What is the best way to quit smoking? -

simply you have to throw everything away in the toilet.
not so simple, cold turkey is hard and you probably should use something like a nicotin patch, though it is true that if you have cigarretes around the house it-s just another temptation to smoke. If you have the need to put something to your mouth - eat pretzels :D

Prayer and belief in Higher Powers (God or whatever you want to call Him / Her / It). Pray for deliverance from the addiction.
try the patches....or my aunt chewed on ice everytime she needed a cig....and now she quit smoking. GOOD LUCK!
I used the prescription drug called ZYBAN - and my partner and I went to conselling for about 6 weeks - we gave up over 5 years ago.
You have to want to give up - it wasn-t easy we were both very heavy smokers - but it was worth it in the long run.
Good luck to you
everyone i know says the patch works best, the patch and working out
The first step is to make sure a person really wants to quit smoking. It is hard to quit something you like and is even harder if that something you like is an addictive substance. Anyways, the person in question must really want to quit or it won-t happen.

The next step is to get educated as to what is available. There are organizations that can help you with this. Get as much info as you can. There is no knowledge that isn-t power. Things to consider is success rate, availability of product, price and side effects if any.

third step is to come up with a battle plan that fit your needs. Some people can do it cold turkey. Most can-t. You may choose to a combination of methods. The idea is to do what you think will work for you. You know yourself better than anybody else. Be realistic.

4th is to understand you triggers and avoid them. If you know you smoke when you see your friends smoke then maybe you should hang out less with those friends or avoid that situation. Another trigger can be routines, or after watching a certain t.v. show. FInd what your triggers are and see how you can change them or at least learn to recognise it.

5th finally understand that you will fail many times. Is ok, you are human. JUst keep at it and over time you will succeed.
try jogging it worked for me or try chewing gum
Throw out all you cigarettes. Best is to flush them down a toilet. Then of course, give your lighter and all your money to your wife/husband and let him/her keep it, and remind him/her that you-re trying to quit smoking so she won-t give you any until you quit.
You have to want to quit and know that it will be the hardest thing you will ever do. join a support group and remind yourself everyday why you want to quit. Educate yourself on the damage of cigarettes and remember that each day that you don-t smoke you are healing and become more healthy. Plus it is great to regain your smell and not have your clothes and hair smell like an ashtray. Good Luck. Exercise is also very helpful.
cold turkey is the only way to quit for good. weining yourself with medication or patches only makes the withdrawal symptoms last longer. those who have quit successfully with the patch end up still addicted to nicotine and often chew nicotine gum, continue using the patch, or substitute with another tobacco product.

cold turkey is the most traumatic to your lifestyle, but your body is clear of nicotine in 3-5 days. thats how i did it, and i am 4 years without nicotine, and have absolutely no desire for anything similar anymore.
