If I quit smoking will my lungs always be black? -

PLEASE only Intelligent answers. Seriously if I quit smoking will my lungs always be black or will the go back to some sibilance of normal?
If you really want to quit smoking, take a look to a new perspective at:

http://stopsmoking.eu.pn/

It-s designed for everyone who seriously wants to stop smoking without the use of any drug nor patches, and It-s free.

This site tackles smoking from an addiction perspective; It doesn’t matter if you are a five a day teenager, or a one hundred a day pensioner, male or female, or if this is your first or fiftieth attempt at stopping, if you follow all instructions, certainly you-ll become a non-smoker.

The section -Long-Term Rewards- explains about the health benefits of quitting.
The lungs will eliminate the tar residue over time. Depending upon how much you smoke, and for how long, the process will happen ove a period of years. An average smoker will have an almost normal appearing rosy appearance to their lung tissue within 2 years.
Any damage done to your lungs wont be repaired however. So chronic Emphysema wont go away, it will however be greatly slowed. Unfortunately, the chances for lung cancer do not diminish if you have smoked for greater than 3 years, as the damage to the cells DNA is already done.
No, your lungs are not black unless you-re a coal miner. Smoking isn-t good for your lungs but it doesn-t really turn them black. Only about 10% of smokers will eventually die from lung cancer (although that is much higher than the rate for nonsmokers). Your lungs are probably in much better shape than you think and our bodies tend to be resilent.
Joshua, when I quit smoking I went online and found a list of things that happen to the body over time, after cessation. Do you know that your lungs are black? Have you had a scan? Have you been diagnosed with anything? Answers to that would change things because then it would depend on that particular ailment. I can tell you that the lists I had found made a difference for me. Here is one site that you can take a look at the list:

http://quitsmoking.about.com/cs/afterqui…

You will have to scroll down to see the information as well as other links to interesting sites. I also noticed a video on what happens after you quit smoking but did not check it out - it looks like it may be informative though.

Also, it really helped me to go to www.quitnet.com. They still send me updates and anniversary reminders and offer information and support. Nothing bad can come of quitting; good luck!
it depends on how long you use to smoke. if less than 2 years, your lungs will restore 85% more than if u hadnt started at all. basically, they will be SLIGHTLY black. but if you smoked for more than 2 years, your lungs will only recover 52%.
What makes you think your lungs are black ?
Is your mouth black as well ?
To answer your question your lungs will be normal the moment you stop.
as soon as you will quit smoking the immune system will come into picture for cleaning of diposited carbon and its compound from your lungs....... so dont worry and say thanks to nature
your lungs will gradually heal themselves, although it-s uncertain whether there is permanent damage that may show up later
The human body has an incredible way of healing itself if given the chance. Your lungs can improve in health if you treat them right.
yes but if you are to start excersising it should help them get to as healthy as a former smokers can be.
yeah its always be black..take good care about your healthy?

What is the best way to make your mother quit smoking ? -

let her know that smoking is really bad for her health and let her know that it bothers you when she smokes...explain to her the type of health problems that caused by smoking...my mother used to smoke..and we always tell her to stop smoking...we let her know that its a bad habit...that we care about her..and not ready to lose her as our mother..and its been 4 years that she-s a smoke- free...
Unfortunately, you can-t get your mom to quit. She has to want to quit. I used the patch and worked well. The kit came with a diary to find out when/why you want a cigaret. Also, diary tells you to treat yourself to something. Suggest buying your mom a day at the spa if she quits smoking for 30 days.
she-s got to want to do it. but if you tell her she is cutting your life short for her convienence is pretty selfish, and you might miss out on your grandkids weddings because you have second hand lung cancer because of her maybe she will feel guilty enough to quit.
see if you can find some other long white round things your mom will like sucking on
Well you can-t make her, no one can force someone to do something but you can try guilting her into stopping by giving her the statistics about lung cancer from secondary smoke. Dana Reeves, Christopher Reeves wife died a few months ago from 2nd hand smoke from working in a restaurant when she was younger, she was not a smoker and a very health conscious person. Make a list of all the people your mom might know that died from cancer and secondary smoke. Tell her how you hate her exposing you to health risks. My mother was in the hospital from pnemonia many times until the last one, she finally did quit but not before it damaged her for the rest of her life. I hope your mom does stop.
hide her ciggs or tell her how it makes you feel
I have the same problem.........sorry I really think there-s nothing we can do. The only thing i-d say is to be supportive of them when they decide to quit and don-t pestor them(I have to work on that)
u cant MAKE her!, she has to really want to and that is her choice, not yours.
You can-t make you mother stop smoking, she has to want to stop smoking.
They sell little kits at the drug store that have a plastic cigarette shaped tube and nicotine cartridges. They help you quit because you still get the hand to mouth thing..and you also get a bit of nicotine...but you aren-t actually smoking. After a while you just puff on the plastic cig and don-t bother putting another nicotine cartridge in...so you are just puffing air. It really works...I have tried it.
Your mom is her own boss. I know you care for her but there is not much you can do - sorry
tell her that for every pack of cigarettes she smokes in a day she will loose 2 teeth in 10 years...is a fact... but overall she needs to be the one wanting to quit
You cant make her quit smoking honey. All you can do is make sure she is well educated on the dangers etc and offer her all the support she needs to quit, the rest is up to her.
depends on how old are you and how old she is. when i was bout 5 i have nagged my mom to quit smoking, then when i got to about 16 and started smoking. she sure didnt like that, but then i guess my father was concerened with my health and made a bet who will quit smoking, he quit and i continued but i did stop after awhile and now im smoke free for good couple of months
Let her know how much you love her and are there to support her. Let her know that you need her! It doesn-t hurt to keep alot of gum and hard candy for her to eat on hand either.
u cant
it is her choice
if she wants to live long enough to see you grow she will quit but there is nothing you can do
sry
you starty smoking also more than she already does.

