What can we do to help smokers quit smoking for a better environment? -

Where I live, we already have laws that forbid smokers to smokes in bars or inside and that-s a good things from our government. It-s a step forward to improve our lifestyles but is it enough?
I was a smoker for 29 years. When I smoked it didn-t matter what anyone else did, said or how many laws were passed, I wasn-t going to quit. I finally DID quit 5 years ago but I did it for me. You can provide lots of encouragement but I believe there-s really no way to help someone quit until, for whatever reason, s/he wants to do it for him/her self.
What can we do? I-ll tell you what I think we can do....I think we should make all those things that cost an arm and a leg to help smokers quit...FREE. Like the hypnosis thing. I-ve heard that works every single time..yet it costs hundred and hundreds of dollars. The smokeing gum and patches...GEEZ, have you seen the price on those things? It-s ridiculous and it-s deturs us smokers from buying cuz we can buy cigarettes cheaper. I wish I could quit after nearly 30 years of smoking. My children want so badly for me to quit and I want so badly to quit but can-t afford any of the methods to do so.
don-t ------------ leave them alone. am not a smoker my self.
they have to help them self.

I-m having a really tough time trying to quit cold turkey.
I-ve been jonesing really bad lately.
There are several therapies available to help you.I have close friends who have quit with the help of hypnosis, acupuncture, drugs and -cold turkey- or is some cases a combination of two or more...Different strokes for different folks!
I don-t think there is one BEST way.I quit cold turkey and it was honestly the worst 10 days of my life, but it was ONLY TEN DAYS.You can do it too. I urge you to find a way(s) to do it by whatever means are available. Read everything and every tip that is available and employ all that you can to help you to succeed.Think about the many that have gone before you that have suffered in the same ways you have and will, but believe me when I say, it is absolutely worth anything you have to go through or any cost you have to incur to be free.
A doctor told me that the body can be free of any -chemical - addiction in 3 days, even long time heroin use, but the psycological addiction to the drug remains until YOU can find a way conquer the mental cravings.
I did it and I know you can do it too. Best of luck in your quest.

start jogging, a cig is the last thing you will want.
I was a smoker for 20 years and now have been a non-smoker for almost 20 years. Here-s the trick to quiting - change your habits. Once you have stopped smoking for 24hrs, all of the nicotine is out of your system. When you -crave- a cigarette is more out of habit than anything else so you need to change everything you do that you associate with smoking. For instance, if you get up in the morning and have a cup of coffee and a cigarette while reading the paper or watching TV, change the habit by having your coffee while your washing dishes or dusting. Keep something in your hands to keep your hands occupied and your mind on something other than the cigarette. If you lite-up when you get in the car to drive somewhere, change that too! Turn on the car, put on your seatbelt and get going!! Don-t give yourself time to lite that smoke. I won-t lie, it is difficult for the first few months but it is well worth it! Think of all the money you will save, not to mention how healthy you will be! If you are really serious about quitting, then YOU CAN DO IT !!! And remember, always refer to yourself as -a former smoker- not someone who is -trying- to quit. If you say your only trying then you are giving yourself a reason to start again. GOOD LUCK !!! YOU CAN DO IT !!!
eat candies.... specially sweet ones or the minty ones everytime u get the urge to smoke

itll work promise!
don-t replace smoking with eating. You-ll gain a lot of weight.
Guess you have to have the mind set. There are plenty of support programs. Now nict stays in the system and by the 3rd or 4th day, your body is craving it. This is when you usually fall back into the routine of huffing and puffing. It is like any program, even weight loss. I quite 8 years ago, guess coughing up blood and two bouts of pneumonia and now chronic breathing problems in cold air reminds me of the habit. Don-t wait to stop due to a scare I had...stop before the scare comes. COPD is NOT fun to live with.
Champix in Australia and Chantix in America (they are both the same actually) are supposed to have a success rate of 40%.

How to stop eating everything after quit smoking? -

enough said. i am tired of veggies i don-t know what else to do. It has only been 18 days and the scale is increasing and my pants are decreasing
It-s called keep the refrigerator closed.
Hi Crissy-Congratulations on quitting! I quit 2 years ago after 35 years so I know how hard it is. Sugar free gum or candy will help. Also always have a bottle of water with you. Water fills you up. Light popcorn without the butter (sorry) will also fill you up. Don-t abandon the fruits and veggies entirely though! It also helps to start some type of exercise plan. Whatever you do, don-t start smoking again! Best of luck!
Throw all of the bad food out. If you have to binge, it-s better to binge on fruit, which is low fat, high in fiber, and good for you.

You can-t eat chocolate/candy/chips if you don-t buy it.

As others have said, try some exercise...walking, dancing, jogging, jump roping. At least this way you will start losing weight.

Read a book, call a friend, go on the computer...read some fanfiction.

Good luck, and good for you for quitting!
Lately ive been desperate to satiate my crazy appetite because ive been gaining weight, I have found that drinking water all the time really helps. It creates the feeling that youre full and helpful when trying to cut down portions..more water for whatever food youre not eating. might consider it a pain but the thought of me having to pee so damn badly distracts me from that need to get food
Finding a way to distract yourself , like finding a game or reading a book or exercise.
Also you can find a whole bunch of good snacks like dried and fresh fruits, nuts , etc to replace the junk food that-s tempting.

Chewing sugar free gum would work for some.

Keep up your good work and don-t give up !
every time you want to eat or smoke drink a cold glass of water and pop in some gum!
Also you should fill the void with something like working out all the time, or some physical activity.... exercising will help a ton, for one itll help your pant increase! and it will give you endorphins making you in a good mood thus making you crave smokes less!
Good Luck great to know your trying!!!!
Try sugarless gum. Also, if you feel you need to eat something, try rubbing your ears. Not so much the part you usually pierce, but the top part.
Drink lots of water :) that worked for me. Sometimes I had some gum to chew too, but i mostly replaced it with water and loads of housework.
exercising will probably help, you need to fill that time that you usually smoked
ok i had the same problem
what i did was chew sugar free gumm all the time
instead of going out for a smoke
eat as much as u can but in one time only...then stop eating for next 12-16 hrs then eat a little and go to bed....
i dont know

If you have tried to quit smoking lots of times...? -

...and you finally DID, what finally made the time you really quit different for you? Serious answers only, please! If you-re only going to tell me that smoking is stupid and it kills... duh. I know that.
Nicotine lasts in your system for 7 days. So past the 7 days it is no longer an addiction, rather a habit. If you have ever read about child development you go through fixations. One you are having is oral. If you can make it 7 days, then just take care of the oral fixation part. Chew a lot of gum, snacking (I ate a lot of baby carrots), chewing on pens as disgusting as that sounds, just take care of that, and you should be fine.
I-ve started smoking cigarettes since I was 17 years old. I usually was able to quit cold turkey within 3-4 days.. the last time I tried quitting was when I was 34, and I had a bad cold that lasted a month, at the same time. It took me that long to quit, now every since then just taking a whiff of cigarette smoke makes me sick, even looking at people smoking them makes me sick too..I don-t know why people smoke, it is bad.. just look at an ashtray full of cigarette butts and ashes, just imagine that is what your lungs would look like by the time you-re 50.. you wanna have that??
have your doctor prescribe Chantix.

