How can i quit smoking weed wasted 20 pound a day for past ten years HELP? -

First you gotta realise that cold turkey is the only way which is difficult but the best way if you are SERIOUS about quitting weed.

The next is that marijuana addiction is a psychological addiction not a physical one ... you cannot become dependant on weed like you can on cigarettes.

This means you gotta find a way of thinking that will help you overcome the cravings and realise you are better off without it.

This article might help you get started:
--

5 Steps To Quit Smoking Pot – The Beginning

To quit smoking marijuana you need a plan of action, a way forward and a reason and motivation stronger than your cravings to get through it. Many people who try to quit however do so in a haphazard way thinking that it will either be easy and having no plan except to stop or perhaps they know it is going to be hard and their plan of action is hampered by fear and a lack of understanding of the driving forces of their addiction. Steps to quit smoking pot at the very beginning are a vital thing to lay the groundwork for a successful break from smoking marijuana but do need to be modified for circumstance. Here are 5 steps you can take immediately to get you started!

1. Remove Temptation to Smoke Marijuana
There is a certain amount of intellectual dishonesty that many addicts entertain when they resolve to quit smoking weed that is a major indicator of not really committing and allowing a relapse and that is often to do with not removing the temptation to smoke completely. If you really want to quit do not leave anything to do with smoking pot around the house for instance. Get rid of all your stash, all your bongs and smoking paraphernalia as well as lighters or any ’stoner’ culture stuff like posters and so on. Purge it from your life to remove longing and triggers for cravings. If you let it become EASY to take it back up again you are actually leaving the door to relapse wide open often out of fear of change and fear you cannot handle life without it.

Well you cant stop unless you are really motivated, and by the look of your question you have been smoking a lot for a long time, so you will find it hard. there is no 2 ways about it, you will have 2 try really HARD and not give in to temptation. firts of all try cutting down gradually and as bad as that sounds already you should steer clear of any bad influences. try to get into more activities to take your mind off it. Its gonna be hard but in the end you will see that its all worth it. And if you still find it hard try going into rehab.
You are your own psychology patient so the trick is to reward yourself.
For example, if you go 2 days without smoking weed, reward yourself by smoking some weed.
Cutting down on your habits until you find something to do to keep you from smoking at all.
And for the record no one can smoke 20lbs a day by themselves.
you cant stop right away try taking 10 pounds worth a day for a few weeks, come off it gradually thats what i did, start with having single skinners too

pounds as in uk ££££-s
by cutting down, dont go cold turkey at once!
find something to take ur mind off it

Best why to quit smoking? and should I? -

Ok i-am 20 turning 21 i smoke camel light 99-s i smoke about a pack a day and i want to quit but i started because A. it-s a appetite suppressant i mean i-am a size 8 i don-t need to get any bigger and B. someone told me it kills calories now if i do quit whats the best why cold turkey, patches or gum? and will quitting make me gain weight if i quit?
Congrats!! First step is to want to quit (and thats the only way- no one can make you). It is HARD to quit... but everyone is different and it takes different things to work for different people. I quit smoking after 1almost 15 years with the patch. It did take me 3 tries at it- but i havent smoked in 7 years. Like they say- your success rate increases each time you try. The first time i thought -ive gone a month without one- i can have just one-... NO- doesnt work... you CANT have just one- you will go back to it. Second time i learned to not go out to bars and be around all the smokers for a few weeks when i was vulnerable. Third time worked- i didnt go out for a bit- and i didnt have -just one-.
As you know smoking is both a mental and physiacal thing- so the patch lets you deal with the emotional side of it (routines like lighting up when you get in car, or after you eat...etc) while its dealing with the physical. You get the nicotine at a slow pace- and actually- i was more relaxed on the patch than without it! lol It really helped me hanging up a calendar on my wall- and i would cross out each day i didnt smoke- shows you progress- and helps to know you are headed the right direction. There are tons of sites to help you quit and give you advice. Main thing i wanted to tell you... it CAN be done- and good for you for doing it!! :) Good luck... you can do it!!! By the way- yes you will probably gain some weight for a bit... who cares- you will live a lot longer- smell better- and twice the people now will find you attractive!!!
It dosn-t matter, we are all going to be dead soon.
I went cold turkey, but it-s not easy. First you have to get rid of all the reminders of smoking, like ash trays, lighters and of course the cigarettes. As for gaining weight, chew gum. When you quit there is a need to chew. So keep plenty of gum around. That will keep you from eating everything in sight. Also find something to do with your hands. If you knit, or crochet, that is a good way to keep your hands busy. Good luck! And yes, you should quit. :)
I-d say cold turkey...but I-m not a smoker. And appertly its better to risk dying then gain a few pounds.
Thanks for taking the initiative to quit. You can try cold turkey but if that doesn-t work, try the patch. My son quit smoking recently and did it with the patch. If you replace the smoking with routine exercise and proper diet, you won-t gain weight.
My son was in the hospital this weekend (he-s ok) and the doctor suggested a new medication for my husband to quit with. It starts with a Chantax. The doctor can give you more information. This stuff is supposed to be great!
Cold turkey is the only way to go. Quitting wont make you gain weight but you will have to watch what you eat so you dont.

I quit smoking 3 months ago and my appetite has grown. What can I do to suppress it? -

Drink lots of water. Esp, 1 glass before a meal.
well just by nutritionist foods to not gain wight its better to eat right thean to eat bad or thatn to smoke
congrats on u quitting smoking
When you find out, please tell ME! LOLOL
my husband is in the same situation. try standing up and stretching for 5min, keep mini tootsie roll pops on hand for something for your mouth and keep gum on hand. he also stays away from the smoking area. when it is really bad, he exercises or walks. also, try brushing your teeth for 2 min. good luck
chewing gum,and sugar free sweets, sugar free lollipops.I have a smoothie maker.Put a mango, strawberries, banana and anything else that takes your fancy in it.very nutritious, and wow is it filling.have one of them and you are ready to lie down and sleep.good for your hair skin etc and lots fun.can do alcoholic ones too(in moderation)once a week.
Same thing happened to me. Drink a LOT of water, all day, every day. It also helps with the compulsiveness of smoking (substitutiuon)
drink one glass of water , mixed with a teaspoon of salt
don-t suppress
I don-t believe smoking was ever a way to lose weight, so your craving for food is not connected to quitting smoking. This said what you need to focus on is satisfying yourself in ways that are not harmful. Try chewing gum or licorish sticks. Years ago people would chew wax. once you begin to apply such methods you will find that they will arise less often until you won-t need anything.
go on a daily exwercise program. Yoga would be helpful, too.

