How can i quit smoking cigarettes for real this time? -


i have been smoking for 12 yearsand i-m only twenty years of age i want to be healthy for me and for my husband but i dunno how to quit. please help but no stupi answers plz.
its a mind thing more than anything else. the only real way to quit is to not smoke, no matter what. your addiction will talk to you, saying things like -one wont hurt- but dont do it.

here are some tips:

1 - you will feel weird but you should actually focus on the feeling and know its your body healing.

2 - DONT USE ANY NICOTINE PRODUCTS! to help with the withdrawal, get some lobelia, valerian and st johns wort. lobelia fits into the nicotine receptors of the brain and tricks the brain into thinking youve smoked. valerian keeps you very calm, and st johns wort keeps you from feeling depressed and hopeless.

3 - get some licorice chew sticks (not candy, natural licorice). they help with the oral fixation and cleanse your liver

4 - whenever you get a craving in your chest, drink some ice cold water, breathe deep and ride it out. cravings only last about 4 minutes

5 - WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT SMOKE
The real answer it to nut it up and just do it. Keep yourself busy and try to keep your mind off of smoking.


Nicotine gums and patches keep you addicted to nicotine.
They only cure for your addiction is to not smoke and not ingest any nicotine.

Try not to hang out with your smoking friends for a week or two and be sure not to get drunk because you will surely slip and have one.

Exercise can also help. Whenever you really want a cigarette go for a quick jog...you won-t want to smoke after that :)