Why did my doctor tell me to quit smoking before my surgery? -

Why did my doctor tell me to quit smoking before my surgery? -

Smoking has bad influences on surgery for a variety of reasons. First, it is an airway irritant, so while you-re on the ventilator during surgery, you will have more copious secretions which can decrease your level of oxygenation. Secondly, cigarette smoke contains carbon monoxide which occupies the space on hemoglobin (the part of blood that carries oxygen) much more strongly than oxygen further reducing your oxygen carrying capacity. Thirdly, cigarette smoking damages the lung tissue itself decreasing the ability to exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide. All of these things could lead to you being unable to come off the ventilator immediately after surgery.

In the postoperative period, the wound and surgical sites need to heal. Healing relies on adequate oxygen delivery. Nicotine causes blood vessel constriction which impedes blood flow to healing tissues. This combined with the aboved mentioned reasons for low circulating oxygen combine to decrease wound healing significantly and can even result in breakdown of the surgical wound.

In general, you should stop smoking because it causes emphysema/chronic bronchitis, lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, esophageal cancer, stomach cancer, vascular disease, heart disease/heart attacks, is an expensive habit to maintain, and makes you smell bad.

Those are probably a few reasons he told you to quit smoking.
Smoking delays making u unconscious during surgery.
Because smoking is not good for you and it-s a stock answer that all doctors have. And because smoking can cause serious complications during surgery, especially for aenesthesia. Take his advice and quit. Surgery is as good a reason as any to use to stop.
you should just quit anyways!
It could impair your breathing. Smoking also causes your blood pressure to rise, so stopping before surgery will give them a normal baseline while you are under anesthesia. It also causes your heart to beat at an abnormal rate. So they just want to establish your baseline in all areas for your safety. Hope this helped
Smoking hinders your recovery from surgery. In some cases, it can keep you from healing.
smoking decreases blood circulation. This can prolong healing time. Depending on what kind of surgery your getting it causes serious complications. Definetly quit smoking. Plus if you have to stay in the hospital, you are unable to smoke there. I think that you should quit smoking for your health anyways, without the surgery.

What is the best way to quit smoking? -

I have been trying so hard to quit and it is soooo hard!
I have tried lozenges and don-t like them.
Please help!
Nicotine patches worked for me but they gave me very vivid bad dreams. Remove them before you go to bed and apply right after taking a shower in the morning if you have the dreams too.

Gum. I should buy stock in Trident. Chew the crap out of it when you-re craving. I also munched on baby carrots so I had something to do with my hands. That helped.

It-s really hard to unbreak the habit but keep at it and eventually you-ll be free.

Good luck!!!
I-ve tried many different ways to quit smoking including the gum, patches and cold turkey and I always found myself lighting up again. It was about 2 months ago when I started to have a quarter-life crisis because I was turning 25 and didn-t feel like I accomplished much. I decided I wanted to do something really important for myself and I have decided to quit smoking. Tomorrow is my birthday and the day I set for myself to quit. I-ve cut back a lot over the last 2 months and tomorrow I will no longer be smoking (cold turkey from cutting back). It-s my birthday gift to myself. My idea on how to quit may seem silly but it is working for me. Dig deep and discover a way that will really work for you.

Sometimes I really feel like I need a smoke, especially when I-m not keeping myself busy. I bought a sewing machine to keep my hands occupied and I try not to sit on the computer as much because it was one of my triggers.
You have to have your mind set on quitting. I have been smoke free since the new year and I feel awesome. Besides gaining a few pounds it was the best thing I-ve ever done for myself. I did it cold turkey after previously failing with patches. When you-re REALLY ready to quit it-s alot easier than you think. Good Luck!
Allow yourself another addiction to replace the one you-ve got. Some people choose gum, some booze (bad idea), some exercise. I chose food. *shrug*
I gave up on 8th August 2006 and I-m 20 pounds fatter than I was then. Now I-m working on weight loss but I-m as happy as a big fat non-smoking clam.
It-s the best thing you-ll ever do. :-)
There are other programs that can help you quit:

http://www.havetoquitsmoking.com/quit-sm…

That program is good at helping your break the habit mentally and physically.
I did it cold turkey. It is hard at first, but if you REALLY want to stop, cold turkey is best. Good luck.
Whenever you need a smoke, have a jelly bean.
to really want to quit, and go cold turkey
you shouldnt of started in the first place
dont do it.

