and or gum
That is a very good and very tricky question.

It shouldn-t do because you-re not getting into the habit of putting it into your mouth and/or getting into the habit where you need to find something different to do with your hands.

The actual habit from smoking and trying to break it is more psychological than anything else, especially after the first 5 days.

How do I quit smoking? -

I-m 19 and I-ve been smoking since I was 14, chain smoking since 16. I pretty much have no physical addiction, I didn-t smoke for the 3 months I was in boot camp and it didn-t affect me any way but mentally. However, the day I got out I started smoking again. I-ve just built up habits, like especially when I drive I have to smoke. How do I break these habits? I-m sick of damaging my body, but I can-t overcome the desire to smoke.
Put it in writing. People who want to make a change often are more successful when they put it in writing. So write down all the reasons why you want to quit smoking, such as the money you will save or the stamina you-ll gain for playing sports. Keep that list where you can see it, and add to it as you think of new reasons.

Get support. People whose friends and family help them quit are much more likely to succeed. If you don-t want to tell your parents or family that you smoke, make sure your friends know, and consider confiding in a counselor or other adult you trust. And if you-re having a hard time finding people to support you (if, say, all your friends smoke and none of them is interested in quitting), you might consider joining a support group, either in person or online.

Set a quit date. Pick a day that you-ll stop smoking. Tell your friends (and your family, if they know you smoke) that you-re going to quit smoking on that day. Just think of that day as a dividing line between the smoking you and the new and improved nonsmoker you-ll become. Mark it on your calendar.

Throw away your cigarettes — all of your cigarettes. People can-t stop smoking with cigarettes still around to tempt them. Even toss out that emergency pack you have stashed in the secret pocket of your backpack. Get rid of your ashtrays and lighters, too.

Wash all your clothes. Get rid of the smell of cigarettes as much as you can by washing all your clothes and having your coats or sweaters dry-cleaned. If you smoked in your car, clean that out, too.

Think about your triggers. You-re probably aware of the situations when you tend to smoke, such as after meals, when you-re at your best friend-s house, while drinking coffee, or as you-re driving. These situations are your triggers for smoking — it feels automatic to have a cigarette when you-re in them. Once you-ve figured out your triggers, try these tips:

Avoid these situations. For example, if you smoke when you drive, get a ride to school, walk, or take the bus for a few weeks. If you normally smoke after meals, make it a point to do something else after you eat, like read or call a friend.
Change the place. If you and your friends usually smoke in restaurants or get takeout and eat in the car, suggest that you sit in the no-smoking section the next time you go out to eat.
Substitute something else for cigarettes. It can be hard to get used to not holding something and having something in your mouth. If you have this problem, stock up on carrot sticks, sugar-free gum, mints, toothpicks, or even lollipops.
Expect some physical symptoms. If you smoke regularly, you-re probably physically addicted to nicotine and your body may experience some symptoms of withdrawal when you quit. These may include:

headaches or stomachaches
crabbiness, jumpiness, or depression
lack of energy
dry mouth or sore throat
desire to pig out
Luckily, the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal will pass — so be patient. Try not to give in and sneak a smoke because you-ll just have to deal with the symptoms longer.

Keep yourself busy. Many people find it-s best to quit on a Monday, when they have school or work to keep them busy. The more distracted you are, the less likely you-ll be to crave cigarettes. Staying active is also a good way to make sure you keep your weight down and your energy up, even as you-re experiencing the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Quit gradually. Some people find that gradually decreasing the number of cigarettes they smoke each day is an effective way to quit. However, this strategy doesn-t work for everyone — you may find you have to stop completely at once. This is known as -cold turkey.-

Use a nicotine replacement if you need to. If you find that none of these strategies is working, you might talk to your doctor about treatments. Using a nicotine replacement, such as gum, patches, inhalers, or nasal sprays, can be very helpful. Sprays and inhalers are available by prescription only, and it-s important to see your doctor before buying the patch and gum over the counter. That way, your doctor can help you find the solution that will work best for you. For example, the patch requires the least effort on your part, but it doesn-t offer the almost instantaneous nicotine kick that gum does.

If you slip up, don-t give up! Major changes sometimes have false starts. If you-re like many people, you may quit successfully for weeks or even months and then suddenly have a craving that-s so strong you feel like you have to give in. Or maybe you accidentally find yourself in one of your trigger situations and give in to temptation. If you slip up, it doesn-t mean you-ve failed, it just means you-re human. Here are some ways to get back on track:

Think about your slip as one mistake. Take notice of when and why it happened and move on.
Did you become a heavy smoker after one cigarette? We didn-t think so — it happened more gradually, over time. Keep in mind that one cigarette didn-t make you a smoker to start with, so smoking one cigarette (or even two or three) after you-ve quit doesn-t make you a smoker again.
Remind yourself why you-ve quit and how well you-ve done — or have someone in your support group, family, or friends do this for you.
Reward yourself. As you already know, quitting smoking isn-t easy. Give yourself a well-deserved reward! Set aside the money you usually spend on cigarettes. When you-ve stayed tobacco free for a week, 2 weeks, or a month, buy yourself a treat like a new CD, book, movie, or some clothes. And every smoke-free year, celebrate again. You earned it.
see your doctor, join a group to help you quit, eat ice cubes when you feel like smoking.
Think about all that smoke being clogged up in your body and google image -smokers lungs- and see what your lungs most likely look like.

Good luck and try not to think about it.
im pretty sure the 1st answer covered everything.
Perhaps the nicorette activestop program might help.

It seems in the house of the person who smokes_ There are always some food -there- because he loses the appetite for food a lot !
- The thieves rarely invade his house to steel from him because most of the time he coughs a lot ,therefore the thieves will know somebody is always in the house. In -another word he becomes a system alarm for his own house during day time and also night time.
- And when he develops emphysema (lungs disease) he stars to walk with a cane .As a result of that he causes to the dogs some type of fear(phobia) in their hearts when they anticipate to bark on him or take a bite of him.
The best way to quit smoking is : -To understand the medical word -emphysema-.Also understand the effect of walking with a bottle of 02 and also when is about to get empty and no one around you and more seriously than that when your phone is not working during an attempt of making that 911 call to rush to nearest -EMR-
-Attend some funeral service of some one who die from an illness which related to smoking and look at his face and see whether his cells had been tortured by the deadly potential of nicotine or not!
- And think the more you smoke the more you are shorting your life span
yesterday
join the NHS stop smoking scheme - this will really help. Also, just force yourslef to stop. Everytime you ge the urge to smoke, throw your ciggarette down and stamp on it. Crush it into the ground, completly killing it. This give you a sense of happiness that you are stopping, but just make sure you do not go near a single ciggy!

