Well, that is true, the blood vessels are constricted from frequent nicotene use. My opinion would be to quit smoking as fast as you can before hand, you could easily die of complications from smoking after the operation. One of the things that would most likely happen if you went through that procedure while you still smoked or recently (within a day or two) stopped smoking is cardiac arrest. This can happen in people who constantly loose/ gain weight in short time spans, but the smoke puts enough pressure on your heart to cause it to fail in the event of a simple operation such as this.
I-m not a doctor, but I would put your chances at less than 30% of having some sort of symptoms afterward that are directly related to the smoking.
I read something that said after about 6 months your chances of caner decrease by half of that if you still smoked, and that fact in mind would be enough to make me quit!
You should deffinatly try to quite smoking, i know its soooo hard chantrex is suppose to work great.. Even if you get a mean look from the doc you can still ask him what meds you can take but i dont think there are any. My friend had a breast reduction an continued to smoke and her breasts didint heal properly, where the cuts were she had holes because the skin wasnt reproducing skin it was gross and now she has horrible scars. Im a smoker and i understand how hard it is to quit but you need to think about your body an how it will look if it doesnt heal properly. Atleast try cutting down to half the amount you smoke now.. that will greatly reduce the risk of it healing improperly. GL an congrats on the smaller tummy!
While all the anti-smoking zealots will tell you how horrible it is, think of it this way - smokers had surgery for years and healed just fine. Why is it any different now?
Sure, not smoking *might* make a slight difference in the healing process, but it-s certainly not going to be that big a deal.
Smoking can cause medical complications when it comes to surgery... and tummy tuck is a pretty intense surgery. Seriously talk to your doctor about it
you will die of cancer before anyone gets to see that nice flat tummy
were are u getting ur tummy tuck? or got it? I want to do it too.