Exercising lots and eating less but weight is staying the same? i did quit smoking few weeks ago? -

Could this be the reason why my weight isn-t going down its driving me mad because im working hard.
I smoked for 35 years and quit one year ago, and my weight went haywire.
Now I realize I am 52 years old and my body doesn-t work like it did 30 years ago, only I have always been active and exercised and it did me absolutely no good.
I checked with my Doctor and was told it may take up to 5 years depending on the person for their weight to stabilize after as many years of smoking as I had.
I have not tossed out my old blue jeans I wore for 10 years yet.
I did go from a 29 inch waist to a 32, so I am slowly working a diet and exercise.
Hopefully in a year I-ll be back to my -normal-.
Hope I helped you.
-Exercising lots and eating less but weight is staying the same?-

OK, so the weight stays the same. What about your size? Did you lose any inches from waist and hips?

A lot of people mistake losing weight for losing fat. If you are exercising then you may also gain some muscle weight (just weight, not size), which with the fat loss won-t change that number on the scale.

But you did lose fat in the form of inches around your body.

Give yourself another week. Take the sizes of your chest, arms, stomach, and hips. Compare by the end of the week.

I weigh about 80 Kg. I-ve been on this weight for about 6 months but lost about 5.5 inches on that weigh till now :) I maintain this weight because I like the size (It-s looks good for my height :P)

Don-t be fooled. You-re actually getting thinner :D

Hope this helps ^^
If you-re -exercising lots- and -eating less- you risk not eating enough to sustain your exercise, which could lead to lack of any kind of progress in general.
eat more vegetable
let eat meat
Dang.. give yourself some time. You made a HUGE change to your system by quiting smoking..

Nicotine is a huge stimulant.. your body needs to adjust.. now, how long.. is a big question...

Make a reasonable goal. 5 lbs a month.. 1-2 week is a good rate.

Think about what you-re eating. Try doing a calorie count. Measure out a portion.. you may be shocked at how much you-re eating but not realizing it.

Be consistant. Give yourself some time to adjust. 1-2 MONTHS is a good way to tell.. Instant anything is just that.. it doesn-t last.. love, food, etc..

Good luck to you.
The problem of your question is that you do not tell anyone how long have you been trying to lose weight?

You mentioned that you have quit smoking some weeks ago and this means absolutely nothing about weight loss suffice it to suggest that you will have nicotine cravings and that you would eat more. So, as you eat more you will gain weight unless you cancel this weight gain through a rigourous training regime. This will work if you have a decent lifestyle regime, including eating well combined with an initially low impact excercise regime then build it up. Work around a monthly calender and break up your exercise regime to a week by week programme, and then on a day by day routine, which will allow you to be disciplined. Do this like you are writing a daily dairy.

But, insofar as, learning as much about your situation I do not think that you are telling the whole truth here.

Therefore, just to emphasis the point, when people quit smoking they tend to eat more and gain weight.

Now my personal experience.

When I had quit smoking over a decade ago I had increased my training regime when I felt strong cravings for something to either eat or go ballistic on the road. It was painful my lungs was gasping for air and I literally felt the pressure on my chest and I thought that it was about to burst after only running 8 kilometres. Sweating and heart palpitations made me so sore and I could barely walk the following day.

This was 1994-95. Then I started to run everyday. Then ran and ran, walked with my ruck marches for miles and miles, then ran and ran and ran. I had conditioned myself to do this I had adopted a strict training regime for over a decade and a half and I have never touched a cigarette for ages. I had taken puff of cigarette on the occassion only in a social gathering with alcohol, of course, but, now I feel sick to the stomach even with the smell of cigarettes.

I have run four 42km marathon runs, have done a number of triathlons including a 70.3mile ironman triathlon, Olympic distance triathlons, and sprint series triathlons, here in Queensland, and around Australia.

Now, you may need to hook up with someone with very similar background, someone who knows what youre going through or have gone through in order for you to train well motivated by your like minded peer.

Good luck.

How can i help my friend to quit smoking? -

he wants to. but his will is too weak to break the habit. what do you fellas suggest i would do to help him
Tell him to go to vapersforum.com and read.... A Lot! Then go to youtube and look at video reviews. Then jump on the bandwagon and get one.
Then he can do what he wants to quit in HIS own time and time frame.
It-s NOT just a nicotine addiction.... Go.... read....learn..... vape
I have been using green smoke for a while now and i can tell u its 100% a healthier alternative than smoking! no carcinogens carbon monoxide or tar, just nicotine and u can use it to ween yourself off if u like....... but the best part is it looks and feels like u are really smoking but its just water vapour!! check out the website and read up on the benefits I-m sure u will be as impressed as i was!!! u can also use this code disc10-7097 to get 10% off the price should u decide to join us green smokers lol hope this helps

http://greensmoke.com/7097.html

Tell your friend to use reverse psychology. I used this myself when I was thirty-six years old (I was consuming a minimum of two packs a day then.)
Suggest Chantix, it-s pretty close to a miracle drug.

He-s not weak, BTW, nicotine is one of the most addictive drugs known.

I feel hungry ALL the time, how do I fight this. I quit smoking 10 months ago, and have gained 12lbs. HELP!? -

I just cannot fight this hunger. The more I try to say -I am not hungry- to myself, the hungrier I get! Its nuts! I do not want to gain anymore weight.
nicotine does manage weight well doesn-t it?

if you want to suppress your appetite you-ll need to starve yourself for a bit, as in eat every 2-3 hours and only every 2-3 hours also eat smaller meals, in a week time you-ll notice a big difference in your food consumption
When you wake up in the morning, the first thing you should do is drink a glass of water. Then eat a small healthy snack filled with protein to hold you over for a few short hours or so. In between each meal, which you should have 4-5 small ones a day, you should be constantly drinking water. Do not eat three large meals a day if you know you have to eat consistently. Instead eat 4-5 smaller ones a day - drink PLENTY of water. Also try to get into working out. Start by going for two long walks a day, then progress your way into maybe a light jog.... or take up yoga, which has plenty of breathing exercises, etc. Rid your body of that filth.

I just quit smoking a month ago. I knew about the potential weight gain beforehand, so I made sure I was prepared with this with a plan. It-s not too late to start though, so good luck.
Well you should eat a very healthy and filling breakfast and then if you ever get hungry, only eat a handful of dried fruit or cereal and then have a small, healthy, and filling lunch and then dinner. Try not to eat dessert but if you do, let it be some fruit.
Exercise every day! Go for a jog in the morning or do some push-ups. Workout at the gym. Everyday you need two hours of exercise so you can stay fit!
You should focus on eating about low glycemic food 5x a day. Also take a high quality multivitamins because your body runs on nutrients. Your body will not crave as much when it have all or most of the vitamins and minerals you need. Low glycemic food will keep you full and energized longer throughout the day so you won-t have to eat too much.

Low glycemic low in carbs, sugar, fats etcs. Anything that will not give you that crash or food coma. Low glycemic will also help you lose some weight and stop your cravings.

High glycemic foods are like fast food, junk food, oily and greasy food, white bread, etc. These type of food will make you tired and will only make you eat more.

If you have a hard time finding low glycemic food then you can take meal replacment shakes. Most of them are low glycemic and are suppose to be healthy and keep you full. I personally take Nutrimeals from Usana Health Science. They have the best meal replacement shake. It-s high in fibers, contain good proteins, essential fats, good carbs and rich in nutrients. They will keep you full and energized.

Other than that I hope this helps and good luck.
don-t eat big meals, eat less food at a time, and eat more times throughout the day, like 5 small meals, it-ll help you from bingeing or snacking on unhealthy foods, also try to get healthy foods to snack on like fruits and veggies if you do feel the urge to munch
Try drinking a large glass of water every time you get hungry. That might help a little but if it gets too intense eat foods that have a low caloric content like celery.

Not sure if that helps any, but I wish you the best o- luck
sometimes drinking really cold water can help or swallow a vitamin e tablet it takes longer for ur stomach to digest
when you feel hungry eat some fruit
I feel hungry ALL the time, how do I fight this. I quit smoking 10 months ago, and have gained 12lbs. HELP!? -

WHY SMOKING IS TOUGH TO QUIT
============== ==============
Smoking is very tough to quit because it doesn-t only test your Will power but it makes your biologically addicted. It is not just a bad habit, but it is something you are bound with and will require either an extreme will power (which if you had, you might have left smoking far ago) or something that can replace that habit.

HOW TO QUIT SMOKING PERMANENTLY ?
================== =================
The only feasible way to quit a bad habit or addiction is to replace it with another addiction (This is what rehabilitation centers do to drug addicts)
You can quit smoking by replacing cigarettes with some non harmful product which is easier to quit later due to its lack of biological addiction.
E-Cigarettes are a good option, Chewing gum is sometimes helpful but not always and is harmful if consumed in large quantity.
This website
http://cigarettereplacer.com/
Has many reviews of smoking quitters and many harmless products to help you quit smoking with detailed instructions.
If you are strong willed, decide not to smoke. Take a pledge not to smoke and follow it and follow it strictly.
Alternately, avoid smoking (without taking any pledge). Gradually bring down the number. Smoke only when offered by some one(don-t spend any money on it). Don-t offer cigarettes to others. and you will soon find others avoid offering cigarettes to you. If you take a pledge and break it, you will feel guilty. If you don-t take the pledge but make a conscious effort to reduce it and stop it, there is better chance of success.
If you find these methods difficult to practice, and if you are still determined to stop smoking, take the help of any counselling centre.
I used to smoke for about 5 years and now smoke free for 2 years. I went cold turkey and took it one day at a time from there. You have to constantly motivate yourself to quit and keep telling your self if I don-t quit now it-s just going to get harder. After the first month or so which is going to be very difficult the cravings are not as bad and continue to fight off the urges. I-m not going to lie it-s been a little over 2 years now and I still have urges sometimes but I fight it off.
Good Luck.
cumon ur a man with six senses hw can u let urself be controlled by a lifelesss worthless cigar.. motivate urself.. u shud rule urself.. think of all the possiblities to quit smoking.. and all the benefits ur gona get by quitting it..
well I am on the same boat trying to quit smoking what i do is I eat some fruit or toffee and it has been working so far.
its your will power and strong determination h.k

Just quit smoking and Im scared? -

I just woke up in the middle of night frightened. I can breathe just fine but I feel a great deal of chest congestion, not only that Im freezing. Has anyone else experienced this after quitting cold turkey? This is my like my 6th day and I never want a cigarette again
You-re experiencing withdrawal symptoms. They will eventually go away. Try some relaxation exercises using deep breathing.

Here-s one.

Close your eyes and tense all the muscles in your body and then relax them.
Inhale deeply filling lungs with air and hold it.
Slowly release the air as you exhale and keep doing it until you feel you can-t breathe out anymore.
Imagine all the stress leaving your body.
Repeat 3 or more times.

Hope this works.
I have suffered exact what you are describing. I took a very hot bath and it helped clear all of the crap out of my lungs.

With that said though, if it continues on for more than a few hours, you should consider going to a doctor and having him check you out. But more than likely your system is probably just starting to clear up.

Also sign up with
http://quitnet.com
so you can keep a running tally of money you-ve saved and days you-ve added to your life.
After 7 days, it-s all out of your system, the rest of it is pure mental.

Good luck!!
me too.it is like i dont even wan to touch the cigarette again...
arhhh... a cigarette... RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!!!!!!

What is the best way to quit smoking? -

I know this question has been asked before but my dilemma is this: My Back Porch. I know it sounds stupid so hear me out:

I do not smoke at work, in my car, in my home, not even when I-m out socially, but the first thing I want to do when I get home is go to my back porch and light up. What-s that about?

I believe I can quit with patch-assisted help, but what do I do about the beautiful porch nestled in the mountains calling my name??? I look at my deck as an extension of my home and I-ve tried to -not going- outside but it drives me nuts!

HELP - I have some freaky mind-block that I can-t snap out of.
well i am a smoker have been for about 12 years now, I really hate it because your clothes stink your car stinks, even your hair. Its a nasty habit ,But I understand where your coming from, I don-t smoke in the house but i do smoke in the car. other wise when i-m at home i-m always trying to hurry up and finish something i-m doing so I can go smoke. well i would say keep yourself away from smokers but that don-t seem to be your problem! that is kinda crazy lol, it-s a whole mind thing, you know when you get home that is your relief, your used to going to the porch when you get home and enjoying a cig. yes there are patches, pills, hypnosis, and gum, some people it may help but for me those things would be a waist of money! I got it bad(lol)!
you could do like your first answer said but I don-t know how much that wil work. if you wanted to try something over the counter it might help then when you get home use it see if it will take the edge off. otherwise try to keep yourself busy so that will not be the only thing you thank about get you some gum or candy to suck on when you get home.. I really wish I could help you more cause I know what it-s like to want to quit!! your right your case is a little crazy! lol

You have to have control!,Strength!,and the real want to!
I know it-s hard I have tried to quit to but it-s so hard I guess I just don-t have enough want to at this point!
Merry Christmas! Happy New Year!
WANT SOME CHEESE WITH THAT WHINE???STOP
SMOKING OR DIE TRYING.
pick up another habit... buy lots of gyms and mints and start chewing and sucking..
You have to change your thinking of what you are doing when you come home.example---when you come home start cleaning because if you keep yourself busy you will not thinking about smoking,
Quitting completely is rough (even slowing down). I-m on week 2 coldturkey after 25 years of cigs - you have to find something else out there that pleases you. Just avoid the porch for now - zone out in front of mindless TV, sex alone or with lover a.m.a.p.,
walks, etc.. You can -practice- using the porch by briefly stepping out and taking in some deep breaths, and go back in. Smoking/nicotine creates associations too easily - gotta break them somehow. You-re really doing great so far - keep it up!!
Think of anything else that might change your thoughts when out on the porch - be imaginative...
best way to quit smoking is just to stop cold turkey. it is hard but it works.
Cold turkey, develop a new routine when you get home.
The only people I know who were ever successful at quiting smoking were the ones who did so cold turkey. They put-em down and never picked them up again. Every other method I-ve heard of that has been tried had also eventually failed. I once dated a girl who smoked about the same amount that you do. She had trouble quitting as well until I mentioned to her that she wasn-t bringing the next cigarette to her mouth....that cigarette had the power to bring her to it. Evidently I said the right phrase cause the thought that the cigarette was the one with the power over her and not her over it kinda freaked her out. Enough to quit anyway. She went cold turkey and never smoked again. Good luck. Remember, nothing good will ever come from it.
Next time you find a cig in your mouth, eat it.
give the person your oath or do not talk to the person and give him opposite answers using something bad about smoking
my stepmom got hypnotized about a month ago and has not picked up a cig since, but she chews gum like crazy.
Try drinking coffee or tea instead whenever you are there. I am also struggling to quit smoking before i go to bed.
Well...You ra eally need to change the behavior that goes along with the smoking, unfortunately. The porch. What you could do is try doing something different while on the porch such as drink some herbal tea or eat a light snack...I have struggled with smoking for years, you sound like you are well on your way to quitting!! Good Luck!!
hmmm smokers never grow old cuz they die young.. thats an old saying and probably true.. well there are a few ways to do this one.. cut up your ciigs in half so u cut down on smoking..
2.. do a calculation of HOW much u spend each year on cigs.. that should freek u out.. unless u have too much money to burn..

3. get a radio on the porch so u have soemthign else to do..or use the phoen.. keep ur hands busy ...
First stop buying the cigarettes. If you dont have them you cant smoke them. Learn to do something else on the backporch that helps you relax when you come home. Try Drink some hot tea or coffee or anything. You could also try to learn some relaxing techniques and exercises to do while enjoying your back porch.
all you need is a strong will, and, find something else to do on your porch :)
Why not just quit buying the darned things? It-s pretty hard to smoke something you don-t have in your possession. Am I missing something? Keep your wallet in your purse and stop buying them.
I quit many years ago 1964 and I can tell you what worked for me it will not be easy so don-t think patches and pills will make it easy. You need to finally admit to yourself that you are going to quit then stop doing it every time the urge comes up you have to overcome it. It will get easier each time but it still will take a long time. In my case it was years. good luck and enjoy the view.

it will stick to your lungs. i know theres a certain kind of cleansing to do to flush away nicotine in the body.
It-s not just the nicotine in your system. The damage caused by nicotine and smoking in general can last for the rest of your life, long after you quit. Heart attack is only one of the risk factors. Lung cancer and related lung diseases are widespread killers of ex-smokers. I have lost two uncles and I-m about to lose another to lung cancer. I think all of them had quit smoking many years before they were diagnosed with cancer.

The best thing you can do is quit now. There is no good reason to smoke and millions of reasons to quit. If not for yourself, quit for those people who love you or who will love you in the future.

Ive quit smoking, worried about my lungs? -

How long will it take for my lungs to recover after i quit smoking.
Ive been smoking 3 packets of marlboro reds per week for the last 2 years and wanted to know how long will it take for my lungs to recover to the point where it was before i started smoking.
Ive no illness but im seriously concerned about my health lately.
thanks
See a doctor
Benefits
20 min. Blood pressure and pulse return to normal
8 hrs Nicotine and carbon monoxide levels in blood reduce by half. Oxygen levels return to normal.
24 hrs Carbon monoxide will be eliminated from the body. Lungs start to clear out mucous and other smoking debris.
48 hrs There is no nicotine left in the body. Ability to taste and smell is greatly improved.
72 hrs Breathing becomes easier. Bronchial tubes begin to relax and energy levels increase.
2-12 weeks Circulation improves
3 - 9 months Coughs, wheezing and breathing problems improve as lung functions are increased by up to 10%
5 yrs. Risk of heart attack falls to about half that of a smoker
10 yrs. Risk of lung cancer falls to about half that of a smoker. Risk of heart attack falls to the same as someone who has never smoked.
I wouldnt say you were a heavy smoker and had been for many years, yes there will be some damage but giving up now after only two years at it I think it shouldnt take too long before it becomes ok.

Well done for giving it up, there are many out there that have been smoking for 20+ years and cant give it up. Go see the gp if you are worried, he will tell you what you need to know- I dont know how long it does actually take for it to work its way out of your system but you have given yourself an extra 10 years life back

Well done
The damage done to your lungs is quite minimal at the level you smoked. You-ll notice an immediate improvemnet, the cough wil go away and the bronchial irritation wil heal itself within a few weeks, Some people will give you time tables that are based on nonsensical data.
This is the best thing you could have done for yourself. Please do not get caught in the trap of -just one, how could it hurt after all this time?-. That-s what happened to me. So i had to do it all over again.
You may or may not have done permanent damage to your lungs but after a time your lungs compensate and you-ll be just fine.
Then you can rejoin society. Don-t know if that-s a goal I-d want but some ppl. think it-s good.
God bless.
The damage is NOT permenant and don-t listen to the negitive comments.

