Easy ways to quit smoking? -

Other then cold turkey which gives me headaches and insomnia for a month!
Your hair will smell good and so will your clothing.
Believe it or not people around you can smell it.
Do you smoke in the car, inside or outside after meals, before meals etc..?
Whenever you usually smoke begin to start to cut out those times and replace them with slowly with other things.
For example if you smoke in the car cut that out.
If in the house stop that.
If you smoke after a meal no longer do.
Just one step at a time for each little habitual thing you have been doing to pick up a cigarette.
If you do it out of boredom sometimes try to think of something you can do to take up that time instead of picking up the cigarette.
If it is a social thing perhaps you can try to pick up a cup of water or coffee or juice instead and start downing that instead.
It is an oral fixation and you need to keep the mouth busy.
Something i try to do sometimes is actually put the cigarette in my mouth but not smoke it at a time when i usually would or even go for a quick but short walk.
If you are having major headaches and problems with sleep this could be withdrawal symptoms and you might want to discuss an option with your doctor about giving you a pill that will help with cravings.
This medicine is only taken for a short time and will help you to prevent cravings and if you smoke you will have a distaste for them and eventually not even want one.

Some people cannot quit cold turkey and others can.
Brushing your teeth regularly helps also right after you smoke or again when you want to smoke. Again something to take care of the oral fixation. Pick up a hobby. I picked up dancing. Perhaps you have a craft and if you not find something you enjoy or have always wished to do and just GO FOR IT! You might be surprised at how quickly you end up getting involved and forget all about smoking.
Good luck and don-t be hard on yourself if you pick up one along the way. After a time you will think it tastes gross.
Oh one more thing. Pick up a brand you normally would not smoke that is nasty. That is a way i kind of started to have a distaste for them. Some of those brands will make you sick enough not to even want one anymore! LOL
Things to Keep in Mind to get Ready

Day 1
-I will not smoke today-...never longer than today

Day 2
Remember that better days are ahead, Eventually it will get better and easier…

Day 3
experience these symptoms at peak levels in the initial 3 -5 days after you quit

Day 4

There is no such thing as just one cigarette.

distracting yourself for as little as 5 minutes is enough to snap you out of faulty thinking and get you moving forward with a better mindset.

Keep your memory green and don-t lose sight of the reasons you quit smoking.

Day 5
Nurture and protect your quit program because it-s the path to a healthier and happier you.

If you absolutely cannot get thoughts of smoking out of your mind and you fear you-re about to cave in and smoke, stop everything. Grab some paper and a pen, sit down, and answer the questions below with honesty and as much detail as you can muster.
? Why did I quit smoking? HEALTH _ ENERGY _ EFFICIENCY
? How long did I smoke? 10 years
? How long have I been smoke-free? 5 days
? How long do I think it should take to be free of this habit? 1 month
? If I go back to smoking, will I want to quit again? YES
? How long will it be before I do? Weeks...months...years? When illness strikes?

? Will quitting be any easier next time around? NOT SURE
? What benefits will smoking give me? BAD BREATH- BAD HEALTH- YELLOW TEETH- AND MUCH MUCH MORE!!!
? Is it worth giving up what I-ve worked so hard to do? NO!!!

Day 6
You can quit. In fact, one million Americans quit smoking every year, and almost 50 million Americans are former smokers.

Type out your feeling : ..............

Day 7
-So what if these ideas or excuses come into my mind? In the first week or two --of course they will. So I will expect them - and not make a big fuss of them. Soon they will be gone forever.....-
These questions, doubts and excuses - no matter how many times they cross your mind ARE NOT IMPORTANT - WHAT IS IMPORTANT, like the craving to smoke IS HOW YOU RESPOND TO THEM.

Day 8
-Maybe I should just have one - or maybe I got it all wrong - I don-t have to give up at all - all I really need to do is just cut down a little.-
I have made a decision.
I AM a non-smoker. I am not going to smoke again
as your mind is made up and any doubts or excuses would be just wasting their time!-
It is they who trigger off and energize our psychological addiction to smoking, i.e. our deeply-held belief that it is enjoyable and that life will be intolerable if we stop.

Day 9
Its so much easier now. Just have to focus and in 2 weeks the craving should be gone. Relax, dont stress out. If you do, drink water and chew gum
keep busy busy busy
chantix expensive but really works as long as you really want to quit smoking
there is no easy way to quit just do it. i did it cold turkey it been 3 yrs
start chewing