Any alternative medicine that can help u quit smoking? -

I was just wondering is there any alternative medicine that can help u quit smoking
HOMEOPATHY FOR QUITTING SMOKING :-

To reduce the craving; while discontinuing its use Tabacum 30, 4 hourly

Though addicted to tobacco; but cannot bear the odour of it Lobelia Ind Q 4 hourly, 5 -10 drops

Great desire to smoke; tobacco heart; oppression of breathing as in asthma Caladium S 30, 4 hourly

To produce disgust for tobacco for habitual tobacco chewers Plantago 30, 4 hourly

Take Care and God Bless you !
accupuncture is pretty good. Good luck with the quit!!
nicorette, nicoderm are both good...
lobelia extract it-s an herbal remedy, it will actually give the nicotine receptors in you body a plant based fullfilment.

i would also take something all natural for stress like rhodiola rosea or 5HTP, you can get all these products at any health food stores
its not -alternative- but my dad is taking this pill that he keeps smoking normally and it decreases his need/want for it and it is working! he was at 3 packs aday now he is down to one (he has been smoking for 30+ years) and it has only been a week! All my aunts and uncles who smoke are taking it with success it is called chantix. good luck
A method called EFT may help. Do a google search for it.

Other ideas include acupuncture and homeopathy.

I also found a list of reference articles regarding smoking and remedies

http://www.healthandwellnesscentral.com/…

The Master Cleanser will help you stop. Smoking addition comes from the residual effects of it left in the cells. When you stop giving the cells those toxins it wants them for some odd reason so doing a cleanse will help the craving in fact it will taste so bad you wont want to do it any more.

-Hi JimmyNate-,

Congratulations 1st off!

One day at a time is the motto for AA groups - we all know this addiction.
Chew gum, sun flower seeds, tootsie pops, exercise, drink plenty of cold water ( with either lemon or limes added to it), veggies, fruit,
chew on a straw (no calories that way), hard candies, avoid anything you associated with smoking (coffee, booze, meals - funerals were the hardest for me), find places that are smoke free, join a group for support - sometimes encouragement-American Cancer Society has list of cessations places you can go too. It-s you need to find something to do with your hands-try knitting, painting etc. My physcian told me trying to quit smoking is like withdrawing from herion. I used the patch 1st, then Wellbutrin, then Zyban - finally the Nasal spray Nictrol. I made 2 years then lost 2 family members - a good friend. I-ll tell you this 1 puff leads to 1 cigarette, then a pack, then a carton. And yes I smoke but not 3 packs a day any more, have tried 3 times - will continue to try, I 1st quit in 2004. Good luck - I hope you make it a life time. Have a good day. :0)
Hi -JimmyNate-,

Thanks for the rating - good luck it-s really harder than anything I-ve every done. Have a good day. :0)

chew gum.
eat sunflower seeds.
snack on little things everytime you feel like a cig -3
i quit smoking over 30 years ago, but I allow myself, if I feel like it, to smoke the third Tuesday evening of each month (I have a group of friends that meets then). I haven-t smoked more than a dozen times or so in all those years, in fact not at all in about six or seven years, but if I ever do feel like it I can, for that one evening. This way I never have to quit for more than a month at a time, which is light years easier than quitting for my whole life, and easier to climb back on the wagon afterwards too.
exercise, eat well, chew gum, and suck on hard candies
start chewing gum that might help..every time you get a craving for a smoke get a stick of gum instead..
huuurrrraaaayyyy to you. if you ever want to smoke again, make sure to smoke a brand that you really hate!! NOT your favorit brand!! and if you fail to stay clean, try again and again and again
best of luck
Congratulations! One Day At a Time works for AA and for anyone who is trying to deal with addictions, and smoking is one of the most addictive. There are lots of free stop smoking (smoking cessation) groups available. Contact your local American Cancer Society, or your local hospital or health clinic for local information. Some states even offer free help (patches, information, support groups) for those who are quitting. Exercise, even just walking, is a great benefit when changing lifestyles, with TONS of benefits. Have lots of fresh, prepared vegatables READY and available. Find something to do with your hands. Have water available that-s cole (in your -fridge) to keep hydrated. Find a buddy for a support system. Keep track of your succes on a calendar. And if a day (24 hours) is too long, make a brick wall drawing, and color-in a brick for each hour (or minute!) you have been smoke-free. You-ll have a visual that shows just how much progress you-ve made. Create a healthy reward system for yourself, like a massage, or a new pair of walking shoes for each week you-re smoke free. Remember, the way to -eat and elephant- is -one bite at a time-! Hang in there. If you -slip-, get right back -on- your focus. Every moment is another opportunity to make a -good- choice! Some people benefit from saying affirmations; remember to -say- it as if it-s already completed...ie. I AM smoke-free and live a healthy lifestyle. Good luck

For people who quit smoking? -

i don-t need to hear the -smoking is bad lecture- I know it is therefore i want to quit, i have tried twice and after the 4 day i got nauseated and dizzy, basically feeling like shyt, is this normal? if it is when does it get better? what happened to you when you quit? any tips on making it through this easier?
hi Jessica..

okay the positive thing is that you got time.. no lectures.. that-s way cool.. the withdrawal symptoms, at times can be pretty sever, and they aren-t pretty, but the good news is, that if you don-t smoke, you only have to detox once..

actually sounds like your pretty much on schedule..a lot of folks sleep a lot, some have insomnia.. its sort of unpredictable good luck..many folks use the patch, and other methods works for many.. the e-cig don-t know i have heard the hype, but never known anybody who-s used one..

actually in terms of tips, i wanted to let you know how i quit..rather than trying to go through that detox alone, i joined a support group.. i attend nicotine anonymous meetings both locally and on line... on line voice meetings are as close as your computer.. and you are welcome while still planning a quit, or already quit!!

Nicotine Anonymous is a Non-Profit 12 Step Fellowship of men and women helping each other live nicotine-free lives. Nicotine Anonymous welcomes all those seeking freedom from nicotine addiction, including those using cessation programs and nicotine withdrawal aids. The primary purpose of Nicotine Anonymous is to help all those who would like to cease using tobacco and nicotine products in any form. The Fellowship offers group support and recovery using the 12 Steps as adapted from Alcoholics Anonymous to achieve abstinence from nicotine.
Ive smoked since i was 16 and recently quit. I quit because I got sick. Tomorrow I have to go and get an ultrasound done on my throat and neck. I-ve been sick for over a month (two days before my 21st birthday) Im feeling -doomed- and think about death alot just b/c im so afraid of whats wrong with me. Ive been to 4 different doctors they all 4 said different things but cant agree on anything so tomorrow if they still cant find the problem I have to be put to sleep and they have to run a scope down my throat. I-m 21 it could be something simple or it could be something serious, im too young for something -serious- me and my boyfriend are wanting to start a family next year and get married.

