NPL hypnosis is the way to go, it will reprogram your brain to not associate relaxation, having Coffee, driving ETC with smoking, so you wont feel the argue to smoke, also it can hypnotize you to just to stick to your plan :P it is the perfect way to stop smoking.
Well, the thing that did it for me was watching a film about lung cancer, I nearly fell thr-o my socks, never smoked since, and I was a 40 a day smoker! Good luck.
you need to see a doctor and ask him for some drugs man.He will fix you up.

Has anyone tried to quit smoking using Chantix? -

Has anyone tried to quit smoking using Chantix? -

I just started taking it..I have smoked for 32 years
Chantix is a great way to quit smoking with few side effects. For more Chantix information, click the following link:
http://www.121doc.com/champix.html?a_aid…

I am just starting with this Chantix, and am so far satisfied that it is working. I never could get past a few days going cold turkey, and this drug got me to a week now, and looks and feels like it will keep me going without the cigarettes.

But. You have to realize that there are more things than just the nicotine addiction involved with smoking. When you quit, there is a sense of loss, such as when a favorite person or even a pet dies or moves away...you miss the whole smoking thing, even if you end up not being addicted, so you have to solve that.

Probably, you will always be attracted to smoking, so you have to accept that and accept the fact that there will be times when you still have to consciously reject smoking....
Chantix is amazing.

I work in a pharmacy and customers constantly comment on how amazing it is. Since it blocks the nicotine receptors instead of providing artificial nicotine (or low dose nicotine), many report that it just completely wiped out any desire to smoke within a few weeks.

If you-re serious about quitting, chantix is definitely my #1 rec... whatever you do though, do NOT start again!
My mom smoked for 40, worked great. Theres something you should know though. Its not just about taking chantix and trying to quit, its also about behavioral change. My mom had the habit of smoking everytime she got in the car, she needed to find something else to do everytime she got in the car. She had the habit of smoking everytime she got a phone call and went into the balcony. Behavioral change is a big part, and you cant take chantix forever, so after you get off of it, keep stress levels low and find something that lets out stress so when a stressful event comes up, you dont start smoking again.

Also another thing, I work at a pharmacy, and this drug is a miracle drug, they usually dont find drugs like this. So consider yourself very very lucky, honestly. I have had so many customers quit. I know its not easy, even with this drug, but you-ve smoked for 32 years, I think it would be only fair to your lungs if you gave them a break from the smoke for the next 32. Good luck!

Has anyone tried auricular therapy to quit smoking? Did it work? -

They say it does according to some family practice doctors in St Louis. I had 4 of my patients go to one doctor for auricular therapy. NO ONE stopped smoking. All the doc did was a wallet biopsy. Can google tons of programs to stop smoking, many work. You have to be ready to stop smoking, mainly. Also, figure out what triggers smoking in the first place. If it is anxiety, get Valerian root tablets or an anti-anxiety medicine (very low dose). No one ever died of a very low dose of anti-anxiety medicine, but they did of lung cancer.
.My cousin also had this done twice and she is still smoking. I think it is in your will power. Good luck in quitting

What are the things you have tried to quit smoking? -

I-ve tried 5 times. I think this time I did it. Won-t start back cuz I can-t afford it, it-s been 5 years now. I smoked for 40 years, about a pack a day. Before I tried the patches, they work, but there was always, I-m going to try just one, yeah, right back hooked again. This time I won-t go back cuz I don-t have the money. Sometimes I really want one, but it passes. This time I would burn a smoke part way, don-t smoke it, put it out, when I wanted one I would puff on that, don-t light it, it helped, aot. When it got ragged, I would make another one. Also, this time I quit with a CARTON, I had to know they were there if I wanted one. It-s been 4 years and the full carton is still there.
Zyban...worked like a dream
i think that-s the only way is to just quit i just did it and now realizing that i have money i didn-t even know where it came from until i think about 2 of us were smoking and just quit like that and that-s an extra 230. in our bank a month so the best way to do it is to just quit .other things i think the craving would come back if your not ready and need help it means your really not ready . because if they were the would do it on their own .
I quit cold turkey and I have been off of the stuff since October. I try not to be around it, I don-t watch movies where people are smoking, I turn away from ads, and for the nervous smoking I stick a piece of gum in my mouth and do 20 pushups more if I think about cigarettes again(its like punishing myself). Its really hard but...
I will entertain my mind by other ways than smoking . I didnt thought about smoking for about 1-2 days than it will soon be quit by itself. It will be really hard for you but you have to do it. You can also burn all the things to smoke.

Quit smoking the natural way? -

Quit smoking the natural way? -

I have had it with my smoking, I-ve paired it down to as little as 5 smokes a day unless I am in a social setting. I used to enjoy it, however now it just makes me feel sick afterward and tired. I don-t have money to spend on expensive drugs and I think that using nicotine patches isn-t a good idea seeing that they have the addictive quality in them. I want to quit but to do it naturally. Any suggestions?
I-ll tell you how I quited. Might work for you.

I -fooled- myself into thinking I was smoking. It-s an oral fixation as much as a nictotine addiction. So I hollowed out a pen and whenever I felt to smoke I-ll pull on that for a bit. The really intense urge would pass and I-ll be ok for a while. I also subsituted food for smoking (probably not a good idea if your also concerned with weight). After a few weeks, the urges were very bearable. I-ve been smoke free for, gosh over 7 years now. Hope I helped.

Edit:
Adam O and I had similar techniques. Smoking is much more than nicotine. Carrying the straw (or pen) and drawing on it, mimicing smoking helps a good deal. :D
You-ve done a lot of work already by getting your smoking down to 5 a day.
For me, I consciously weeded out all associations with smoking (eg, after dinner smoke, smoking when having a glass of wine or beer, etc - you get the idea). Choose one of these activities and *not* smoke. After a week (or less if you wish) add another activity in which you won-t smoke. Eventually, you-ll be down to zero.
You stated you feel sick and tired. Use this aversion to push yourself the rest of the way. I could never smoke when I was sick, despite being a menthol-3-pack-a-dayer. I got the flu and was sick for about 2 weeks - yup didn-t smoke. I figured after two weeks, I could go longer without. 18 years and counting. Also, associate negative imagery when you do smoke, like, your lungs coated with black tar. Best wishes
Drinking distilled water will rid your body of the nicotine quicker. Also, identify your triggers (behind the steering wheel, on the phone, when you-re drinking coffee, etc) - place healthy snax in those areas, like carrot - celery sticks, gum, etc. This will help with the hand/mouth addiction.
Lastly, you can buy a tea called Lobelia. It not only calms you down as you go through withdrawal, but it also tricks the body into thinking it-s getting nicotine when it isn-t...which helps you cope better. Find it at a health food store.
There are herbs that can help you- you will need to go to a naturalist to find what they are. I used Chantix and it helped a lot. I used it only for 1 month (they tell you to stay on it 3 months). I have been smoke-free for almost 8 weeks now. I still get cravings, but they are controlable. Good Luck and I wish you success with your quit!
Go cold turkey. Throw out all your cigarettes. (Ask people to hold you accountable.) It may be hard but its the most -natural- way. Try to find another habit to do whenever you get a craving. (I-ve heard some people wash dishes when they get a craving, others chew on pens or eat candy cigars.)
the best way is to carry a straw around in your hand....cause its not the fact that you smoke its just a habbit that it is in your hand so....carry a straw and chew on it and it should help you!!!thats how i stopped!!!took awhile tho....so be prepaired!!!
its your body and mind you can control it ... think positively and work on daily basis...
If you are looking for something to take to help you-quit smoking naturally,- there is nothing. Taking something to help you quit is not natural.

