Chest Congestion? Quit Smoking Six Months Ago? -

Does this sound normal? I quit smoking six months ago and didnt have any of the coughing/chest congestion syptoms that are typical ... until the last couple of weeks.
Weird. Also my cravings seem to have returned along with the congestion.
Are delayed reactions like this normal or is something else up?
Alright. This chest congestion of yours has nothing to do with the quitting of smoking. But it does look like you have had been smoking for quite some while. The congestion may be due to Bronchitis or cold and / or Emphysema (hyper-inflation) of the lungs. You may show yourself to a doctor or take a Tylenol or two for three days. Many a time the nicotine that accumulates in your lungs is not easy to come out. It does come out with time, however. Did you know your Carbon Monoxide level in the blood attains normal levels in as less as 24 hours after quitting smoking. Of course cravings can always occur even as delayed reactions. Remember three things. People, places and things. Don-t meet people who are smokers. Do not go to places where people are prone to smoke. And don-t keep any souvenir lighters, or cigarettes, or cigarette cases or stuff of the sort. Six months is a very good period of time to go without smoking. You can live forever without cigarettes. And enjoy the best of health. I wish you well.
Cravings are probably related to stress. Your symptoms could cause you strength. Also, chest congestion is normal after quitting due the the repairs your lungs are making to themselves as well as your lungs clear out all of the mucous built up from smoking. If there is major concern to you definitely go see a doctor. To assist with your symptoms a chest decongestant in the OTC drug aisle at your local CVS or RiteAid can help.