I know I should stop, but I don-t want to stop...I actually like it-but I feel the effects taking a toll on my body. How can I kick the habit???
Well, it has been said its as strong as heroin. Try a series of steps:

Cold Turkey...Take away the money of what you use to buy cigarette-s, avoid stopping to buy them.

Use websites online such as mytimetoquit or anything through any government websites.

Try a support group, this works well as I have heard...its great help to quit.

I have also heard eating things like twizzlers, pretzle rods etc help the urge its that oral fixation.

Just remember how your body is taking this.

Put your money to side of what you use to smoke and use it for something else. -

-Best of luck!
There is a program on the American Lung Association website called Freedom From Smoking which is very good. From the time you start you get 3 weeks to prepare you to quit and do different exercises to help you prepare. Give it a try, it is free!

What is the best way to quit smoking while your pregnant i cant use patches i have an allergy to them? -

Just think about your child when he is born and think if he come into your life sick because of your stubbornness and what is your life is going to be 24 hours a day because you will have take care of your child. If you want to quit -smoking- just plain quit. You will be happier if you do. Good luck!!
Try the Commit lozenges, they-re easier than the gum and more effective than the patch anyway. But be aware that this isn-t completely safe for your child -- all of these products still contain nicotine. There are other stop-smoking meds that don-t, such as Chantix and Wellbutrin, but they may be contraindicated in pregnant women -- you-d have to consult with your doctor (they-re prescription meds anyway). The safest course, if you can, is to stop cold turkey.
well maybe you should first off think of the harm that you are putting he or she in and realize they could get sick. Also i will say that you could stop buying them and if you are feeling stressed read a book or use one of the stress balls.(they really work)
Hope i helped!
Your child should be the best way/reason to quit. let it be your motivation.

ps. it-s you-re not your.
Chew gum, don-t by ciggarettes(?) nd think about your kid

Can a pharmacist help me quit smoking? -

I want to quit smoking and I deffinately need help. However, it takes so long to get in to see my family doctor and I-m wondering if I could just speak to my local pharmacist and get the same answers?
Absolutely, there may even be a smoking clinic run by a pharmacist in your area. They can help with information, show you how to use the nicotine products, adjust usage to your level of smoking etc. The only thing you really need a physician for is if you want to try the prescription products.
A pharmacist can help you quit smoking,he will tell you about the products which may help you and give advise/info about this and maybe he now about a class/seminar about stop smoking groups. The mayor thing in this, is that you`re motivated,if not, nothing will help.
Wouldn-t it just be easier not to buy any more cigarettes and go from there?

have been breaking out with pimples and I wondered if any other ex-smokers went through anything similiar? What the heck is going on? I am 29 and he-s 35, so we are waaay past hitting puberty haha. Thanks for any suggestions :)
Yes, normal. They are called -Quit Zits-. It-s your body getting rid of all the junk it had from smoking. Beleieve it or not, its a good sign.

I-m going to give you a link to a site that I used a lot when I quit. It helped me out bundles and I still pop on there now and then.

It gives tips, advice, support and answers questions like this one 24 hours a day. Take the time to check it out (its free too which is great!).

Congrats on quitting!
It may be a side-effect of the drug, if you are still on it. It is listed as one of the infrequent ones:
-Infrequent: Acne, Dermatitis, Dry skin, Eczema, Erythema, Psoriasis, Urticaria. Rare:
Photosensitivity reaction-

could be side effects of the chantix...ask your doctor or call the pharmacy where u got it =)

(going thru the same thing for the same reason -- think you just confirmed my suspicions, thanks)
Congratulations!
Some people react differently with Chantix, some side effects reported with CHANTIX were nausea, headache, insomnia, and abnormal dreams.

But, is a good medication to stop nicotine dependency.
Is acne a side effect of the meds? Ask your doctor. Adult acne is common, if you are really worried about it ask your doctor for help getting rid of it.

Congrats on the quitting smoking!
Congrats! I hit my three month mark yesterday
*does a happy dance*

I-m not on any meds, but in the past week or so I have gotten a few pimples appearing on my forehead which is not usual for me. (I-m 33). So maybe it is a side effect of the detox. I have always heard that smoking dries out your skin, so maybe what you two (and me) are experiencing is our skin is re-hydrating finally and getting a bit more oily then it has in a while.

I hope this helps, and good luck with keeping off the smokes.
i totally went through this when I quit (congrats BTW, 5 years for me YIPPY) i was like 26 when I quit and I got all icky faced and my hair got weird. It did eventually pass, I think your body is detoxifying, once it does pass, wow, what soft skin you will have and you-ll smell good too :)
Congrats on kicking the habit

I smoked for over 20 yrs and its worrys than being addicted to heroin I quit cold turkey and thats been 2 yrs ago and I still want one but try that and good luck and take something to settle your nerves
just stop buying the cigarette and when the urge is coming try to munch on some fruits. it works well on my husband who used to smoke three 20 sticks cigarette per day. it takes him about 1 month to go thru.
you just have to have the willpower to quit. I don-t smoke, but I heard that cold turkey is the best way to do it if you are serious.
my mom got a laser treatment done it was like 300 bucks im not gonna lie to you and say it worked caus for her it didnt but it has worked for other people the only reason it doesnt work si fi u follow ur daily routines where u smoked.
and find a substatute for smokeing cause ur gonna wanna hold a cigerette in ur hand so instead suck on a sucker or something.
sex is the best easiest way to quit smoking, but by the time u quit smoke, u will be sex addict!
chewies
Just go and sit outside the cancer hospital..............and then ruminate over life............
Ask your doctor about Chantix. Some of my family members use it and seem to find it effective.
There is a prescription medication called Wellbutrin that is sure to work. I-ve known many people who have stopped or at least smoked significantly less after taking it. Ask your doctor about it.
I have a couple suggestions...
1. Complete mind over matter. Eliminate cigarettes from your life, don-t buy any, don-t hang around it. When you get a craving, try nicotine gum, or regular gum for that matter. Cigarettes are not a necessary part of your daily habits. Just quit.
if that doesn-t work or is unrealistic
2. Start smoking a particularily disgusting brand of cigarettes. When you feel the need to smoke, smoke one of those. Cut back to just a few a day. When you get used to those, move on to a different disgusting one.
Nobody said it would be easy. Just do it!
go cold turkey if my dad that smoked 4 packs a day can then im sure anyone can
They didnt work for me either, you have to just buckle down and do it,the fist three weeks are hell, good luck
Go cold turkey
you need Chantix! its a pill that your doctor can give you... www.chantix.com
Go to a shrink. Maybe you have a trigger in life. Like my friends mom, whenever she gets angry she smokes.
Try taking Zyban.
Cold turkey is really the only thing I know that works the best. Both my stepdad and I quit this way and we-ve been smoke-free ever since. I quite about a year about while he quit 3 years ago and he smoked for over 50 years! I only smoked about 2 years but it was still horrible for me.