The only to -quit naturally- is to just quit. I t is difficult, but it can be done. Hundreds of thousands of us have done it.

I smoked 3 packs a day for many years.

About 1 5 years ago, I quit. Just put them down and never smoked again.

Was it easy? NO

Was I ever tempted to smoke a cigarette? YES

Di d I give in to the temptation? NO

I have not smokedANYTHING since I quit.

A few things that helped me: 1) Ididn-t think I-d be able to do it on my own, so I prayed and asked God to help me.If you don-t know God, this is a good time to meet Him. He will help you, if you ask.
2) I stopped carrying cigarettes in my shirt pocket, which is where I always carried them, previously. For the first 2 weeks, I kept a package close by - usually in the glove box of my car. That way, I knew I wouldn-t all of a sudden realize I was without anything to smoke and go into a panic and run out and buy a pack. . But, although they were always close by, I did not torture myself by taking them out and playing with the package, or smelling them to remind myself how good they smelled. It was enough for me just toknow they were there to keep me from going into panic mode.

3)Whenever I got a strong urge to smoke one, I would make myself wait 10 minutes before I lit one. And, I immediately found something to do to take my mind off smoking. I would go mow the lawn, wash the dishes, do laundry, rake the leaves, shovel snow out of the driveway,Or, go for a long jog. - anything to leep me busy emough that I would not think about smoking. You will find that, if you occupy yourself and your mind with things to do, the thought of smoking will not return for quite some time. Then, when the thought does return, I would again give myself another 10 minutes, and find something else to do.

Your mind and your body knows that you can go without anything for 10 minutes, so it-s no big deal to wait for ten. But, the trick is to find something to occupy yourself with so that when the ten minutes have passed, you are no longer thinking about smoking. As long as you are not thinking about smoking, you won-t smoke. 4) Stay away from where people are smoking. Sit in non-smoking sections in restaurants and other publc places. If a group of people are standing around talking and smoking, don-t join the group. Don-t go out with anyone who is a smoker. Try not to be in a car with smokers

EVERY TIME you are tempted to light one up, make yourself wait 10 minutes, then get busy doing something productive.

You-ll probably find other little -tricks- you can do to help you get thrugh the rough part.

It took me about 2 weeks to get past the intense cravings, but I did it, and you can do it.

Before you know it, you-ll reach the point where you can-t stand to be around cigarette smoke. I-ve been at that point for years, and every ex-smoker that I know is the same - just can-t stand to be around cigarette smoke.

I hope this helps you.

Good luck

Go in peace.

And always remember: -- Jesus love you!!

Sincerely,
Uncle Floyd

i have been smoking since i was 13. now im 20...i hate to do it cuz it really does stink...but i cant find an effective way to quit. ive tried everything from cold turkey...to switching to gum and suckers...but no cee-gar! any better alternatives? like surgery or hypnosis? what works? what doesnt?
The only way to quit smoking is to control yourself. No one can quit it in a moment or there is no medicine in the whole world which can stop this. To stop smoking you must make have to make your will power to be strong enough. You could start by decreasing the time you smoke i.e. if you smoke 4 times a day then decrease it to 3 times then 2 it is not necessary that you should do it at once. It could take upto month or more to completely stop. But you must have to make youself do that. Otherwise no one can help you.
When you find out...let me know
when ever you want one say no then the next time have one.
ask you get used to that and you dont think its so bad.
turn down the next two times you want one and then have one.
and ect.; cutting down gradually with a strategy might help.
At first you may find this very baloney answer but I think this will help you solve your problem. I-m very happy for you that you are trying to quit such a not so good hobby which is -smoking-. I suggest that you should have an exercise everyday that would make you forget smoking...Like swimming, jogging around the park or going to an area where smoking is prohibited. All you need is self discipline and determination. And always Pray TO God because he is the only one that will help you the most. God Bless and Happy New Year
if u really want to quit smoking, then u can do it. u-r the only one who can control yourself. just try to think about the bad effects of smoking - bad breath, lung cancer, etc.

u can stop, i know u can! good luck!
start puting the smokes away..start eating lollipop
just stop. If you really wanted to you would. I did

What Were Your Toughest Withdrawal Symptoms When Quit Smoking? -

I have few tough withdrawal symptoms on my own quit, heart palpitations, tingling/numbness sesations in feet and legs, tight chest/flu-like and anxiety. Some of the symptoms last weeks longer than others.

Thanks in advance!
Worst thing for me was really wanting to smoke all the time.

In terms of side effects, I had some muscle pain and a bit of an upset stomach. The palpitations would come and go.

Best thing I found is to exercise more. It-s amazing how much more you can do when not smoking and it really helps to even things out.

Good luck and hang in there!
I quit smoking cold turkey a couple of years ago and the first few weeks were the hardest. some of the symptoms you describe are natural, but you-ll get over them

my best advice would be to make sure you quit completely, don-t allow yourself the occassional cigarette because then you-ll just backslide eventually for sure.
Cravings, mostly. And I was completely scatterbrained, couldn-t focus on anything. The peak of the symptoms comes 3-5 days after you stop, then it gets progressively better. I-m out at something like seven weeks now and for the most part I feel OK.
Anxiety ,..but I rarely quit for more than 8 hours.
Thank you for using Yahoo answers , have a great day !
I had a lot of withdrawals. But I overcame them with lots of help from heroine and crack. I feel great!

