Whats the easiest way to quit smoking? -


Cold turkey. Chew gum, eat sweets, whatever. But don-t touch another cig again.

And if you-re in England, stay away from pubs.
HI,,,, first...make up your mind that you want to quit!!!!!! that is most important..

Then,,,, i suggest getting some patches.. they work well,, and go for it..... exercise helps also......

do other things that will get your attention....from smoking.....or read some articles about smoking cigarettes.....this will help you to know the disadvantages of cigarettes to your health.....then Im sure you will be afraid .....then TARAN! you stop smoking

smoking is injurious to health already u know that so if u keep an special affection to any one person like this if u keep affection u wont like to live that person i think u can understand that if u smoke u can think that ur living from the special person because smoke leads to unhealth so please avoid smoking...... its ur friend request... ok see u have a healthy life.....

Like i did i got the flu for a week and could not smoke so i did not bother starting again when i was better,

Or like i did the time befor that i just buy cigs in sigular packets and not in bulk,. and when i wanted to smoke i would use gum. also haveing an nicotine inhaler helps too, i also had one of these to when i had the flu to stop me goin back on. and when you not had a cig for more then 2days you can then give up. but you only give you if YOU want to give up. if a person is asking you too it dose not help as i been there with nagging x;s in the past. i know i smoke for over 17ys and i only stop in dec just gone but i feal lot better for it. and it get on my nerves now been round ppl that smoke as i can smell and taste better.

good luck,. i dont know were you are but in the UK if you go to any chemist they do a free stop smoking help guide. and give you nicotine patch or inhalers free for you to stop.. it can be hard to give up. but trust me when you have you think it was not that hard in the end.
Its harder the longer you have been smokeing but go cold turkey my uncle got lemon drops the main thing is find something that works for you try differant things there is alot out there one will work for you,your doctor can help i hear they have a shot now ask your doctor about it good luck!
Don-t buy any tobacco. When I gave up, the hardest bit was to not go into my regular shop and buy them. Walk a different route and dont pass the tobacconist. Chew gum, take up a hobby that incorporates the use of your hands, therefore you keep them busy. Chew a pencil or pen (but beware of the splinters), above all, talk to people. Tell them you are feeling a little edgy due to withdrawal symptoms, I am sure they will understand. If you have friends that smoke, let them know you are trying to quit, true friends won-t keep offering you one. Good Luck and I hope you succeed.

I understand from my reading on low blood sugar that some addictions can be caused by this condition (hypoglycemia).

Suggestion? Put off smoking for 30 minutes the next time you feel the need. Go to the kitchen and get some protein, meat, a can of tuna or whatever, and eat it. Also have some carbohydrate, like a handful of chips, or some carrots/celery and some nuts or peanut butter. Eat at least 2 ounces of the protein. Then drink a glass of water and do something else for 30 minutes, something active, like dancing, walking, or even singing. You may find your need for that smoke has lessened a bit. It might help you to stay the weight you are instead of gain (as is the experience of most ex-smokers).

quitting is easy, i-ve done it hunderds of times ha ha. only kiddin, you have to have it right in your head, i gave up 8 months ago, it has been hard at times , just went cold turkey.
Do not buy cigarettes in packets and keep.Do not carry small change.When you want to smoke eat chewing gum.
don-t quit outright. you will find yourself longing for it and you will probably end up smoking again. decrease your intake a little at a time. that will make withdrawal symptoms easier to deal with.
go to the doctors and join a smoking clinic it-s free and they really help when i stopped i got the nicotine inhalers they are given to you free each week that-s the only way i could have done it ,and if you like a drink then give up drinking fore at least four weeks otherwise you will want a fag, good luck go for it and good luck i can-t stand the smell of cigarettes now.
i am doing this because i want to quit also. place a bit of baking soda on you tounge when you get the erge, plus if you squeeze your earlobe as a acupunture site...for about 12/15 seconds it can cut the craving....also if you wait for 3 min...when you want to smoke you will pass the craving point...yes everything works pretty well....i went from having a cigg 2 min...after waking up...to a couple of hours....i get one after i eat....can-t cut down on that one though...already to skinny....

there-s no easy way.... Mentally and physically it can be very trying.... Some people claim they found it easy but they-re quite rare and very lucky....
One day at a time and slowly cut down and when you feel stress just join us here. Good luck and in time I hope you no longer need the stick.

but yeah, check out a 40yr old man cut down in the prime of life wheezing his way up a stair case like my uncle just before he died of lung cancer last year, and that would be enough for me!
Have just given up myself and it-s easy, did you know smoking is not actually addictive, only a habit. Think of pregnant women, alcoholics have alcoholic babies, drug users have drug dependant babies, smoking whilst pregnant doesn-t produce a baby with nicotine withdrawal. Addictive substances leave you with the shakes and sickness, nicotine is a habit and only makes you grumpy because you-re changing what you-re used to. Instead of telling yourself you can-t have a ciggy (this will make you want one more) tell yourself you don-t actually want or need one.
Reasons - It slows brain function by 30 %, increases blood pressure and heartrate and takes longer for your body to recover than after drinking a coffee with four spoons of granules in.

The easies way to quit smoking is to just get rid of them. Stay away from others who smoke and keep yourself busy. Change your routine a little. if your used to having a cigarette after you eat try doing something else instead.
Try reading the Alan Carr book -How to stop smoking the easy way- - i know many people who have quit using this method.

It helps give you new ideas about smoking and doesnt try to scaremonger you - just changes the way you think.

Remember- nicotene withdrawl is very short and if you have your last fag before bed by time you wake up in the morning you are through the withdrawl process, its a mental, rather than physical, craving that makes you want to smoke, try and get through it one hour at a time- just say to yourself -ok, im not gonna smoke for the next hour-, then say it again. do it in minutes if you need to.
