Has anyone tried the new RX Chantix to quit smoking? -

My doctor suggested this medication for me as i am a heavy smoker (yes i know i should be ashamed). I have tried many times and several different ways to quit but as of yet i have not found anything that works for me, and i am motivated and ready but that nicotine just bites me in the a$$ everytime. My problem is it cost $150 for a months supply and i live on a fixed income. i just wanted to know if anyone has had any success trying this RX.

p.s Please no dirty answers, I am serious
If you-re motivated then Chantix would be good for you. I took it for almost 3 months (starting last October) and I quit smoking on day 8. Chantix did a great job on getting rid of the physical cravings. The behavioral side isn-t helped by the medicine so that-s where the motivation comes in.

There are a few side effects that appear to be rather common. Upset stomach, trouble sleeping and weird dreams seem to be the majority.

For me the upset stomach only lasted about 30 minutes after I-d take the medicine. It wasn-t pleasant but I figured it was a small price to pay. The weird dreams continued for me the entire time I took the medicine.

You-ll do great on the medicine! You might have a hard time affording it but after a couple of months just think about all of the money you-ll be saving in the future.
This stuff is a miracle drug. You only have to take it about 3 months...think of how much cigarettes will cost you down the road. You can smoke all you want the first week of starting it...then you have a quit day and they up your mg-s. A little nausea ( nothing a big glass of water doesn-t cure) and NO cravings at all. Lots of emo support if you need it...plus lots of cool statistics they-ll throw at you everyday if you want. Works way differant then any gum or patch...no withdrawal from them either. Try it...it-s well worth the money. PS my insurance covers it...check it out.
A drug to make you not crave a drug. Hmmm.
Well, doctors are glorified drug-pushers, so it-s not surprising.
Have you tried accupuncture?
I know that drugs are poisonous, so I would not consider asking a medical doctor about...anything.
I personally have not tried this product yet but my mother who smoked for 40 years has had great success with it. I also know several other people who have been very successful with it.
Just to encourage you a little more, I took it and I have been smoke free for four month! I smoked a pack (at least) a day for ten years and I had tried everything! It was expensive, and honestly cheaper to buy a pack (or two) of smokes, but honestly, now I don-t pay for either!!! Plus, I can walk a lot farther and faster and I don-t feel bad at all!

Tip: It says to eat before taking the medication....make sure you do or you will feel nauseous for a while...
Chantix is an excellent way to quit smoking with few side effects. For more Chantix information, click the following link:
