I want to quit smoking and loose weight what should I do first? -
IM NOT SURE IF I SHOULD QUIT SMOKING FIRST OR DIET, I THINK IT WOULD BE TO HARD TO DO BOTH AT THE SAME TIME. I WANT TO LOOSE 20-30LBS.
First, you should change the habits that caused you to be at your current weight. Don-t do it through some special diet program that you will not be able to follow for years. The truth is that, for most people, your current weight is a result of the ratio of Caloric intake and Excercise. The best way to lose weight long term is to fix your diet and exercise more. Once your body has accepted your new diet and the cravings for the bad foods has become very manageable, you can work on quitting smoking. Quitting smoking, like losing weight is mostly a psychological battle. It is a war between your will power and the bad habits that you have developed over the years. The bottom line is that you CAN accomplish both goals only if you take control of your life and put an end to the habits that put you in your current situation. Ofcourse it will not be easy. If it were, everybody would be fit and thin.
loose weight first!!
first start excercising and when you start to see the pounds shed you-ll feel better about yourself and start to quit smoking and then you-ll feel great. no pills just vitamins and fruits things that are good for you!
Both at the same time the excercise will help you stay off the smokes.
Drink lots of water though and shower to remove the toxins off your skin.
Sweating will help you to.
And remember smoking is like carrying around an extra 75 pounds of weight ( as stress to yur heart)
You can do it.
Dont be discourage dif you put on a few pounds you will get it off.
Just get that smoking monkey off your back and keep at the excercise and healthy eating.
Gum helps too, sugarless.
loose weight first ,to give up smoking is to traumatic ,that will be easier in a weak thin condition
quit smoking first..and dont sweat the extra weight gain cause you will feel much better and can start exercising next
Discipline, lots of discipline, First get rid of I THINK IT WOULD be HARD....mentality, if you are going to think, think of how, not how hard!
STOP SMOKING, [exercising is easier without a cigarette] then start exercising with small amounts of exercise increasing daily, ex: walk a block then 2 blocks and so on, but do it, walk, run, do aerobics, what ever just do it, start slow, work your way up.
Good luck, God bless.
i would start loosing weight first because exercisiong would be harder when your trying to quit smoking.
thats what i think
smoking, definitely my mom smokes and she affects all the people around her by it your weight is only affecting you but u can try losing wait a while after you quit smoking
your right it is hard. alot of times people smoke because they have an oral fixation and when there-s no cigarrettes food is an easy substitute. i-m trying to quit and lose also, haven-t found anything that works. chewing gum helps but not enough. i heard some of the patches will make you sick if you wear them and continue to smoke. i thought maybe it would help both ways cause if i associate smoking with puking it-ll be easier to quit plus i-ll get rid of all the crap i just binged on. by the way, not being serious here, just joking around about it but we did have this conversation at work awhile back.