How do I quit smoking?? -

Ive been smoking a little over a year and want to know how to quit. Everyone around me smokes so that makes it hard. Specially when smoking is like bonding time with my brother and my grandma.
Nicotine Gum helped alot for me. but then suddenly i ran out, and it was terribly awful withdrawal for about a week. then it kind of got a little better gradually. You could buy nicotine patches.....or nicotine gum or lozenges. There is a medicine called Chantix.....it substitutes for nicotine in the brain, binding to the nicotine binding sites. It might help you, because it can eliminate some of the withdrawal effects. It acts like nicotine in the brain. Your doctor might prescribe it.....or you could try Wellbutrin. but be aware that both have side effects. Wellbutrin can help because it is also an antidepressant, but it can cause some anxiety. Chantix has more negative effects, and has been associated with depression and mood disorders. Probably a good thing to do would be to get a low dose of Wellbutrin (doctors call it Zyban for smoking cessation) and continue to smoke/use nicotine gum......and gradually start weaning off of the nicotine. Usually, 1 piece of 2mg nicotine gum is equivalent to in between 1-3 cigarettes. nicotine gum is alot cheaper to purchase online....you can get 90 4mg pieces for about 15-20 $. its more expensive at the store. chamomile tea, or other relaxing herbs can help with smoking cessation. if you do choose to try wellbutrin, make sure you start out with the lowest dose, and don-t stop smoking immediately. do it slowly...... wellbutrin is a nicotinic antagonist. it does the opposite of nicotine in the brain. however it has antidepressant and stimulating effects, releasing dopamine and norepinephrine like nicotine.

Do research about the negative effects that smoking has on your body. Once you find out how much it ages you, will cost you in medical expenses in the future, turns off most of the opposite sex, etc. it will help you realize how much you need to quit. Refer to that info when you feel like you need a puff.
cold turkey just put them away
first of all, congratulations on wanting to quit smoking. It is hard to do. I used Zyban (mild antidepressant) for 2 weeks then used the nicotine patch(that is when you actively don-t smoke) While you start the Zyban, you gradually go down on the nicotine--from full strength to lights etc. Within weeks of quitting, your taste buds will come back and your sense of smell is better. You may cough alot--just think of it as a cleansing out period. You may feel cranky, thats ok too. Take care and best wishes. Cathy
Kill yourself
Hello Janet,

My wife smoked for over 10 years and when she found out that she was pregnant with our now newborn 3 months old daughter, she had promised me that if I found a good solution for quitting, she will try her best to kick the habit.

Well in my spare time I started researching online for quit smoking programs, meanwhile she was trying out patches and gums that you can buy at grocery stores and adventually they would not work for her.

After about a week of researching I had stumbled over a website that really impressed me on what they had to offer and that they actually say that they can almost guarantee your success, and most importantly that you can try it out for free.

The company has been around for over 20 years now and they have helped over a million smokers quit since and their kit has everything that you possibly need to help you quit smoking, I thought WoW that is impressive.

I went ahead and ordered the free trial for my wife (only paid for shipping) and she has quit smoking in just two weeks and she doesn-t want to hear about or smell another cigarette again in her life :)

Now it is up to you, but since my wife has quit, I was so happy about her success, so much so that I had built a small review site of the product to also help other people quit, you can check it out at;
http://endthehabitnow.com
if you want to find out more.

P.S. Also available for Canada.

Thanks for reading my short story, I hope it helps, good luck and stay healthy.
Smoke a cheap menthol cigarette.

Ugh. Those are horrible. That-s what my friend did to quit. She-s been off cigarettes for six years now.

What worked for me: I just sat and smoked through as many cigarettes as I could in one sitting, until I threw up. Now, even just the smell of cigarettes makes me want to throw up.
Self Control and Discipline and always think that smoking will ONLY cause BAD for your health and it will kill you slowly!!!!
Remember Take care of yourself not for your own but for people around you who-s love you and care for you.

-- Chew bubble gum than smoke!! =)
I quit smoking one year and 23 days ago, but who-s counting?!

First, I asked my doctor about some medication. The quit smoking pills are rather expensive and insurance doesn-t cover them (which is a whole other can of worms for me!) There are other alternatives to those, though. The popular Zyban is the same exact thing as the nerve pill, Wellbutrin. My doctor was happy to prescribe this to me for depression, and what do you know, I quit smoking too! You take the pill for two weeks and set a quit date.

Some tips for you:

Write down every single reason you want to quit smoking. Even the little silly ones. Some of mine were obviously health reasons, expense, the offense, I was stinky, my teeth were yellow, my daughter started smoking sucker sticks and Cheetos, moral reasons. The list went on and on. Write down every single reason you can think of.

Write down what triggers you to smoke and how you will combat them. For example, I liked to smoke when I talked on the phone. Instead of smoking, I started doodling. I kept a pad and paper next to the phone and doodled. This only last for a few weeks before the habit was broken. After meals, I still to this day have a sweet to complete my meal instead of a cigarette. Having a cigarette first thing in the morning, I changed my entire morning routine. You will also probably want to change your routine for a lot of things, as most smokers actually smoke on a schedule. Riding in the car, this was a tough one. I actually quit smoking in the car before I actually quit, because I knew this one was going to be tough. I knew I could have a smoke at my destination, so it wasn-t so bad to not smoke in the car. Then I just sort of broke the habit. And I chew lots and lots of gum to help with the oral fixation - sugar free of course! Remember to write down anything that triggers you to smoke.

Reward yourself! Make a game of it! Tell your family and friends how important it is for you, and I-m sure they will join in on the festivities. Reward yourself for one week, two weeks, one month, then each month after that. I made a game of it for myself, to see how long I could go. Your rewards can be anything from a cheeseburger to a nice dinner out.

Remember, you can-t even take as much as one little puff of a cigarette as this will most certainly push you back into smoking. If you smoke a puff, you may as well smoke a cigarette, and if you smoke one, you may as well buy -just one- pack, and then it-s a domino effect after that!