Best of luck!
There is a stop smoking CD by Kevin Trudeau at natural cures . com It worked for my husband.
Honestly, I tried a LOT of things to quit, and never could until I got pregnant. I know there are a lot of -smoking classes-. Like medical type help, and that is what I was going to do before I got pregnant and quit. Good luck though. I know it is very hard.
keep smoking.
wellbutrin for a month, or chantix.
gum, or it sound stupid but go to rehab, they wont let you...

Is it true that if I quit smoking today my breath would still smell like smoke for two weeks? -

Is it true that if I quit smoking today my breath would still smell like smoke for two weeks? -

I read somewhere that the tar in my lungs will still give off a smell on my breath even if I haven-t actually had a cigarette recently ... is this true?
no.

two weeks? how silly. use listerine and 99.9% of detectable stench goes away immediately.

cheers!
Yes, its true. Also true that clothes and car and home will smell of smoke for quite some time. I quit smoking a month ago and still releasing tar from my lungs. But will get better with time.
yes it would, but a friend of mine brushed her teeth everyday and gargled. She washed all her bedding, sheets, blankets, pillows and casings, curtains all her bathroom towels, rugs and bought a new shower curtain. then had her rugs washed and cleaned by professionals. Took every ones cloths and got them dry cleaned and underwear washed. And after a few weeks her house smelled good enough to go visit her all the time. Her friends started coming around more too.
In most cases yes, your breath will still smell bad for 2 to4 weeks(or more).. Mints - mouthwash will only coverup the problem that-s coming from your lungs. Basically the lungs act as gas filters, taking CO2 out - allow O2 in. The lungs can heal themselves if given the chance. Stop smoking AND eating properly AND execising properly will give the whole body a fighting chance.
not true, but everything you own would still stink.
Yes it is.
who cares its still better for you to quit smoking period!!! its the most disgusting thing you could ever do in your life!!
SMOKE WEED EVERY DAYYYYYY
You will have bad breath permanently now unless you use mouth wash products and such. All the tar in the cigarettes has now stuck to your lungs and turned them black, this is pretty much irreversible unless you have surgery now and I for one don-t pity you. There-s clear warnings on every pack of cigs you buy and it-s your own fault you have bad breath now.

How can I convince my husband to quit smoking without pestering him? -

I love my husband dearly but wish he would quit smoking. I know I can-t make him quit, and I do good not to bother him about it constently, I just drop a few hints now and then. He gets mad at me if I won-t buy cigarettes for him. I can-t help it, I want him to quit so I feel bad if I do buy them. Is that so wrong of me? My grandfather died of lung cancer due to smoking most of his life. I don-t want to see my husband die from it too. I love him too much. I tease him and tell him if he loves me and the kids he would quit. He teases back and says if I love him, I would pick some up when I-m at the store. His father smokes too and he-s developing a really nasty cough from it. Does he not see how bad it is? He says he doesnt care, it helps him relieve stress. How can I convince him there are better things out there for that? I mean, I-m right here...the kids are here...isn-t that strong enough motive? And the smell! Makes the kids stink when he holds them. Its horrible! What can I say?
Dear 1hotmama,
I was looking through the health questions for the same reason! Weird! This morning I talked to my husband about him quiting smoking. He became quiet and then got mad at me. He smokes more than a pack a day and has started to develop a nasty annoying cough. His sister died at 45 of cancer and his mother has been under Dr-s. care for a spot on her lungs. Needless to say they all smoke. I don-t allow smoking in our house. He smokes on the porch. I do not buy cigarettes for him. He just buys them by the carton and keeps them in his truck. I am a reformed smoker....did it with the patch...7 years smoke free. He won-t even try to quit.
What to do?!!!! I surely don-t know but thank you for the question. I-ll pray for them both, ok?
tell him you won-t buy them for him. it-s his bad habit and it-s his choice and that-s that. offer to help him find a way out when he-s ready. but the more you harp on his the more he probably digs his heels in and sticks with this bad habit. he knows it-s wrong and yet he pressures you to buy him smokes? he isn-t respecting you or himself.
The reading I have done about hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) indicates that many addictions, compulsions and obsessions may be the body-s way of coping with low blood sugar (which may affect 40% of Americans without their knowledge).

I would make sure that you request a full physical exam with blood tests from the doctor, making sure that the fasting blood insulin test is one of them. Get yours done too. If your husband registers high (more than 10) then you may be able to convince him to start a diet to moderate his insulin production. You can maybe do that without his knowledge - if you are the cook for the family. If he does that, he may find the need for cigarettes to decrease naturally. He may find he is less stressed and relaxing enough without them.

There is more info about low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) at www.hufa.org.

Good luck.
Trying to convince someone to do something that they do not want to do will automatically pester that person, so there-s a -no-win- to this.

However, I do agree with not buying them for him. I smoke, and I do not ask anyone to purchase them for me. If I were (which I pray to never, ever be) unable to get them for myself, I would end up not smoking anymore.

All smokers know how harmful smoking is; we choose to find our own personal justifications for doing it, or the arrogant acceptance of the ills from smoking.

