Tips on how to quit smoking? -

I-ve been smoking for several years and have decided to quit. I-m also writing a speech on it for one of my classes.

I-m really sick of tips from websites and from people who have never smoked. They usually don-t know what they are talking about.

I want to hear from smokers. People who have successfully quit. And people who have relapsed. What methods have worked best for you. What hasn-t. And why do you think they have or haven-t helped.

Thanks
=)

Honestly, you know that quitting is hard. Quit now, and if and when you relapse, quit again. You have infinite chances. Every day you spend not smoking will add up to years on your life. It takes time to quit, to essentially re train your brain to seek out something else instead of that cigarette. Start to replace the smokes with things that you really love, that are relaxing and stress relieving. If you lapse, and have a smoke, don-t beat yourself up. Learn form it and put it behind you. Quitting starts out as a process. I don-t know anyone who has quit once and had it work out perfectly for them. The length of time that you stay quit will grow and grow until it is years, and then you will realise that you don-t even think about smokes.
I quit smoking after more than 20 years and several attempts. The thing that worked for me was reading, -The Easy Way To Quit Smoking- by Allan Carr. I-m not sure why it worked, I was obviously ready to give up the stinky, smelly, disgusting, expensive habit. It will soon be a 1 full year!!!! Good luck with giving up your habit.
its all about what method works for you. it could take many tried.. or it could just take 1. my mom stopped after 30 years cold turkey. i-ve tried many times and faild! lol. you just have to really be ready to quit. not just wake up one morning and say :- i-m gonna quit today- try first by lowering what you smoke per day even when you buy a pack throw a couple of them away... keep track of how much money you speand ont hem and what else you could be doing with that money.

good luck!!!!!!!!
Go to youtube and watch some videos about cigarrettes and smoking.

every time you buy a packet of smokes, imagine that you are burning a 5 or 10 dollar note.
You have to want it enough otherwise nothing will help.
