I-ve never been a crying woman - NEVER. Now, all I want to do is cry. Even with the patch. I feel fine, great actually, but all of the sudden something very simple upsets me and I cry. WHY?? What is wrong with me?
You-re going through withdrawal -- the patch reduces symptoms, but it doesn-t eliminate them. When I stopped, I was overcome with regrets, over the damndest thing! And it-s normal to become hyperemotional for a while.

But -- note that nicotine is a natural anti-depressant and stopping smoking can have a temporary depressing effect in some people. If you find yourself depressed, talk to your doctor about getting a prescription for an antidepressant. Wellbutrin/Zyban is a drug that has been found to be effective both in helping people stop smoking and in treating depression, and might be a good choice.
