How can I quit smoking when all my friends do and I like to drink socially on the weekends? -

I am 30 years old and have been a smoker for fifteen years, I actually enjoy it and do not want to give up my friends or drinking, but I know I need to quit Help!
If your thirty you shouldve learned self control, and a little bit of mind over matter. YOU are mentally fixated on the experience so for now your are doomed. YOU need to change your mental view of the habbit and make a decision to quit! for good!

You will not give up your friends........... or they arent real friends, and you can still drink!

weakness leaving the body!
The fact that your peers and drinking buddies and that you drink has NOTHING to do with quitting smoking. That is a cop out. IF you RE ALLY and TRULY want to stop.....stop. Trust me, there is NO easy way to stop smoking. Nicotine is one of the most addictive drugs around. It won-t be easy BUT you CAN do it. Good luck. Pops
i know it may be hard but dont smoke in your house and if people come over just tell them that you are trying to quit and ask them to poiltely to smoke outside...if your friends are good friends then they will understand and be behind you all the way...even when you are hanging out on the weekends...they should respect your decision...you might want to lay off the drinking for a little until you get used to not smoking because after drinking you are more prone to not think about it and smoke.
If your smoking right now throw it out. my mom and dad have been smoker for 23 something years my mom has been smoking sense she was 12. i find her cigarettes and crush them all and throw them in the garbage. you should do the same thing just say no.don-t do it i have bad habits that are bad for me but not anymore find good hobbies that you like to do instead of smoking. buy mints they are the same thing as cigarettes but there good for you. i know all this because i looked it all up because i want my parents to quit so badly. just stop simple as that don-t buy them easy as that

How did you quit smoking? -

My husband has been smoking for maybe 13 or 14 years and after receiving the results for an exam, he is convinced that he needs to quit smoking. What helped you quit smoking and not pick up a cigarette even when you were going through a bad or hard time in life?

Thanks for sharing.
nicorette inhaller. It is just like having a smoke but your not. its also more then the gum and patch because it gets you doing something with your hands.

What are good ways to quit smoking and get back in shape? -

Hey all,

I-m looking for ways that have people have tried that and that have worked to quit smoking and to get in shape with cheap alternatives.

I-d love any and all tips you can offer...
You can get in shape using the Lil Jack workout
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKCGe2Ezr…

I can-t answer the getting back in shape question but I think you-ll like my quit smoking answer.

Have you heard of the new electronic cigarettes? There was a story about them on Yahoo about a week ago. I-ve been smoking for 30 years and have tried everything to quit smoking without any success. I will be ordering my electronic cigarette starter package this week and I-m very excited about it. They simulate a real cigarette which none of the other quit smoking aids have done. They come with a rechargeable battery, when you inhale, you get a burst of nicotine for that craving and it actually looks like you-re blowing out smoke but it-s a water vapor mist. The tip of the cigarette even illuminates. So you get the nicotine you crave, the hand and mouth fixation is covered and exhaling the vapor mist looks like smoke.

The beauty of it is you still get all the stuff you crave from smoking without all the negative side effects or harmful additives found in tobacco. The starter kit comes with the electronic cigarette, battery, and five nicotine cartridges. Each cartridge is supposed to be equal to 1-2 packs of cigarettes. The kit is $79 and the cartridge refills are around $13 for a pack of five. I will be ordering from the site below.
I stopped over 9 months ago, I used patches for the first 12 weeks and got them through the government stop smoking scheme for the price of a prescription charge. I also joined a gym the day I quit - the cost is about a quarter of what I spent on cigarettes.
I really recommend taking up exercise at the same time as you quit, not only are you less likely to put on weight but it is a great feeling when you notice on a daily basis how much better you feel without the smokes.
Go for it, it is the best thing I ever did and I-d been smoking for 23 years so if I can do it anyone can!
Good luck x
Set a realistic long term goal months or a year for when you would like to officially end smoking and commit to it.

While gearing up to officially quit smoking. You should get involved with getting your life back together. This includes hanging around other people who don-t smoke, going to smoke free bars and or restaurants, take up a hobby or sport, exercise.

When you have figured out what it is you can DO (from step 2) to replace smoking. Do your best to limit how many cigarettes you buy and smoke.

While limiting your amount of buying and smoking intake invest in patches, gum, etc. Once again you must DECREASE your amount of intake in order to effectively quit for good.

While on patches, gum, etc. at the end of every week award yourself with a prize that doesn-t include smoking. Be excited and share your hard fight with other smokers who are trying to quit. Become an inspirational for someone else. Knowing that someone is watching your success will motivate you to reach your goal.
you might not like my answer!
1. to stop smoking! throw away your smokes! cold turkey! - i now lead a healthier live style! but now that i think of it! you need to do it the way you want to! Frankly the meathods are just scams... in my eyes that-s how i see it! bottom line it-s WILL POWER do you got it! YES You DO!! now work it! (first month is the HARDEST) after that it does get easier!
and you might gain a little weight most think it-s because they are replacing it! no it-s not that just FOOD taste GOOD again! and you can really taste it!

2. to work out set yourself up to win! I-m currently doing that now!
settting my self up to win!
i have a stepper (i do0n-t have much money to get good stuff) but i did make that exspence 50 bucks!
i started out getting up 5 minutes earlier daily! and i step on it for 5 minutes a day! (don-t seem like much and it-s not) but with it not being much i know i can do it daily! if i don-t t hen i-ll lower it! after a week of me getting all days in then i can add to it!
now i-m at 7 minute a day and i added sit ups - 10 a day!
so 2 minute increase and 10 sit ups i can do that!

and i-ll keep adding until i get to my desired level of activity!

hope this helps
My dad smoked and he decided to chew alot of gum instead and take long bike rides to improve his health, that worked for a year. And then he quit permanently by making it his new years revolution and a year later took all the money he would have spent smoking and put it into buying a new guitar.
Well I just didn-t buy any more. Quit cold turkey but that is me and some people are just not able to do that. The in shape question is well kinda difficult for me as I put quite a bit of time in at work. But my wife and I are taking up walking. Not only does it help in our relationship but the exercise is good as well.
There are some good chewing gums which help in quitting smoking. All you need to do is whenever you feel like smoking just use one chewing gum. Many times sample are given free.. and if user find them good you can continue.
ITS TOUGH AS HELL TO STOP. Try chewing tabacco.Once you have stopped smoking then try to stop chewing. Chewing is easier to stop.
If you want to stop cold turkey just get through the first 3 days and everyday that follows gets easier and easier. Just the 3 days are a *****.