Next time you want to smoke, think about me, and think about how you-d feel if you were in my place and your throat was all fud up. your probably fairly young, do you want to die because of cancer? next time you feel like lighting one up, get online and look up pictures of mouth cancer, throat cancer, lung cancer, tongue cancer.
Because I was pregnant with my daughter, I could not smoke. I was told the patch its te best way to get your fix, and to quit. I was down to a cig a day for a week. Then I would just take a put when ever my husband went out to smoke, then I would just take a puff here and there, and I finally quit. I couldn-t have done it with out the patch. Ever.
Hang in there, it gets better I-ve quit smoking a few different times and it always gets kinda rough right around where you are for me. By the way, i quit for the last time tonight. I may need some support my self. Best of luck to you

How does quitting smoking effect your heart? -

How does quitting smoking effect your heart? -

I-ve recently (about a month) quit smoking, and my PA suggested I see a heart specialist because my numbers didn-t look right, so I did, and he says she must have got a bad reading, so do you think quitting smoking may have had an effect on the reading?
Your answer doesn-t give details about what kind of tests you had done, but I can tell you that one of the biggest risks of smoking is atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries). Atherosclerosis, in turn, causes a plethora of health problems in almost all body systems (ie. diabetes, heart attack, renal failure, stroke, etc etc!)

As I said before, I don-t know what type of tests your doctors performed, so I-ll bet that atherosclerosis is one of your problems, but I can-t give much more speculation than that.

Congratulations on quitting smoking, as this will dramatically improve your health (the longer you go without smoking, the greater your benefits will be).
Depending on how old you are, how long you have been smoking, and how much you smoked, will depend on how much of a long-term effect smoking has had on your Cardiovascular system.

Smoking decreases the oxygen levels in your blood, narrows your blood vessels, makes your blood more sticky and fatty, and damages the vessel walls. All of these things lead to increased work load for the heart, and predispose you to heart attack and stroke (and other infarcts)

It is a GREAT thing that you have stopped smoking. I can not stress that enough. You and the entire world should be proud of you, and i wish you the best of luck in your (hopefully longer now) non-smoking life.
However, it takes a while for your body to reverse the damage that smoking has done. Not knowing your detailed history, i can not say what exactly the reason for your abnormal reading is, but quitting smoking definately did more good than harm.

Quitting is the absolute best thing you could have done for your heart and your body.
It depends on how long you have been smoking. If you have smoked for years ,yes , I do believe that it could be deadly to your health.

Okay, have quit smoking for just over a month but today I-ve had two cigarettes! And I feel really guilty about it.

How do I quit properly? tips? has anyone tried to quit smoking and succeeded?
based on the first bunch of answers... you were better off in lgbt...

*gives you huggy*
My mom quit smoking. She did it by setting a date to quit. She would smoke cigarettes like usual. After she was done with a cigarette, she threw the butt into an empty coffee can filled with water. By time the set date came, the can was filled with butts. And from that date on, whenever she craved a cigarrette, she would open the can... That smelled terible, and smelled it. After a while, she had remembered cigs as a terrable smell.
It is perfectly alright to smoke. The government is out to brainwash you that smoking is bad. In fact everyone dies anyway and a large percentage believe it or not die of horrific accidents, disease, etc. You may quit smoking then the next day get shot in the head by a mugger. Smoking relieves stress and provides as a relief for social anxiety. The government never tried to get rid of smoking until recently because finanical reasons and something that has to do with taxes that you can google. Think about it logically the government makes tons of profits and make a cut of the ciggarete sales. Why would they try to get rid of it all of a sudden?

Ciggaretes are perfectly normal. Puff away.
Just don-t smoke.

Smoking is not physically addictive after two days time, its mentally addictive. If it was physically addictive everyone would have the exact same symptoms of addiction such as all cocaine and meth addicts have the EXACT same predictable symptoms at the same time. Smoking gives everyone different symptoms of -withdrawal- and is thus only mentally addictive. This is why hypnotism works so well, far better than any kind of patch or gum. Look into it, seriously.

Patches and nicotine gum are good marketing but are ridiculous. Regular gum works just the same and costs a whole lot less.

Just stop smoking, find a new way to de-stress and find something new to do with your mouth.

Thanks for the thumbs down. Read up on this,
http://www.thestopsmokingguide.com/chapt…
-In fact, the physical addiction to nicotine can be broken in a matter of days.- After a week at most, there is NO PHYSICAL ADDICTION. Its all in your HEAD. Sorry. Science doesn-t lie.

And my mom quit smoking and drinking, both cold turkey when I was 7. Just stopped because she knew it wasn-t good for her or me. It can be done, you just need to have some will power. =)
well ive learn over the past few years that its impossible to become addicted if you dont like it so think for your self the cigarette doesnt light itself and throws it in your mouth to smoke the only addiction is the good response that you get from smoking so if you really want to quit you would man up and just give it up its not worth being one of the millions of related deaths so to smoking good luck i wush the best to you and your soon to be past
I used to smoke and I quit. If you are serious about not going back to smoking do not hang out where smokers are. Another thing is do not buy any cigarettes. It may take a year to finally be free from the addiction but let me tell you that once your body gets used to not smoking you will not be able to smoke any more.
you should really really want to quit. put the word -I want to quit smoking- in your heart. when you see a cigarettes, please remember the words you said. but, please don-t stop suddenly. for example, you had 5 cigarettes each day. when you want to quit, please don-t stop suddenly. ( from 5 cigarettes to 0 cigarette) it will hurt you.
Give your best friend like 20-100 $ (depending on how bad u want to quit) make Ur best friend stay with u the whole week or month, every time they catch you with a cigarette, they take away 1-5 $ (depending on how bad u want to quit) and they get to go shopping with that money in front of you. also use a nicotine patch/gum. I-m so sorry you are going through this, i lost my grandmother and aunt to lung cancer after they smoked only a year, 20 years later they were both diagnosed. i did this with my friend, and i was rich the first times, then he stopped.
I starting smoking when I was 15. No one knew how unhealthy it was. Now, we know it is the cause of high blood pressure (which could kill you), lung and throat cancer (which could kill you), it-s really expensive AND the tobacco companies know we are -hooked- to the nicatine. I smoked until I was 45 yrs old...a lot of years. My mother died from smoking...I was with her...it was ugly, hurtful and scary. I never smoked again. Now, it stinks. Buy some sugarless hard candy. Every time you need a smoke, take a candy. You can do it!!
u went over a month, its the same thing, get rid of all ofem, tell ur freinds ur quiting and to not to offer u any. i have a freind who tred to quit and succeeded. he hasnt smoked in like 3 years. i quit pretty quick, only took me a couple weeks, but everynow and the i forget and have one, liek if a freind offers it or i find some. but i never relapsed into addiction
Yeah! You quit for over a month! Okay, so you had 2 cigarettes but that-s okay, Don-t let feeling guilty make a good excuse to smoke any more. Quit again! Now! Stop! Throw the cigarettes and lighter away. Take a shower to get rid of the smell. Chew some gum. Drink some water. Call a friend. You can do it!
well dont keep cigarettes anywhere in the house or car or work.....dont drive by places they sell cigarettes....i dont see why the nicotine patch doesnt work........
just remember every time you have a cigarette that takes away a good day from your life and months of pain and suffering by you and your family. and its killing your wallet.
~c.~
My way of quitting smoking was to make a safe zone. A place where I could not smoke at all. Mine was my car. If I was craving a cig then I would go drive around and that helped. Here is a website for some tips.
http://www.helpguide.org/mental/quit_smo…

Continue still. Take each day and never surrender. I quit a over year when I had a home bible study and eventually I got baptized.