Best of luck to you! I know if I can quit smoking, anybody can! It-s one of the hardest things I-ve ever done, but it-s also one of my proudest accomplishments!
take a full pack o cigg-s and place all 20 into a half glass of water and let them sit in the glass a couple of hours (stir a couple of times also) when its been 2 hours filter out the paper, tobacco, and filters into another glass. and finally get the glass, hold your nose if you have too and drink the tobacco flavored water. i-ll guaranty you that after you will never smoke a cigg again after what you would go through.
My boss has had great success with using the new medication that they have come out with. He has been smoke free for over 3 months now and he has been off of the medication for over a month.

What is the best way to quit smoking cigarettes for good? -

Any over the counter medications? Home remedies, anything.... I have some commit lozenges and nicotine gum. I am 25 and have been smoking off and on since 15 and heavily since 19. It is time to quit! Any advice from former smokers (or non-smokers if you have any good tips!) would be greatly appreciated. I plan to quit tomorrow.
hi mike...

first of all congratulations on your decision to to quit, it a real big deal.. i smoked for over 40 years, the last 5 of which were one failed quit attempt after another... in general i have used most of the arsenal of replacement products, medications, and other techniques.. and always picked up again..

the good news is that i now have been quit for over 5 years.. i quit trying to quit alone, and joined a support group.. i attend nicotine anonymous meetings both locally and on line.. on line voice meetings are as close as your computer, and you can attend while still smoking, before actually attempting a quit.. however you decide to quit good luck, there is simply no wrong way to quit!!

Nicotine Anonymous is a Non-Profit 12 Step Fellowship of men and women helping each other live nicotine-free lives. Nicotine Anonymous welcomes all those seeking freedom from nicotine addiction, including those using cessation programs and nicotine withdrawal aids. The primary purpose of Nicotine Anonymous is to help all those who would like to cease using tobacco and nicotine products in any form. The Fellowship offers group support and recovery using the 12 Steps as adapted from Alcoholics Anonymous to achieve abstinence from nicotine.
I have been smoke free since April 27, 2009. I used the patch. I smoked at least a pack a day for about 12 years and less than a pack a day for about 12 years before that. So collectively I smoked for 24 years. My boyfriend just used the electronic cigarette to quit. He tried the patch and it didn-t work for him.

The sure way to quit: You HAVE to be ready and have safe guards in place. Like, I still carry a patch in my purse -just in case-. I had tried dozens of times to quit previously and how I failed: Having a cigarette ready -just in case- and ignoring my last cigarette.

Make sure you smoke -your last cigarette- and make a big deal about it. Say, this is my last cigarette. I am a non smoker. However you decide to quit, have safeguards and support. Keep up your normal routines. Just omit the parts that include you lighting up.
I have a really good friend that smokes and we work together. I made it a point, my first day as a non smoker, to still go out at break with her. I had my patch and the smell was wonderful and gross at the same time. But it helped. I think if I had the option and knew about it at the time; I would have chosen the electronic cigarette. You exhale atomized water. It-s really cool. It-s going to be difficult; you are going to be stressed. But you can do it. Good luck!
I smoked for 13 yrs. And I had to quit 3 times before it took. Best advice.. no gums no patches. All that stuff is gimmicks. Personally I have never seen it work. When I finally quit.. I got rid of the ciggies I had left, put water on them then in the trash. Lighters and ashtrays in the trash. And I went cold turkey. Every person I have ever known successful to quit has done cold turkey. I don-t think any gimmicks will work.. you just gotta do it. It feels bad for the first three days and then you start getting over it. Some folks I know have taken off work and basically stayed in bed and basically treated themselves as if they had a bad flu.
The secret to stop smoking, is not to stop at all. The secret is to start smoking a healthy cigarette. Here is a healthy cigarette that can help you stop smoking tobacco. It has no cancer causing substances, no secondhand smoke, no bad smells, no ash, no tar. You can choose with or without nicotine.

Here it is:
http://www.greensmoke.com/bestprice

Have fun smoking, without worries.
I-ve tried just about every method there is out there and there is only one I can recommend - NLP! It eliminates the cravings.
Gum patches and all the other just did not cut it for me, not to mention cold turkey which was the hardest, I even tried the electric cig and it is just no match to the real thing.
Check out this article:

it’s the one that got me off the cigs and smoke free for GOOD even without gaining weight! :)

Good luck kicking the habit!
Matthew.
I recommend cutting down gradually until your quit date. I did this. I cut down to half a pack. I did this for three months. I smoked by the puff, not by the cigarette. I took only the amount of nicotine that was necessary to satisfy my urge to smoke and put the rest of the cigarette out.

After doing this for three months I quit cold turkey.

Now I-m eating more candy to distract me but its been 11 months. I have urges but they don-t last more than a second or two. If they-re lasting more than that then you-re concentrating on the cigarette. Don-t do it. Concentrate on something else.
Why wait until tomorrow? Setting dates to quit and setting new year-s resolutions don-t work. You don-t need a time frame. If you want to quit, you just do it. Work out a plan. I was a smoker and I dealt with quitting day by day until I realized that I spent 7 years without smoking. You seem pretty determined to quit and that is your strength in succeeding.
okay... u want u quit smoking in 1 day,it may not be possible,so u better use e cigarettes, meanwhile try to decrease the number of puffs u take.if u stop smoking all at a time it will show effect on ur nerves
As it always goes with the smokers, their craving for nicotine is hard to be overcome. Every smoker swears that he will quit the habit -tomorrow- and forever, but it never happens. In my case, however, my physician had advised me to stop smoking as I suffered from migraines continuously for days and I had to miss my work. His prescription drugs only made me physically and mentally worse and soon I was out of my daily routine. I discontinued the drugs and continued to smoke as usual. One of my old friends told me to buy smoke deter to quit smoking.