I quit 2 months ago and I am starting to feel way better. I went for a 7 mile cycle yesterday, I could barely do 2 miles while smoking. U will breathe easier within a week and will have almost full recovery within 3 months. At 21 your body will fully recover back to per smoking levels.

Just don-t smoke and u will feel major benifits quickly and if you need some support quitting visit www.whyquit.org. There are cool videos and articles that will help.

Good luck

My mother started taking the -Wellbutrin- pill. It-s also called Bupropion or Zyban.........She has been a smoker for years, and once she took these pills for 3-4 weeks, and then no more pills, she stopped cold turkey..............

Anyway it-s used to help people stop smoking by reducing withdrawal effects.

Good Luck!
It may sound silly but I would think the most efficient strategy to help someone quit smoking is a caring family or a loving girlfriend/boyfriend/husband/wife. Love does things to people and can change them dramatically. =)
Just toss em. You-ll only be crazy for about ten days but it is worth it. Cheaper too.
good luck
Hope
Just do it. Do not try to make it easy, that is just a weak willed approach. Be here now. Each moment is it-s own.Don-t be a junkie.
there is none you have to want to quit for anything to work
The shortest and least stressful way is with some powerful help.
This will give you fast and effective ways to put in a new non-smoking program or habit into your brain. The physical addiction to nicotine is gone in 2-3 days, so the rest is habitual, and psychological. There-s lots of tips, info and free help at

Nicotine patches work, but they make you have amazingly vivid dreams. That could be good or bad. Also, if they keep something around to help with the oral fixation like sunflower seeds or gum.
getting someone to slap it out of your mouth every attempt you make to light it!
when you are diagnosed with lung cancer or a bad heart, or lung disease.
ask God to give you the strength....I did...I smoked a pack - a 1/2 a day....I was totally addicted...he took the urge away from me....I didnt smoke again....that was 25 years ago.
make them visit the lung cancer wards, regularly
The smokers patch works well. Also for 2 weeks before your set quitting date keep a diary marking down each time you had a cigarette, the time and whether you craved the smoke or not. You will notice a pattern of smokes you craved and habit or just boredom smokes. One week before your quitting date cut out your boredom and habit smokes. The last 3 days of this period mark a stripe half way down your smoke and only smoke to the mark. By the time your quit day arrives you will already have cut down drastically. Drinking lots of water helps to flush the nicotine out of your system as well. Hope this helps. Good luck.
The dirty little secret is that no program has more than a 25% success rate after six months.

Generally speaking, the best strategy simply involves talking about it. Some form of behavioral therapy or group therapy is beneficial to cessation.

It is strongly suggested that psychological treatment accompany any medical treatment (e.g. nicotine replacement).
first the person ha to want to stop.........once that is realized then the best way is to get the the patch, the gum , or even go to a smokers meeting with the person to show support
I smoked for a long time and I quit, haven-t smoked one for about 2 years now. I think that cutting back is the best approach to ween yourself off cigarettes, that-s how I did it. Just start cutting back until you get to one a day then you really wont need it anymore and you will be able to quit for good
The Mormon missionaries have a program that is based on replacing the urges of cigeraets with grapefruit juice. I won-t spoil the suprise of why it-s grapefruit juice. If you call them and tell them you don-t want to hear about their religion but just stop smoking, they will still be glad to help you. You can get the number off of www.lds.org. Good luck

Trying to quit smoking weed, getting extremely restless, what can i do to help the restlessness? -

its only been a day and im already getting real restless i dont know how im gunna be in a week, trying to get answers while i can, thanks.
Do something that will keep you busy.
stay away from people that might tempt you

and your making a good choice. you-ll be very proud that you decided to quit.
PUFF PUFF PASSS!!!! haha just kidding dude... yo seriously, I was a hella chronic dude. It all depends on how much you smoke. I was smoking everyday roughly 1 joint... I know, i know, maybe isn-t that much... but, yeah, trying to get off that was crazy. I don-t see what the big deal is with not smoking weed? It-s not as bad as smoking cigs or drinking.

Anyways, so, what I did, I slowly gave myself time to get off it. Trying to stop cold turkey is going to be tough. Limit yourself to a J every 3rd day or something then from there every 4th day and so on.

You could always goto the gym and start working out or some ****.

The only reason why I started to cut back was because my girl doesn-t smoke. I use to have it around me all the time! smoking pipes bongs vaps, you name it, she got me off of it.

I still smoke but not as hard as I was before. My head is alot clearer and i can actually carry on a conversation. Like right now, I can-t seem to shut the **** up! hahahah

OK, but, i hope this helps dude. Challenge yourself.
I smoke weed, and yeah...quitting isnt on my mind anytime soon. But if you are -restless- this means you could get pain pills...they put you right to sleep. Oxy Contin, Tabs, more oxy contin n then some darvasettes then some Lil Wayne Codene Liquid purple drink called Syzzurp...or Syrup, do it up, you wont puss.
Exercise.
Chew gum.
Drink lots of water.
Try to get out and do something.
here you can find how to stop smoking easy
id say end your night with a nice hot bubble bath... think about the positive advantages and gains from quitting, also the boost in self esteem for quitting, a habit is formed in 30 days...
haha to the answer above me... I do not think you should use a drug way worse then weed to quit weed

Quit Smoking? -

I-m finally ready to quit smoking. I-ve been a smoker since I was 14 year old. I-m now in my early 30-s. I-m so disappointed in myself for smoking. My children tell me every day to stop. (both my husband and I are smokers...we only smoke outside)
Has anyone sucessfully quit? My quit day is May 1, 2008.
I have NEVER given it an honest effort to try to quit. There-s this really nieve/stupid part of my mind that says -if 50% of smokers die...I-ll be part of the other 50% that survives. Why can-t I get it through my head that this sh*t is going to kill me AND I just hate myself for setting such a poor example for my children.
I wish I could actually see inside my body and understand exactly what I-m doing to myself. I was thinking of volunteering in the cancer ward at our local hospital. But again...my mind will think...-that-ll never happen to me-
WHY am I so ignorant when it comes to this?
I-m a bright person, self employed, do quite well for myself....HELP!!
I smoked for 25 years and quit. It wasn-t as hard as I thought it was going to be. For me, the patch and gum were helpful. I used the patch until I had a skin reaction to the adhesive (this happens to me fairly often), which was about 3 weeks, then I switched to the gum.