Good Luck!
your answer is in the site i mentioned in the sources
Think of something you want to give up smoking for. And keep that in mind - It could be for your children?
Go running everyday and change your diet to a healthy one

Why does my health feel worse after I quit smoking? -

Why does my health feel worse after I quit smoking? -

I quit smoking almost a year ago, but now I feel worse then I did when I smoked. My blood pressure has gone up. Along with other minor issues. Why is this?
You may still be having withdrawal symptoms. Think of it as being a drug addict in recovery. Nicotine is an addictive drug. Plus quitting is great, but what is your lifestyle now. If you do not exercise and eat right, quitting smoking just saves you money. Go see a doctor to get a clean bill of health and start doing things that will help you be even more healthy. And congratulations for quitting...it is one of the hardest things you can do.
one word - ANXIETY
Your body needs minerals. You can find a lot of minerals in clay; try to read about clay and use it! Take good care!
Hey there!
good question, it is kind of -*** backwards- huh?
But it is true!

Ok, the blood pressure thing, can-t say, but I have been smoke free for 2 months, have also quit before, and this likewise puzzles me.

One thing is that it does appear that the nicotine effects go far beyond what is published.. I have aches and pains that I didn-t have when I smoked, I STILL crave a cigarette and it has long been out of my system.

Now, new info indicates that, if you have been smoking a loooong time, and/or your FOLKS smoked around you.. well, you are a -super- addict! Harder to quit than joe blow, and cravings don-t end so fast if ever.

Physiologically you will need to get a doc to answer for better detail on HOW, but those receptors in your brain.... well, they are still missing that nicotine.

Even tho you are -off- the devil weed, you might want to consider going on Wellbutrin (or its generic), which helps folks quit.. worked for me, when I was on it, didn-t much crave smokes, and when I did smoke a cig, didn-t get that -kick- upon inhalation.. was like sucking air thru a straw. The drug binds up with the neuro receptors so that nicotine can-t attach. There is also a newer drug that works similarly but is more effective, don-t remember the name.

Long and short of it.. despite whatever a doc might tell you, or current thinking.. you feel as you feel. And while you ARE a year older than you were a year ago, and blood pressure can go up on its own as can aches and pains, I think it is time for you to invent your OWN treatment and see if this is more than age catching up!

Do NOT try nicotine replacement (gum or patch etc) since you are already off the ****, but DO think about one of the drugs above.. see if they help.

And it could just be a coincidence.. and if the drugs above don-t help, then rethink your level of exercise etc. and see if more/less helps?

t
I agree that stress is very possible. I can-t really offer any opinions without further details.
it depends on how much you used to smoke and the damage that you did to your organs, anyway is good for your health that you quit smoking, go to your doctor for a general checkup, do exercise and drink enough water, this is gonna make you feel better, good luck
Stress is a killer?
It-s withdrawls from not having nicotine in you... Nicotine is very addicting, so your body is trying to deal with not having it anymore. I don-t have any suggestions on what you should do tho, I am a smoker and with all the stress in my life right now, I can-t afford to quit. But good luck with it, I am thinking a nicotine patch or nicotine gum might work.
for one probably stress issues another is that if you were smoking for a long while before you quit the toxens from the smoking is still in your system and needs flushed out it takes a long time to get thru the effects of smoking keep strong and try drinking lots of water and take some vitamins it will help alot .. and just try to relax and not stress about things too much because stress is a pain in the butt
Your body is detoxing. I myself am an ex-smoker. I began a healthy diet. I now eat lots of fruits and veggies, no refined sugars and less caffeine. Take baby steps and go easy on yourself. Congratulations, you made a great move. Also, at Whole Foods or any health food store you can buy Detox teas and cleansing systems for such a thing. Also, drink lots of water with lemon
good luck.

How can I help my bf quit smoking? -

I don-t want to be an annoying gf but it-s a bad habit and I-m worried about his heath because I care about him very much :)
I-m sure he wouldn-t think you annoying, its very sweet you care about him enough.
My sister-s boyfriend - now he husband, and a smoke free husband I may add - smoked for 7 years before he met her! I-m not really sure how she did it, but to be honest, I think she guilt tripped him. They where trying for a baby - I dunno if your quite there with your bf yet - but she basically said -I don-t want to be a widow with a child and living alone- and etc. This scared him out of smoking.
He has been smoke free for almost 6 months now, and has told me he doesn-t even crave much, which is good :)
It-s an awful habit to get into, but even worse to break out of.
Just tell him you-re worried, I-m sure if he cares for you and understands why you-re so worried, he-ll give the smoking a rest - after all, it-s just a little white death stick.

Good luck to him, and to you :)
x
I had similar experience with my husband (boyfriend at the time). He knew how I felt and I would joke about not having him around for the rest of our lives due to lung cancer so I need to make the best of my time with him. I never made him stop cold as that is hard for anyone to do. He was not a heavy smoker so maybe that helped. A pack would last him about a week or less. After putting in perspective how much a pack costs and the savings, he slowly cut back and soon started buying packs every other week instead of weekly and bumbed cigs off his friends. He quickly grew tired of having to ask friends and the weeks he didn-t buy, he noticed the saving in money and a difference in his health. He decided to stop cold only after he was only smoking a few times a week. He did this as a new years resolution for himself not for me.

Now the taste of cigs makes him sick.

Good luck and I hope it works out.
Well you can-t make him quit but you can talk to him about it, nicely i might add and dont sound forceful.just tell him your concerns about his health and that you love him.
first step for him would be to talk to a doctor because they know about quitting programs and medications that can make quitting easier and increase chances of quitting for good. be supportive of him!!!

If you really want to quit smoking do what I did. Buy the eCigarette. It works great, you still get to smoke and there is no tar, tabbaco, or smell. I am telling you I bought it at a mall for $150, I found it for about $70 at http://www.giftgiftgifts.com/cat-ecigarette.cfm and there is a lot of information at http://www.gadgetworldus.com/eCigrettes.html Ceck it out.
haiz... very difficult la... maybe u shd pick up smoking to annoy him,

How can you quit smoking when you really dont want to but have to? -

My Dr. told me I have to quit. I am taking the drug Chantix and it really works. I-ve gone 6 days without smoking but I still really want to. I-ve smoked for 32 years so that in it-s self is amazing.
Congrats!!
I just finished the Chantix 2 weeks ago and am so far a successful quitter after having smoked for 19 years.