I knew there were some supplements claiming to create an aversion to smoking, like -smoking aid-, -quit smoking in 7 days-, -anti smoking pill,- etc. The owners of suchlike products were making money by exaggerating the facts. I had tried some of these products but I did not find anything worthwhile in them and I was reluctant to buy smoke deter as one of such type of supplements.

One day, I got up from my seat in the middle of some important point in a meeting and went out to smoke a cigarette. My same old friend who was attending the meeting again advised me to buy smoke deter this time to give it a try.

I read the full details about smoke deter and came to know that unlike other supplements, it was purely a homeopathic combination and did not have any side effects. The supplements I had used had caused burning and inflammation in my mouth. Though, I was doubtful about it being safe to use, I bought it just to see if it worked as my health was seriously running down. I had its first dose in the form of a spray under my tongue and it tasted a little bit like alcohol mixed with something like a flower essence, which was relishing.

I used the remedy as per directions put on the label but didn-t find any effect on me. I was smoking as usual and I was very much worried about what to do further. In frustration, I discontinued its use and was thinking of some other alternative like self-hypnosis to boost my confidence to quit the habit at once. But after a few days, I did felt its effect and whenever I wanted to smoke, I found there was not an intense urge like before. It is more than a year now I haven-t smoked a single cigarette.

The smoke deter is free from any crude herbal substances and it contains only herbal dilutions in tincture form or in potency to act mildly on human organism and some dilutions in 200c to affect the mental sphere to get rid of the habit of smoking.

Check the url in the source box below for a free trial and also more info about this product. It seems to confirm some of my comments and is dedicated to helping smokers improve their health, fitness and beat the smoking habit.

How do I quit smoking, fast? I am a christian so theres that aspect and i have asthma, please help? -

u can try to use nicotine patches for some time (as perscribed on the label) this will help u overcome the psychological addiction/craving...during this time try to get into new habits, hobbies, interests etc..
when u finish the perscribed dose, beat the physical addiction by staying away from smokers, avoiding places with smoking there, do something u like to do, distract urself, exercise etc
u might have some symptoms from withdrawal like headache and irritation.. use mild pain killers and use relaxation techniques or meditation ...
i would also suggest that during this time save the money u-ld normally spend on ciggies and then when u succeed u will end up with a good amouont of money, reward urself and buy something that u really wanted...but dont do it unless u r completely over smoking..
overall it-s not gonnna be very easy but with courage it can be done..

hope this helps
don-t light them-- its just willpower you need--------- good luck.
Put out the one you are smoking, and don-t light up again, It won-t be easy, but it-s fast and it can be done. Good luck
The only real help I can give is my own experience.
I went along with a saying from the old days that if you can manage to quit and hold out for three days, you can make it I tried it seventeen years ago and it worked.
I really struggled after the three days but I managed to get past it.
I started telling myself after the three days I am not going back to that nasty habit.
I noticed for almost a year that I would get a little twinge of feeling that i wanted a puff, but I got by it by reminding myself how hard it was to quit. I did not judge what others did as far as smoking, I remembered that it is legal.
Do not try to reform other smokers because you will turn out miserable.
Try not to become a reformer, just a person who does not smoke. You are a Christian, so am I. Ask Jesus to help, he will. I can be around a person who smokes now, I don-t make a big deal of it, I just remove myself as soon and politely as I can. As a reformed smoker, the stuff actually stinks to me now.
Decide that you want to quit.
Seek help from your county health department office. Many of them have stop smoking campaigns.
Ask God for help and strength for the next few days. God does answer prayers about this.
Nicotine gum. Chewing tobacco has chemicals that cause cancer far worse than cigarettes. Chew that gum when you need to, Nicotine isn-t the agent that kills you (cancerwise, I dont think), even though is is more toxic than rat poison. Just dont overdose on the gum, Nicotine is toxic. That is my advise.
Just stop! If you feel like you-re going to punch someone in the face, try nicotine gum to take the edge off for a few days.
Clinical hypnotherapist, nicotine gum, and support groups. Good luck and do it NOW! Asthma and smoking? Recipe for disaster!!!
Just stop and stay away from smokers
I am in the same boat, and I agree. Just quit and that will be that. It isn-t easy at the best of times, and even harder to do when there are three other smokers in the house. They talk about nicing out, or they announce that they are going for a smoke. It is tough, but I will be free of that nasty habit, and they will be paying 20 bucks a pack, slowly killing themselves, having yellow teeth, and horrible breath. So when I look at it that way, I am willing to go through the withdraws to better myself.
p.s. I am rooting for you.
CyberNara
It wont be that fast, but if you are VERY DEDICATED...you would stop!!! Also, pray to God...
is to decide to quit ...
Jesus did not smoke. You should not smoke either. If you smoke you will die soon. You will also be poor. There is plenty of free help for you in the community.
What does being christian have to do w/it?
You have to quit, and if you are a christian, you would get the strength from God. You know your body is the temple, and have other christians pray for you.
Once you make up your mind to quit, you will. It doesn-t mean it-s easy, but nothing worthwhile is. Even if there were no health issues, why would anyone want to smell like that?
what does your religion have to do with smoking
buy ur self some nicotine gum - hav a big chew , ya -a really big chew-
brush your teeth every time you feel the urge to smoke .sounds weird , but , it worked for me ... also pick up the patches , they help too .
you can quit smoking by diverting your concentration by anmean but should be good mean, ok.
how fast? u shold quit it as you start how fast u learn to smoke?
no religion advised to smoke , so if u r a christian there is nothing to do with it. if u smoke u will get the reflection at the end of ur life.
becuase even i was chain smoker, but i left it because i want to proof myself the i can be adict to it in the same way i can get out from it.
so what is my advise is there is no need to proof yourself with others or asthma reasons. just do for urself, u can get confident in ur life to live in better life.
best of luck
u cant quit right away..try, if u smoke 5 sticks a day, try reducing it to one stick a day then eventually, u get use to not smoking anymore,u get tired of it..also keep yourself motivated..how??think of the harmful causes of smoking to your health..
bad breath,bad odor
How do I quit smoking, fast? I am a christian so theres that aspect and i have asthma, please help? -