Has anyone had difficulties sleeping as they quit smoking? If so, how long should I expect it to last? -

Has anyone had difficulties sleeping as they quit smoking? If so, how long should I expect it to last? -

I stopped smoking Thursday night the 3rd and have had a hard time sleeping. Aside from the lack of sleep I feel disorientated when I wake up in brief moments. Weird.
This is all part of your body trying to readjust itself, as you kick the habit. Give yourself a pat on the back, you-re doing the right thing! You could try to lull yourself to sleep before going to bed, to prevent these sleeping difficulties from affecting you.

here is a list of sleep do-s and don-ts I stumbled upon which answers your questions. take a look at it and make some minor adjustments and you-re on your way to better sleep!

Do’s

1) Go to bed at the same time each day: this will allow your mind and body a chance to rest at a regular and fixed scheduled time. Once your body is adjusted to this time, you will begin to feel sleepy at the predetermined time and upon awakening, refreshed and ready to start the day!

2) Exercise regularly, preferably in the morning or early evening: Regular exercise brings about numerous benefits, one of them being restful sleep. Some feel exercise in the morning energizes them, while others simply want to use up all their remaining energy in the evening.

3) Maintain a comfortable temperature in your bedroom: You wont be able to slep well if you are sweating, nor would you if its too cold.

4) Get regular exposure to outdoor or brigh lights during the day: This allows the mind and body to be aware of the day and night, as melatonin is produced in the night when exposed to the dark.

5) Keep the bedroom dark enough to facilitate sleep: Melatonin levels in the blood start to rise by about 8-10pm and peaks by 1-2am. It helps to have a dark environment for sleeping as the body recognizes the darkness by producing melatonin to aid restful sleep.

6) Keep the bedroom quiet when asleep: A noisy environment will keep you awake, and the bed partner should not be a snorer. If not, you can introduce him/her to www.stopyoursnore.com. Studies have shown that spouses who sleep beside a snorer sleep an average of two hours less when compared to a spouse whose bed partner does not snore.

7) Keep your feet and hands warm. Wear warm socks or mittens/gloves to bed. Anything that feels good on you will help promote quality sleep!

8 ) Use relaxation techniques before sleeping: Some examples include yoga, positive visualization, massage or a warm bath. This helps promote deeper sleep.

Don’ts

1) Exercise before going to bed: The heart rate and adrenaline levels in the blood need some time to dissipate. Avoid exercising three to four hours before bedtime.

2) Have caffeine in the evening: Coffee, tea, chocolate and sodas contain stimulants that keep you awake at night.

3) Go to bed too hungry or too full: You will not be able to sleep while you’re craving for food, as gastric pain will keep you awake. A stomach that is too full on the other hand, will promote reflux disease and cause chest discomfort.

4) Read or watch television in bed: The bed should only be used for sleep and sex. Don’t confuse your mind and body; the body does not want to associate the bed with alertness while reading so head somewhere else to read.

5) Engage in stimulating activity just before bedtime: Do not play video games, watch an exciting program on television or have an important discussion with a love one. Leave all this till tomorrow.

6) Command yourself to go to sleep: This only makes your mind and body more alert.

7) Keep checking the clock: Do not worry about having to go to sleep by constantly checking your clock. If you take more than 15 minutes to fall asleep, get up and do something boring. Usually, a book with dense academic material knocks me out. Try it – it works!

Yes, you are still a smoker and teasing your body with small doses of nicotine. This prevents your body from getting past the withdrawal process as well as the habit. I suggest trying the patch so you have a constant dose of nicotine and NO puffs at all. This way you-ll break the habit itself first. Once you begin to be more confident and you-ve stopped cheating, decrease the patch dosage and get your body off the nicotine. I know it-s hard, I smoked 15 years and finally managed to quit. You can do it!
Yes, because you are still smoking.
You are still a smoker but it may help you to be able to quit. The lesser amount is definitely more healthy for you.
Yes unless you quit cold turkey, which anyone can do you just have to have a very big desire to quit.My ex boyfriend said he quit but he still smoked prime times and occasionally he would have a puff here or there i consider that a smoker cause he just doesnt want to give it up.
No, three puffs a day is not smoking. Less than 5 cigarettes per day is -social smoking-.
Yes, that counts as a smoker.
I am quitting today too! I am tired of this slow conscious suicide. I cried last night for an hour because it is so hard to beat the addiction. My lungs don-t work properly and I am only 24. It sucks. But we can beat it!
Yes it will count as smoking but its a START

What should I do about my withdrawal symptoms ill face since im trying to quit smoking again?!? -

What should I do about my withdrawal symptoms ill face since im trying to quit smoking again?!? -

I know whats coming... I-m gonna have that notion in my head that -I-m not me without em- or -I cant imagine me without em- or -one wont hurt- its like my mind is playing tricks on me. Then i slip up and dont even realize it. I get aggitated, angry, and sometimes sick when i would try to quit. Whats the best way to quit? I take welbutrin, Lamictal, and adderoll now.
Instead of always making cigarettes the focus of your thoughts, try thinking of yourself as a non smoker to put a different spin on the quitting process. When things start to get stressful go for a walk or sit somewhere that smoking is not allowed until the moment passes. Drink lots of cold water, and good luck in your attempt to stop smoking.
you shouldn-t be taking adderall and antidepressants together, first of all.
adderall is a stimulant just like nicotine.
since you are trying to come off a stimulant, you are replacing it with another one. It may be preventing you from going through some aspects of the -crash- you would feel from coming off nicotine. but at the same time its just not the same drug. your body still wants the nicotine. also, adderall can create withdrawal symptoms from discontinuation of use that you may feel you need cigarettes to ease. So if this combination of pharmaceutical drugs seems to ease you off cigarettes, where will you turn when you want to ease off them? this is making the probability of relapse increase tremendously.

in order for your body to fully adjust to being clean from nicotine, it needs to experience the entire crash. the adderall must be stopped.

you will go through some pain from withdrawal. but withdrawals don-t last forever. addictions on the other hand, can last forever. the only way to break the cycle of use is to go through the pain of withdrawal and then heal, on your own, without substances.
You-re bored in life and you know it! Go for radical life change and don-t look back! Go try living in a different part of the country, but best of all, try to do the opposites of everything for awhile... seek balance and you-ll feel better. Indoors too much? go outside. lonely? go find ppl with idle time, etc, etc.
When you get angry, aggitated, etc., know that it is the withdrawal talking. Try and keep your hands busy. Also, try and cut back on your smoking before you quit...and do things differently, such as if you drink coffee in the morn, try drinking tea instead....
I know what you are talking about. I couldnt ever shake the habit and all of the urges without seeking help. I finally found something that worked for me and it made quiting fairly easy. Now im smoke free with no side effects.
I hear ya. I am trying to quit too and I had/have the same thoughts. I quit for 8 days because of my wisdom teeth and I did it cold turkey. The only thing that kept me from smoking was my teeth (which, by the way, are so bad because of smoking that I may have to get many more teeth extracted- NOT GOOD). Once I passed the threshold of a dry socket, all the thoughts about smoking and whether just one would hurt and how much I needed it came rushing back. I found every way to rationalize it.

