Why do I gain weight after I quit smoking? -

I-ve gained close to 10 pounds. Am trying hard to stop myself from eating too much. It feels as though the food intake now has higher calories than when I was a smoker.
Weather you eat a lot more or not...you will gain weight after you quit smoking. Nicotine is a stimulant. It speeds up your metabolism and curbs your appetite.
As the stimulant leaves your system, your metabolism slows to it-s normal..non stimulant rate.
Naturally you will have cravings and a need to satisfy your oral fixation...try Twirlers..they are a low fat option!
Good Luck!!! Stay Strong!!!!
U tend to eat more due to depression caused by not smoking.

Eat nourishing food with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables being part of it. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate signal to the brain as soon as u have had enough. Besides this change in eating style, take regular light exercises and brisk walks every day. U will be able to gain/shed all extra weight gracefully and in a reasonable time span.
smoking not only speeds up your metabolism but curbs your appetite.

not only that, but in the time youre not smoking a cigarette-what else is there to do? eat.

be careful. dont let gaining weight make you turn back to smoking.
Its a known fact, that once a person stops smoking, they tend to gain weight. This is because smoking suppresses a persons appetite, it makes you less hungry!
When you stop smoking, you have not got the nicotine there so you turn to food as an alternative craving!
Dont worry, just try not to turn to food, drink more water and chew some gum, and whenever your hungry eat some fruit!
because in place of nicotine we replace it with food.