will power....n nothing else...n also spending time in places where smoking is not allowed....n oh drinking water should help too.
Prayer, and eats lots of health finger foods to satisfy the oral fixation. Change your routine, like if you usually smoke and drink coffee first thing in the morning....change to take a shower, eat breakfast and brush your teeth. Rearrange your furniture, buy new seat covers for your car....basically try to make your new environment look different so it doesn-t remind you of smoking. Get a new haircut....and limit time spent with others who smoke for a while, buy some whitening strips for your teeth and if you can afford it, go and splurge by getting your teeth professionally whitened. Change everything around that revolved around you smoking and PRAY like crazy. My best to you!!!
I have been one week without smoking and certainly not out of the woods yet! First of all and number one is you have to really want to quit and your will power is no. 1 to attain your goal.

Now you will have to eliminate some other habits that you really related to smoking. Like sitting down and enjoying a cup of coffee with a smoke. Change your choice of drink with something like apple juice. Apple juice cleanses your body of impurities and smoking doesn-t taste very good with it, so it is a natural deterrent.

I have heard that eating licorice or chewing spearmint makes smoking yukky. So when you have the urge to grab a cig. stick a piece of licorice in your mouth and let it just sit there until dissolved, this really does help.

Who is the stronger of you? What you really want? Or well, next year and give in? NOT EASY! But if you really want to quit you will be able to master quitting.
You could try brushing your teeth often. The feeling of having fresh breath and clean teeth will deter you from smoking immediately after. =P Good luck!
Pls let me know if u r convinced with any answers u get.
How bout you dont buy smokes!
Chantix. It-s a pill. It has a 44% rate of succesful quiting.
i used chantix it costs alot, but not more than the cigs. it helped with the anxiety cigs were a form of self soothing 4 me but chantix really helped. you would need a prescription. also i exercised this allowed me to really feel my lungs become healthier. tootsie pops till i broke the oral fixation. ooh 44% that good placibos have a 33% suscess rate.
focus yourself in other things..... instead of picking a stick of ciggarette you should drink alot of liquids like juices or cokes. Do things you love....
Champix in Australia and Chantix in America are both the same actually and are supposed to have a success rate of 40%.

There is no one best way. What works for one person will not always work for another. But you have to have the will and the want to to quit, or you will be wasting time and money. Some people swear by going cold turkey, others say the gum or patches work. There is even a pill the doctor can give you that may make you quit. Whatever you choose, stick to it, and if you slip up, don-t give up, just start to quit again. It takes some people many tries over a long period of time to finally kick the habit. Good luck!
by not smoking.
Just throw away the pack of cigerattes you have with you !! Cannot quit by reducing the number of smokes - you have to stop . Smoking is only physical dependence - there wont be any problem whatsoever ! Stay away from friends who smoke - they will never let you quit !!
Cold turkey.
Just make up your mind that you don-t want to be a smoker anymore and quit.
The key is that you are truly quitting because you truly want to...not because somebody else wants you to...not because of some vague sense that it might be bad for you...not because you feel guilty about exposing other people to second-hand smoke...YOU HAVE TO WANT TO QUIT!
It won-t be easy, but that is the best way.
You should see your Dr. It really depends on how much you smoked and how long together you guys can pick a solution because it isn-t easy to quit. I quit a few months ago and I still crave like mad. I used cranberry juice for the cravings at work and it helped alot more than I expected, but you will need lots of things to do for those times you usually smoked. Hope this helps. Good Luck
I carry an all natural herbal product that works great! I-ve used it myself, and have to say it-s taken a three pack a day smoker to quit cold turkey with out withdrawls. Check it out on www.kasscabel.com Fill out our free repiratory form to get a customized product suggestion, info, and pricing.

Has anyone taking Chantix to help them quit smoking? And how was your experience while taking it.? -

I read some scary stuff on line about this drug Know I-m not sure if I want to take it.So I figured I would ask to see what other peoples experience was while taking this I tried Zyban before and had bad side effects with it got the gitters really bad while on it.
i,ll date my self, i smoked for 49 years . started chantix 5 mo. ago . have smoked 3 since i-ve been on chantix . i don-t get around a lot of people that smoke ,so it is easier for me . stopping chantix this mo. always take them after eating some thing . don-t wash them down with soda . the re son i quit is i saw a xray of my lungs .--------good luck .have had no bad side effects
Both my parents took Chantix and both have had different experiences.
My mom took it, and felt agitated, naseous, and wasn-t able to quit.
My father took it and felt happy, healthy, and hasn-t had one in almost a year.

