Is there a way to quit smoking WITHOUT packing on the pounds? -

I-ve quit a few times, but everytime I quit, I gain a lot of weight.
Cigarettes raise your metabolism. If you start exercising while you-re quitting, you can keep your metabolism at the -pre-quitting- levels, and not gain weight.

Good luck!
Yeah, start running at the same time.....I guarentee that you will quit if you form a more positive habit to get yourself out of a negative one. other times carry gum.
consult a therapist.behavior modification techniques like aversion therapy would make you feel aversion towards smoking.
It-s not really quitting then if you started it again...

Anyways, you will be substituting the nicotine with food so of course you-ll gain more weight. Since you smoked, I-m sure your lung doesn-t work as well as you may think...so it will be hard to exercise for a long time as well.

If you want to do it in a hard way, which won-t gain that much weight is to quit smoking, don-t eat so much and do exercise. You-ll be cranky as hell...but you won-t gain weight as much.

If you want to do it in a easy way, which you-ll gain some weight, you-ll quit smoking, eat what you want and don-t do exercise. You will probably be still cranky because you are gaining weight and you are not getting any nicotine. But you-ll be at least be happy to not do so much exercise and you can eat what you want.

Both of them needs -patience-, a lot of it! Good luck and take care. I hope you-ll be able to pull it off soon!
heck no, it is either go out with lung cancer, or with a heart attack for being obeast (lol)
yes.... jog for 30 mintutes every morning or evening, 5 days a week
How about chewing gum or snacking on healthy snacks like veggies and a low cal dip, or sugar free jello. I am sure some of it is simply self-control though. I don-t smoke but I have cousin who has tried numerous times to stop. She often has some special gum with her that is suppose to minimize the cravings. Good luck ... It may seem like an impossible task but you are stronger than the addiction - never forget that.
Drink alot of H2O.
dont snack in replacement for the smokes-in fact when you get a craving-exercise till your out of breath-you-ll realize what smoking has done to your body and see the difference days with no smoke do.
You should try to eat carrots! They are supposed to help when you have cravings and to help it along, try to work out once and a while, like 20 minutes a day. :)
i did it you can, i lost 30 pounds in like 4 months when i quit smoking, i just drank alot of water, you want something to eat when you quit smoking, when i would get that hungry feeling i would just chug alot of water and it would go away for awhile