While I was going cold turkey, when I would have the urges, I would actually try the whole taking a walk thing and drinking water. It helps but doesn-t work entirely. I then actually got online and started reading stuff about withdrawal and read some horror stories about what happens when you keep smoking, and some more inspirational stories that seemed to not only keep my mind occupied, but scared me a little so that i couldn-t rationalize having a smoke in that moment. Different things work for different people, so maybe that-s just me.

In any case, as soon as I got the ok that all of my sockets had healed, I smoked. I felt crappy about myself afterwards, not even sure why, and went on the patch the next day.

The patch is a godsend. You still have the cravings like after you eat, in the am, and when you are driving and stuff, but your head is clearer and the urges don-t seem unmanageable (like you don-t feel so anxious or feel the intense need to run away and get just one drag). I am not as irritable nor do I have the mood swings (I cried when i was withdrawing while in the grocery store because I couldn-t figure out what to eat!! haha). I don-t know if it will work forever, but it is an option....

In any case, good luck. I am not sure if I will succeed, but I really hope I do and you too. I will miss cigarettes, but the risks just now seem to outweigh the benefits for me so I have to let them go....

good luck.

I quit smoking how do I get back in shape? -

I-m only 16 years old and I quit smoking it was very tough. I got really sick and decided thats it I quit. I used to be very athletic. But now I-m not as athletic. Will my lungs fully heal? Or will they have tar forever
ur lungs are very giving. depends on how much you smoked and for how long, but they will eventually repair themselves. hit up the gym and progress in workout thru out the week.

How can you convince someone to quit smoking? -

How can you convince someone to quit smoking? -

The -someone- would be my mom.
That is what we have in common. I find ciggarettes in her purse. (as in my mom) But some times, you got to steal her light and ciggs. Talk to her too, that will help out. Tell her you want your mom to stay alive for a long time and that you love her. When she tries to quit, she may be cranky. But you got to learn, helping can have some concequences too. I want my mom to be above the influence no matter how old she is. But like people have been saying, you cant just make somebody quit smoking, encourage them. Kaiser Permenente has this thing that helps people with a smoking adiction. It might take so many tries for her to become a successful quitter. My teacher-s mother also has some kind of lung problem. That-s what happen when you get an addiction!
u cant. the only way someone will stop smoking is if they want. honestly when someone gets on me about how i should quit it makes me want to smoke more
You can-t...Take it from an ex-smoker who has tried to get her father to quit for 10 years. BUT you can tell her how worried about her health you are and that the thought of losing her scares you to death. That-s what my children did 10 years ago when my husband and I decided to quit together. You can tell her that you know it will be one of the hardest things she has ever done and that you will be supportive even if she is terribly grouchy and irritable, which she will be. You can help by buying some of the Nicoderm CQ patches which is what we used. A lot of people who haven-t ever smoked before don-t understand that you are not only giving up the nicotine but also the hand to mouth habit. Which is why so many people gain weight when they quit smoking. That was the hardest thing for me. What to do with my hands? But if you nag, it will backfire and only make her try to avoid you. My younger sister does that to my dad and he doesn-t want to be around her. The only way that a person can quit an addiction is if they, themselves actually WANT to do it. If she decides she wants to do it because she hates seeing you so worried then she can do it with your help. Try to be understanding...depending on how much and how long she has smoked she could experience night sweats, shaking, nightmares, headaches, and possibly feel tightness in her chest. My husband did but I didn-t. Good Luck!! It-s one of the best things we ever did and I wish I could convince my dad to quit also.
i-m a smoker and i have been for 4 years now. it is extremely hard to quit smoking. i-m sorry to tell you this but you cant make some quit smoking. it is something they have to do on their on. be supportive, find materials and booklets on smoking. tell them you will help buy products to help with quit, but make sure you buy them and not just give her money. if she really wants to stop she will, but it is a very very hard thing to do and it takes a lot of strength to quit.

good-luck!
I don-t think you can. They have to want to do it themselves. It is an addiction. My husband has tried to quit many times. I keep hoping one of these times he will be successful. You can only encourage your mom to quit, for her sake and yours. The rest is really up to her.
depends on the person. If they are really addicted then proubally not nut if dey jus started den yea if you really talk to em
Sorry, You can-t convince someone into quitting smoking. Most likely anyway
Most people I know that smoke (me included), have to want to quit. If they don-t want to quit. Most likely they wont. I stopped smoking, only I decided that it was time to stop. I say stop because I stopped smoking for five years, only to start smoking again. So, you see most people have to have the desire to quit. Ask anybody, and they will tell you the same thing I think.

I am hoping to quit within this year
Assuming you have the will power, cold turkey is the quickest way.
The only way to quit smoking is to do it cold turkey. That is the way I did it and that was over 11 years ago. Just do it now. Don-t set a date or a certain time of the year to quit. That will not work. You have to be ready and willing to go through some rough times but trust me it is all worth it.
Chantix. Most of the rest of these answers are absurd. Especially the cold turkey ones. Your body goes thru a hell of a shock when you quit and cold turkey is the absolute last way you want to do it.
Chantix.com will tell you more. Good Luck.
That totally depends on the person...there is no dry,cut answer to this...everyone is different.
Some people can do it cold turkey and not have any help at all, while others need patches...therapy, any kind of smoke aid they can get their hands on...
It-s good that you chose to quit...you have to decide how you are going to do it...
Good luck to you.
Cold turkey and lots of chewing gum. Trust me, after about three days, you-ll not crave them as much. Your body is going through withdrawld for about a month. You can do it. I did after smoking a pack a day for 30 years. 7 years and no cigs.
I quit many years ago after trying numerous times over a period of years. One day I decided I would do what ever it took. I also told myself it won-t be easy but I would again do what ever it took. If I had to sit on my hands, that-s what I would do. So that is what I did. Once I decided it wasn-t going to be easy, it became easy. After about a month I was free of cigarettes. 27 years ago for me.
Well, for me I-m always lacking on the will power to decide to quit so upon a recommendation from a good friend he told me about using a nicotine patch to slowly reduce the intake. For once, I believe in him so I went to buy this nicotine patch that he recommended to me. I must say I-m quite skeptical about all these kind of products as I thought that only willpower can help you overcome the cravings for the nicotine. But I was proven wrong... Within just 2 weeks, my nicotine cravings really reduce by a lot. So I really must say that nicotine patches does work and now I-m totally free from smoking after 7 months. I was really grateful to that friend of mine though. Oh if you want to know what nicotine patch I used.