I had tried quitting in my 20s and it was too hard for me. In the ensuing 20 years, as I lived through many things, I found that quitting smoking was a challenge, but nothing compared to some stuff I had endured.

I always reminded myself when I got the urge while quitting that whether or not I smoked the cigarette I wanted right then, the urge would not be fulfilled. If I smoked it, I-d want another in an hour. If I didn-t smoke it, I-d want another. So why give in, if it wouldn-t fulfill me?

The other very helpful thing I did, was to say to myself when I wanted a cigarette, -I want a cigarette, but I CHOOSE not to smoke one.- This does 2 important things psychologically: 1) it acknowledges the desire. Suppressing a desire often only makes it come back stronger. Acknowledging it disempowers it. 2) It empowered ME instead. It said that I was stronger than the desire to smoke ... that I always, every minute, every day, had the power not to smoke.

Best of luck to you. It-s never too late, and it-s a brave task to undertake.
There is a prescription drug which finally worked for me. It is called Chantix. My insurance wouldn-t cover it and I paid $100 a month. I think that it was the biggest help for me.
I had to go in for a tonsillectamy(not sure how to spell that but its when they take your tonsils out) So because of that i had to refrain from smoking for 2 -3 weeks. I did and god was it hard at times when I got stressed out and eventually i didnt need it at all. Its been a month now and i tried smoking a cigarette again and god did it taste disgusting and i could actually feel it hurting my lungs. I didnt get it so i had another after throwing the half finished first away and still hated it. I just realised today that i didnt need it and im so happy and i feel happier and healthier already. Im glad i quit young but i dont think i could have quit without that 4 weeks of not having any.
You should try to get a prescription for Chantix. It will make you feel a little nauseous the first week of taking it, but it gradually makes you smoke less and eventually make you not want to smoke at all. My stepdad had been smoking since he was 14 years old too, and he is now 42 and has been quit for 2 years due to taking Chantix. Hope this helps. Good luck!!
one of my relatives has been a smoker since 16 and she quit this past year, and she looks so much better, and she said she just FEELS better. and i think that if you feel that way, that you set a bad example. then you would be setting an example by quiting.

i hope that helped your decision.
I-ve tried Champix. you need a prescription for it. I-ve actually found an easier way to quit smoking but i-ll get to that in a sec.

Champix, I think it was available before this year but i think it was only until Jan 1st this year that the Australian Government decided to subsidise it.

It is designed to be a nicotine receptor for the brain. Make your brain feel like it-s getting nicotine, hence remove the cravings. As a former smoker myself and having tried the champix drug, i-d just like to say, that the drug is not very effective. Reason being is that there is nothing that helps you address the psycological aspect of quitting smoking.

I-ve tried calling the quit smoking hotline for support but i-m afraid that they aren-t much help. Well they weren-t for me. I was still struggling after 3 weeks, i was getting stressed at everyone, stressed at work, had poor concentration and was getting depressed. What many non smokers dont understand is that smoking had become a social part of my life. It-s kinda like taking away a day off.. Sunday from your normal life.

Try this new product called the electronic cigarette. It’s a new non burning device with no tobacco or any other harmful chemicals. It does contain nicotine and it emits -smoke- in the form of vapour. I don’t think they are readily available in Australia yet, but in Europe it looks like it’s a big hit. I bought mine online and I must say, it actually feels and looks like a cigarette, but it isn’t. I paid $50 for mine but after that I only have to change the cartridges at $2 each. So im still saving a lot of money. Much cheaper than those patches and gums on the market, not to mention much more effective.

It-s a nicotine delivery device that imitates the same sensations as a real cigarette but without the risks. I think this helped me stay off tobacco for now. I find the hardest part is not just quitting the nicotine, but quitting the habit.

Its now nearly 3 months on the electronic cigarette and im down to low strength cartridges. They even got nil nicotine cartridges.

I hope i this information helps you all trying to quit as it sure has helped me. Quitting smoking

I quit smoking today because i need to run a mile and a half in 3 weeks for police exam help? -

i have to take this exam in 3 weeks and need to run a mile and a half in 15 minutes. any strategies? i tried to quit earlier on and relapsed. i thought i had longer and just got my test dates.
Running a mile and a half in 15 minutes will not be too hard. Just start by walking that far and each day going a tad faster. Going that fast only requires a 10 minute mile pace, which is a slow jog, so as i said just begin walking, and then speed up. Then start jogging for 10 seconds walking for 10 and do that for your 1.5 miles. Then work your way up to jogging your 1.5 miles until you get there. Don-t worry, running 1.5 miles in 15 minuets is not hard so just try. Hope I helped!
if you really want this job, you will quit. Try chewing gum. From now on, do anything to stay away from places that sell cigarettes. I don-t know how hard it is, since i-ve only just tried smoking a few times, never got into the habit, but i am sure it is hard. but if you want it bad, you can do it. also, you need to start jogging once daily, start with half a mile jog followed by a walk, then another half a mile, then a walk, then try to beat your best jog yet and do more, and as the weeks get closer, you will see that a mile and a half is not much for fifteen minutes. Anyways, good luck. i-ve taken that exam and i know it can be nerve wrecking.
Nobody so far has spoken of your heart rate or blood pressure. I suggest before any training to take a stress test (they make you run on a thread mill and tell you just how much you can exercise before your blood pressure goes to a dangerous level, also check your oxygen intake, any abnormalities in your pulse pattern etc.) Smoking is a risk factor for high blood pressure, and having just quit you better stay on the safe side.

After getting the test done, i suggest to either get a heart rate monitor so that you can keep it at check while you jog. Or if too expensive, use an elliptical machine so you can time it and also so you can avoid sore joints on the day of your test.