I have never looked back. A month is good time. Okay your tripped but do you stay on the floor or pick yourself up?

Quit since 15th June 2005. Smoked a pack a day for 21 years. I just did it cold turkey.
If you notice yourself doing things that get you the urge to smoke change that routine. Also I don-t no what this really is but in the mall I saw something called an electric cigarette. See if you can find it and maybe check it out.
I don-t know how this will work for you but me personally I just stopped cold turkey. I even kept my self away from cigarettes and developed a hobby to keep my mind off of them. Been tobacco free for 4 years!
Willpower. Find a reason to quit. I quit for my girlfriend at the time, she needed to see a strong stable figure in her life and I became just that.
you should get nicotine gum and patch and see a doctor about it and he-ll probably give you way better tips then i did.

Everyone deserves a little luck!
go to rehab lol

no seriously, buy sum nicotine patches or sumfing dey COULD help if u stick 2 it or buy dem ciggarette chewing gums dat helps u stop smoking =/
Go to a Doctor. Or Go to Ramdev (Joga Guru)

visit www.fulljajpur.com
Nikkorate Nikorate you can beat the cigarete
Focus on dong other things that u like. like sport
Resent the government so much, that you will not pay new cig tax of Obamas. Your money will pay for rich kids and illegal aliens kids health care. I-m gonna fire up a fatty instead, it-s cheaper, and there is no tax on that.
My dad quit smoking by putting flavored tooth picks in his mouth every time he felt the urge to get a cigarette.
You could jack off everytime you want to smoke or do the old fashion rubber band hit on your arm when you want to
Don-t let the guilt get the best of you. Start again tomorrow. You have already proven that you CAN quit.

*Please don-t listen to -Just Me-, if she-s a nurse, then I am a rocket scientist.
See your doctor. There are a couple of good smoking cessation medicines that can get you to quit.
start working out or running, than you actually have a reason to quit,
Nicoderm patch
Try munching on some sunflower seeds It worked for my husband and some of his co-workers.
it takes 21 days to break a bad habit so if you trade it for something else like chewing gum than maybe that will help
switch from cigarettes to pot.

tasty and not addictive. :]

What can happen to me if i start smoking around 11-13 and quit at 21? -

i started at about 11-13 years old im only 13 now but im getting already addicted if i quit smoking at 21 whats the worst that can happen and im the f**** retart i have asthma and am over weight
Studies have shown that kids who start smoking at age 11 are addicted by the time they are 14. Please don-t wait until you are 21 as it will be that much harder to quit. I have friends who smoked and said that quitting smoking was harder than drug addiction.
Here are some more things to think about that smoking causes:
Bad Breath
Yellow teeth
Smelly clothes and hair
It destroys the absorption of vitamin C in your body, therefore making you susceptable to more coughs and colds
Trouble with keeping up with friends in sports
Serious trouble with asthma
Expense of cigarettes
Trouble with pregnancy
It-s aging to the skin
It could turn off a hot guy/girl because it-s just yuck!
every cig that you smoke takes 3-5 mins off your life just so you know
Do you know how difficult it is to quit?
REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY HARD.
You won-t be able too unless you have a lot of will power or support.
Smoking will only make your asthma worse, make you more overweight, make you feel like crap, get all wrinkly, and the smell is disgusting.
People will not want to be around you.
1 whiff of cigarette smoke and I gag.
give up now,not worth it.
I started at 12 and i-m now 42 ,quit the cigs last year, but now addicted to cigars.
Do you really want something to control you, kissing girls that will hate your smell, getting old faster, and looking and smelling disgusting.
Try to get more information regarding some ways to stop smoking at my profile.
Sounds like you want to quit.... so quit
You gave good reason why you should quit! (asthma and you feel like you need to cough)
I used to smoke and thought I wouldn-t be able to stop but I just quit one day! It-s easy so quit now!!!
You will feel much much better inside and out!
Its really really bad to start smoking at your age. I think the younger you start the harder it is to quit. I sort of had the same idea as you about quitting when I was older and I started around the same age. I just finally quit now at 26 and it was SO SO hard, and I have a few friends from middle/high school who-ve been smoking for 10-12 yrs and just don-t seem like they will ever quit and will probably die from it like 20-30 years earlier than they should.

Also since you are only 13, your lungs are still forming. They will NOT grow correctly if you continue to smoke, so your lungs will turn out smaller/less functional than they should be when you are an adult. That effect is even worse for girls than for boys if you smoke as a teenager because of the rate at which girls lungs grow. Plus you say you have asthma? That makes smoking an even worse idea, you really don-t want permanently messed up lungs along with asthma. The smoke will also definitely make your asthma worse by irritating your lungs and that can be dangerous even in short term. It is also not quite so common but it is definitely possible to get lung cancer from smoking for 8-10 years. The smoke does more damage to the tissue of young peoples lungs than to older peoples lungs for some reason. If you get lung cancer, the survival rates are very low.

In terms of what is wrong with you now I couldn-t say exactly- it sounds like you have maybe bronchitis or lung irritation from the smoking. That happens, lots of smokers get chronic cough/ bronchitis from the irritation and damage from smoke -tar. Plus it makes stuff like regular colds lots worse and harder to get rid of. I know I-m giving you a really long answer but I was in exactly the same situation at your age and wish I had quit right away when I was 13. Once you-re addicted, nicotine is one of the hardest things to quit- it really is technically as addictive as heroin or cocaine.
you won-t be able to just quit anytime you like. you-ll get addicted and, chances are, you-ll stay addicted for the rest of your life. i suggest you quit asap.
its bad to start. when you first do it...it hurts kinda because you like start to cough a lot and then after you do it like, the second one, then u dont really cough as much as the first, if you breath in too long, you will cough-it hurts like hell
You will waste a lot of money and then risk a habit that is very hard to quit.
Okay, I-m sure you already know the risks of smoking so I-m not going to talk about all that. So if you do stop at 21 you still would have smoke for around 10 years or a bit less so you will have done a lot of damage to your lungs, heart you know your whole body. But if you do truly quit and then never smoke again your body will heal it self not completely but a fair amount and your chances of dying from smoking will decrease, and your health will improve. You still will have a better chance of getting health problems than someone who has never smoked though. How do you know you will quit though smoking is very hard to stop! My advice is of course quit smoking.
Good Luck.

