How can I get him to quit smoking?!? -
He-s been smoking since 5th grade and he-s now almost 21. He says if I quit il end up killing ppl. LOL he-s a stressed out person.
Ask him to try a nicotine replacement. Tell him that if he wants you can give him the big lecture on what he-s doing to his body. But he already knows about that stuff. Tell him it is time for him to quit, he is killing himself, and he needs to take this seriously.
There is a special kind of gum that lets him start noticing that smoking is disgusting (changes his taste buds for smoking only) do not let him know that the gum does that, trust me it will help contact me if you need to know where to buy the gum, if hes been smoking since 5th grade i am 65% sure that he can die at age 68, or younger maybe in the 40-s minimum, please contact me this is a serious problem i have many ways to make him quit smoking and if you think this is not a big problem it is, it can also effect his wife if his married or when he gets married or his kids (if he has any or if hes getting any) * ESPECIALLY BABIES* please i would like to help, i would like his email if he has one, i can him and i can change his whole life around, if anyone in your family needs help let them contact me. I am 89% sure that they will quit. :)
honestly, it-s pretty hard to get a guy to quit smoking for the sole reason of quitting for his girlfriend. he-s been smoking for over 10 years so that-s a pretty heavy thing. if he does quit he won-t really kill people obviously, but he will be so unbelievably irritable. it-s soooo hard to quit for long-term users, he-ll need the hardcore stuff. some of my friends have tried the patch and it really helped them. i heard the gum stops the craving a bit but not completely. he has to really want to quit to be able to do it really.
I just quit smoking 01/06/09, been 7 weeks without any nicotine....i smoked from when i was 14 till now when i was 25, thats over 10 years, tell him to get the commit lozenge,i used it the first week i was off cigs and then i didn-t need them anymore...sugar free gun really helps too for the small cravings he-ll get when quitting, just keep him active and busy so he doesn-t have time to smoke or even think about it, after the first month it-s all down hill....good luck
Bupropion (Wellbutrin) helps a lot, and it-s available as a generic now. It-s an antidepressant, it-s not right for everybody. But if he-s ok to take it, he would have a much easier time quitting.
That is, if he wants to quit. If he doesn-t want to, you-re not going to make him.
Hounding him will just make him more determined NOT to quit. In fact he may just dump you for a girl who does smoke. Try subtle things like not kissing him back after he smokes a cigarette, asking him to change his clothes because they stink, stuff like that.
smoking is what cool kids do
stop kissing him on the mouth!