Only the smoker can stop themselves from smoking, and they get good and ready to.
you can-t help some one who does not want to be helped, but I would tell him he can not smoke around the kids that his second hand smoke will kill them and one day they will want to smoke.I feel for him I too was a 2or 3 pack a day smoker and my husband never complained I had to decide myself that I wanted to stop, and so does he,but at least now they have things that will make it easier, has he try ed the patch? or the gum, may you could suggest this and see were it goes, but please don-t let him smoke around your kids that is selfish.
You can-t. It is a decision he has to make.
you and the kids start walking around with masks on your faces
make it a strategy and have an internal war ,get the kids to colaborate

tell him that you are worried about the future and want to have a lover as a prospective replacement and get him to get a good life insurance ,in case he dies

put photograps of him around the house ,and built a shrine with lit candles and tell him that you are practising being sad ,for when he will die .

walk around in black mourning dresses and tell him that you want to be ready ,that you dont want to look an idiot at his funeral
etc

What can I do to alleviate the emotional intensity of just having quit smoking, drinking alcohol and coffee? -

What can I do to alleviate the emotional intensity of just having quit smoking, drinking alcohol and coffee? -

I recently found out that I-m pregnant - so no more smoking, drinking coffee or alcohol, etc. The problem is, I-m feeling extremely aggravated ALL the time. My temper is extremely short and I snap easily. I-m not sure what I can do, or if there-s something safe for me to take, to help.
Did you find out you were pregnant right away, or when you were further along? Sometimes if you-re farther along, the doctor will suggest that you quit smoking gradually, rather than cold turkey, to avoid withdrawal in your baby.

You can keep drinking coffee. Try switching to decaf for all but one cup a day--that way you still get SOME of the caffeine you-re used to, and you still get to drink coffee, but you-re well within the limits of allowable caffeine intake.

Try drinking something other than alcohol--I know it-s not the same effect, but it-s better than nothing. Babycenter.com has a list of virgin drinks to try:
http://www.babycenter.com/0_pregnancy-sa…

And most of all, talk to your doctor about how to deal with the multiple withdrawals that your body is going through. I-m sure she/he will be able to give you some tips!
you do not have to stop having caffeine completely...you can have it in moderation. try drinking a soda or something to help with the cravings. as far as smoking and drinking....not sure.

Why do I keep sneezing when I quit smoking? -

Why do I keep sneezing when I quit smoking? -

I-ve been quitting smoking for a while. Two weeks on two weeks off etc etc ad tedium. But that-s not my question. Each time I get a few days in I start sneezing. Now I-m aware that quitting ironically makes you cough, cos all the gak is working it-s way out of your lungs, but why the sneezing??
First - Congratulations on attempting to quit smoking.
But do yourself and your lungs a favor - quit completely.
Never touch that evil stuff.

Mechanism behind your sneezing? Your body adjusts to absence of chemicals and smoke and it is happily breathing away. Then, you zap it with smoke. So it is asking: -hey, what the heck are you doin- buster?......... I am trying to get back to normal and you are putting some garbage in here.-

Listen to it. The follicles inside your lungs are trying to happily wave away and receive oxygen and you are depriving it of its natural function. So it tries to get rid of by a violent shake (sneeze). Makes sense?

In our lungs are tiny hairs called cilia and when you smoke it paralyzes these hairs. about 72 hours after a person quits smoking the cilia regain normal function pushing up and moving all the phlegm. It is completely normal and will go away after a while. The sneezing works the same way, it is a reaction to gaining normal function of your lungs.
Like you-ve said, -the gak is working it-s way out of your lungs-. The windpipe is connected to the nose in someways so if there is something blocking, you should get it. And for a little more help, getting off and on doesn-t make you stop smoking. If you want to stop smoking, you need to have the determination to do it so maybe fill your time with something else rather than smoking whenever you feel like it.
Your sinuses are clearing up from all the smoke - tar that is clogged up there.
I do not know I-ve never smoked... GO ME!!!!!!!!!!!!

I quit smoking 6 months ago but i still always feel like smoking again is this normal? -

So did I. I keep getting the same urges myself. I was on Chantix which blocks that part of the brain that causes these urges. It works, but once you-re off, the urges come back. Just today I asked my DR to call in another prescription for it because I really want to smoke again but I also don-t want to start over again. It is normal. What I did today also was join the YMCA. I-m going to go there and take my frustrations out on the machines. They say it gets better. I-m still waiting. I refuse to go back. Good luck, Don-t start up again. Seek out another outlet.
First i want to say congratulations. Remember -out of sight, out of mind-. like previous -bloggers- have noted, stay away from others or area where people are smoking. Also chewing gum does help a lot and calm your cravings. However, you should focus of devoting your free time to other activities like exercising, reading, writing, listening to music, talk on the phone, surf the web, or eating. Surround yourself with other activities to keep your mind off of the cravings. Im sure you noticed how not smoking has already made your clean softer and cleaner. Im sure you have noticed how fresh you are, your hands, breath, clothes, and hair. Remember how far you have come and focus on not letting your efforts go in vain. Im sure you have more energy now and can also breath easier. Alcohol increases your cravings, so try to stay away from it, and limit it to only occasional use. Good Luck, feel good, stay healthy and Congratulations again.
Hi Bumble,

What an achievement. Great to read your story.

The urge to smoke will always be there. Best ways to avoid smoking are to keep away from smokers and places where you smoked.

Control your urges. After you move away from the situation the urge will go away.

You are doing a wonderful job. Keep it up.
In all honesty, that is something you will be dealing with for years to come. That is part of the reason why its SOOOOO hard to quit. It just doesnt go away after a few months of hard work, it stays there, in the back of your mind. EVERY time I smell it, I want it.
Yes its normal. I quit in december and i still get urges. I took a couple puffs off a cig a couple months ago and after that i realised i wasnt missing anything. Im sure ur not missing much either. Good luck
I know this is probably a repetitive answer, but try chewing gum. My dad smoked a pack a day, and ate alota gum every day and he-s been smoke free about 6 months as well. Sorry if this isn-t that greatest good luck hope this helps :)
You have to replace the addiction with another less health risking one, try crack

How do you get rid of yellow tobacco stains off the fingers, while youre trying to quit smoking?it looks awful! -

How do you get rid of yellow tobacco stains off the fingers, while youre trying to quit smoking?it looks awful! -

Step1 Rub the nicotine stains on your fingers vigorously with half a lemon, allowing the juice to soak in for at least 10 minutes. Lemon is a natural astringent and absorbs deeply into the skin, cleansing without overdrying.