I just yesterday ran a bit over 1.5 miles in 15 minutes.. I started doing bicycle, then elliptical that was 2 months ago. However i do have high blood pressure and am 100 pounds overweight. Your main risk factor would be the smoking I assume and thus why I strongly suggest the stress test, as high blood pressure, or quickly rising high blood pressure does not give you any signs and you can just fall on your back with a stroke.
Really is really easy I know people who have smoked for 20 years and ran a mile in 6 minutes. I believe it is very mental will butt just for that sake of running drink lots of fluids before just so you dont die
What my husband did was to run longer than 1 1/2 miles every day until the test, and run it on an uphill or harder surface than just flat, so that the run for you POST test will seem easier, and you will be able to go faster. Good luck with your test!
How fast do you have to complete the run? I suggest starting by just jogging a mile and half at a pace you can complete it (doesn-t have to be fast) just to give yourself an idea of your running abilities. Time your run, and if you are totally shot after the first run then wait a day or two until you recover, and each time you run try to step it up a notch until you feel comfortable with your time. Don-t over exert yourself by running hard everyday, take a break in between sessions, and don-t forget to stretch and warm up before every run and stretch and cool down after every run.

Has anyone out there had success with hypnosis to quit smoking? -

Of course I wish I never picked that first cigarrette up, but I want to quit and have heard great things about hypnosis. Have any of you quit that way? The pills and patch didn-t help me at all. Thanks.
took 2 times but worked
I was able to quit for a year, I decided to start again because of my lifestyle... construction work and cold beer on Fridays... ebing single without kids also factored into my decision.... OK... What worked for me and this sounds strange, but you need to get a trusted female friend (or vice versa) to promise to kick you full stride in the crotch if you pick up or even look funny at a cigarette. After about the first month, I started to feel a lot better and stuck with my own will power to keep smoke free. I felt that I was ready to quit, but not entirely ready to, which is why I started again, I made a concious decision to.
It didn-t work for me. Nor did acupuncture, the patch, nicorette, or those shots you get in the nose which are -guaranteed to work- (yeah, right). I-m going to try the American Cancer Society support groups next.
I tried hypnosis. Had a cigarette a day or two later. I-m up to about 25 cigarettes a day now. The patches broke me out in hives. There is a procedure (sorry but I have forgotten the name) that they give you a shot in the ear. I understand that this has a good success ratio. Good luck...
My dad did and it totally worked for him. He was on over a pack a day. I remember as a kid he would have one in his mouth and then when it was nearly finished he would take another out of his pack and light it off the one he had in his mouth. Bad chainer. Anyway when he was hypnotised at first he would just light them for his girlfriend and then he just completely stopped after a week. He chain smoked for at least 10 year and now his given up for at least 15 years I think.
I know another lady who was hypnotised but it didn-t work as well. Her hypnotist told her that if she smoked it would taste so disgusting. She said she got to the point she was so desperate to have one she was bawling her eyes out. Her brother told her to have one -cos- it was all in her head. So anyway she did and it was fine. She kept smoking. She died of emphysema two years ago.
So whichever way you quit just QUIT!!! Goodluck
Yeah, I know what you mean. I-m still sucking on the filthy damned things, and the patches don-t work for me either. They should come in industrial strength!
No personal experience with hypnotherapy (though I-ve considered doing it myself) but both my physiotherapist and his receptionist have done it. The physio left his cigarettes on the front step before his session and hasn-t had a smoke in nearly five years. The receptionist had one session and was OK for 10 months, but -fell off the waggon- when she was having drinks at a Christmas party! The hypnotherapist they saw has a -warranty- deal and she got a second session as part of the initial charge and she too has been off the things since then, too. Then again, they weren-t in the 40-60 per day range as I am but one day I-ll get the balls to do a session or three and see what happens!

Give it a shot, what, other than emphysema and that hacking cough do you have to lose?! Good luck with it!
it is not work for me....

I quit smoking 2 weeks ago. When will the crankiness go away??? ? -

My friends told me they can see a big difference in me since I quit smoking. I have little patience, and I am cranky all the time. Will this ever go away? I hate being edgy and I-ll start smoking again if it means keeping my friends.
Not to discourage you because it-s a good thing that your trying to quit but, hahaha, it is not a fast transition you just have to take it one minute at a time some people can do it and never look back but a lot of us find ourselves with a pattern of having a cig at specific times while we are doing certain things, mine for instance is while I-m driving to work because I work 60 miles away from home so it-s at those times that I most crave one. It takes tons of will power and the best of luck to you with it.
Probably a month or so.

But i will advise you to slowly reduce.
-eg, 2 sticks aday to 1 stick a week or so-

As smoking is really tough to quit,
thus you must have some perservances in there.
yeah itèll go away with time.. give it a few more weeks until your forget abut smoking then it will be gone. pick up a new hoby or something. or carry a stress ball with you when you feel your being impatient
It-s just a mental thing, but look what you saved yourself from:

Is it time to quit smoking weed? -

I have been smoking since late 17, done everything in the middle, Im 25 now. I feel like I should quit but at the same time Im not sure exactly what the benefits would be of quitting. Maybe answers from ex stoners would help this question.
I too smoked it every day for a long time, like more than a year. I thought is was great, calmed me down, was able to play with kids for hours. I really didnt see anything wrong with it. Finally, to make a long story short, I started really overthinking when I would smoke and get paranoid that I had cancer or something was really wrong with me or someone in my family could die, etc. I quit, started having terrible terrible anxiety and panic attacks. Went to a doctor, put me on meds (the whole time I smoked I did not take anything) then suggested therapy. First visit I told therapist, she said that is where all the anxiety and panic attacks were coming from. Pot relaxed me and made things not matter so much, I would definately see someone if and when you quit, maybe just for lorazepam or something so you dont freak out!!! Good idea to stop though!
I don-t see what benefit u have in keeping it. Money to spend, moments out of your reason self, less productivity, less safety etc. If your body says enough, so it is.
Ok, anytime is a good time to quit. That stuff is absolutely no good for you and you can only benefit from quitting. I have watched too many people in my family die from smoking and yeah, its hard for them, but when your body finally tires out from all the chemical abuse, your family will be the ones to have to stand there and watch you pretty much die. So yes, quit and save yourself now. Doing stuff like that is nothing but a burden in your pocket and a major hurt to your body. You only get one body to live in, so take care of it!!!
the first benefit would be mental . smoking pot can , especially as you get older, can cause increased paranoia, anxiety, and problems with short term memory. physically it can aggravate your lungs and breathing. once u quit u will realize that you can live your life fully without getting stoned. the last benefit would b e financially, you would save a lot of money. good luck to you.

How long before an outpatient surgery is performed should one quit smoking? -

I have heard estimates from three weeks to three days. What have you been told?