You-ve gone 6 days and that-s HUGE!!! You-re over the hump and the fact that you still want to smoke is totally normal. You will probably want to smoke for months, maybe years! Over time you will want to smoke less and less frequently. You-ll get used to it.
The best thing you can do is to remind yourself that you-ve gone 6 days without smoking!! Tomorrow will be 7! The next day will be 8!! Do you really want to waste all that time by sneaking in a cigarette?? You-ll have to start all over again! Make it a challenge to do just one more day, then another, then another! YOU CAN DO IT!!
At 6 days, you-re probably at the point where you have tons of nervous energy. I decided to put that energy to good use, I found a local gym that offered a 2-week free trial membership, and I went everyday for those 2 weeks. I learned how to exercise and used that energy for something positive.

After not smoking for 6 months, I can tell you that once you get here, you will feel AMAZING!!! Your breathing will feel -clean-. You-ll wake up without coughing and hacking, you-ll have TONS of energy. You have to want it though, because the Chantix isn-t going to do it all by itself. It helps, but you have to want to not smoke!! Force yourself... you won-t be sorry.

Best of luck to you!!
If you wanna live, ..you-ll quit, period.
Its a no brainer really.
i smoked for 23 years, ...a pack a day, and this dec will be 11 years...since i quit...and its the best thing i ever did. You just have to do it ....
i think the pills and patches are ...all b.s.....for the simple reason, that, ...yeah ok, you quit.....(though i think it psychological, thinking a pill or patch is making you quit)...but the pills..??...well they give you a bunch of other health problems down the road.
I have been taking care of people that are dying for 28 years.....many whom have lung cancer, from smoking.....and emphazima...etc....Perhaps you-d like to come to work with me??
I smoked for about 12 years myself. There is no easy answer but surprisingly the answer is simple. JUST DON-T SMOKE. It falls down to the will power you half to have to help you get better and be healthier. If there was a pill or a proven technique half the world that does smoke wouldn-t be smoking right now.
I know this is not easy though. Find some friends that are on board with you not smoking and that will support you. Your family might help you also. Take up a hobby that you can do when you really want a cigarette to help distract you, might help. Gum chewing maybe or straw biting or pen biting. Always carry a pen in your hand to keep them busy. There are several distraction techniques you can try and hobbies and the like. In the end though it comes down to will power and the want to live a better life style and be healthier epically when you grow older.
If there is a will there is a way ...thinka bt all the bad things that will happen!
Gradual is best. Just slow it down until you stop. Make rules about where you can smoke and keep limiting yourself until you just give it up.
well if u been smoking for that long then i think maybe u just like the habit of smoking...im sure that when u get the habit of not smoking then u-ll be thankful u quit! =)
For that drug to work you have to WANT it too. You aren-t going to be able to quit without the right frame of mind.
well congratulations on the 5 days. The thing is you have to want to quit. You have to know that smoking is affecting your health and your loved ones. Smoking kills. Second Hand Smoke kills. No one can force you to stop. Its your perogative. Hope you do the right thing.
Good Luck.
Find a new more healthier Addiction or a hobbie to keep your mind off it
that great! congratulations on the 6 days! it-s only real bad the first couple of weeks, so hang on there for a few more days and i promise you it gets easier.
you may still miss it of course, but it will be easier to say no. just keep away from people who smoke
Just stick with it!
Chantix is what helped me too, and I-m at 7-1/2 months now. It *does* get easier. (I smoked for roughly as long as you, maybe even a little longer.)
Give it time, Chantix will start making you not want to smoke the 2nd week-3rd week.
think of the severe health factors
electric shock ur self wen u have a fag as punishment
How weird you-re asking this. I have a similar problem: the only real difference is that I don-t have to quit. I take birth control, so I SHOULD, in theory...

I don-t really smoke at all anymore - not like I used to. I only smoke if I-m around my cousin - we-re like best friends, and when we get together, all we do is gossip, smoke, and have a drink. I don-t smoke any other time. I haven-t completely quit because I just don-t WANT to yet. I think, in your case, (providing you talk it over with your doctor first) it might be ok to have one eveyr once in awhile, as you gradually start to realize that you DON-T really need those things anymore. As time goes by, you-ll:

-rely on them less in or after stressful situations.
-rely on them less for comfort.
-rely on them less as a habit.
-enjoy not smelling like a cigarette all the time.

But 6 days is good! Its a start! Give yourself a break every once in awhile, though, as you wean yourself off. And convice yourself of the less obvious perks of not smoking. You can quit eventually, and so can I dammit! LOL
The nicotine is out of your system in 3 days, so now you must deal with the pyschological conditioning. Chew on gum, carrot sticks, take a shower when the cravings are real bad. Avoid triggers, like coffee or alcohol, and go for wlks after meals. It-ll help
eat those atomic fire balls thats what stoped my mom to quite smoking and she had been smoking 4 a while.
I just made it a month with out smoking with no help from anything (cold turkey) I smoked for 34 years you can make it
gOOD fOR yOu!
hmmm.... just try... theres a gum thing 4 it... ask ur dr. bout it..
GOOD LUCK!
1) unhealthy
2) It will take time to quit
try to use a couple less every week so then your body will aort of adjust and then you will quit, or join a group that helps with that kkind of stuff
eViE
well, i think u should just try really hard, think of all the bad things that would happen if u continue smoking, also go and watch some picture of how the cigarettes are made and how ur lungs will be like if u continue
Its admiral that you are doing so well! For me it-s a hand to mouth thing. Get some peppermint sticks and use them for the hand to mouth thing. 1 stick can last all day so it-s not that much sugar. Good luck.
well try those nicotine patches with will power they will work good luck
I-m having a bit of a stuggle with this at the moment because I enjoy smoking but have many reasons not to. It-s dificult when the people around you smoke but the best things to do are:

*Don-t smoke socially. If your friends or co-workers are going out for a smoke, DON-T join them, as you will be tempted.

*Find a healthy substitute. E.g. When you-re craving, have a glass of water or a handful of nuts/fuit salad etc

*Drill into your head that you hate smoking. Every time someone lights up, try to feel disgusted... think about your lungs becoming black and shriveled, or your blood clotting, or trying to breathe/survive if you get emphysema/cancer. (This one-s easy for me as my grandfather just passed away from cancer last week).

In my experience, -cutting down- does NOT make quiting easier. The best thing to do is just go cold turkey and be STRICT with yourself. Be a cigarette nazi! DO NOT buy them or be anywhere near them.

If you slip after a few weeks and decide to have one, you-ll probably start to hate them as you will get a headache/bad taste in your mouth/want to fall asleep. These are the symptoms you don-t notice as a smoker, but once you are a non-smoker for a while, it-ll get easier and easier.

Good luck!
STOP!!!
DAMN IT!
IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR LIFE YOUR HEALTH YOU WOULD STOP OR HAVE NEVER EVEN STARTED!!!!!!!

i suggest a bracelet that you can snap or trade hands every time you start or get the urge to smoke.