And the reason why your lungs feel weird is because you smoke and all the stuff in cigarettes like tar get in your lungs and you cough because your body wants to get rid of it.
If you-re going to quit when you-re 21, start quitting now. Inhaling crap into your lungs is the stupidest thing you have done in your young life.
QUIT NOW!
If you-re developing addiction now, it will only get worse.
Don-t plan on being able to quit at 21. Unless you have a lot of will power and think you can manage it, why not stop now?
What can happen to me if i start smoking around 11-13 and quit at 21? -

It didn-t taste as good as I remember. I was kind of nasty. I read all these stories about people that quit and start again and they just jump back on the horse. I am really happy I didn-t enjoy it. My question is has anyone quit and then tried it again and didn-t like it?
I quit before and the first one I smoked..kinda choked me up..Which was unusual..so I tried another one..and that one was a little better and the next thing ya know..I was back smoking again...and that is what is gonna happen to you! Why did you even pick one up after 10 days smoke free? So...what brand are you smoking now?
not me, love em... well i hate them but htey are so damned good. but my boss ahd a baby and quit for that, had one after the baby came and hasnt had one since
well good luck i hope you make it
yes i really didn-t enjoy it i quit for nearly 3 weeks and then tried it again it was horrible i only smoke now if i am having a social drink with friends but it still tastes horrible i-ll never take it up full time again as i don-t like the after taste and it is very rare these days that i smoke at all
i dont know but please for your own sake dont do it again, trust me.

dont try to dissect it.
oh yeah! i quit cold turkey, and now can-t even be around smokers, the smell in itself grosses me out now.

good for you!

Cold turkey. Chew gum, eat sweets, whatever. But don-t touch another cig again.

And if you-re in England, stay away from pubs.
HI,,,, first...make up your mind that you want to quit!!!!!! that is most important..

Then,,,, i suggest getting some patches.. they work well,, and go for it..... exercise helps also......

Good Luck..........
Chop your fingers off, or stitch up your lips!!
do other things that will get your attention....from smoking.....or read some articles about smoking cigarettes.....this will help you to know the disadvantages of cigarettes to your health.....then Im sure you will be afraid .....then TARAN! you stop smoking
read alan carr s easy way to stop smoking its brilliant
have your mouth sewn up.
smoking is injurious to health already u know that so if u keep an special affection to any one person like this if u keep affection u wont like to live that person i think u can understand that if u smoke u can think that ur living from the special person because smoke leads to unhealth so please avoid smoking...... its ur friend request... ok see u have a healthy life.....
will power is the first step the rest i havent got a clue when you know plz tell me.
sleep and don-t wake up..
Like i did i got the flu for a week and could not smoke so i did not bother starting again when i was better,

Or like i did the time befor that i just buy cigs in sigular packets and not in bulk,. and when i wanted to smoke i would use gum. also haveing an nicotine inhaler helps too, i also had one of these to when i had the flu to stop me goin back on. and when you not had a cig for more then 2days you can then give up. but you only give you if YOU want to give up. if a person is asking you too it dose not help as i been there with nagging x;s in the past. i know i smoke for over 17ys and i only stop in dec just gone but i feal lot better for it. and it get on my nerves now been round ppl that smoke as i can smell and taste better.

good luck,. i dont know were you are but in the UK if you go to any chemist they do a free stop smoking help guide. and give you nicotine patch or inhalers free for you to stop.. it can be hard to give up. but trust me when you have you think it was not that hard in the end.
Its harder the longer you have been smokeing but go cold turkey my uncle got lemon drops the main thing is find something that works for you try differant things there is alot out there one will work for you, your doctor can help i hear they have a shot now ask your doctor about it good luck!
Don-t buy any tobacco. When I gave up, the hardest bit was to not go into my regular shop and buy them. Walk a different route and dont pass the tobacconist. Chew gum, take up a hobby that incorporates the use of your hands, therefore you keep them busy. Chew a pencil or pen (but beware of the splinters), above all, talk to people. Tell them you are feeling a little edgy due to withdrawal symptoms, I am sure they will understand. If you have friends that smoke, let them know you are trying to quit, true friends won-t keep offering you one. Good Luck and I hope you succeed.
Don-t.

Eventually you die from lung cancer, and then problems like -Quitting smoking- will no longer vex you.
I understand from my reading on low blood sugar that some addictions can be caused by this condition (hypoglycemia).

Suggestion? Put off smoking for 30 minutes the next time you feel the need. Go to the kitchen and get some protein, meat, a can of tuna or whatever, and eat it. Also have some carbohydrate, like a handful of chips, or some carrots/celery and some nuts or peanut butter. Eat at least 2 ounces of the protein. Then drink a glass of water and do something else for 30 minutes, something active, like dancing, walking, or even singing. You may find your need for that smoke has lessened a bit. It might help you to stay the weight you are instead of gain (as is the experience of most ex-smokers).

You may also want to search Yahoo!Answers for this question, as it is asked regularly, and has gotten some great answers.

For basic information on hypoglycemia, check out www.hufa.org.
get a chest infection, if its bad enough you wont be able to smoke
quitting is easy, i-ve done it hunderds of times ha ha. only kiddin, you have to have it right in your head, i gave up 8 months ago, it has been hard at times , just went cold turkey.
Do not buy cigarettes in packets and keep.Do not carry small change. When you want to smoke eat chewing gum.
don-t quit outright. you will find yourself longing for it and you will probably end up smoking again. decrease your intake a little at a time. that will make withdrawal symptoms easier to deal with.
go to the doctors and join a smoking clinic it-s free and they really help when i stopped i got the nicotine inhalers they are given to you free each week that-s the only way i could have done it ,and if you like a drink then give up drinking fore at least four weeks otherwise you will want a fag, good luck go for it and good luck i can-t stand the smell of cigarettes now.
i am doing this because i want to quit also. place a bit of baking soda on you tounge when you get the erge, plus if you squeeze your earlobe as a acupunture site...for about 12/15 seconds it can cut the craving....also if you wait for 3 min...when you want to smoke you will pass the craving point...yes everything works pretty well....i went from having a cigg 2 min...after waking up...to a couple of hours....i get one after i eat....can-t cut down on that one though...already to skinny....
Death.
there-s no easy way.... Mentally and physically it can be very trying.... Some people claim they found it easy but they-re quite rare and very lucky....
One day at a time and slowly cut down and when you feel stress just join us here. Good luck and in time I hope you no longer need the stick.
don-t start .... u were warned!

