Is it bad to quit smoking cold turkey while you have a severe chest cold? -

A doctor told my fiance that right now would not be the best time to quit smoking because he has a bad chest cold. It had something to do with the small hair on the lungs and that id he quits smoking it will make his chest cold worse
The best time for anyone to stop smoking is right now! But some times are more difficult than others. A cold can help, because it often decereases the desire to smoke.
If your fiance feels like stopping, I would encourage him. If he drinks lots of freshly squeezed orange juice, this will help him to stop smoking and at the same time reduce his chest cold.
yes. smoking deposits tars in the lungs, which can annoy your bronchials. quitting during a cold can do nothing but good for your fiance as he recovers from his cold. it would remove a major irratant from the mix, and do wonders for his recovery.
No definitely not.
D.
well lets put it this way when i had a severe chest cold i quit smoking cold turkey because it hurt to much to light up. as soon as i did i put it out beacuse the first drag i took in it hurt real bad so you will have no problem quitting cold turkey. but after about 4-5 days when you start to feel better i would try and light up again and if it does not hurt continue smoking i do.
I sure would like to meet the Doctor who told him that. Smoking will worsen a chest cold, he comes up with some creative ideas why he does not want to quit smoking. Give me a break and tell him he better get real (quoting Dr. Phil)
it was because of a very bad chest cold that finally got me to quit, it-s never a bad time to quit smoking. Would you rather your fiance have a worse cold now or lung cancer later? quit, quit , quit.