How long should I quit smoking to pass a nicotine urinalysis? -

I-ve been an on-and-off, primarily social smoker for four years. (At my worst I smoke 1/2 pack in one day). My parents are renewing a life insurance policy they have on me and I have a blood and urine test next Monday. I don-t do any illegal drugs but I believe they-re testing for nicotine too. I had a few cigs at the bar last night and threw the rest out. If I don-t smoke before Monday, will I be all right? Any detox tips? What if I-m around second-hand smoke in the meantime?
Having just quit smoking, I can answer this question with certainty. It takes up to 72 hours for nicotine to fully leave your system.
Smoking contributes to a lot of illness including cancer, respiratory diseases and cardio vascular diseases. The harmful effects of smoking do not end with smokers; second hand smoke also affects non smokers and caused deaths due to lung cancer and heart diseases.Smoking is a strong habit that is hard to stop but it can be stopped and you have to find the best effective way to quit smoking before your health starts to deteriorate.

There are numerous ways to quit smoking available today, but how can you find the best one?Now I will show you some common ways to quit Smoking:

1 One way to stop smoking is through Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT). While this is not the best effective way to stop smoking and this is for short time use, about 20-40% of smokers find success on this method. This therapy includes wearing patches, chewing nicotine-containing gums and nicotine nasal spray or inhaler. This method reduced the physical symptoms of withdrawal from smoking like irritability and tiredness.

2 Cold turkey is another way to stop smoking. This is the most popular method though not the best effective way to stop smoking. This contributes to only 5% of success per try. Cold turkey means to stop smoking immediately and without preparation. Smokers have to try this over and over again to succeed.

3 The Gum is good for many smokers because it gives you something to do with your mouth while kicking the smoking habit. With most nicotine gum, you chew the gum a few times and store it between the lip/cheek and gum. The nicotine is then released through your gums and cheek. This is a great way to quit smoking because you satisfy the chemical and some of the mental dependency of smoking.

For people whove quit smoking successfully- what did you do? -

Im trying to quit smoking....I-ve been slowly weening myself off of them, but im just not sure if this is gonna work..

need advice.
I quit smoking 6 years ago this April 19th and can-t believe that I was ever a smoker. I used to smoke more than a pack a day and I LOVED it. What I found worked for me when I decided I didn-t want to do it any longer (and that is KEY...YOU have to decide for YOU...not for anybody else) is the following. I played a game to start with. I said -Okay, I am out of cigarettes and will need one in the morning or I will be running around like mad getting to the store before work. - and then I thought -Or...maybe I won-t buy a pack...Hmmmm...maybe I should try to not smoke tomorrow morning- So that is what I did. And then when I hadn-t smoked or bought a pack by lunch I challenged myself to get to dinner without a cigarette. And then bedtime too just to see if I could get through one day. I viewed as just testing the waters and seeing what it might be like for a day. When that worked, I tried for another day...then another. For the first three or four days I approached it not like I was definitely going to quit and declaring it to the world. Rather, my approach was to think -I will try not to have one today but I give myself permission to have one if I want to-. Then, after about 5 days I figured that I was over the physically difficult part of the addiction so they I -decided- that I was definitely quitting...and then it got a bit tough. What worked for me then was to get out of my habits. I went to visit friends out of town for a couple of days and that got me away from my habits. Finally, and what I think worked best, was that I replaced one addiction with another addiction...running. I had NEVER run before that in my life and I started doing it every time I was feeling an urge for a cigarette (better than eating to stop the cravings). It ended up working amazingly well to just change my cigarette addiction for a healthy lifestyle. I basically swung the completely opposite direction and became super healthy. I think people with addictive personalities can latch onto anything to be addicted to and so be conscious and choose something for you. I ended up losing 60 pounds and have run two marathons. Another thing is to have a reward in mind once you reach a certain number of days being smoke free...So, in short

(1) Try it out as just a test for a morning, afternoon, day, two days, etc.
(2) Find a way to distract you once (1) starts to work
(3) Find another addiction to replace smoking
(4) Realize the benefits of what you will be getting (healthy lungs, ease walking up stairs...you will never realize how much you stunk until after you are not a smoker any more)

Good Luck!
What I did was to go cold, the act of having a smoke is a ritual, So this act needs to be replaced.
When you want a smoke do something else with your hands, this is an area to work with first.
Need more help get back to me and I-ll help you along .
Good luck, when your off you-ll smell a-lot better and you-ll wonder why you ever started.
I used the patch. I didn-t wean myself. I slapped on that patch and said -I am now a non-smoker- . I didn-t say -trying- to quit, I said I HAVE quit.
Yeah it was tough because I smoked a pack+ a day of Marlboro Red but I just made a decision to STOP.
i was a smoker for 15 years. what i did was i got a quit smoking partner.... (he didnt end up quitting but....thats a different story) we set a date that we wanted to quit. it was within like a month... the day we quit we took what was left in our cigarette pacs and broke them all in half and put them in the trash.

also drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes is one feat i can not get past. if i drink and others are smoking... i want a cigarette bad--- i usually give into these cravings but i remind my self that just cause i had cig while drinking does not mean that i want to smoke on an every day basis.

it has been since october 2006 for me, and the longer i go the more i hate it.... it took me a month to really not think about it any more, i used hard candy to suck on, and i also gained 20 lbs (which usually is a side effect of getting healthy) after about 6 mos, my body went back to normal-but it took alittle work to watch what i was eating (i didnt work out too hard, did a little running but that was it.

in colorado we have a quit line and they do counceling sessions over the phone and they send you the patch for free.... you should see if there is any thing in your area like that

**i have not had one cigarette sober since october 2006**
Try just stopping don-t buy them and just quit it worked for me but I only smoked for 2 years. It seems hard but eventually the cravings will go away.
Good luck
well try a new habit, this time a healthier one.Stop smoking for a few days and sooner or later your will probably eventually stop smoking.
I congratulate all such persons who could quit smoking . I know how difficult it is to do so. I am glad that every day I find another is added to my list of non smokers.
You also can . Just vow not to smoke from this day . Pray and it works . Never give in so easily . Never get tempted even if friends request you just for once. When you decide to withdraw from smoking it has total and you have to punish yourself , rebuke yourself if you fail the first day or after the first week. Be confident , raise your mental ability with determination. If you can remain without smoking for just for a week , I bet , you are sure to be a -winner--. Don-t get tempted to oblige anyone at any party or on being offered by anyone.
I pray for you and I am sure , you will be able to give up smoking in no time. Gradual withdrawal technique hardly works. It has to be total withdrawal on and from a day onward.
God Bless.