Step2 Use potatoes for nicotine stain removal. The simple act of peeling a dozen potatoes will quickly remove stains; however you can cut a potato in half and rub it into your skin, as you would with a lemon. Allow the juice to set for 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing.

Step3 Dissolve an aspirin tablet in 1 cup of hot water and soak your fingers to remove those pesky stains from your skin. This aspirin and water method also works for removing nicotine stains from clothing and walls.

Step4 Remove difficult stains by rubbing the skin with a pumice stone after applying any of the above remedies. Pumice should only be used for the initial stain removal, as excessive use will cause damage to your skin and can build calluses. Once the major spots are gone, you can use the above methods for routine nicotine stain removal.

Step5 Keep your skin moisturized to create a barrier, preventing the nicotine from soaking deep into the layers of the skin. Applying Vitamin E oil to your hands daily will not only help your skin to remain healthy and beautiful, it will make it more difficult for nicotine to stain your fingers.
Try a whitening toothpaste - rub on hands and rinse

A paste of baking soda and water can also work .

Lemon does too.

A little bleach in water won-t hurt either

Peroxide is a whitener /bleach too.

* Use soap and water afterwards and a good skin conditioner

* Do not use a brillow pad as someone suggested . No sandpaper either -- you would be surprised at what some folks will do

No one method will immediately remedy the situation. It takes time .

Good Luck in your endeavor to quit smoking !
I did it ..10yrs now ..smoke free
You can-t. It will gradually disappear if you quit and the skin gradually sheds and replaces itself. Good luck with the quit.
use the white part of the lemon rind and rub that substance into the stained skin - then use a Brillo pad or pumice stone and the stain will scrub right off...dont foreget to moisturise the skin afterwards...good luck with quittiing

How long after quitting smoking should someone wait before making other life changes? -

How long after quitting smoking should someone wait before making other life changes? -

I quit smoking 5 days ago, and I have been thinking about starting ether starting up an exorcise routine or some kind of diet, but I don-t want to undermine the progress I made so far. So I was wondering If anyone out their who is working on a similar set of life changes knows about how far apart to space these sort of things out.
whatever is comfortable for you. there is no right answer for that sort of thing. do whatever you feel works best for you.
If you start exercising now just be careful you don-t replace one addiction (smoking) with another (exercise). Exercise can be bad too in high amounts. It definitely would help though but perhaps make an exercise plan and stick to it to avoid this happening. Keep up the good work on the no-smoking :)
First off, congratulations. And i think you can start whenever you want to, exercising will keep you off smoking even more and it will lead to a healthier lifestyle.
actually exercise may help with the quitting smoking.

go for it.i did it..all at once..and so far i-ve been quit for 4 years
you need the right treatment in order to make a difference. As it always goes with the smokers, their craving for nicotine is hard to be overcome. Every smoker swears that he will quit the habit -tomorrow- and forever, but it never happens. In my case, however, my physician had advised me to stop smoking as I suffered from migraines continuously for days and I had to miss my work. His prescription drugs only made me physically and mentally worse and soon I was out of my daily routine. I discontinued the drugs and continued to smoke as usual. One of my old friends told me to buy smoke deter to quit smoking.

I knew there were some supplements claiming to create an aversion to smoking, like -smoking aid-, -quit smoking in 7 days-, -anti smoking pill,- etc. The owners of suchlike products were making money by exaggerating the facts. I had tried some of these products but I did not find anything worthwhile in them and I was reluctant to buy smoke deter as one of such type of supplements.

One day, I got up from my seat in the middle of some important point in a meeting and went out to smoke a cigarette. My same old friend who was attending the meeting again advised me to buy smoke deter this time to give it a try.

I read the full details about smoke deter and came to know that unlike other supplements, it was purely a homeopathic combination and did not have any side effects. The supplements I had used had caused burning and inflammation in my mouth. Though, I was doubtful about it being safe to use, I bought it just to see if it worked as my health was seriously running down. I had its first dose in the form of a spray under my tongue and it tasted a little bit like alcohol mixed with something like a flower essence, which was relishing.

I used the remedy as per directions put on the label but didn-t find any effect on me. I was smoking as usual and I was very much worried about what to do further. In frustration, I discontinued its use and was thinking of some other alternative like self-hypnosis to boost my confidence to quit the habit at once. But after a few days, I did felt its effect and whenever I wanted to smoke, I found there was not an intense urge like before. It is more than a year now I haven-t smoked a single cigarette.

The smoke deter is free from any crude herbal substances and it contains only herbal dilutions in tincture form or in potency to act mildly on human organism and some dilutions in 200c to affect the mental sphere to get rid of the habit of smoking.

Check the url in the source box below for a free trial and also more info about this product. It seems to confirm some of my comments and is dedicated to helping smokers improve their health, fitness and beat the smoking habit.

How did you quit smoking weed? -

Ok im 19, ive been smoking for about 3 or 4 years. I REALLY want to quit!!!! ive said -this is my last sack- a MILLION times but i always end up smoking again...i really believe im addicted! and yes weed CAN BE ADDICTIVE!!! and i dont want help, i want to do it on my own but what are some steps i can take to quit completely?? ANY advice will help...
Yes weed is addictive, it-s a mental addiction. It-s not a physcial addiction, but it-s really strong to kick- but you can do it. You need to find within yourself why you do it other than the feeling of being high. Sometimes it-s the people around you that you need to kick too. When I quit, for good reasons, my friends were there to help me. They wouldn-t smoke around me and wait to smoke til after we all hung out. If your friends aren-t that courteous, you may need to kick them, I-ve had to do it too. In the long run they should either know why, or you may not need them at all.
Delete all contacts, you know, your bud man, people you may sell to, or smoke with, and let them know you-re quitting. If they ever don-t take you seriously, or call you out on it, kick them too.
It-s kicking the habit, and they are apart of it.
If it-s stress or they way you wind down, or go to sleep, find a good substitute.
Don-t give yourself the time of day, or opportunity, to go blaze.
Do all the research about how bad weed can be, and evangelize yourself.
Realize that when you quit, you have more money, more breathe, not get as sick as often, etc.
I hope this helps you get started. Just understand weed is one of the easiest substances that you abuse and can relapse on.
Just wean yourself off slowly. Like skip a day and then two days and three days, whatever. Plus I find it-s easier to do things when you decide to do them less but not use the term quit. If you say you-re quiting it makes it very hard when you are tempted to do it again, but if you say you-re cutting down it-s pretty easy to acknowledge you don-t need to do it then but might at sometime in the future.
im the same as you 19 and been smoking for 4 years..