It all depends on the person I guess. Everyone reacts differently, especially if you are currently taking other types of medication regularily.
A friend of mine tired it and stopped after a couple days. He ended up quitting cold turkey. I have tried to quit and I couldn-t do it that way. I tried the nicotine patches which I actually liked a lot, but I was living with roommates that smoked and it was like a bonding experience to go out on the balcony and talk and smoke so I blew it.

Ever try the quot;Quit Smoking Todayquot; hypnosis program by Robert Mellor? -

I just purchased this MP3 and wanted to give it a try. I was wondering if anyone had any first hand experience with this and could give me their opinion. The reviews online are great. It does not come with instructions though. Do i quit first and then listen to the audio, or do I just listen and then I will want to quit? Any help, advice, or first hand accounts would be greatly appreciated.
You can not be hypnotized against your will or if you are a resistant subject.

To be hypnotized you have to be willing and wishing.

Apparently hypnosis has worked for some people.
I have tried it. Just listen and you-ll want to quit. You-ll realize how great Robert Mellor is. Robert Mellor deserves all your money. Robert Mellor touches me at night. Robert Mellor is a god on earth. All hail Robert Mellor.

Is cutting down a good way to quit smoking? -

I use to smoke almost a pack a day, but now I-m down to less than 4 a day. I also switched over to light cigaretts and don-t cover up the holes in the filter, or take longer drags. Is this a good way to eventually quit smoking?
I think it is! That exactly what I did, smoked for 30 years too. Just keep setting small realistic goals for yourself. One thing that helped me completely stop was that I never told myself that -I was NEVER going to smoke again...- I-ve always thought that I could have a smoke if I ever wanted to - but now I-m just not interested in it.

Improving my diet and getting some physical activity and enough sleep, plus drinking enough water helps tremendously too.

Cheers,
BB
In my opinion no it is not. Depends how you feel about waiting for your next cigarette, if you focus on it and find it difficult to wait for or find yourself checking the time until you can smoke it, then you will probably never stop that way. Letting go of those last few cigarettes is very difficult if you have no other way of preparing to stop. I tried cutting down several times and usually levelled out at about 8 a day. Take the plunge and just stop, prepare yourself, think of as many reasons to stop as you can, write them down. Pick a day and go for it and don-t look back because that is the day you become free from smoking.
it depends on what works for u ive tryied everything out on the market ( gum, patch, pill etc.) and it all depends on ur desire to quit (whether u really want to or not and have the will power) if uve done this well on cutting back u might want to mark a day on ur calender as a -quit date- and when that day come just stop and after u get past ur first week it will slowly get a lil easier but u will still crave and may be a lil grouchy
no because your craving will just be worse when you finally decide to quit. get on the gum and follow the directions. it can help if you really want to quit smoking
yes just cut down one cigarette every week or 2 weeks and and eventually you will be to no cigaretts

How soon after quitting smoking does the shortness of breath go away? -

How soon after quitting smoking does the shortness of breath go away? -

This question is for former smokers. If a person stops smoking, how soon afterward will the shortness of breath go away if that person is otherwise healthy and fit? Also, how soon will taste return?
First of all, if you just quit smoking, CONGRATULATIONS. You did yourself a big favor.

You should start expecting your taste and smell to start improving after 48 hours. This process will be gradual but after 9-14 days your sense of taste will return to normal. Your smelling ability will wait till your cough clears up. This could take up to 4 weeks, depending on how much do your lungs exercise.

Shortness of breath will start getting better 72 hours after your quit but it depends on your activity level. If you do yoga ( kapalbhati -
http://www.how-to-quit-cigarettes.com/yo…
) you could see great results in less than 10 days. Alternatively vigorous running, jogging, and cardio will help your lungs clear up soon and your breathing will become -better- between 5-7 days). It might take up to a month for a fit person who exercises regularly to get back his/her breathing to normal.

The above values may vary based on your weight, the number of cigarettes you smoked every day before quitting and the number of years you smoked before you quit.

Just remember, once you start feeling better, use that as your motivation to stay smoke free.

( I smoked for 18 years and quit when I was 30 which means I smoked for more than half my age. After quitting I realized that I never had a reason to smoke, it only did bad to me and all the good things like increasing concentration, releasing stress, etc was only BS and lies that I told myself. My concentration is way more than it ever was, I am a lot happier, more energetic and stress free, ever since I quit smoking. So once you quit, there actually is no reason for you to go back to smoking. THINK AGAIN.)
Can-t really say, as I started exercising and stuff at the same time, and I wasn-t exactly measuring my shortness of breath every day. I wouldn-t recommend quitting with the expectation of feeling better soon -- a watched kettle never boils, as they say, and you-ll probably get frustrated and go back to smoking.

All I can tell you is that I felt better sooner than I expected, and that I-ve always been glad I quit.
That will depend on whether or not there is permanent damage to your lungs. If you have smoked long enough to have emphysema, you might always have some shortness of breath. Otherwise, you should start seeing improvements in just a month or two. Taste can take longer but it should be back within a year.
You-re going to be short of breath if you are just starting a workout program anyway. Dunno how long it takes to come back. But I-m a smoker, and I run 3 miles a day, no problems. Just do what you gotta do, don-t blame the cigarettes. Quit if you want to (you should), but shortness of breath isn-t from the cigarettes, it-s from you working past your ability.
I am on day 7 of quitting. I have noticed that my smell is super sensitive and that food does seem to have more flavor but it does not seem to be that much of a difference.