You just go to this website below and take a look at the information over there.

Hope this helps in your quitting smoking.
Not buying any cigarettes would make you stop pretty quickly!
Go cold turkey first. Then if you need help try some of the patches or gums available. My cousin used candy suckers. The doctor also has medicines that will help you as well.
do it slowly cut down until your only on a couple a day
Get hypnosis. I work at a hospital and we offer hypnosis classes and the smokers RAVE about it. We have an 88% quit rate.

Try it. Seriously.
Cold turkey, if you have the will to quit and you really want to quit, you should have no problem.
Try Chantix. It has a very high success rate. It-s pretty expensive though, about 100 dollars depending where you live and the pharmacy you go to. I-m a pharmacy tech and about 70% of the people who take it have quit smoking within the first 2 months of taking chantix.
In the Search for questions slot type in -quit smoking- and you will get at least 7,050 results.
You want it quick? Decide on it quick and do it NOW!
i smoked rollies to give up as there disgusting

Whats the best way to quit smoking? -

My mother has been smoking for a long time and I want to make her quit before it-s too late. What-s the best way to get her to quit?
The best solution is substituting something else whenever she wants to have a cigarette. You can try various things like Nicotine patches. But, the best thing I-ve found is Electronic Cigarettes. Its an electric cigarette with a battery in it. You can make her smoke this. At first set the nicotine level to what she wants. Day by day, keep on decreasing the nicotine level and one day she-ll definitely quit.

http://www.stop-smoking-tips.com/electro…

Good luck!!
Shoot each cigarette out of her mouth as she tries to light up. Eventually, she-ll get the message.

There is no BEST way to get her to quit. Because she-s got to want to quit. And cigarettes are addictive, so there-s NO EASY WAY to get her to WANT to quit.
If it was something like you smoke and you suddenly got cancer, then she might get scared because her child was following in her steps and got deathly ill. Much of the time, it takes as bad a scare as that to shock people into trying to quit smoking.

The other point is that you said you WANT TO MAKE HER QUIT. Oh how many people have tried to do that. Even the people trying to quit would love to MAKE THEMSELVES quit. But it just isn-t that easy.

There-s lots of emotional reasons people smoke, along with the physical addiction. So you-ve got a double whammy to overcome. And if your mother is setted into her habits, then it-s almost impossible to get her out of it.

It-s so funny to me that kids will consider smoking as an adult action, and even tease kids into trying cigarettes, then years later they-re hooked, and enroute to getting cancer which will probably end their life with intense pain. Oh, yes those kids were soooo smart to start smoking.

If we could answer your question so easily, then smoking wouldn-t be a problem. But we cant.
There-s no easy way to say -good luck-, because almost no amt of luck will work on your quest to get your mom to quit. Certainly nagging her won-t.

NRT or hypnosis?
I don-t know what the best way to quit smoking is...but,the easiest way would be to die.Ha,Ha!
I think the best way to stop smoking is to take it slow. Try and smoke less cigs every day, and when your down to one a day, that is a good sign, try to go without a cig for a day.

I am sure if you have to ask about it here, you must have read and tried a lot to quit smoking. So you have failed till now despite trying your best??
OK. I am a doctor who advices about 25 patients daily about stopping smoking. About 25 % quit eventually after explaining about all the heart problems, cancer, bronchitis etc. etc.
But 75 % don-t.
But the maximum people who listens immediately to my advice are patients who survive a heart attack. Those who are lucky to reach hospital and survive are very receptive to advice and about 99 % of them stop smoking.
So decide now. Would you wait for a lucky chance of survival after heart attack or cancer or QUIT NOW.
If there is a will there is way. Most of the people who stop after a heart attack stops without any aid like nic patch. Most of the people I have seen have stopped without any aid. I am sure you can if you decide and try with all your heart.
I really really hope you will stop in this new year. Best of Luck.
Surely if you can afford cigarettes, you can afford patches. Just don-t buy cigarettes for a whole week and use the money to buy patches or gum.

Otherwise, your doctor might be able to suggest something. Try to stick to it though, it-s a really good step to quit smoking, You-ll feel much better for it afterwards.
I don-t think they-re anymore expensive than cigs and once the habit is over you don-t have to spend *anything*. If you don-t smoke that much, get the Commit lozenges and cut them in pieces -- you can make four 1 mg mnii-lozenges out of one 4mg lozenge.
My husband was smoking a pack a day for 5 years then one day just quit (Well.. i asked him too).. and bam he quit..yeah he craved it but he had the will power. One night in bed he just said -im not smoking again- and he hasn-t (its been one year now)
Cold turkey style...
Only smoke half the fag then chuck the rest away. Just try and cut down that way, smoke less and less of the fag as u go along.
here you can find how to stop smoking easy
it all comes down to will power
but try substituting your cigarette cravings when you want to smoke have one of those lil jolly rancher candies thats what my grampa did and it helped him quit =]
You can get a free sample of Nicorette at the below link. Get your friends to sign up as well and you-ll be set.
Many sites offer free trials of their products. A few of my friends have succeeded using them.
Well i went to the doctors and they gave me the suft i need to quite smoking.

I have tried cold turkey but that didn-t work is there any suggestions???
Congrats on trying to quit. That-s great!
First, I think, you have to tell us how long you have smoked, how old you are, how much you smoke and your sex. Yeah, that matters too.
Without knowing all of those things, I think the best way is for you to find out how it feels like when you quit. Do that by quitting. Go as long as you can. When you absolutely can-t stand it any longer, force yourself to hold off. When you are about to die, make note of how you feel. Make note of what is forcing you to want a smoke. It will be unique to you alone.
Once you know that, the next time you try to quit you will be ready for it. Then try again, and again, and again. All of a sudden you will get it.
It took me 4 months of failure before I got it right. It was the most horrifying thing I ever did. I must have failed 100 times, but each time I learned more about the feelings, the emotions I would have and the -ugly- I would feel and I would try to figure out how to address it. Some time I got it right and sometimes I didn-t.
I smoked heavily for over 30 years and I-ve been off the cancer sticks for 3 years now. I pray you have not smoked for so long, but even so, I-m no better than you, and I did it.
You can too! Go for it.