honestly its who you hangged out with
im sure your friends always smoke weed and want to buy some am i right?/

next time just say you have no money
or go out and buy yourself something instead of the weed!!
trust me the first 3 days its hard
but after you keep saying no itll be sooo eassy!!

and hey who said you have to totally quit
maybe take a hit every now and then! ;)
I don-t think it-s physically addictive, definatly mentally tho. I quit because it started giving me major anxiety. I still smoke once n a while but only when i drink. The only way to quit is to not be around it anymore but thats hard sometimes if your friends do it.
when i moved here from texas i quit smoking. i dont know what -steps- you could take, aside from using self control. i just plain quit. my fiance is a recovering heroin addict and that helped me to decide not to start back again, i feel it would be disrespectful to him if i smoke or am high around him. so i just dont do it. all in all, it-s worth it
I quit cold turkey for a few drug tests... It wasn-t hard for me at all but for you I would reccomend a substitute. When my friend quit he started running all the time to distract his mind, that was his substitute. You might want something physical though... try switching to fake weed (-bush-). It won-t get you high, but it will satisfy the need to smoke with out getting you hooked on something really dangerous (i.e. cigarettes).
I tried to quit and my downfall is the same i keep hanging out with people who smoke alot of weed, so that would be my suggestion for your first step.
I haven-t quit smoking weed, but I stop 3-6 months at a time sometimes.

Just quit cold turkey. You say it can be addictive, but that-s never the case for me.
just take you time

you can always cut down and gradually stop

if you stop straight away it can cause more stress so just try to slow it down

i wish you the best of luck
You stop,

it has absolutely NO addictive properties.
will power is needed and alot of dedication!

if u have these 2 ingredients then you will do it?

the first 3 days are the worst!
You need WILL POWER!!!!!
YOU CAN DO IT!!!
Broke up with b/f that I smoked too much weed with, and deleted my dealers number.
I ran out of weed and money at the same time.
I-m 25. I smoked every single day from the time I was 17 until last February. Which means I haven-t smoked in one year. I honestly thought I would never quit smoking because I enjoyed it so much. In order to determine whether or not you-re addicted, you need to ask yourself some questions.

Do you experience any type of loss so that you can continue to smoke. Losing family, friends, relationships, etc...

Do you spend money you don-t have on weed? Are your bills overdue so you can continue to get high?

Can you really not stop, or do you just don-t want to? Are your thoughts preoccupied with getting high? Do you think about it all the time?

If you answered yes to any of these, you may be addict, and if you truly are an addict, then the only sure way to stop is to get treatment.

Also, if you-re predisposed to alcoholism, there-s a very good chance that you may be addicted to marijuana. I-ve read medical studies that say anywhere from 70-85% of people who are predisposed to alcoholism will become addicted to marijuana once they start smoking regularly. My dad was an alcoholic, so I thought I was addicted to pot too, but then I just decided to try and stop. I just decided to not buy any more, and I-ve had people offer to smoke with me many times since then, and have turned it down with no problems. I figured out I wasn-t addicted because I stopped with no problems.

Marijuana is a profound addiction for people who can become addicted. Most people with no history of alcoholism won-t become addicted to it. That-s why there are so many people who say it-s not addictive.

Also, there is no such thing as mental addiction and physical addiction. There-s only addiction. You either can stop, or you can-t.

Good luck.
i never started..never have never will

Just say no

Getting nervous now ~ i am about to try and quit smoking
went to doctors yesterday got patches and inhalator-s last ciggies will be sunday night arrrrrah never tried to quit before
been smoking 10 years need to give up as ttc and want to be as healthy as i can be
anyone who-s quit or trying to quit give me some advice xxx
You will always fancy a smoke.
It never goes away but after the first couple of weeks it gets much easier!
I found ice lollies a great help though.
I ate loads the first couple of weeks!

PS the patches and inhilators are hopeless!
You-ll be fine, and I can guarantee that you-ll stop smoking if you just remember this: I was born without any lung issues. My mom had never smoked, never had friends who did, etc. All it took for me to develope asthma (around 4 years old) was my granddad smoking around me whenever the grandparents came to visit. I now have mild asthma that can kill me if I push it too far, and is a major pain in the butt because I love sports and pushing my limits. You don-t want that for your kiddo someday, so every time you-re thinking htat you can-t do it, just remember that it-s not entirely for you, it-s for the child you-re hoping to have someday, and there are always other ways of coping with stresses and triggers. Working out is actually a great way to do that- will suppress the urge to smoke and also get you in better shape and better condition to conceive!
1st- congrats! I quit after 10years as well!
I can-t tell you how much better I feel! Quitting has made a huge diff. in my life.
Everyone has their own -way- of quitting. Cold turkey, patches, decreasing the amount they smoke...etc..
I told myself that I would only smoke x amount of cigs a day. Each day, the number got lower and lower...and finally I realized that I didn-t want to smoke at all. Another thing that helps is working out. Sounds crazy, but when you began to live healthier, you don-t seem to crave the cigs.
Don-t be nervous- keep lots of sugar free gum, or mints with you. If you slip up, dont beat yourself up- just keep trying.
Good Luck!!!
instead of being anxious , be enthusiastic .Think of the massive benefits coming your way .Enjoy it ,nothing to worry about ,only to look forward to .

