Does quitting smoking cause someones breath to smell? -

A friend I recently met has quit smoking 2 months ago after smoking for 20 yrs. This is a great feat! The issue is her breath stinks? I don-t know what her breath smelled like when she smoked; however, could her quitting smoking cause the pungent odor that seems to be constantly present.
Last June I could still smell my own smoking breath even after I quit it two months ago in April. I still occasionally smell that smoking breath from myself after I quit 10+ months but it-s getting rare and rare. It-s a gradual and slow healing process after one quit his/her smoking. But it-s worth it pretty much!
It could be that she had bad breath before she smoked...or it could be that years of smoking has done some damage to her teeth and gums, which may be causing the odd smell.

Many times, bad breath is an internal problem, actually coming from the stomach rather than from just dental hygiene, like people tend to think. If this is the case in your friend, it could be that maybe her eating habits changed while she was trying to quit. Chewing gum, using mints, and brushing/flossing/rinsing regularly may only mask the odor.

Your friend should go to the dentist and see if the problem is an oral one. If not, there are actually herbal (natural) herbs that you can chew that work with your stomach acids (they can also be bought in pill form) and fight bad breath internally.
i think the smell doesnt go away
