If you have HIV, should you quit smoking? -

Obviously smoking is bad for you. My boyfriend smokes and was diagnosed with HIV 4 years ago (still doesn-t need meds). I-m wondering if quitting smoking will greatly impact his life in regard to the development of AIDS, and in assisting death.

I-m not asking if smoking will kill him. That will obviously, eventually. I-m asking if quitting smoke is a good idea in respect to HIV and the development of AIDS, or if it will really make much of a difference.
only one way to find out...
Yes its a good idea id he does quit cus here is the thing...people don-t die from aids technicaly speaking they die from all the illneses they get cus their immune system is low so they can-t fight of the illness so if he is smoking he needs to quit asap it will not help him at all! He will get lung cancer much faster than a person without Hiv.
Yes. When you have HIV your immune system is compromised. If you smoke then your lungs are deteriorating. Your weak immune system can-t fight off the toxins in the cigarettes and you-ll just get lung cancer faster.
I would assume so