but yeah, check out a 40yr old man cut down in the prime of life wheezing his way up a stair case like my uncle just before he died of lung cancer last year, and that would be enough for me!
Have just given up myself and it-s easy, did you know smoking is not actually addictive, only a habit. Think of pregnant women, alcoholics have alcoholic babies, drug users have drug dependant babies, smoking whilst pregnant doesn-t produce a baby with nicotine withdrawal. Addictive substances leave you with the shakes and sickness, nicotine is a habit and only makes you grumpy because you-re changing what you-re used to. Instead of telling yourself you can-t have a ciggy (this will make you want one more) tell yourself you don-t actually want or need one.
Reasons - It slows brain function by 30 %, increases blood pressure and heartrate and takes longer for your body to recover than after drinking a coffee with four spoons of granules in.
Lots and lots and lots of luck
Take a good look at a contaminated lung
The easies way to quit smoking is to just get rid of them. Stay away from others who smoke and keep yourself busy. Change your routine a little. if your used to having a cigarette after you eat try doing something else instead.
Try reading the Alan Carr book -How to stop smoking the easy way- - i know many people who have quit using this method.

It helps give you new ideas about smoking and doesnt try to scaremonger you - just changes the way you think.

Remember- nicotene withdrawl is very short and if you have your last fag before bed by time you wake up in the morning you are through the withdrawl process, its a mental, rather than physical, craving that makes you want to smoke, try and get through it one hour at a time- just say to yourself -ok, im not gonna smoke for the next hour-, then say it again. do it in minutes if you need to.

God luck..... may the force be with you! x
dont buy cigarettes !
go visit the lung cancer ward at you local hospital
don-t buy them
save ur money to buy something nice
and chew chewing gum

How to quit smoking? -

I-ve noticed that my father has been going out sometimes and smokes for 3 minutes or so, but not EVERYDAY. I really want him to stop because he is 56 and I don-t want anything to happen to him. He-s so smart and caring and I don-t want to lose him. What should I do? What does smoking do to you other than the basic facts; i.e. does it cause Alzheimer-s? Anything?
The answer is in the willpower. If he ai-nt got it he-ll not do it.
Tell him how you feel about it if you have not already done so.
at first your father is in a ware of what he is doing.....................
do you know that after smoking 4 cigarettes the got taxied by nicotine
try to get closer to your father @1@

talk about bad things that happens for people who smokes@2@

talk how it effects the family@3@

one more thing say to him that he can smoke cigarettes with lower nicotine@4@____________________________.…
There are many undesirable effects from smoking - we could fill Yahoo Answers completely wiht the problems it can cause.

Light smokers are just as addicted to their nicotine as heavy smokers. It-s not the amount you smoke; it-s the habit that causes problems.

There are many ways he could get help when he is ready. What you want will not really affect hs decision except to let him know what you think. Support him and let him know how much you love him.

There is even a company that will guarantee you will stay a non-smoker for 10 years after you quit.
There are many ways out there to stop smoking. If he is smoking say a pack a day cold turkey more than likely will fail so he would need to try the patch, nicotene gum, or something like that. The first thing you should do is tell him how it makes you feel and ask him to quit. If he says that he doesn-t want to i really wouldn-t push the issue because you don-t want to ruin your relationship with him. He could talk to a Dr. to find out the best way for him to quit from his suggestion. From my knowledge the only thing that it can lead to is hear disease, lung cancer, and maybe asthima but i-m not sure if there are any other things it can cause.
Hello There,

I don-t think smoking causes things like Alzheimers to happen to your body, but it will surely help progress health issues to happen sooner than they naturally would occur especially after a certain age.

My wife smoked for over 10 years and when she found out that she was pregnant with our now newborn 3 months old daughter, she had promised me that if I found a good solution for quitting, she will try her best to kick the habit.

Well in my spare time I started researching online for quit smoking programs, meanwhile she was trying out patches and gums that you can buy at grocery stores and adventually they would not work for her.

After about a week of researching I had stumbled over a website that really impressed me on what they had to offer and that they actually say that they can almost guarantee your success, and most importantly that you can try it out for free.

The company has been around for over 20 years now and they have helped over a million smokers quit since and their kit has everything that you possibly need to help you quit smoking, I thought WoW that is impressive.

I went ahead and ordered the free trial for my wife (only paid for shipping) and she has quit smoking in just two weeks and she doesn-t want to hear about or smell another cigarette again in her life :)

Now it is up to you, but since my wife has quit, I was so happy about her success, so much so that I had built a small review site of the product to also help other people quit, you can check it out at;
http://time2quitnow.com
if you want to find out more.

P.S. They do ship to Canada.

Thanks for reading my short story, I hope it helps, good luck and stay healthy.

I keep an empty pack of cigarettes in my purse. That way, I don-t need to buy them as I have a pack in my purse. Weird, as they-re empty, but it works!
watching results--?
Inhaling from a stick of fire apparently irritated my tongue and throat, to the point where I couldn-t eat anything even REMOTELY spicy anymore. Even drinking soda would cause my tongue to burn like I-d eaten a raw jalapeno, seeds and all. All the foods I loved to eat were suddenly off-limits. That-s what helps me when I feel the desire to go for a cigarette.
my illness~i was in a coma for 4 weeks ~got over the worst of the withdrawl symptos with out knowing it~
just never bothered me since ~my reason for not even being tempted~the hospital staff who saved my life ~i am not prepared to let them down by making myself ill again.
nearly 5 years now from 100+ a day to ZERO
have a nice day
My aunt smoked for YEARS - now she can-t even breathe without an oxygen tank. Also my aunt has always died MANY times from smoking. I-ve seen her hooked up to machines and tubes going in and out of her body.

Once I went to visit her at the hospital and she couldn-t even sit up. ALL because she STILL smokes and wants to a dumb@ss.
Whatever works for you. Everybody is different. I heard it was bad for you back in the 60-s and just quit a 1 pack a day habit/addiction, but then I quit drinking the same way in 2001.

Congratulations on quiting. I am proud of you for doing it.
I once quit by smoking tobacco-less cigs, that was weird because, they tasted horrible! You can quit by replacing them with smoking something that taste bad like, those little cigars.
One night at a club when I smoked more often than I drank, I put a cig in my mouth - for some reason it tasted like crap! With the exception of a one-day relapse last year I have not smoked (tobacco) since 05-

So on my fourth try to quit smoking i think this time I-m finally done for good. My 21st birthday is coming up soon and i decided i also wanted to quit smoking marijuana altogether and start working out and buying nice clothes with all my extra money. But I find myself asking, -is it too soon to start making other changes if you-ve only just begun to make the first change?-. I don-t want to pile to much on my plate and not quit anything, ha. Anyway thanks for your input.
Nice! I have quit for 3 months and am already feeling good about it. The free guide that I read really keeps me in shape even after quiting.
take things one at a time so that you wont get upset if things doesnt work.

