I want to quit smoking so bad. But I cant seem to kick the habit.? -
I have idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Can be seen at www.pumonaryfibrosis.org and still smoke. I must be nuts. Can anybody tell me how to quit smoking in a way that really works. I have tried the patches, but they don-t work for me. This lung disease I have is fatal and can only get better with a lung transplant.

Help me to , i am so weak cant give up
I smoked for 3 years and then I could not stand it anymore and I finally quit because it was the taste and the smell that got to me. I got sick when I was smoking and took a drink of water and that was enough to quit. The taste of the water mixed with the cigarette was gross. That was years ago and I-d say that you have the power in your mind to do anything. It will be hard and you will want to go crazy but after a while you will win. It-s either that or die.

don-t quit cold turkey. just slowly eliminate the number of times you smoke. for example you smoke after every meal and you eat 3 times a day. stop smoking after lunch. after you get comfortable with that, stop smoking after dinner, and then after breakfast. and TA-DA you quit smoking!
don-t expect it to just happen, it will be frustrating and hard, but you must be strong. there are many programs out there to help you be strong and quit.

i smoked 30-40 aday until doctor told me i had chronic lung disease. i was going on holiday the next day to Italy so i didn-t take any cigarettes with me! I spent the entire holiday having so much fun that I didn-t give smoking a thought. when i came home i had been smoke free for 2 whole weeks and it was easier to cope with. it worked for me so why not give it a try. good excuse for getting away for a while. keep busy is the secret. I quit 2 months ago. It took me several tries and I am still getting nic fits. I have tried patches and the gum before, but this time it was cold turkey. The fits were so bad I had to take sleeping pills at night to get some sleep. Will power and self discipline is what it-s going to take. Constantly remind yourself why you are quitting.
Even try light meditation, visualize how much better it would be if you quit, and visualize what would happen if you got cancer and died slowly and painfully.
Just throw all them away and get over it *****- jk, just talk to a phycologist
if you dont put them in your mouth you want smoke them.If that dont work get the patch.
