Any tips on how to quit smoking...? -
i have been smoking for like two years now, i really think that it is gross and i want to quit. i say that im going to quit but then an hour or two later, im right back to smoking again. it stinks and it makes me feel really unattractive. got any ideas on how to make it a little bit easier?
I too am trying to quit smoking. I was smoking full flavor 100-s and smoking about 1 1/2 packs a day. I have lowered to lights shorts and smoking now only about a 1/2 pack a day. My suggestion would be not to grab a cig as soon as you get up in the morning and everytime you eat. Try not to pick one up just because your bored or think you need one. Wait until you just can-t take it any more and you HAVE to have one. Pay attention to how often you smoke. If you just had a cigarette 30 minutes ago, make yourself wait another 30 minutes. Also, set a goal that by a certain day you will be a non-smoker. And write down the reasons that you want to quit. Post the goals and reasons on the fridge or somewhere that will remind you constantly why you are doing it. Good luck sweety! You can do it!
God I sure wish I knew! Ive tried everything from the patch, to gum, to red licorich, to sugar free mints, to wellbutrin- a pill that is SUPPOSSED to help u quit. I think its a state of mind. If we REALLY want to do it we can do it. My problem is I dont really want too! Good luck to u!
Get a heart attache, stay in the intensive care unit for several days, and than be told that it is a question of either - or. That did it for me !
i gave up smoking 11 weeks ago (after 15 yrs of smoking)and i used willpower and sheer determination and loads of sugar free chewing gum!. i think i wanted to prove to everyone that i could do it (coz they laughed when i said i was giving up) and that made me strong enough to do it, as id tried it several times before but like you started again after a few hours. Also i kept looking at people who smoked and saw how old and wrinkly their faces looked and thought oh god ill look like that soon (im 29) also the obvious reasons to quit are money and health and its against the law to smoke in public places in scotland now so its difficult to get a decent smoke anywhere lol anyway hope this helps and good luck i really hope u quit for good!

Using the -patch- is the most effective. But you still need will power.

Try and stay away from people who smoke, if a friend wants to quit to it maybe easier.
You could try nicotene patches, or umm I can-t think what it-s called, it-s like smoking a fag but it isn-t, niquitin summet I think.
My bf keeps trying to quit, he has cut down, by rolling his own instead of buying packs.

There is many way to do that. First put in your mind what u want, look your own self without smoking, and put that image in your head, smoke your last cigarretein the night, and then put in your head the next day u dont want to smoke. In the next day DONT SMOKE ANYTHING, none, 0, off, destyroy, u got the meaning? after one or two days u will be better, the matter its just two days, after that if you smoke the cigarret will have a bad flavor, and u will dont want to smoke againg, i do this and works, i have 7 years smoking, and i can leave it.
Try to have some candys or chewing gum, is u have a desperate need to smoke, go away and think it twice. Dont be in the part where other people smoke
get the mints or the gum it tasted good
and have sex 5 times a week
