Should i quit smoking cigarettes? -
so i-ve been smoking cigarettes for the past 4 years and around 2-3 packs a week. i was wondering if i quit now will i still go through long term effects of smoking cigarettes such as premature aging, erectile dysfunction, lung cancer, etc. and will the gunk in my lungs go away and ever look healthy again compared to smokers lungs?
Please, please, please quit. Your body has a fantastic ability to heal it self and it can get rid of the junk in your lungs. You may have made your self a little more at risk for lung cancer but with all the other nasty stuff in our atmosphere who could tell. Just quit, nicotine is the nastiest addictive drug there is, it makes you do things that you know are dangerous to yourself and others and that is one definition of insanity.
If you want to quit, do it! It-s tough, and I haven-t been able to yet. But if you quit before too long, your body can repair itself.
-Within 12 hours after you have your last cigarette, your body will begin to heal itself. The levels of carbon monoxide and nicotine in your system will decline rapidly, and your heart and lungs will begin to repair the damage caused by cigarette smoke. As your body begins to repair itself, instead of feeling better right away, you may feel worse for a while. It-s important to understand that healing is a process p;it begins immediately, but it continues over time. These -withdrawal pangs- are really symptoms of the recovery process.
Immediately after quitting, many ex-smokers experience -symptoms of recovery- such as temporary weight gain caused by fluid retention, irregularity, and dry, sore gums or tongue. You may feel edgy, hungry, more tired, and more short-tempered than usual and have trouble sleeping and notice that you are coughing a lot. These symptoms are the result of your body clearing itself of nicotine, a powerful addictive chemical. Most nicotine is gone from the body in 2-3 days.-
Smoking is a horrible habit. I quit a 2 pack a day habit using an electronic cigarette. They are amazing. The last time I had a traditional cigarette was an hour before I got my e-cig in the mail. I have not had the desire to smoke a traditional cigarette ever since. They don-t stink at all and you can smoke them indoors at bars and restaurants. I feel a million times better now. Here is a link to the company I buy from. They have one of the best reputations in the e-cig world and great prices. Good luck on your journey to a healthier you.

No, you-ll be fine, you-re years away from that level of risk. But keep in mind that the damage is cumulative so if you start up again your health risk will be based on total lifetime consumption.
