Just wondering if replacing a cigarette with a kiss would help someone quit smoking? -

If you-re trying to get someone to quit smoking, every time he wanted to reach for a cigarette you would give him a kiss instead? or sex? would that work? just curious as to what other methods of getting someone to quit are
ew, i don-t want to kiss a smoker
i-ll have sex with them if they are good looking though
haha
I-m sure that would persuade some people
While a kiss is always nice, and sex is real nice too, neither would work. (And what are you going to do when you realize your person smokes a pack a day?) The desire for a cigarette is uncommonly strong. The desire to quit has to come from the smoker, not those who care about him or her. Nothing you do for every cigarette s/he forgoes is going to take the place of that cigarette.

What you can do is encourage and support, offering positive reinforcement, and not becoming upset when and if they backslide, fail, or quit trying. It-s that difficult.

I quit 9 years ago, and I *still* crave cigarettes.
That might help, but even better, take them to a nearby park with fresh air and trees and shade. It appears that a much smaller percent of the people who are relaxing under a tree or in the shade in the park want to smoke compared to the percent of people smoking who are walking around the hot concrete streets surrounding the park. I think this is because the park causes people to relax more. But it could be because the type of people who want to relax in a park are not likely to be smokers. Either way take that someone to the park and get them to relax. Seasons and weather also play into this, if its in the middle of a sunny summer day, spring or fall day, this probably works, but not in the rain or in a blizzard or the freezing cold.

Also, the section of Washington DC called -Georgetown- has a very low percent of smokers, when compared to other places, around the country. (Percent of smokers less than 1 percent in the people I have seen, the last time I was there.)

If you want someone to quit smoking you should find and become freinds with some people who live in Georgetown, section of DC. Those people may have a few answers that nobody else has.
That-s an interesting approach. But no, I-d say it wouldn-t, sex is brief and there isn-t anything that comes close to eliminating those withdrawal symptoms other than medication (Chantix is the best). The most important thing is to reduce stress, the best time to stop is when you-re on vacation because stress sets off the cravings.
accompany him to a meeting of a support group!!!!

it could if the person really likes kissing you because they would know that every time they felt like smoking that could get am awesome kiss instead and save their health unless you have like gingivitis or something
not always
I-ll take any of that from you to quit =)
