How do i quit smoking-cold turkey??? -

i-m addicted to cigarettes, and i-ve got asthma, too. i really want to quit smoking for my own health, and i-m tired of my mom always telling me i stink of cigarettes, and not being able to go a day without one. i wish i never started smoking, cause now it-s hard for me to quit. what do i do?
Sounds like you are ready to quit. There are lots of helpful products out there, take advantage of them. They really help the withdrawal and give you a better chance at success. You can do this. This site has some good info.
Good Luck !
just quit and know that you will not die if you don-t have one. if anything you-re more likely to die if you do have one. cigarettes are unhealty and lots of people die of lung cancer, heart disease, and emphysema, over a habit that they could-ve avoided. there are other healthier ways of relieving your stress. smoking is a negative, unhealty way. try exercising, reading a book, watching a movie, or simply call a friend. you life may not be all that great, but, i-m pretty sure it will be a lot worse if you develop lung cancer or emphysema.
To start quitting is a pretty good idea.

You-ll find usefull info there.

Good luck !
ask familyy to help...if your mom is telling you this stuff then im sure she would be more than happy to help you stop...JUST STOP dont buy them.....tell friends and family to not let you buy them try to avoide going by them in stores and such....if you are craving them and it is the worst thing ever think about how many other things are worse in the world...try sucking on hard candies too....
I-ve heard that quitting cold turkey is not as effective as having a good plan. Using a combination of exercise, peer support, nicotine patch, etc., a smoker has a better chance to actually quit smoking. Those to try quittint it cold turkey tend to go back to smokey.
My bf quit smoking last month after 7 years. He too went the cold turkey way and he found it extremely difficult. He did however persist with it and resisted temptation. If you really want to go down this route, prepare to go through hell once the withdrawal kicks in. He found that drinking lots of water, taking exercise and avoiding situations where he would want to smoke, helped. My advice however would be to see a Dr and work out a plan. Sometimes quick fixes aren-t the solution and a long term plan may prove more successful.

Good luck.