What can I do for my boyfriend who just quit smoking? -

My boyfriend just quit smoking about 5 days ago. I-m very proud of him and want to be really supportive and help him with quitting. What are some things I can do for him to help motivate him/help him break the habit? He-s on Nicoderm CQ now. Thanks =]
Get him a supply of mint toothpicks, gum and hard candy. That way, whenever he feels the urge to light up, he can chew on a toothpick, chew a stick of gum gum or put a candy in his mouth. Those aren-t habit forming like tobacco is.

thats called the -smokers cough- when you smoke you just cough but if your comitted and your quitting it will go away soon... GOOD LUCK ON GOING CLEAN!
cough drops or gum or anything with menthol (not cigs of course). That might soothe the -soreness-.

So I-ve decided to quit smoking... but I want to do it without the patch or the gum. I-ve already started running when I feel the need to smoke, but I can-t do that during school. Are there any other hints about how to quit smoking without using the patch? I already know I-m going to be incredibly moody becuase I-ve tried doing this before, but I-m set on quitting this time.
It-s good that you have decided to quit young, the longer you leave it the harder it will be. I started smoking at 13 and am quitting now at the age of 21, when I think back I think it would have been much easier at 17.

Couldn-t you buy patches or something with the money you
have saved from not buying cigarettes? I use a product called Nicabate Lozenges, they are working great. It is hard to concentrate when you are quitting cold turkey and craving a smoke, this is a bit of a problem since you are at school. The first week is the worst...maybe you should try doing it when you have a week off school. Anyway, you could start by doing a google search, there are many tips and online support out there.

Let your friends know you are quitting so they go easy on you when you go a bit crazy, I-m sure they-ll understand. Anyway, good luck...just remember that cravings are only temporary and will eventually pass. The really strong cravings last about 5 minutes at a time, just try to do some deep breathing and relax during these times...easier said than done I know. There are so many tips I could go on all day, just look at some of the many websites on this topic.

Anyway, good luck...you won-t regret quitting. I feel a lot healthier after only one week without a smoke...and probably smell a lot nicer too lol.

Oh by the way, don-t replace cigarettes with candy or any other food for that matter...that is why so many people put on weight while quitting. If you want to quit smoking to improve your health eating a bunch of candy defeats the purpose...
I started smoking when I was 17, I-m now 66 and just quit last September 23 when I had a heart attack, caused by smoking.
I-m sorry I ever started, spent thousands of dollars on tobacco-quit now while you-re young.
Just think of the clothes you can buy with the money you save, you won-t smell of smoke when you meet a new guy. Take the money you would spend on a pack of cigarettes and put it in a jar or something, then splurge.

geri
Hey,
I think that you have to actually want to quit smoking. I-m 17 too. And I just quit smoking. I was smoking about a pack ever two days. Honestly, just think about what is in ciggs. Here are just some of the ingredients.

Ammonia: Household cleaner
Angelica root extract: Known to cause cancer in animals
Arsenic: Used in rat poisons
Benzene: Used in making dyes, synthetic rubber
Butane: Gas; used in lighter fluid
Carbon monoxide: Poisonous gas
Cadmium: Used in batteries
Cyanide: Deadly poison
DDT: A banned insecticide
Ethyl Furoate: Causes liver damage in animals
Lead: Poisonous in high doses
Formaldehiyde: Used to preserve dead specimens
Methoprene: Insecticide
Megastigmatrienone: Chemical naturally found in grapefruit juice
Maltitol: Sweetener for diabetics
Napthalene: Ingredient in mothballs
Methyl isocyanate: Its accidental release killed 2000 people in Bhopal, India in 1984
Polonium: Cancer-causing radioactive element

This and the fact that I need to be a good role model for my baby got me to quit. Good luck. You can do it.
I know you are against the patch and the gum, how about the pill?? Have you heard of Chantix? It is a stop smoking pill. I smoked 1 1/2 packs per day and was able to quit in 1 month. Most insurances will cover it, and if not it runs about $135 for a 1 month supply which pales in comparison to the cost of cigarettes!!

Hope this helps!!

You may want to check with local hospitals or clinics to see if they offer hypnosis to help quit smoking. A co-worker of mine was skeptical, but he tried it and after ONE SESSION he put the cigarettes down and hasn-t picked them up since. He-s been smoke-free for over three years. The good news is most health care coverage plans will cover most or all of the cost for hypnosis to quit smoking. Worth looking into.

I-m a smoker for 15 years - I-m only 28.
There is a machine - I don-t know what it-s called, where you smoke for one week - whenever you want, and you push a button and the computer records when you smoked.

Then next week, an alarm will go off periodically - when it does, you go smoke a cigarette whether you want one or not. It will decrease in frequency over time but keep the level of nicotine steady so there-s little or no withdrawal.

Also, change your habits - carry a pen in your hand, don-t hang out with your smoking friends at smoking places, break the habit portion of smoking as well.
I smoked up to 3 packs of Camel cigarettes a day for 25 years.
I quit in 1990 and haven-t had or wanted another one since.
The real answer is you absolutely have to make a choice that you will not change or break. Once that is made, make a plan, it doesn-t have to include a specific date to quit. I got the Nicorette gum 2 months in advance and decided one day to quit. I chewed the 2 weeks worth of gum in 3 days and switched to Juicy Fruit for the next three months.
it really isnt you that smokes its the ciggarett, I once quit cold turkey for 1 year . cold turkey is the best way in my opinion.
I started smoking at 15, I-m 30 now and I quit last September. I used the nicotene gum for a few months and it seemed to help.
Take a look at pictures of smokers- lungs. Visit a person dying of emphysema or lung cancer.
first start smoking lighter cigs.
after a week make it less in the number of the cigs u smoke a day.after a week make taht one day after the other and then stop smoking for ever.remember being with the freinds u smoked with or being in the places u used to smoke there can get u back to smoking.
The Lord delivered me of my addiction to cigarettes last Sept. I had smoked for 16 years.

to remove nicotine from your system, and I was doing fine and screwed it up.

How can I get this nicotine out of my system so I can start feeling better?

FAST!
Quit again. Iv-e quit now for ten months 2 of those using chantix which works great. I still have days i want one after all this time. It gets easier though.
Try to quit again. I don-t know about everyone else but i quit a month ago and i still get cravings. Although it is so much easier to say NO now. Try a gum or patch to overcome the Habit of smoking. It usually takes about three days for all nicotine to get out of your system and about three weeks before the chance of you lighting one up again reduces. Take it one day at a time.