NEVER STOP TRYING!!!!!!!!
good answer, I have been smoking now for 50 years, and I am trying to stop. Hope that I can, as the cirulation in my legs are bad, and know its from smoking. Have a nice day

hot turkey.
cold turkey!!
I dont know either rhoda... If you ever find the answer to HOW TO QUIT SMOKING... Get it patended, You-ll be a Billionaire!!!$$$ that nicotine is something. one person at my work quit by hypmotism.. I quit for 8 months once, - started again. I used the patch then. I guess you JUST CANT HAVE ONE. SAY NO.
For me quitting cold turkey works, I quit almost a year ago and haven-t pick one up since. But in the past I-ve tried to quit many times....and always failed. You know how you say -oh I-ll quit after this pack- .....does not work. So you have to reallly want to quit. Think about all the benefits you will gain from quitting write them down. Tell yourself everday what poisons your putting in your body and that it does not deserve it. Keep a strong mind and quit when you are truly up for it.
do scare ta-tic work on you?there-s a lot of different meds to help, but i don-t like the idea of taking meds to stop smoking?most hospitals have smoking sensation classes for free, try quit assist on-line or Phillip Morris.com, ask your doctor?hypnotist worked on my mother, shes been a non smoker for 30 years now, but you must really want to quit for it to work, for me i had an aneurysm and dadurning surgery had a stroke because i smoked, it was enough to scare me, doctor said if i smoked or was around a lot of second hand smoke I-d die, now i cant even stand to be around someone who smokes, they smell so bad, there clothes, house and car all smell.smoking can cause you to age earlier and faster , your teeth-usually get nasty, and to kiss, how gross!!!!!my aunt lost her leg because of smoking. I-ve had friends get copd and lung cancer, go to the hospital check out all the patients who are there because of smoking.and think of all that money you could still have if you quit, i know its not easy, i waited way to late to quit, but i tried, and that-s what you must continue to do, keep trying, never give up trying,i wish you the best of luck, so never give up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I DONT KNOW ..WHEN I QIUT ..I WILL LET YOU KNOW
DO NOT quit cold turkey. It is like a dieter cutting out all junk foods - you will binge. On cigarettes.

Here are some tips.

1. Chew sugarfree gum. It keeps your breath smelling good and you can buy it at the dollar store. Mint candies are good too. My dad tried eating candy when he stopped smoking and he put on some weight...try low cal alternatives

2. Stay active. Walk, swim, dance, just do something to get your mind of that nicotine.

3. Find the reason that drives you to smoke and find an alternative for it. Stress? Take a long hot soak in the tub or something. Bored? Uh, find something to do.

4. Find hobbies that keep your hands busy, like knitting or drawing, read books, etc.

5. Keep tobacco related products out of your house. If someone else lives with you and won-t keep their sh*t out of sight, make them stash it.

6. Think about all the time it wastes. Let-s say hypothetically you smoke five cigarettes a day and take about five minutes for each one. That is twenty five minutes gone every day, almost 3 hours gone in a week, half a day every month, about six DAYS every year. Seriously, that is a lot of time vanished from your life, not even counting the time you may have shortened your life expectancy.

7. Volunteer somewhere. It will take your mind off your problem. For example if you help out at a food bank it will suddenly seem more trivial stressing about cigarettes when people are hungry out there and worried about where their next meal comes from.

8. Keep a journal. Keep track of your smoking habits. It may help you find out what sets them off. Sometimes writing about it helps you forget about it. Write down how many cigarettes, if any, you had that day, or what you did to avoid smoking.

9. Whenever you feel like buying cigarettes, take the same amount of money you would spent and put it in a jar or the bank or something. Once the money adds up to a nice large amount, a pack of cigarettes doesn-t seem quite so appealing. It is also a bit like bribing yourself. :)

10. Maybe you can donate some of that money you waste on cigarettes to organizations helping people dying of lung cancer, which is the boat YOU may be in if you keep this up.
Try to keep yourself less-stressed because some people tend to light up whenever they are.

Avoid other smokers because its easy for you to reach their box and light up.

Have a supportive non-smoker to support and keep you off lighting up. Make sure its someone you-d spend the effort to really listen to - rather than someone you-re not.

Know the scientific and solid facts about smoking: knowing that you will get lung/throat cancer, heart failure, promote your own liver failure, rotting skin (especially around your toes and feet), cataracs (eye disease), terrible breath, killing loved ones near you slowly (actually killing them faster than you kill yourself) with your smoke [in other words: secondhand-smoke] - its a matter of whether you really care to quit or not.

Last but not least... learn how to quit from the heart, if you love yourself enough to live longer you will know that every cigarette you dont light up will increase your chances to live longer... before you practically end it abruptly yourself.
well for me it was cold turkey that worked ....but my husband used the patch and it worked real good for him it eases the nicotin withdrawl
Stay away from them. Throw away all of your cigarettes.
Don-t buy more. Take pills to stop. It has already damaged you though. You can-t really change the past.
you have to want to befor you can .i mean really want to and they say cold turkey is the best of corse i dont want so i couldnt do it

WHat can I do in order to diminish the physical damage t did to me, such as wrinkled face and hands, deteriorated physical condition (i still cant run more than 1.5 km in one go), stained teeth, etc etc thanks

i am 25 yo male
Work out a lot! this will help releasing stress and reduce the craves!

use a anti-wrinkle cream, do some aerobic excercises it-ll help to repair your lungs

nyway, u r young by when u r 30 your body will be like brand new (of course if u dont go back to smoking again!)
your body will repair itself a little. such as your lungs will take a while but will slowly start to repair. you will notice this by the coughing you experiencing after you stopped and the tingling and itching of your throat and lungs. thats your tiny hairs which exist in your throat and lungs growing back, because you have singed them by the hot smoke. your young and your body can still reapair itself rather well now. it-s a good thing you stopped at this age and didn-t go into your 30-s with it, then you would have proabably had some probs. by the way you did it......... cold turkey is the only real way to quit. because it takes mind power to stop something, not more chemicals that you will depend on. good job man, just don-t fall back.
The best thing you can do is to not start up again. You can-t do much about the skin (probably not that much damage was done, since you-re only 25), except take care of it from here on out, but you can get your teeth whitened, etc. Your lungs will feel much better after a few weeks.
You will recover, you are young. Remember that a nicotine fit only lasts for 3 minutes max. At first they will be frequent, but they will recede after some time.

