Can i repair(regain)muscle fat or tissue if i quit smoking and drinking? -

Alright. I can actually answer this one because I am a Respiratory Therapist and I work at Pulmonary rehabilitation facility and this is our goal. Heres the honest truth. You will never be able to repair anything that is damaged when smoking. Things in th body will get better but they will never completely go back to normal. Heres exactly what would happen if you quit smoking right now.

20 minutes after quitting…
blood pressure and pulse rates drop to normal, and temperature to hands and feet return to normal.

8 hours after quitting…
carbon monoxide level in blood drops to normal and oxygen level increases.

24 hours after quitting…
the chance of heart attack decreases.

2 weeks-3 months after quitting…
circulation improves and lung function increases up to 30%.

1-9 months after quitting…
coughing, sinus congestion, fatigue and shortness of breath decrease; cilia regain normal function in the lungs, increasing the ability to handle mucus, clean the lungs and reduce infection.

1 year after quitting…
The chance of having a heart attack is cut in half.

5 years after quitting…
stroke risk is reduced to that of a nonsmoker.

10 years after quitting…
lung cancer death rate is about half that of a continuing smoker’s. Risk of cancer of the mouth, throat, esophagus, bladder, kidney. And pancreas decreases.

15 years after quitting…
coronary heart disease risk is that of a nonsmoker.

What u could do to help regain and repair that muscle is do free wights 5lbs. Exhale as you come up. Inhale through your nose as you come down. Do 20 tims every other day. Also if possible, walk a treadmill for 20 minutes or ride a stationary bike SLOWLY for 20 minutes alongside the weights every other day. Within 4 weeks you will notice an incredible difference in your body, attitude, and breathing. Hope this helps:) Tissue always reproduces on a daily basis and Fat does not go just because you are smoking.
I have heard that if you quit smoking your lungs will clean them selves in seven months but I-m not sure but it can-t hurt good luck quiting Hipnouses worked for me till I lost my wife and two children in a fire.
To much drinking is a toxin, to much smoking robs your body of clear lungs. If you quit smoking for starters, and limit your drinking to just a few on the weekends then you need to start a good workout routine. You must be patient may take a few months for you to see a huge difference it is worth it...Good luck...
Depends on how much and how long you-ve been smoking and drinking. For instance, a 40 year old who-s been doing both for 20 years isn-t likely to regain tissue in the same way because the collagen under the skin isn-t right. You certainly can regain muscle tissue however.