Good Luck with it.
Smoking is a horrible habit. I quit a 2 pack a day habit using an electronic cigarette. They are amazing. The last time I had a traditional cigarette was an hour before I got my e-cig in the mail. I have not had the desire to smoke a traditional cigarette ever since. They don-t stink at all and you can smoke them indoors at bars and restaurants. I feel a million times better now. Here is a link to the company I buy from. They have one of the best reputations in the e-cig world and great prices. Good luck on your journey to a healthier you.

The nicotine will leave at its own pace, nothing you can do except to go through the withdrawal and remember not to slip again, since as you know it takes just one to bring back all the symptoms!

I know your supposed to stop when you up the dose, but that was a week ago for me and I-ve only dropped off a little bit. Has it taken anyone around a month or two, even longer?
Good Morning Kat,
firstly let me congratulate you on your decision to quit; however, whether on prescription medicine or OTC concoctions, it-s not the medicine or whatever else you decide to use to help you quit. It-s YOU! All of these things are merely a -help tool- but none of them, and I repeat, NONE of them will -do the trick- unless you are truly and absolutely ready to quit. I know, this is not the answer you expected nor wanted. But it-s the only way to stopping this nasty habbit. I have been a smoker for over 25 years and have tried quitting during different stages in my life. I am a cancer survivor and even then did I not manage to prevail :( For my father, who-s smoked for over 50 years (also a cancer patient) it took a lung disease (asbestosis) to finally lay down his smoking habbit. He quit overnight or -cold turkey- so to speak and I admire his strength and complete self contol, because that is what it takes to quit permanently. I am disabled after two very bad accidents, mostly bedridden now, and yet, I am still smoking, just can-t extinct that last cigarette :( What that means for you? It means that you have to be stronger willed and believe in yourself that you can, if fact, give it up. All these methods on the market are only tools, and in most instances sadly hoaks. There are many who believe in different methods but no matter which one of these you chose, the will to quit has to come from within you! Only you can make it work! You willpower is what can get you out of this devilish circle of voluntarily inhaling toxic fumes on a daily basis. The one thing we all do know for certain is that smoking is bad for you, even kills you. What a said truth, but nonetheless the truth!
I wish you the best of luck in beating this deadly addiction and hope that you succeed! And to all others whom read this, please, do yourself a favour, do whatever it takes but please put those nasty things down. Let-s be honest with ourselves, what we, the smokers, are doing is committing suicide. One day at a time, one cigarette at a time. I
I do advise you to join a self help group (you can find many of them online). All you really need is a strong will, however hard to achieve, yet your own will is the tool to quit forever! May God Bless you and help you overcome this and grant you a prosperous life!
Sincerely, MsB. :)

I am 15 and have been smoking for at least ax months. I can-t control myself. I-m so desperate that I either take some from my dad or find some in ashtrays and burn the filter. At first it was just up at my vacation home but now it-s everywhere. I have been secretly smoking without my parents knowing but now I-m worried. I love to sing and I don-t want to lose that.

unfortunately you are not old enough to purchase over the counter gum or patches, you have to be 18. I would suggest talking to your doctor when you go for a checkup - he isn-t allowed to tell your parents, so they wouldn-t find out unless he prescribes something. There are many behavioral things you can do... like having snacks instead of cigarettes to help with the oral craving of having a cigarette.
Hi Keti I started smoking at an age of 16-17 and got hooked on to it for 25 years. I tried many attempts to quit but nothing could work. Addiction of smoking is 300 times stronger compared to that of heroine or cocaine. To quit is difficult but is doable. I am myself now successfully away from smoking for last one year. I encourage you to quit, you can do it, you should have a desire to quit. I am a member also of an online yahoo health group, namely kickbutts-nosmoking, where I get free support to continue my quit. You may join this or some similar online group at your wish. Love and hugs. Wishing you a smokefree life - MK from India
You can try champix. It does wonders. Two of my friends that had terrible problems in quitting cigars managed to do it almost instantly with champix.
I hope that other teens who want to smoke read this. You can try Nicorette gum. It helps many people. I am very sorry that you are addicted to this filthy habit.

A friend quit smoking and now she feels bloated? -

A friend of mine recently quit smoking, and now she claims her stomach is bloated a lot.. is this normal? does it have to do with the fact that shes not smoking anymore? if so, why?
Her body is trying to get rid of the poison she was ingesting through smoking.
She can try drinking green tea to help flush her system. It takes a few months to recover but she will feel so much better if she hangs in there.
Getting out in the fresh air by walking will help also.

I-m ready to quit smoking for good. I hate the fact that I smoke and it-s humiliating to me that I have to have a cigarette. I also want to be healthier. What steps did you take to successfully quit smoking?
Yhe best way is cold turkey@!!! I know it is hard for the first 3 days and the urges get easier. But I drank alot of water and increased my B vitamins and this helped. All the patches and what not suck and cost alot if you really want to you can do it! You have to have Discipline about the urges Don-t do it,You can make it.. A Freind.
hi AIM+E..

well there are a bunch of ways to quit smoking.. some work for some folks, others need to try other steps, nicotine Replacement therapy,(patches, gum, etc) works for many.. still others swear by pharmaceuticals.. the point is that really is no wrong way quit.. good luck on your decision!!!

myself after numerous attempts to achieve freedom, using virtually every method, i found recovery through the fellowship, and meetings of nicotine anonymous.. meetings are available in many areas, as well as a number of meetings on the internet.. i attend both.. i now have over 5 years of freedom from any nicotine, and credit my participation with my friends, as the decisive factor .. again there is really no wrong way to quit.. i wish you luck!!!

I-ve been quit for 13 days now, and OMG, I still want one something terrible! I quit cold turkey, but after 7 days my friend gave me a trial pack of Chantex, and it does help with the cravings during the day, but during stressful situations, I just want to light up, but so far, I just pace, a lot! I don-t know if this helps, but if I were you, I would ask the doctor for Chantex, don-t try the cold turkey thing, especially if you have kids!
Counseling with medication helped me quit smoking. I am really thankful to the counselors who have done a nice job in making me quit smoking. You need find out your own best way to quit smoking

Just stop. My teacher and my uncle and his 2 kids did this. They just stopped. Use your willpower and just stop. Don-t do the -I-ll only have 5 a day for 1 week. Then I-ll only have 3 a day....- Don-t. It-s less painful, and costly, to just stop. Prove to everyone that you are strong and that you can do it. Just try real hard. I believe you can. *sorry if this gets offensive here.... God wants you to stop and He can help you. Believe in Him. Pray to Him, ask Him to help you quit.

I am praying for you Linda.

