I quit smoking today and Im feeling dizzy and sad. Help :( how do I minimize dizziness ? -

I-ve quit smoking cold turkey today, friday at 12:22 am. So that-s about 22 hours. I-m ok so far, but I-m feeling very dizzy and kinda upset.. I got so used to smoking day and night for years and years and now I have to do something instead. Please suggest things to calm myself and minimize this dizziness I-m feeling now. Thanks in advance :)
Associate something else with cigarettes, such as chewing gum, or drinking coffee or tea. Just anything like that can help relieve stress that cigarettes usually help you with. Hope that helps *thumbs up* Congrats btw, and keep it up :D Your body-ll thank you.
First of all, congrats! It-s a hard thing that you-ve done and you should be proud of yourself.

I quit a little over 5 weeks ago and I feel great. I read a book called The Easy Way to Stop Smoking by Allen Carr. There is no pressure and it doesn-t tell you all the bad stuff (we already know, right?) But it-s very encouraging and gives you a different perspective on becoming a non-smoker.

I didn-t have any dizziness, but I did get some headaches. It will pass. I recommend doing things that make you feel good about yourself like excercise or eating fruits and veggies (if you like them). Your body will be feeling wonderful in no time.

I also recommend picking up that book if you have a hard time in the next few days. It will reinforce your commitment to stop.
I know what your going through. Take deep breaths and drink lots of water. Lots and lots of water. Nicotine is completely out of your system in 8 days and will no longer be a strong desire. After that it is all the mental issue to deal with.
The more water you drink, the quicker the body will clean the nicotine from your cells.
Stay with it, it will pass, there are a lot of options here, take it easy and help the time pass with whatever you like doing, especially with your hands write, knit, type, etc. Take a day off if you are having a difficult time, just think this will be the best thing you have done for yourself and your family, it will soon pass and you will be free of the nicotine addiction, forever. God bless you.
Try to relax eat a carrot stick or celery that helps ... Read a book but please don-t fail
You can try a natural remedy to minimize the withdrawal sypmtoms.

For info on natural/herbal remedy for smoking withdrawal effects visit the following source.
What most people do not realize is that cigarettes are laced with sugar. (Between 8 to 18% sugar). The sugar in cigarettes is absorbed instantly from inside the mouth when you inhale. The sugar goes directly to the brain and provides a hit of pleasure. (The brain-s only food source is sugar). You are detoxing from the Nicotine but you are also certainly experiencing Hypoglycemia (low Blood Sugar). You are feeling dizzy and upset from the Nicotine detox and from Hypoglycemia. For Hypoglycemia eat frequent small meals (every 2 - 3 hours) and have PROTEIN with each meal. Drink 8 glasses of WATER to flush out the Nicotine. Your Nicotine detox will be completed in 4 to 5 days. Also you need to take a B Vitamin supplement daily, because Nicotine binds with B vitamins as it is flushed out of the body.
Sugar is usually not listed on cigarette packages because cigarettes are not a food source. Congratulations on quitting!
Congrats - you are now a non smoker! I quit myself cold turkey 3 months ago after 20 yrs - no cravings, no moodswings, nothing..... Everytime you feel any cravings just eat a raw carrot. This really works, there is something in the carrotene just under the skin that actually fights the chemicals that you were addicted to. If you eat 2 raw carrots a day for 2 weeks you will never smoke again. Let me know how you get on. It worked for me, I-ve never looked back.
It-s normal to feel dizzy, light headed or nausea. I quit again last Tuesday and was sick for about three days (It has been six days for me). It does go away and the benefits of not smoking are by far better than smoking. Hang in there. Exercise and water (lots of it helps). The cravings only last for a minute, think of something else or get the gum.
change your hair color from blonde to brown it should go away
Green tea with ginger root.
chew candy or give up
its only because your body has become addicted and dependant on those drugs, and it will take a while to get used to not having them. but you are making the right choice!!!
Quite nicotine several years ago. You will go through the physical withdrawals for the next week or so. This is followed by the psychological withdrawals for the next several months. It is usually the psychological or rituals associated with smoking that will cause you to return to smoking. These are things that you do when smoking or around smoking that you won-t be doing any more. For the physical withdrawals, tricyclcics (antihistamines-benedryl) have been known to reduce these. Suggest you discuss this with your doctor-Wellbutrin is also known to help out with this. As nicotine is a stimulant drug (same drug class as cocaine and caffeine), the withdrawal syndrome is the exact opposite of the active effect of the nicotine. Heart rate will be reduced, feel sluggish, tired, irritable, nauseous and so forth-this is probably the source of the dizziness. You might experience an increase in appetite, also as nicotine is an appetite suppressant. All of this is normal and to be expected. An herbal means of helping with this is to chew licorice root-this is also a stimulant, so be careful. Hope that this helps
You may be able to take medication to calm dizziness. If you still have problems, get some nicorette gum. It-ll take longer to quit but it might be easier
if u take B-5 and choline, it produces the same thing as the nicotene in cigarettes, acetylcholine. take 500 mg (not timed released) 4 times a day and 432 mg (one with every b-5)
ive gone cold turkey a few times myself. what your feeling is the nicotine withdrawls which last about 48-60 hours. i just found it best to just go to bed that first full day of no smoking. no need to stay up and feel wierd. next day should be much easier.
i quit last month and felt similar things... i found that deep breathing helps alot.. drink lots!!!!!! of water and exercise as much as posible because the nicotine is exiting you system and both of those things will help it get out faster. But just don-t give into having one.. whatever you are feeling it will pass and ultimately you will no longer be a slave to tobacco!!!
