Quit Smoking - Any herbal helpers? -

I have a friend that is trying to quit smoking for good...I was wondering if there were any herbs that can help.
Nope but there is vaporizers
popcorn maybe try gum.
st johns wart works I hear but it makes you hungry
No, but you could tell her to give me all her money, so she won-t be able to buy cigarettes. That should do it. :)

My mom quit with gum.
She was a smoker for 5 years, and she hasn-t touched one in about 12 years now.
To give up smoking is quite easy. I have done it a hundred times. But seriously the urge to smoking can be controlled by drinking green tea or water whenever the urge arises. Chewing gum also helps.

There are many other ways. The American Cancer Society offers a Guide to Quitting Smoking.
This is going to sound a little strange....I-m well aware....

1) Kava Kava tea - to -take the edge off- - because you are irritable as heck when you stop
2) Psyilium (the stuff in metamucil) - because wwith drawlmakes many people constipated
3) something to help you sleep - benedryl or an herbal supplement that contains valerian, or hops, or passion flower - because for some reason you get sleepy as heck during the day (see #4) and can-t sleep at night
4) green tea, or coffee - in small doses - because withdrawl makes you sleepy during the day. If this person has been using a source of caffiene all along, she will need much smaller doses - nicotine blocks caffiene uptake (and vice versa, which is why people who do both tend to do both heavily) - so a smaller dose will give her a bigger boost.

Lots of folks suggest the herb lobelia for cravings - because tobacco is a member of the lobelia family...never did a darned thing for me or most the people who I sold it to....

Good Luck - and to use the phrase of the American Lung Society - -Dont quit quitting- - the average person has to -quit- eleven times before they -quit- for good.

May you have a New Year with comfort, laughter and joy

I-ve tried just about every method there is out there and there is only one I can recommend - NLP! It eliminates the cravings.
Gum patches and all the other just did not cut it for me, not to mention cold turkey which was the hardest, I even tried the electric cig and it is just no match to the real thing.

it’s the one that got me off the cigs and smoke free for GOOD even without gaining weight! :)

Good luck kicking the habit!

There are countless herbs that can be used to confuse your subconscious to believe you are smoking tobacco. Unfortunately however, there are no herbs that have medicinal value in effectively treating nicotine withdrawal, as far as I know. Like any other withdrawal stage, the best thing you can do is use lower and lower doses of the substance over an extended period of time. In other words, start by limiting your friend to 3 cigarettes a day for a week. As every new week comes to be, reduce his/her limit to one less than the previous week. After 1 a day is reached, the next week limit to 1 a day every second day, and the system goes on.. To avoid relapse, it-s best if you or someone else that knows your friend should buy the cigarettes for your friend, as to prevent them from taking more than they are supposed to be smoking.
Marijuana is famous for its many redeeming qualities. One of them is that Marijuana can be a great tool for people who are quitting nicotine. It has no habit forming qualities and takes the edge off of the nicotine craving.
Although, it is illegal...
Not herbal medicines, but something that treats the underlying need to smoke.

100% money-back guaranteed - Think Quit. This is a 7-day preparation program to quit on day 8, with ongoing help. The man who developed the program also has Think Slim, also 100% money-back guarantee. The website is completely up front and gives you all the information you could want.

Both programs are getting rave reviews. (see website below)

I-d like to say that I completed the program, but I had a major accident that interrupted and forced me to give up. However, the lady I sold it to let me know that it worked brilliantly for her.