Best of luck,
Lily
First, make a firm resolve that you really want to quit smoking and get your life back and then get all your friends in the loop and ask them to help you out.

Second: Avoid smokers zone for atleast 1 month. Do not accept cigarettes from anyone

Third: Stock your refrigerator with monthly groceries, fruits and natural juices.

Fourth: Pay off all your monthly bills. Then destroy your debit and credit cards. Inform the bank that your purse is stolen and hence you wanna block the cards, so that they can issue new ones. Destroying your cards would mean that you wont be abel to succumb to the temptation to smoke another one, since you wont have any money and there wont be an easy way to take money out of your bank.

Finally:

Now, for the month. You cannot buy cigarettes if you dont have any money. You would look for alternate sources to satisfy your cravings. So go to the refrigerator, take out an apple and eat it slowly. That would give your hands and mouth something to do.

The urge to smoke or cravings only last for10 to 15 minutes only, So make sure that you eat the apple slowly fully relishing its taste, which makes the cravings go away and at the same time, makes your healthy

Secondly, drink orange juice to clear your system from nictine. Orange is a natural anticarcenogenic drink and it will help in detoxifying your nicotine levels in your blood.

End of the month, your cravings would be gone. This is how I quit smoking. Believe me, it works.

Just a simple illustration:

If you hold a tree trunk, stick to it and complain that the tree does not let you go, the answer is that it wont.
You are the one holding the tree trunk and you have to it go to free yourself.

Got a little nostalgic but try my advice. It really works.
good question.

im a smoker for 4 years now so unlike alot of people i know how hard it is to quit specially if your a woman. a man can quit instantly.

anyway the best advice i can tell you if throw that box away and never pick up another cig. i went from smoking a pack a day to just smoking 1 or 2 cigs a day THATS it. basicly its all in the mind. if you really really want to quit you can. as for me i think im doing well eventually i will stop

ive been thinking about seeing a hypnotizer person i heard that works you should try it.
I stopped smoking 45 years ago, I still get a longing for my pipe sometimes, this is how i did it, i had a packet of cigs in my pocket and I started first thing in morning in stead of having a cig i promised myself one at my tea break, when i got to tea break i decide to try for lunch break before having a smoke, when i got there i thought lets try for afternoon tea break,i made it so i decide to wait until i got home, all the time i had the safety net of a cig in my pocket if i wanted one.
I managed this for 3 days and then i lit a cig,,, 2 puffs and i thought what am i doing i have just wasted 3 days so i put it out . i continued extending my non smoking time until suddenly i realized i had not thought about a cig for a few days . it may not work for you it did for me so give it a try. remember you are only putting of your smoke until you reach your set target, then you extend it, if you fail you carry on setting targets and trying to reach them. do not aim to far ahead each time then you will find you will soon be extending this without trying
GOOD LUCK
Try chewing that special gum to help you stop or just plain stop doing it. If u think about smoking do something to distract u.

I added up that my husband and I spend on average $160 a month on cigarettes and that-s only if he smokes one pack a day and usually he smokes 2 to 2 1/2 packs a day. I have three toddlers at home and I stay at home full time, I am so very stressed out but I want to quit. Please anyone with ideas or suggestions or who has gone through this and quit successfully, I would greatly appreciate words of encouragement and/or support that has help u through this.
Contact the American Cancer Society; your local hospital; American Lung Association; or any advertised Quit group. I quit cold turkey 25 years ago, and have led Quit groups. Talk with your family doctor, as he can give you a prescription for the patch, lozenges, or Wellbutrin. You are lucky that there are so many Quit aids available. You MUST declare your home a smoke free zone because of the 3 children. If you Must have a cigarette, go outside. Pick a quit date within the next 2 weeks, and get ready to be free of the habit. When you want a cigarette, take several deep breaths, take a quick walk around the block, drink 1-2 full glasses of water, or retreat to a quiet place and use relaxation methods for just a few minutes. Don-t worry about your husband-s habit--take care of yourself. It can be done, and MUST be a priority for you. Good Luck....
d magic word?

-nicotine patches-

go get them.........

n- best of luck!!!!!!
Love yourself!
Smoking is self-destruction, self-punishment, and any other self-inflicted damage.
You know well smoking destroys your health a puff at a time; using -stupid logic (obvious facts)- ; every puff punishes you for your or your loved ones- mistakes, remorses, failures, frustrations, and so on. Doesn-t it feel good and relief to be punished for your bad actions, get rid of that load in your concience, and feel that you pay for your mistakes (-- sins? --)?
Nicotine is poisonous for may species (e.g., insects, fungi, etc.) and addictive to humans; but it is as addictive as it is food, work, exercise, video games, pain killers and anything that makes you feel good, relief, successful and so on.
Learn to really love yourself, TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF and you will see life worth of living for and also you will enjoy even more all of your efforts (failures and successes)and the processes (time period) you put your efforts to.
Once you learn to love yourself, you will love even more the ones you love and teach them to learn to love themselves.
The rest of your life is yours to live happily. Cure your mind (heart) and you can cure your body a lot easier.
Do you remember: -do unto others...-?
Can you love others if you don-t know how to love yourself?
The addiction to smoking is all in your head. Your kids and finances are the main priority in your life right now so tell ure head to shut the @$%@ up when u think about smoking and move on. Trust me its simple.
Try buying the nicotine patch, gum, or any other products you can discover. No, I have never smoked in my life, but I know people who have and desperatley want to quit. If you get stressed out and feel like you need a ciggarette, try taking out your stress on other things, like taking a nap, taking a bath, relaxing. Think about your future, and your kid-s health and well being to keep you motivated. Don-t give up, it will be worth the work!
Everytime you pull out a cigarette, before it reaches your lips, think of your kids having to inhale your second hand smoke which is more harmful.