Hi, nice to know that U had quited smoking, still u didnt mention what r the other bad habits u r having any way I can, manage to understand what r those, still dont take fast decisions for all the habits as some will have its withdrawal effects, so psychologically prepare yourself, medidate, and read good books regading taughts of great man, all the best
I think if you are in self-improvement mode you should go ahead and quit both. Plus, smoking weed will probably make you want to smoke, and it-s just such a demotivating drug you may lose your will when you are high one day. Stop inhaling all smoke and feel the benefits. Just remember, you will have bad days when just just want to say to hell with it. Remind yourself why you shouldn-t smoke.
Good Luck

I quit meth. I quit smoking. in the last year i gained 70 pounds. Need to lose at least 50! am trying a diet.. -

I was on meth 24/7 for a year.Have now been clean for 1 yr, and quit smoking cigarettes 4 months ago. Have gained so much weight...now excercising, eating dry toast for breakfast, 2 apples for a snack, leancuisine for lunch, an apple and a lowfat granola bar for snack, and another lean cuisine for dinner.I eat dinner around 5:00, jog half a mile, then have another apple.I also have an hypothyroidism which I am on medication for.Is this a healthy diet? Is it low enough in fat and calories that I should lose weight? My eating was out of control, since getting clean, food has taken on a whole new meaning and has never been so good! and of course, since quitting smoking, i ate instead of smoked. now the cravings are under control, but i am up to 200 pounds!hope someone can make some suggestions!
first off I will congratulate in making the right choice that you do want to lose some 200 pounds.

if you do exactly what I tell you, I guarantee you that you will see results.

you must do the following:

1. food.
(a) unhealthy foods - - -please say good bye to any form of unhealthy food including junk foods whatsoever.
(b) healthy foods - - - - please consult with a doctor about nutrition and diets to see what forms of foods you are allowed to eat.
2. liquids.
(a) because you will go to the gym, every single day, you will be required to drink at least a gallons worth of liquids (excluding sodas of any sort and mineral water) such as water, milk, orange juices, etc., etc., etc.
3. exercise
(a) I suggest that you do at least between 2 or 3 miles in the treadmill in which it should be approximate about 40 to 60 minutes
CONGRATS ON BEATING METH! I am very impressed. That is hard to do. If you can do that, you can do anything! I don-t know about your special dietary needs, you might see a dietician, to help you set up a menu for your lifestyle. Also check out the internet for diets that may help! God love ya!!!

jogging a half mile does nothing. I asked my Doc and told her I run 1-1.5 miles and can-t lose weight. She said It more depends on the amount of TIME you spend do cardio work. It needs to be 30-40 min. also get enrolled in college and fill your time. make different friends. and maybe start lifting wieghts at a gym. Don-t try at home you-ll end up eating. at a gym there is nothing to do there but workout. Spend 30 min. in a light jog then lift for an hour. Sweat alot and drink lots of water.
i think what you-re doing now sounds fine...you-re eating enough and exercising. good job for getting clean. good luck.
A new fad diet up and coming is the Lemon Cleanse. You can loose an average of 10lbs/week on it. I-ve heard it works but fast loss usually means fast gain so I would be careful after coming off the diet.

This is the recipe:

2 tablespoons FRESH squeezed lemon or lime juice (approx. 1/2 lemon)
2 tablespoons genuine organic maple syrup, Grade B or C(the darker the better)*
1/10 teaspoon (a small pinch!) cayenne pepper, gradually increase (the more BTUs the better)
300 - 500 cc (10-14 oz) pure water

You drink that mix every 1-2 hours and take in nothing else but purified water. After one week you should see results but should not continue the diet for more than 40 days.

There is a strict regiment of foods to eat for the first week or so after coming off the diet so you don-t shock your system.

Pretty much everything on this diet is fairly well explained in Stanley Burrough-s book, The Master Cleanser and there-s some stuff on this website:
http://www.falconblanco.com/health/clean…

I-m also clean for 1 year. Yeah for us!! You need to up your exercising, if you can-t run more than 1/2 mile then speed walk as much as you can. Your diet sounds perfect. If the food your eating isn-t causing you to loose weight then keep increasing your workout routine. Your body needs to be challenged so don-t get stuck doing the same thing over and over.
First off a BIG CONGRAT-S on getting yourself clean!!!!!!!!!!
Now you are into another stage of doing something good for yourself and working out a lifestyle plan of eating that you can stick with for a life. A diet per say is something that people go on and will lose weight but usually go off of and go back to the way they were eating before and end up gaining weight back. So what you need to find is a lifestyle plan that you can lose weight on and also stick with after for maintaining your new look.

What you have mentioned above....mainly the lean cuisine - I are not what is considered *whole foods* and I also believe most are high in sodium content. I believe in getting back to the basic-s would be helpful for you and since you are a determined person - I know you can do it. Choose whole healthy foods that work for you to lose weight - and not all people lose weight following the same type of plan because not all can (or want to follow the same or react to the same plan the same way). Your body will let you know. So pick a plan be it Lowcarbing, Weight Watchers, South Beach or a zillion others - but one that is actually based on store bought food and not specialty food thats going to cost you an arm and a leg :-)

Water is always very important no matter what plan you are following - so you should be drinking eight 8oz glasses a day. As for exercise - I know at 200 pounds it can be tough at times. You can start with just simple walking for 30 min a day and work yourself up from there - add in weight training to tone (I-m assuming you are a woman that is not looking at building up lots of muscle). As time progresses you can increase both of these.

Don-t become addicted to the scales - but rely more on how your clothing is fitting you as you lose. If you are working out muscle weighs more than fat - so if the scales are not moving down you can still be looking better and clothing fitting better overall.

After years and years of yo-yo dieting I quit dieting and finally did what I have said here - I lost 125 pounds in 8 months.
Try low-carb. You-re never hungry and have tons of energy. Works for me ; )
Go back to meth and smoking, you-ll lose the weight fast!
I quit meth. I quit smoking. in the last year i gained 70 pounds. Need to lose at least 50! am trying a diet.. -

Ive finally quit smoking and have a horrible cough. Any suggestions on what to do about this? -

It has been 5 days since I have stopped
A popular herbal remedy in China is to grate a fresh radish and mix that with two teaspoons of honey in small amount of water and drink the mixture. Radish is a natural expectorant and but honey is a natural antibiotic. It is also rich in proteins, Amino acids vitamins and enzymes.