And, please, no smug advice about how one should stop altogether; we already *know* that.
Funny question. I am out the door in about 15 min to go to the hospital for back surgery. I am a smoker, but I plan to quit during my stay there. But, to answer your question, it-s only 24 hours prior to your surgery. That-s what the admissions nurse told me and that is what is on my pre-surgical instructions. And I am going to be under general anesthesia (totally out), for at least an hour.
Also, you cant have any alchohol for 24 hrs. And you cant eat or drink after midnight the night before. (I-m pretty hungry)
In 3month before surgery
I was told 24 hours for my last surgery!

Why when I try to quit smoking every regrettable thing Ive ever done become magnified times a million? -

Why when I try to quit smoking every regrettable thing Ive ever done become magnified times a million? -

It all comes back to me all at once like ghosts from the past.

Even the seemingly insignificant things become so heavy.
Maybe for the same reason it happens to me? I quit over two months ago, but I keep harping over every misstep I-ve ever made.

How-s this for a hypothesis? Nicotine is known to put the body into fight or flight. The stress hormones that are released induce boldness. I-m guessing that: On a neurological level, that boldness arises in part from suppression of the cautionary memories that normally restrain our behavior. When we stop using nicotine, that suppression no longer occurs, and the negative events have a higher potential. Furthermore, we experience the opposite effect until the brain reregulates the appropriate receptors and reestablishes homeostasis. The harping on missteps is therefore a withdrawal symptom closely akin to the heightened anxiety and sense of urgency that also accompany cessation of nicotine use.
dont smoke cigarettes.

why dont you try and smoke some weed?

calm your self, relax, and enjoy.

Although this is possibly based on obtaining a better health condition for those who smoke, [and not being from India, I have no percentage of the numbers who smoke], I would remind everyone that many cancers are not caused by smoking.
It is a very good thought, but what other environmental conditions are present in India, which are also contributing to many cancers?
Air pollution, water pollution, asbestos, and other hazardous materials, products used and handled without the use of protective equipment, even tainted food products.
There are also questions about what percentage of cancer in your country is truly caused, directly, by smoking.
My husband died of Mesothelioma, a cancer caused by direct exposure to asbestos. He was a non-smoker.
It is scientifically proven that urban area citizens who breath the air and are non-smokers, in many large cities around the world, breath in a large percentage of toxic substances....just by breathing.
The point being, just quitting smoking may help, and certainly doesn-t hurt, but more should be done about other pollution which also causes a larger percentage of cancers.

Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to help me quit smoking? -

Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to help me quit smoking? -

I have a hard time discipling myself and I-m exposed to smoking at work and my hubby also smokes.... HELP
It is going to be almost impossible for you to quit if you are subjected to a husband that smokes and you work with people that smoke. What kind of job do you have that you can smoke?!

First of all I hope he does not smoke in the house. You need to clear your house of the smoke. That means BIG cleaning. You need to clean from top to bottom. Scrub everything, including furniture. I even replaced my window coverings. Wash all blankets, etc. AFTER I quit I pulled out some sheets from the bottom of the pile and I could smell cigarette smoke on them.....
It is an emormous job but you have to do it.

Then you need to meet me......I am on oxygen 24/7. I can no longer work. I am on total disability. I am on loads of daily pills and inhalers. Without them I would die. I can no longer do anything in my life that I enjoy. I can-t even pull weeds out of my garden. I am only 60 years old. I have to do daily breathing exercises to breathe even tho I am on oxygen. It is a major, major ordeal to take a shower. Think of the movements you go thru when you shower. That is almost impossible for a person with emphysema. It takes an hour to prepare for it.

I am sure this is falling on deaf ears, so to speak. But in years to come, think of me and what I told you. My life isn-t too good right now and every day becomes more and more difficult. And all of it caused by the fact that I enjoyed smoking so much and didn-t want to quit. I try to look at the bright side of smoking now. I could have lung cancer, which would be worse than what I do have.
Go see your family doctor and tell him you want to quit smoking and he will probably put you on a stop smoking program and give you a prescription for Wellbutrin or Chantix or something else to take short term until you totally quit.
N S, I did the same thing and I can feel your frustration. I was prescribed Wellbutrin even though I-m quite a happy person, and it actually made me depressed. Couldn-t take it anymore. Here-s what finally helped both me and my husband quit. Maybe it can help you too.

First, go to your doctor and ask for a prescription for the Nicotrol inhalers. Even if you don-t smoke menthol, ask for it. We found it worked better than the regular. Also, buy some nicorette gum or lozenges for use when you would rather not use the inhaler. You-re not ready to try to quit just yet. This is step one.

In a notepad, make a list of reasons why you should continue to smoke. List everything good about smoking. Next to that, make a list of reasons why you-d like to quit. You-ll find that list getting very long.
Then visit forums and websites for people who are trying to quit or have quit. Get tips and encouragement from them. Write down everything that you think might help. Do this for anywhere from one week to a month. Don-t attempt to quit during this time. All you-re doing is building up the motivation to quit.

Once you-ve got everything ready, and you-re feeling the motivation, it-s just a matter of choosing a date. The Nicotrol inhalers will help you with the hand-to-mouth part of the habit and will also greatly reduce the nicotine withdrawal. Some people strongly believe that you should not use (nicotine replacement therapy) NRT, but I say if it works, do it. And it worked for me and my husband. I-m smoke-free since June -06, after more than 25 years of 2+ packs per day.

The biggest thing is motivation. Do whatever it takes to get you motivated. Good luck.
To stop smoking

The most important thing is that you have the will to quit

Ask Dr for an anti anxiety drug That what they call nic fits

I used ativan a lot more effective than anti depressants Zyban and Welluburtain and a heck of a lot cheaper
you make a decision,i will not smoke
that is enough to stop smoke
my Dr gave me a scrip that-s called chamfix (chanfix) statedv cant read her writing but she said it was new and worked haven-t got it filled yet maybe your doctor will know about this new drug
Don-t pick up one
you should-ve never started because the addictive poison in there is niccotine.there are 200 known poisons in cigarette smoke.the patches and pills don-t help.i suggest you go to therapy or the doctor.
I started smoking for a very stupid reason. when i was in college some guy was smoking next to me. Stupid me thought i would try one and that would be that. Boy was i wrong. i came home for Christmas and my dad warned me that i would get addicted. I just did not listen. I have smoked on and off for the past 9 years. My doc gave me a new drug called chantix. you keep smoking while you take the first pack of of the drug (i think its 10 days) and than you stop smoking, but keep taking the pills until you are ready to stop. My advice for those who smoke or are thinking about it. DONT even have one cig.. once you do you are hooked and for those who already do smoke. STOP. i know its easier said than done, but you will feel better, you will smell better and most of all..you will live lot longer.
get a new job,a divorce and don-t light up
