What is the easiest way to quit smoking? -

I am pleased to announce...I have been smoke free for 2 years, 1 months and 15 days! I was a pack a day smoker, (a chain smoker if at a party) for 25 years. I quit cold turkey! I used to purchase cigarette-s by the carton. One day I decided the carton I had just bought, would be my last. (It took me 3 days to smoke the very last pack). As I was smoking the carton...I would make myself -taste- the cigarette upon inhaling and exhaling. I would make a mental note of the -poison taste- I was able to pick up. I kept looking at other smokers in their cars, etc...and would say to myself...-look at them putting all that poision into their bodies, they are allowing themselves to die eariler-. Then, I finially got to my -last- cigarette...I got a -red- index card and wrote on it, with a black sharpie, -I AM A NON-SMOKER-...-POISION-...-MY LAST EXHALE OF THIS POISION-...__/__/__(date)...__:__p.m.(ti… Then, I made myself -hot box- the last one. I smoked it fast, made myself taste it, and kept saying to myself with every inhale...-this is poision-. After I finished, my lips were on fire...the taste in my mouth was discusting! I took the butt and ashes, dumped it all into a ziplock -snack- baggie and inserted the red index card, and zipped it up. I kept the -package of nasty- with me everywhere I went. If I was washing TV, I sat it next to it so I could keep a visual. If I got an -urge-...I just opened the baggie and took a wiff...I did that only once...that was all it took. I have had ZERO withdraws...no urges, at all! I feel fantastic. I know I will NEVER smoke again. It-s funny what it does to you when you become a non-smoker...I can-t stand to be around anyone who smokes, the smell turns my stomach. My taste, smell, breathing, and chest feels as if I never smoked! And, that nasty phlegm...I-ve never had it since. My best guy friend tried my idea...he-s been smoke free for 1 and 1/2 years! You don-t need all those other things...save your money and try my idea...it-s free. Let me know and GOOD LUCK! You can do it...it-s just a mind game...
I would say it depends on every individual. but mostly it-s about breaking habits (places and times where and when you usually smoked before) and keeping yourself busy. find new hobbies, try not to replace smoking for food, use nicotine patches or chewing gums. experiment a bit, see what works best for you. and be ready for what comes after you quit. the hardest part I would say is the first week. and after that every day is easier but it-s not normal for a long time. it is hard that is why not everybody can do it. I hope you find the strenght to drop this addiction. once you do you see how rewarding it is
Try the Nicorette patches/gums/lozenges. Do that in the steps. It should ease you out of your cravings.
There are other options for easing out of your habit. You can ask a doctor for a pill. (I actually know someone that quit smoking by taking this pill that used to be all over the tv commercials....but I forgot the name. Anywho, he said it worked!)
You could always go cold turkey, but I don-t recommend that. It might drive you crazy and lead to chain smoking.

Either way, best of luck.