Good luck.
By the time your 35 you will have undid alot of the damage just by time alone.
go into rehab

How can I quit smoking? Everyday I am smoking more and more. What can I do?
A TRUE TESTIMONY***

My 53 year old brother told me that he got serious about quitting cigaretts when the doctor diagnosed him with pancreatic cancer. He said that he knelt down beside his bed one nite and asked GOD to take the taste/desire of cigarettes away and the very next day he saw a different and NEVEr desired to smoke any more. So my best answer to successfully STOP without withdraw symptoms is TRY GOD! He shows no respect of person, you know?

Remind yourself that cigarettes are not good for your health and you dont want to invest your money, health or life in something that may one day serve a death sentence on you!

Depends on how much you smoke.

I quit a 5 pack a day habit after 55 + years

step #1 is having a real good reason to quit.

Step #2 (I think) is to get an anti Anxiety drug, like Ativan to help you thru the Nic Fits ( I only needed 2)

Step #3 slowly cut back
with strong will.where there-s a will there-s a way.
I quit years ago and I found that I could not quit if I had waited until I had run out so when I was ready I through out the last of them

I had really bad cravings and this is what helped me

I also found that I had allot more time on my hand-s

I was the type that I do - X - after my smoke so when I quit I had all this time on my hands so I found it helpful to start a hobby and I live in the country so I would go for walks

After I ate was the worst for me and at first I did not eat and than a friend recomended to me to chew gum after meals and that did help

But for me I lost 15 lbs in four months

Get someone for surport if all of your friend-s smoke go to the health unit they now have quit smoking help and were I live they have -buddies- that you can call all of whom have quit smoking

And all of the money that you would normally spend on smoking put away have a jar and if you but one pack a day put the money it would have cost in the jar

If you buy by the carton what ever you spend in a week break it up so you can put money in the jar every day

And every week or two get your self a treat not food

my friend who could not afford collage she put the money away and after two years she went

Start a bank account and once a month put your savings in and keep tract

I would treat myself every three months I got what I always wanted but could not afford

Another one of my friends decided to put the money away for her childrens collage
you will be suprised how fast it can add up

Most people have to try more then once so do not give up
Quit buyin them, do not bum them, if you have any left throw them away. Do it conciously, notice when you would normaly have one, and tell yourself you dont need one at that time...you can do it!
I quit cold turkey. I used to smoke about a pack of Marlboro Reds a day - and then I just decided to quit. All I used was Winterfresh gum, and just went with it.

One important thing is to not plan when you-re gonna quit. If you plan to quit -in one month- or -for New Year-s-, you-re more likely to fail. Just one day, decide that the pack you have is your last one - and do it.

Just be strong and give it time and you will make it.
I-m almost at 4 wks quit. Go to whyquit.com for lots of education and motivation. I used the patches for the 1st few days and then just chewed on straws or gum ad ate many Tootsie Pops.

Does anyone know any effective ways to quit smoking ciggarettes ?gt;? -

Stop buying cigarettes.
That-s my ticket out of smoking.
And there are pills to quit smoking, but I don-t know if it-s out yet. They say you take it just three times and you don-t want to smoke again. It-s like they make anti-nicotin hormonal stuff in your body.
every time u wanna ciggarettes chew a peice of gum.
Just stop. It-s the best way. Patches and gum will just prolong the -coming off- Cold turkey is the best way (in my opinion) I found that by trying to avoid all the patterns that made me want to smoke (one in the car going to work, one when i got to work etc) helped. i chose not to smoke the one on the way to work, went straight into work instead of having one outside etc - really helped) having something to occupy yourself other than the hand-to-mouth habit might help. keep busy, don-t give yourself the time to think about a fag break!!!!
ya.. dnt carryany cig wit u.. or dnt carry the lighter :d
chew gum or chew something! (pencils, etc.)
First, make the choice. REALLY make the choice. Decide that no matter how uncomfortable or unhappy you are, you are not going to smoke. Decide that whatever happens to your mind or body, you are not going to smoke. Decide that your future health is worth a bit of suffering now.

Then consider talk therapy....it-s good to chat with people who have the same addiction. I think there are chat rooms on-line.

Buy lots of chewing gum. Keep your mouth busy.

Deep breathe. Seriously. When you smoke, you draw in very deep breaths. So take time every hour to take at least 5 deep breaths. If you can, do it every half hour. Just pretend you-re taking a long drag, fill your lungs, hold the clean air in, and the blow out. It will help you relax.

If you-ve got bad physical symptoms, try the nicotine patch.

Just remember, that you will suffer when you stop smoking. But you will suffer more if you don-t. So good luck and I-ll be hoping the best for you!
The -Patch- really does work. Someone I know only needed stage 1 and they were able to quit smoking by there self after 2 weeks.

I want to quit smoking and I-ve seen some commercials about pills that help you quit smoking but before I go and purchase the one I saw, I want to know if anyone knows of one that works with few to no side effects yet is effective to help me quit smoking. Please help if you can. Whether it-s pills, patches, gums, whatever. I want to quit smoking! Thank you.
I answered a question similar earlier.

The herbs Avena sativa [oat straw extract] and Passiflora incarnata might help. Bioforce do a tincture of these two combined. Most health shops stock this. Both might help with anxiety that may arise from smoking reduction/cessation. Passiflora incarnata may help with nicotine withdrawal from its benzoflavone content.

I would also take a magnesium and calcium combined [1:2 ca:mg] supplement for your nerves....citrate formulation is the best. And I would take Vitamin B Complex....B50 timed-release. You can purchase all these from Holland and Barrett. Take B complex in the morning. Take calcium/magnesium twice a day or as directed on the bottle. Take the Bioforce tincture as directed on the bottle.

You can also carry a Rescue remedy spray around with you in your pocket for when you feel nervous. It helps many. You could carry a packet of nicotine gum for if you feel desperate but I would muster up all the willpower you can to avoid using it. Reward yourself at the end of the day [if you manage to avoid the gum/a cigarette] with a nice chocolate bar or other treat.

Your wanting to give up smoking is a very good incentive in itself to help you build up your willpower to stop. And think of all the money you will save that you can save up to treat yourself... when you have finally quit...such as towards a nice holiday. Remind yourself also that smoking is so ageing... so you are wise to stop now before any more damage can be done.

May your determination help you.
I wish you all the best.
Anything with Nicotine in it will help you. But you have not gave up until you-ve stopped the patches/pills/gum as Nicotine is still present in your system.

Best way, is to just stop ... it-s mostly your brain thinking it wants something.