Cold turkey for a couple of weeks using the above method and you should be off the urge.
Your husband should do the same else with the box of ciagarettes lying around the house, it makes it easier for you to pick up one and more difficult to fight the temptation.
there could be any number of people here who had -successfully - done it any number of times. seriously , I am not a smoker.
I think one way is to slowly reduce the number of cigarettes you smoke daily.
reduce the quantity. another way to do this is by limiting the inhalations per cigarette. ( cheap trick , but it might work. like take 2 inhalations , put out the thing and keep it for later ? only at your home and in private. eh?)
try the usual things first, patches, gum etc,try to move the addiction (eg coffee) if you are in the Uk i know for a fact there are licenced people who can hyptize you in to not wanting to after just one session. good luck -x-
If alternative methods do not work for you,try cutting back little by little. I stopped by getting away from others that smoked at work. I chewed gum when the urged came. I smoked 2 packs a day down to 1 pack a week. I sometimes stop for weeks, but stress at work sometimes gets me going.
Try and stop for your children, think of the future of their health. If that doesn-t stop you nothing will.
I can help you with this i think, try your best not to smoke in a day throw away all your cigarettes and dont try to hide them either.Lol.im just joking, but you do that and it should work try for a week and you should be able to stop in no time.
get to the store and spend the money that you would have spent on killing yourself on some patches,,if not for you then do it for your kids,,I did it,,good luck

How do you quit smoking? -

I don-t smoke. But I know someone who smokes very often (a relative). And I told her that smoking is bad but she won-t understand. Yes I know that smoking is very hard to quit, but it-s possible. Any ways I can help her?
If she does-nt want to quit smoking it will be impossible to force her. Maybe you could give her some statistics showing how deadly it can be to help change her mind. Good Luck ! This site has some info that may help
try the patch
umm.........its her dicision dude so stop buggin
Everyone must come to that decision by themselves. Nothing you can do so don-t try, you-ll only look pushy.
Encourage her but stop telling her how bad it is for her.

My husband quit once for a while, started up again because he was hanging out with too many people that smoked. He did a church remedy.

A big glass of orange juice with a teaspoon of cream of tartar in it. Lots of vitamin C. And carr yaround a trial/travel size of scope. Anytime there is a crave for a cigareete, rinse and spit. This works very well.

YOu can also hang out at places where no smoking is aloud so her smoking is cut down a bit when you are around. little things like that can help. The less they smoke, the easier it is to quit smoking.
when the cigarette gets to the butt, stop smoking it.... it-s that easy
If she wants to quite, i was told that the best thing to do is drink water all the time. It helps to cleanse the body of all the toxins and also gives you somthing to do when you have a craving. Bottled water everywhere you go, thats the answer.
I used the patch, and so far so good. I have learned that not until I wanted to quit, did I quit. I tried quitting for my husband and family but it never happened. Then I decided that I would quit, and I did. Good luck.
I did it with my doctors help. He gave me Wellbutrin and it worked really well. But you have to really want to quit
She will never stop just cause YOU want her too, and I-m sure she already knows exactly how bad it is for her but doesn-t really care enough to quit. She-ll quit when SHE wants. When she gets tired of not being able to breath very good or coughing a lot in the mornings. Until then there-s nothing you can do about it.
PS-my Grandma lived to be 87 and smoked and drank. She eventually died from complications of having surgery for breast cancer. I admit she was a lucky smoker
If she-s not ready to quit, then there-s really nothing you can do. I just quit smoking on Memorial Day weekend, and I assure you it was because I wanted to quit on my own. I-d heard all the nagging - lectures, and nobody was telling me anything I didn-t already know. They could talk -til they were blue in the face, and I-d just turn my deaf ear to them. I understood what the consequences were. But I needed to acquire that inner resolve to be able to do it on my own. I finally accomplished it when I got really sick - tired of all the bronchitis, wheezing, low energy, etc. I had to tell myself -Enough is enough!- because I was too stubborn to listen to anyone else.

I have a feeling your relative understands. But please understand it-s a very difficult habit to break. She-ll quit when she-s ready. If not, then if it bothers you, set boundaries for when you-re together (for example, you can ask her to not smoke inside your home).
u cant because she is not willing to stop.if she means that u can use nicotine gums which makes like a substitution of it to smokers.so to make her, herself quit this try to show pictures of people already effected and organs effected by smoking u can make her really think about this.
The patch has worked on many ppl I know, those who didnt use it died from smoking.
the patches and nicotine gums can be very effective..but she has to want to quit first.
No, its like any other addiction. They will only quit when they want to. You need to learn to love and accept that person for who they are and not -Down- on them because they do something you don-t approve of. We are a society built on judging each other so badly. Everyone has some sort of problem they are attributed to in one form or another. Just relax and go with the flow, you will live alot longer and more productive life that way!
You can-t change anybody. They will never going to stop.
Have them try the nicorette gum
perseverance
Quit cold turkey. I did and I have not smoked for 4 years. Find something to keep busy so you don-t think about smoking. It-s dumb but I did Jig Saw puzzles a lot!
the gum has really helped my aunt
I quit 26 years ago after smoking for 13 years...was up to 2 1/2 packs a day. The method I chose was to wait one urge for a cigarette...then wait two urges..then wait three urges...ect. Eventually, (about 30 days), I was down to the decision of buying one more pack or not. Went to the store, the grocer said -the-re all good-...I have not bought or smoked a cigarette since AUG 80-.
What tilted the balance was to make the decision I wanted to quit..then asked God for the strength to do so...I have to give God the credit.
Exercise, and once you-ll realize how important it is to breathe when you can-t you-ll wanna stop. Seriously
Don-t smoke. It is the only way.
You cant, she has to want to quit herself
But you could show her pitures of what her organs will look loke after many years of smoking
Nope, quite honestly there-s not a darn thing you can do, they will quit IF THEY want to, not because YOU want them to.
Don-t light cigarettes.
well i think that you should try not seeing anybody smoke so u want think about smoking don-t u think then u will quit and it will be all over by then
You can only encourage her but she needs to be the one who wants to stop smoking. If you can convince her that she thinks its bad and wants to stop then you can work with her on ways to quit. I know hypnosis has worked on a few people I know.

I have offically quit smoking pot (forever) did you have crazy vivid dreams after you quit? -

Its been a month now and every night without fail i have these really crazy dreams, i mean really crazy. Am I alone?
No you are not alone. It-s totally normal to have crazy dreams after you stop smoking pot if you have been an active smoker for a long time. Your brain is having to rewire itself in a way. When you smoke pot you slow down and kill brain cells and the natural sequences that occur within the brain. When you stop the brain starts working harder, especially when you sleep to get back into a normal pattern and it causes you to have crazy dreams. They slowly go away and eventually you will sleep a good nights sleep. Your brain is able to think again and it does it-s best thinking and recovering while you are asleep. Bravo for your quitting smoking pot!
why did you quit??
i didnt but tthat was like 4 yrs again
You bet your az your alone. You just left the community without saying goodbye? And we thought we could rely on you.
yes i just gave up smoking pot myself after 14 years and i dont have any weird dreams or crazy ones either its just in your head. your dreams are not from not smoking pot its from something else
it-s a major life change, the same thing happened to me when i quit, then again when i quit cigarettes, and then when i went cold turkey off of pain killers. next, when i kicked the heroin, cocaine, and lsd use, and again when i quit smoking crack. i guess i can expect more of the same when i quit drinking
nope