Once you quit smoking, how long does it take before you dont crave cigarettes anymore? -

Everyone is different. Nicotine is one of the main factors involved in tobacco smoking addiction. Nicotine begins to leave the body after about two hours. People like you, and people like me realize that it-s not all about the nicotine. Other factors include stress levels, presence of other smokers, things that trigger a -smoke break-, etc. I have friends who smoked for years, then quit without any cravings whatsoever. It really depends on you. If you are quitting, get a support group, even if it is one person. And realize that once you have stopped smoking, you really are a non-smoker. So, start doing non-smoker things in place of the smoking. Take some deep, gentle breaths for instance. We non-smokers do that. I hope this helps.
your body produces nicotine. it stops doing that when you smoke because you get the nicotine from the cigs. After about three days of not smoking, your body will start to make its own nicotine again. That is when you may crave the most and get the most irritable.
According to the government and some former smokers, never. A nicotine addiction is for life; it never completely goes away. For that reason, nicotine is considered the most addictive substance in the world.
After about a week you don-t crave cigarettes but the hand to the mouth habit is still there you need to keep busy chew gum and keep your hand busy doing different things to you break the habit.
Smoking addiction varies from one person to another and it can be drastic. With some no problem at all. With me it took 3 years before I finally got turned off to cigarettes and the secondary smoke.
FOREVER.

Really. Nicotine is more addictive than heroin.
The craving will always be in the back of your mind. The first time I quit was for 14 years.

Are people really happy after they quit smoking or using smokeless tobacco? no depression or mood swings? -

When I first quit smoking (for the 10th time that is) it was like going through hell. I fidgeted all the time, I gained about 15 pounds, I was always snapping at people and yelling. I couldn-t sleep, I didn-t want to go out since I couldn-t smoke, I was a real challenge (to put it mildly) to live with. But I was really determined to make it this time. So I past the first 2 months in depression (I was not at all happy!) and then things got a lot easier. I drink my coffee now, I go out, I can be around smokers. I still do miss it from time to time.. like when I-m at a bar drinking with my girlfriends and I really want to light one of those little bas***ds, but I have stuck to my decision and it-s been 11 months now. I feel better, I exercise waaaaaaaay better, I breathe better, I sleep better. I recomend it to everyone! Good luck!
Emotionally, yes. Physically, no, because they will lose contact with those buddies. Depression or mood swings will become worse if no furthur assistance from the board e.g. how to get employed, how to cope with new life, etc.
yes
I stopped smoking 8 weeks ago for the second time, I miss smoking so much I think I am deressed because of it and tonight I had my first drag of another cigarette because I miss them so much I hate my life without them so I dont know what to do I am thinking about going back on them..

Going to try to quit smoking again. How many pounds did you gain after quitting smoking if done right? -

If you did gain weight, how much was it and how long after did it take to lose it? Is it still hard to keep off?
I gained about five pounds in almost a year now that I-ve quit. I-ve had the time to hit the gym hard for six months while rehabing (from something else) and not so much for the past four months because of work.
For some of us weight gain is an unfortunate side effect of quitting smoking. Even if you do gain weight it will only be a few pounds at the very most. While weight gain is unfortunate it is by no means inevitable.

You have already decided to improve your health by quitting smoking so why not make it a complete health make over.

By making some healthier eating choices and performing 30 minutes of aerobic activity(biking, jogging etc) every day you will keep those extra pounds at bay. Trust me, it is easier to prevent weight gain than it is to actually lose weight.

Keeping the weight off is easy if you decide to keep your healthy lifestyle after you have quit smoking.

Good Luck and Good Quitting

I quit smoking almost 4 years ago (December 2004!!). I did not gain significant weight because I exercised regularly (while I smoked and after). But I must admit that keeping food cravings down is harder when you don-t smoke...so stopping smoking probably cost me 5 lbs, despite the fact that I am a regular exerciser. The thing is, I-m okay with it because I was thin enough that I could afford it. I weighed 100 then, now I-m about 105. (I-m a petite woman).

I have run two marathons since quitting smoking!

Incorporate exercise into your life, and stopping smoking shouldn-t hurt you too much...
I gained at least 20 pounds. Since then, it-s been going down and up. I figure I-ll worry about it once I no longer have to deal with withdrawal -- three months out and most of it is gone, but it-s still there. One thing at a time!
i stayed the same

I have not, but my sister works in a chripractors office and they do this. She says thay have had great results. People find it easy and its very successful.
This method works for me, I quite smoking 2 years ago
and is the only money back guaranteed.

Get the Facts
Easyway, founded by Allen Carr in 1983, has the highest independently verified 12-month success rate (75.8% for a smoker completing the program) of any quit smoking technique and a 90% satisfaction rating.

Compare Easyway to other methods and see for yourself why Easyway is called “The Cadillac of quit smoking methods.”

The Allen Carr Method
HOW THE METHOD WORKS

Using psychotherapy, the method works in the opposite way to the “willpower” method. It does not concentrate on the reasons the smoker should not smoke : the money, the slavery, the health risks and the stigma. Smokers know all that already. Instead it focuses on why smokers continue to smoke in spite of the obvious disadvantages.

It is fear that keeps smokers hooked!

Fear the smoker will have to give up their pleasure or crutch. Fear the smoker will be unable to enjoy life or handle stress. Fear the smoker will have to go through an awful trauma to get free. Fear the smoker will never get completely free from the craving.

The Method removes these fears
Smokers quit with the Allen Carr Method as happy non-smokers, not feeling deprived but with a huge sense of relief and elation that they have finally achieved what they always wanted….

TO BE FREE!

What about the terrible withdrawal pangs from nicotine?

The physical withdrawal from nicotine is so slight that most smokers don’t realise that they are addicts. What smokers suffer when they try and quit using other methods is the misery and depression caused by the belief that they are being deprived of a pleasure or a crutch.

The Allen Carr Method removes this feeling of deprivation.
It removes the need and desire to smoke. Once the smoker is in the right frame of mind and they follow the simple instructions, the physical withdrawal from nicotine is hardly noticeable.

No Gimmicks!

The Method does not use any gimmicks, useless aids or substitutes. No nicotine gum, patches, lozenges, tabs, inhilators or nasal sprays! No needles! No lasers! No drugs! No herbs! No shock treatment!

The Allen Carr Method is successful because:

It removes the smokers’ conflict of will.
There are no bad withdrawal pangs.
It is instantaneous and easy.
It is equally effective for long-term heavy smokers and light smokers.
You need not gain weight.
You will not miss smoking.

Medical Endorsements

A personal view from Professor Judith Mackay MBE, JP, FRCO (Edin), FRCP (Lon), World Health Organisation Advisory Panel on Tobacco and Health

“I have no hesitation in supporting Allen Carr’s work. Many clinics use some of his techniques but it would appear that few do it in quite such a successful package.”