To start to repair and reverse some of the damage to your lungs, eat foods that are highly alkaline - such as spinach, beets, greens, lima beans, raisins and figs. The vitamins and minerals in these foods will help repair damaged lung tissue.

Vitamin C takes a beating trying to combat the free radicals in your body that are caused by smoking. Even people exposed to secondhand smoke have serious depletion of Vitamin C.

Strawberries and blueberries are rich in vitamin C and fiber. They’re quick and simple finger food, and easily be added to your favorite whole grain cereal oatmeal, or low-fat yogurt. Pink grapefruit, guava are also good sources of vitamin C.

The health improvements continue long after you quit smoking. Your gift at the first anniversary of quitting is that your risk of coronary heart disease becomes half that of what you risked as a smoker.

Make it to your fifth year smoke-free and your risk of stroke is the same as a non-smoker. In ten years, your lungs become stronger and your chances of dying from lung cancer are only half as great as if you continued to smoke.

Yet another benefit - you’ll keep aging signs at bay. The mouth suction that you use to puff on the cigarette is terrible for producing or deepening wrinkles. When you stop smoking, you give those facial muscles a well deserved rest.

Download the free chapters at the following website for more information.

Good luck, I-ve been there.
Congratulations! Keep on going, you-ve come this far! Your lungs are probably just trying to get all that nasty stuff out of their. I would just suck on cough drops, that should help.
she-s right it is just your body getting rid of all the stuff you have in your lungs, you-ll be looking forward to a couple of weeks of coughing up nasty stuff
sorry

What kkinds of Nicotine Patches have you used to quit smoking and .....? -

which one would you recommend for me? I-m trying to quit as well.
Do not be fooled by brands of patches. Well at least not the Target brand. I choose to use the target brand because well it was cheaper. I started with Step 1, then moved to two. Now I-m using Step 1 and cutting them in half. This way you get double the amount of patches and still get to have the benefits of the patch.
Cold turkey is the only way to go. Simply stop. All NRT does is prolong the misery.
I have nicorette and the patch, I havent tried to quit yet-keep putting it off. Hard it is and unless you set your mind to it, you wont succeed
Nicoderm
Honestly, patches and gum only continue to feed your nicotine addiction. The best thing to do is simply quit. Easy for me to say, I know, but I quit smoking just over a year ago and I did it through hypnosis. Nicotine only remains in your system for 72 hours. After that, the rest is just habit. Just quit! Don-t trade one bad habit for another. My son went back to cigarettes so that he could give up nicotine gum. JUST QUIT!

i want say my age but im underage to smoke.ive been smoking for about 14 months and its affecting my breathing and its changing my teeth color. if i quit will i start breathing normally again and will the yellow tint come off my teeth.or is the damage done and here to stay i want to quit.please help
The damage is done, your lungs can be cleaned out over time, bu the stains on your teeth are there to stay unless you decide to whiten them, but that would only change their appearance, not their health. It-s never too late to quit though. Think of it this way, if you quit now, they won-t get worse. If you think -oh, it can-t get any worse than this-, well, you-ll find out.
1. If you quit, you probably will have a bit of a more difficult time breathing at first. But it-ll subside. As for your breathing turning back to normal, it takes on the order of 5-10 years to regain a normal level of breathing, assuming you-re a heavy smoker right now. Plus, you-re young and healthy! If ever, this is the best time to quit.

2. As for your teeth color, there are a lot of teeth whitening products out there. I-m personally not especially familiar with any of them, but if you-re teeth are indeed turning yellow, you should check out those products.
It is thought that the damage to your lungs is permanent, however, after many years, and we-re talking 10 maybe 15 years of smoke free environments, your lungs should heal. Other side effects, like lack of smell, taste and the stink that surrounds smokers can take a few months to overcome. The damage to your teeth is irreparable, the enamel cannot be replaced unless you go for specific treatment, which may or may not work.
There might be some damages done but it-s never too late to quit smoking. The truth is that there is no perfect or easy time to quit. Even if you’re one of the very few human beings in this life who has no stress in their life (I don’t believe people like this exist), it’s going to be just as hard as if your life was full of stress. In fact, the act of making such a life change with symptoms and side effects of nicotine withdrawal is very likely to create an amazing amount of stress on not only your life, but the people’s lives around you too.
yep, the damage has been done.
it totally depends on how much you have smoked. i-m in the same situation or was. i-m a runner and i had gotten myself into that stuff and it was pretty bad. people starting noticing that i was acting weird and i couldnt run as fast due to my lack of breathing. you should definetly stop, but it will be hard. think of all the amazing things you have, but then it could change because of this problem. you have to find the will to stop and just pull it right out of you.
i recommed brushing your teeth like crazy and whitening strips. i honestly don-t think there is much to do about your lungs, but don-t take my word for it.
if you need some more advice just ask me.
best of luck!
get a real bad sore throat that hurts when you smoke, then you will certainly stop,that-s how I stopped.

What is Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)?

LLLT is the application of a -cold- pure laser light to treat certain conditions. It has been used to successfully treat many kinds of musculoskeletal injuries because it promotes healing and tissue repair. LLLT has also been found to be an extremely successful treatment for alcohol and drug addiction, weight control, and smoking cessation.

Is LLLT safe?

LLLT is a safe, painless, and medication-free treatment. It has been used in England, Canada, and Europe for over 20 years with no documented adverse side effects. Laser therapy is a non-medical procedure and is respected by many physicians as a highly effective treatment.

How does LLLT work?

The laser light reached through the skin to stimulate your nerve endings to produce endorphins. Endorphins are produced normally by you and are nature-s own mood lifter and anesthetic. The endorphin production relives the physical withdrawal symptoms of quitting smoking and helps keep you from feeling anxious or -crabby-.

good luck
I Hope this is enough information for you, and at least it is a start..
good luck
and I know you CAN do it..
I-ve never heard of laser therapy. However Hypnotherapy is meant to be effective. It takes around 3 sessions, and costs around AU$80 per session, which is worth it if you add up the amount you spend on cigarettes. I-m going to give it a shot, I really want to quit smoking aswell. Best of Luck.
I got laser treatment and it made me want to smoke more! Also, I love Jar Jar Binks!
Uhhh... your friend lies. That-s not possible.

Hypnosis, maybe, but unless they-re having their lips lasered shut, I don-t see how you could possibly do that.
rehab is for quitters
Here is what the American Cancer Society has to say about Cold Laser Therapy and smoking:

-Cold laser therapy providers advertise this method as a way to help people quit smoking, and some TV stations have reported this as news. The treatment is supposed to relax the smoker and release endorphins (naturally-occurring pain relief substances) in the body to simulate the effects of nicotine in the brain, or balance the body’s energy to relieve the addiction. Despite claims of success by some cold laser therapy providers, there is no scientific evidence that shows this is an effective method of helping people stop smoking. -