Anyway ... I wish you the best of luck.
I chewed the Nicorette gum and it worked. I quit smoking Jan. 4, 2008. You are only supposed to chew it for 3 months but I chewed it for 6. I smoked for 30 years and am glad I finally found something that worked!
When you feel you need to smoke, take New Testament and read from very beginning. Be attentive, do not give up! Next time continue where you stoped and so on.
When you come to the end, you forget about bad habit.
well i don-t think pills work i used patches and they worked you cant smoke with them on because you can get a heart attack and it worked for me.

im trying to quit.
and i wanna know the best way...
If what you are smoking is tobacco, here are a few ways I know:
Since what gets you addicted from smoking is nicotine, there is a much better way of getting it than smoking over 4000 different chemicals. That-s right, 4000! Well, anyway, you could pull a cold turkey. But that would be VERY hard since it takes a very strong will. You can buy nicotine patches and gums. These things contain an amount of nicotine, and they decrease over time until you finally stop wanting to get it.
Maybe try the gum or the patches, best of luck!

btw- this was for you in case you didnt see it

Is any body there quit smoking and not put weight on? -

i quit smoking i cant stop eating.
yes i quit smoking a few years since and the trick is to identify when you are really hungry and when you are just having a craving, i know its boring but chewing gum helps as does drinking a glass of water also try to plan activates around the day so you wont think about smoking or eating to replace the habit. good luck and remember if you do put any weight on that it can be lost with exercise and a good diet, cancer cant be lost so you have to weigh up the risks.
chew gum
Yes I did..and lost weight also..all I did was not to replace one bad habit with another and started working out four times a week on the Bow-flex system, worked for me!!
Yeah- a couple of men I know- me, I gained a little weight, but it is only a walk away. Breathing is awesome- so is the extra money. If you-re eating- change what it is that you are eating so that you aren-t getting saturated or trans fats. Oatmeal, Cheerios, and Special K help fill you, regulate digestion and lower cholesterol and blood pressure. Veggie sticks or Special K cereal bars have only 90 calories. Small bananas have only 90 calories. Stay away from french fries, snack cakes, certain crackers, chips and cookies. Learn how to make natural fruit smoothies- you do have alternatives.
That-s always a danger when you give up smoking. You need to find something else to occupy your time. Cigarettes are an excellent hunger suppressor, but the health benefits of not smoking are more important.
I personally have not smoked, but I do know someone who was able to quit and not gain weight. The problem is, smoking is a habit. When you quit a habit, you replace it with another habit. Most people find eating to be that other habit. If you want to quit smoking and not gain weight, you have to replace the smoking habit with something else, such as crafts, sports, typing.. anything to keep your hands busy. You can-t just stop a habit dead. You need to replace it with something else.
i don-t think so... try eating lots of protein it should fill u up
Yes I gave up the dreaded weed 3 years ago,and took up gardening and I-ve lost over 3 stone.(also stopped drinking alcohol).
simple continue to eat what you ate before since any additional hungry is then deffinatly due to lack of cigs, do more exercise during the quitting period
Chew on ice chips and get more active.

It isn-t that I feel the need for nicotine anymore, but more like stress relief. Sometimes I just get so angry feeling. How long does this last?
It WILL get better. I bet even now it doesn-t happen every day, right? Hang in there, you are a hero to give up something so addictive. It really is evil, I remember. But eventually, you will find the peace you long for, just stay strong.
You are a smart quitter. Coming on here and just letting it all out will really help yourself. I would say -good luck- but you aren-t going to need luck, you have what it takes, I can tell. Take care. DHW-

I quit in 1994 after 30 yrs. of smoking and I still get the urge.
Sometimes in especially -stressful- situations that -urge- will hit.
I think it is something you have to -resolve- within yourself. But just like an alcoholic you need to resist the temptation to smoke.Just like -drugs-.It can still be a -crutch-.Hope this helps you.
It may last the rest of your life. But there are many other ways to relieve stress than by picking up a cigarette, and I am pleased that you have managed to stay clean for as long as you have. And I use the word -clean- in its literal sense; no doubt you know by the smell when you approach a smoker.
i do this sometimes too. i never really was a heavy smoker, but i have quit twice. the only time i ever really have a hard time is when i-m really stressed. that is the first thing that i want when i-m stressed. i have no idea how long it will last. i-m guessing that mine will last my entire life.
I quite in August of 06, but it is not my first time. I quit for a year and half once, but then started again when I got over stressed. My dad has been smoke free for 30 years now but he still thinks about it. Which i-m sure is very hard for him since my mom still smokes, but he does it. It-s a state of mind.

You have to ask yourself why you quite to begin with. If it was a really good reason then you will stay smoke free for forever possible.
I quit when I realized that the only reason I was doing it for the past 17 years, for the most part, was because I had nothing better to do with my time. I was bored. When breaks came, I got to go outside. now breaks come and I have no idea what to do with myself. Smokeing just gave me something to do, when I had nothing better to do.
I thought that was pretty stupid when I thought about it long enough. It is still hard, i-m still bored and have nothing to do, but when I see that smokes are up to almost $5 a pack, I can find something better to do when i-m bored.
Think of your reason, if it-s good, then you will be ok. you just have to find something to fill the time up that you used to use with smokeing.
I-ve spoken to friends that say it-s just a daily Battle, congratulations on quiting it-s so much healthier lifestyle and you smell better too! LOL, my friends tell me several years later there are still times they miss it, they just find other things to do to occupy themselves, you-re doing great keep it up.
Smoking is similar in sorts to alcoholism. Its a disease of sorts. And unfortunately for the rest of your life you may experience the want for a cigarette. Just what ever you do, don-t give in to the urge because within a few days you will be stuck back in old habit again. Smoking isnt the same for everyone, some poeple have a smoking habit, some have a smoking addiction, the addiction is toughest to overcome
Just don-t Smoke anymore.
Generally for people who quit smoking on their own they do feel this .So to over come this feeling you should take an alternative habit to over come this desire of smoking ,such as singing / exercising or playing your favorite game or chewing a gum when ever you have this feeling and say loudly that you have over come this feeling loudly at least 5 times (AFFIRMATION) daily and you will be surprised to see the change your self.
wishing you all the best in you trying to get rid of the feeling to smoke.
The nicotine leaves your body after 72 hours, and ALL physical cravings leave with it. I think it is safe to say that after this long, you can-t blame this on smoking. You are probably just an angry person who thought smoking helped with stress.
try chewing gum.
Sucks to be you.... I quit Jan 1 07 and could care less if I had another one to smoke.
