I think this is one of your best decisions. You must know what are the advantages of quitting:

This will keep you motivated throughout. My friend was chain smoker and he quit. He use to say, just be mentally strong and you can do it. Here are some tips that helped him:

Hi Katie
congratulations on your decision to quit.. its a biggie!!! as a matter of fact some folks do have success with both products.. these are generic products, often termed nrt-s (nicotine replacement therapy) most questions can be answered with the manufactures directions or the pharmacist at the store.. there is no wrong way to quit, its an individual thing..
statistics have shown that regardless of the method, participation in a support group greatly improves your chance of quitting.. myself after smoking for over 40 years, i have been quit now for over 5, and i give the credit to my participation, in a support group..
i attend Nicotine Anonymous meetings both locally, and on line.. on line voice meetings, are as close as your computer, and you are welcome to attend before attempting a quit..
Nicotine Anonymous is a Non-Profit 12 Step Fellowship of men and women helping each other live nicotine-free lives. Nicotine Anonymous welcomes all those seeking freedom from nicotine addiction, including those using cessation programs and nicotine withdrawal aids. The primary purpose of Nicotine Anonymous is to help all those who would like to cease using tobacco and nicotine products in any form. The Fellowship offers group support and recovery using the 12 Steps as adapted from Alcoholics Anonymous to achieve abstinence from nicotine.
I heard using both at the same time is good. But how about, when you really need a fag, think about the fact that it causes serious illnesses and early death, and think of your family and how you would rather be with them than be dead. You will regret it later if you don-t stop it now.