Carole Johnson, Coronary Heart Disease Prevention Unit, Tyne Tees

“his success rate was such that, when budgets allow, we continue to use Easyway for work with specific groups and individuals.”

Dr Anil Visa BSc, MBBch., FRCA, Consultant – Royal Hospitals NHS Trust – Royal London Hospital

“I have observed the Allen Carr method at first hand and have found it to be very successful and I wholeheartedly support it as an effective way to quit smoking.”

Dr William Green, Head of Psychiatric Dept, Matilda Hospital, Hong Kong

“It is a remarkable fact that Allen Carr, on his own admission a non-professional in behaviour modification, should have succeeded where countless psychologists and psychiatrists holding postgraduate qualifications have failed, in formulating a simple and effective way to stop smoking.”

Dr Martin Jarvis, Principle Scientist, Imperial Cancer Research
Fund and Reader in Health Psychology, University College London

”...I am more than happy to testify to Allen Carr’s enduring involvement and to recognise the value of the kind of behavioural and cognitive support he provides.”

Dr PM Bray MB CH.b., MRCGP

“I was really impressed by the method. In spite of the Allen Carr organisation’s success and fame, there were no gimmicks and the professional approach was something a GP could readily respect. I would be happy to give a medical endorsement of the method to anyone.”

Celebrity Endorsements

-His method is absolutely unique, removing the dependence on cigarettes, while you are actually smoking. I’m pleased to say it has worked for many of my friends and staff.”
Sir Richard Branson

“Some friends of mine who had stopped using Allen Carr’s method suggested I tried it. I did. It was such a revelation that instantly I was freed from my addiction. Like those friends of mine, I found it not only easy but unbelievably enjoyable to stay stopped.”
Sir Anthony Hopkins

GOOD LUCK!
no
It can be effective, but you have to be really motivated to change and not just rely on the technique to do it for you.

What Is The Most Effective Way To Quit Smoking? -

best answer gets 10 points...I really need some serious advice...I appreciate it, Thanks so much in advance : )
Smoking is more of a psychological addiction than a physical one. If you really want to quit you must discover the reasons why you smoke and then eliminate or change these thought processes. As soon as I dealt with my psychological reasons for smoking I quit, first time and more importantly for good.

Once you deal with the psychological side of smoking it makes the quitting process easy, no matter your level of addiction.

Quitting smoking does not require any patches, gums, herbs or anything like that. These methods are expensive, time consuming and simply do not work. All that is required is a bit of motivation, self belief and determination.

Good Luck and Good Quitting
Honestly you have to truly in your heart want to quit! It took me three, no four times to quit. First off you have to change your habits, when you tend to smoke more ( mine was talking on the phone, driving, drinking tea and coffee etc) I used the patch my first and last time quitting and I-ve finally quit for 31/2 yrs now. I found that pills didn-t work for me at all, bad side effects:( and that I could control the side effects of the patch by cutting it in half. When you do decide to quit and have a plan you might have to stay away from smokers for a while, too much temptation!
Oh ps: I always had an orange flavoured candy around(something about orange really helped me) they seemed to last until the urge was over!
Good Luck!
Go to your doctor, there are new prescription medications that can help. Basically how they work is they keep your brain stimulated in the same way nicotine does. So when you have a cigarette, there-s absolutely no pay off. Coupled with your desire to quit, it-ll have you off cigarettes without turning into a raging beast having nic-fits :)
i hope this works better for you.i am a lost cause. started smoking heavily at age 9. i quit for a month when i was 19, and haven-t been able to ever since i started again.cut down to a bare minimum and cut out 1 every coule of day. buy a brand you don-t like for me it was american menthols. you will find it easier if you quit drinking for a month 2, the temptation is greater when you drink. rewad yourself with the money you save. i heard that nibbling on carrots, or apples helps relieve the uurge, i smoke less when i eat these.try and get a friend to quit at the same time, you will have someone to talk to that can relate. goo luck.
Start by cutting back a little at a time. Then a week later cut back some more. This works better than cold turkey. Those who quit cold turkey are more likely to start up again because they miss it so much. They took themselves off so fast, that they drive themselves crazy. Wanting and wanting. So crazy they start up again. By cutting back, you ween off at your own pace.
There is no easiest way.. well get pregnant, I didn-t smoke when I was pregnant and quite honestly... I didn-t crave it b/c I was so sick...haha. (not really funny, but you know... ) NOW i did start back up but have been successful for about 2 months now. Give or take...
You know, it helps to have someone to talk to and is supportive...
Yes it does. Even if you don-t have somone to talk to... I mean, I-m sure they have a freakin crisis line or something... b/c it is that seriuous! lol....
But I am a *****... and I have gained 15 pounds...haha. You don-t have to gain weight...but you know, its much easier too when you don-t have the cig. I should try gum or something rather than chocolate ;)
In time it will get better I am sure. The hardest times are the times when you feel like crap and you are salivating for one of those things... you-ve just got to focus...Or have a cry...lol.
Going to have to learn to cope with things without the help of the nicotine... Not impossible but not a piece of cake so don-t expect there to be an easy magic way... or you-ll let urself down and say **** it, i-ma have a smoke... =). I think about really... how bad it is for you. Theres freakin formaldahyde in cigs... to read a cig haters page might get you to stop for a little bit... but then the cravings are still there. But you can do it.. I promise. Talk to ur doc...I mean there are patches and pills but I-ve never tried them. You are younger than me!!! *lol....
Really you have to find deep inside why you want to quit. I mean why is it?? Just b/c ppl tell you it-s bad... b/c that-s not enough to push you through.
Sorry I don-t have a solid answer...lol... but you can drop me a line anytime if you want. Take care..

You have to have the will-power and motivation.
Fight temptation and just say NO... Quitting something isn-t easy especially since it-s an addiction but having the strength in your heart should help you accomplish ANYTHING in this world. Good luck to you! You can do it!
not to be offensive but you should do some research and really look at the consequences. think about what is going to happen in the future if you dont quit. i know its hard but you just try!
stop thinking about it...or if it is very very strong...reduce gradually...then instead of smoking cigarettes smoke narguila...
Stop buying cigarettes and stop smoking..

I think I-ve tried everything known to man and I still smoke, I enjoy it too much.
just research it and see pictures
get a patch
ask your doctor to help you
