Quit smoking? -

Does any one know of any free resources to quit smoking
for someone without medical insurance, would like to use the
patch or pills for this problem.
Go to the closest hospital or long term care facility. Find a Respiratory Therapist and ask if you can shadow them as they make their rounds. I-ll warn you it won-t be pretty, but you-ll get a first hand look at your future if you don-t quit. Take care and good luck.
Depending on where you live, try checking out some of the medical research institutions, like medical schools. If you go to their webpages and look under research, you may be able to find some smoking cessation studies which offer free treatment...some may also give a free supply of the patch or other nicotine replacement therapy.

I work in research trying to help people quit smoking and in our study, we offer free counseling as well as the patch for free. Studies like the one I work on are out there. Good luck!
use the gum
Drink a lot of bottled water (even if you refill it from the tap). This does two things. It detoxes your system and satisfies your oral fixation.
how about will power - i gave up november the 25th - havent had one since - no patches or pills - just the serious desire not to kill myself
you can find some of the counter stuff like gums and what not
Depends where you are.

In NYC, you just dial 311 and they-ll send you the nicotine patches.
Check with your local health dept and see what they have to offer that is free.
The local Health Clinic should be able to assist you with this.
