Has anyone quit smoking and regretted it? -
You always hear stories that people feel amazing after they stop smoking, but does anyone out there NOT feel like that?
NOPE...just the opposite...
I quit 3 yrs ago, in March and have never regretted it.
what I regret?
NOT doing it SOONER!!!
1) I can breathe--no more hacking hacking hacking...every morning and every time I slept on my back!!
2) I-m a runner and my running is NOW effortless
3) MONEY...
4) freedom..no more ball and chain....will I have enough...where-s my lighter, where can I smoke, will I be uncomfortable --wherever I am going..movie, sport event, dentist..whatever....
5) MONEY..my God, I-ve spent thousands and thousands of dollars
6) I used to get distance FROM MY KIDS...so they wouldn-t inhale the smoke....can you believe it??
7) I can smell things again
8) I can taste things again
***********and this is HUGE***********
no matter how stressed I am..(I-ve gone through deaths of loved ones, etc.)..I am COMPLETELY more calm than I ever was as a smoker...the amount of calm is indescribable, as an ex-smoker.!!
I-ve kept track of the money I-ve saved and have begun spending it on other things that I LOVE
here are my stats:
1191 days, 6 hours, 27 minutes and 17 seconds
Cigarettes NOT smoked: 23825
Lifetime Saved: 6 months, 1 day, 23 hours
Money Saved: $4,768.00
There really are no advantages.
It-s a disease...an addiction.
Just like alcohol, food, sex, drugs.
It is an addiction.
[damn...you just made me light one up!]
I hate smoking...everything about it!
Hate it! Hate it!
I hate what it does to my lungs.
I hate what it does to my clothes.
I hate what it does to my car.
I hate feeling hated by the rest of
the world and have to go outside
the building 15 feet away to smoke.
I find myself smoking more if I know
I-m going someplace where I can-t
smoke.
[no other addicts are made to do that...
do you see sex addicts having to go
15 feet outside a building to have sex??
or fat people 15 feet outside a building
eating their double whopper cheeseburger
with extra cheese?]
ok...that was a joke.... but a true joke.
The only thing I heard that works
is this -anti-depressant- that will make
you quit.
Do I want to take more drugs to make
me stop taking another~ nicotine??
So I can
get addicted to an anti-depressant?
When I was a kid...they didn-t give
us the evil info on cigs...so, after
smoking half my life...I-m stuck and
it sucks! It-s my only vice. I don-t
drink or any of the other nasty stuff.
Just one nasty thing ~ smoke!
Someday...when all my stress it
out of my life~ maybe I can quit.
Yeah, the last time I had quit.. I couldn-t stand it. Months after quitting I really regretted it. I missed the time consumption it gave me. Plus just sitting back and relaxing with a smoke, off staring at the ceiling with things just running through my mind.
yeah I missed those days... so ended up starting up again.. I just don-t remember what the implication was that I put that cig back in my mouth... *shrugs* oh well.
ive quit loads of times. lol. the natural high is good and all, but sometimes you just crave real bad, but the craving does go. its best to stop. ill join u soon.
