What is the best way to quit smoking? -

WHY SMOKING IS TOUGH TO QUIT
============== ==============
Smoking is very tough to quit because it doesn-t only test your Will power but it makes your biologically addicted. It is not just a bad habit, but it is something you are bound with and will require either an extreme will power (which if you had, you might have left smoking far ago) or something that can replace that habit.

HOW TO QUIT SMOKING PERMANENTLY ?
================== =================
The only feasible way to quit a bad habit or addiction is to replace it with another addiction (This is what rehabilitation centers do to drug addicts)
You can quit smoking by replacing cigarettes with some non harmful product which is easier to quit later due to its lack of biological addiction.
E-Cigarettes are a good option, Chewing gum is sometimes helpful but not always and is harmful if consumed in large quantity.

If you are strong willed, decide not to smoke. Take a pledge not to smoke and follow it and follow it strictly.
Alternately, avoid smoking (without taking any pledge). Gradually bring down the number. Smoke only when offered by some one(don-t spend any money on it). Don-t offer cigarettes to others. and you will soon find others avoid offering cigarettes to you. If you take a pledge and break it, you will feel guilty. If you don-t take the pledge but make a conscious effort to reduce it and stop it, there is better chance of success.
If you find these methods difficult to practice, and if you are still determined to stop smoking, take the help of any counselling centre.
I used to smoke for about 5 years and now smoke free for 2 years. I went cold turkey and took it one day at a time from there. You have to constantly motivate yourself to quit and keep telling your self if I don-t quit now it-s just going to get harder. After the first month or so which is going to be very difficult the cravings are not as bad and continue to fight off the urges. I-m not going to lie it-s been a little over 2 years now and I still have urges sometimes but I fight it off.
Good Luck.
