Are there any medications to help you quit smoking? Which one works best? -

Ask your doctor about Chantix. It helped my uncle quit, after numerous unsuccessful attempts with other medications. He quit after smoking for like 30 years!
i really don-t think there is a medication to help you quit I-ve tried the gum the patch and hypnotism nothing worked so far for me
Whatever medicine you use to help, you definitely need willpower. You can do it if you really want to do it. Make sure you do or you-ll just set yourself up for failure.
It depends on your country. Here in the UK we have 6 forms of Nictoine Replacement Therapy (Microtab, Lozenge, Gum, Patches, Inhalator and Nasal Spray) along with 2 medications that act on the Nicotine Receptors in the brain (helping the brain to not -want- the Nicotine anymore) - Zyban (Buproprion) and Champix (Verenicline). Champix is giving the most successful quit rates here - and DO NOT LISTEN TO THE PRESS STORIES ABOUT IT!!! The press need to sell stories and the best way is by scaring/scandalising people. People with underlying psychiatric illness should be carefully monitored when quitting as withdrawal can exacerbate the illness and perhaps lead to sucidal ideation if they are that way inclined, just like stress can! - That-s all you need to remember. Zyban has more contraindications and cautions than Champix. NRT can be very effective if used properly (in combination if necessary). The Nasal Spray gives the most similar -hit- to the cigarette, if the user can tolerate the initial first uses as it can be rather aversive until the user is tolerant - just as a cigarette is when first starting to smoke! Only go for standardised therapies as you-re more likely to succeed and get support from a professional - treatment + support means you-re 10x more likely to suceed.
Ask your doctor about Effexor trust me it works!
go to your doctor and they-ll tell you the options.
There are no known harmless but effective medications for it.So far, nicotine in the form of patches, chew ables or inhalers etc is the most effective as also logical aid available.Essentially,we have to condition the body gradually for lower and lower requirement of nicotine and finally free it from any dependence on it.This scientific practice also ensures the least chances of relapse as the craving is minimized at all stages and it-s finally extinguished. You may also look at Yahoo.com to join quit smoking group as they give valuable tips and information about smoking. Finally,I want to remind you that there are thousands of reasons, triggers ,compulsions and what not for smoking but only ONE to quit and that is, -YOU WANT TO DO IT and CAN DO IT-.All the best.
chantex it works
Zyban helped my husband but then switched to Wellbuturin.
Stop buying cigarettes and don-t hang out in smoky places. It sounds too simple, but that-s what worked for me and a few friends. You have to actually stop the car, wait in line, buy the cigarettes and a lighter all while mentally kicking your own a**. That-s too much work to screw up something I-ve been working on in my opinion
Champix in Australia and Chantix in the US (both the same) are supposed to have a success rate of 40%.