I have read that it takes different amount of time for different people. Exercise helps and breathing exercises

I am also using a support group that I love.
depends on the person, how much they smoked...
it took my hair dresser almost 2 yrs. (she smoked for 20 yrs...) it took my boss 18 mnths. (she died from lung cancer) it took my mother-in-law about 2 yrs (then she got cancer and COPD..she-s still alive though, but stuck in the house on oxygen 24/7)
My parents both died before THEY stopped. (my dad was 48 yrs old by 10 days, my mother 54.)
I smoked 2 packs a day for over 20 years before I quite 5 years ago...

I am still out of breath... you see, I waited to long.... I now have COPD and have to use oxygen 24/7, but I-m hanging in there....

But to answer your question... about six weeks before you notice any real difference in breathing.... and my taste has, for the most part, stayed the same.

GOOD LUCK !!!
in about a year all the effects should be minimal or unnoticeable. it depends on how much you smoked and for how long.
God bless and congrats on stopping.
It takes months for me to get better for shortness of breath, but it-s getting better. Stop smoking will stop further damages to your body, it-s TRUE. Good luck!
Took me about two three weeks. I can ride my bike for hours now and not feel like I am going to die cause I can-t get enough air. I still need to train my lungs better after 5 years of killing my lungs!
about a year

I have been smoking for a while now, I am scared that it will hurt my baby, i want to stop but it is so hard, also I am scared that when I stop that there will be more stress and that will hurt my baby, What should I do?
Cut down slowly, dont let yourself go into withdrawl all at once.
Find something else to keep you occupied...maybe exercise? Cooking...something like that. If you are working out, you will want to be healthier in order to feel better.
Just dont expect it to happen all at once...cut down, even 1 a day, until you are not smoking barely at all. Also, clean your house, and dont smoke inside. That should help
Whenever you feel like you want a cigarette, have something else. For instance my friend ate an apple every time she wanted one. Haha. You don-t have to do that but do you understand? SHe quit smoking in under 4 months!

My son is 12 and he smokes cigarettes, cigars, marijuana, and cigarillos like theres no tomorrow!!!! i have taken him to jail, hes been locked up for 24 hours, he just doesnt get the clue.. i need some help and advice...
Pray, always show him you love him, never agree with him smoking, not even if you think he-ll do the contrary. If my dad would have agreed with me smoking, I-d be smoking even today, but I have stopped a long time ago.
Try to keep him busy, very busy, talk to his freinds and see if they are willing to help. Friends are important in a decision like this.
Give him a lot of fruit.
Hope it works!
You-ll have a tough time forcing him to quit. All of that is addictive, and I suspect he is doing much of this for attention (or was until he got hooked on nicotine)

As below, cut off his cash and watch who he hangs out with. You might want to hang out with him more as well. If his time is filled with other activities, he-ll have less chance to smoke and make other mischief.
None of those things are free. He is twelve years old. Where does he get his money? If it is from you, maybe you should think about cutting him off. His friends might front him for a while, but it won-t be long before they cut him off also.
first of all good luck, keep trying and burn his smokes, if that doesnt work have him lock up again. or boot camp for kids.
You can get in trouble for a minor doing that. I would suggest boot camp, look online and Im sure you can find one.
i suspect there is trouble in your home, more specifically you, if he behaves this way. you need to change first, by loving and respecting yourself first (it seems that you are not the most sensitive or most diplomatic person as displayed by some of your answers, to say the least) and eventually everything including your son will follow your example.
For some, nicotine is needed for a missing receptor in the brain. This was discovered when a shrink noticed certain of his patients were chain smokers. Is he depressed or hyper? That could be your clue that he needs medication. If he-s doing it just to annoy you, well, I can-t help you there.

In General, how many days before quit smoking to go for plastic surgery.? -

i have left smoking before 10 day-s of plastic surgery. is there any effect on surgery.
Yes there is an effect. The healing process is much slower in smokers. This is due (in part) that carbon monoxide that you inhale with smoking, will attach to the red blood cells where oxygen needs to be. Oxygen is important to the healing process.

Smoking also robs the body of certain nutrients that are needed for normal function and injury/wound healing.

I say the sooner you quit the better and consider not restarting afterword.

Good luck
you should go to: http://www.cosmedicjetaways.com

They have a full section on how bad it is to smoke or be a smoker before surgery.

10 days is not enough, you should have planned this months ago.

smoking is bad for skin and it is essential for a good recovery process, it takes 6 weeks to clear the effects of smoking from skin.

and to do that you need to drink lots of water, 2 litres daily.

dont listen to surgeons advice, use a website like http://www.cosmedicjetaways.com

since they are not trying to get customers the same month, and bookings are usually 6 months in advance and they give all warnings and careful planning before hand.

this way you get to prepare for surgery, and the best results.

How long after you quit smoking does it take for the colds and cough to go awaygt;? -

I quit 9 days ago and my hacking cough is still here, i sound like a 70 year old woman cuz my voice is all jacked up and croaky...I feel like I have sinus problems now too.... and my lungs hurt!! WHen does it all end-????
It-s withdrawl, wait for the nicotine to pass through. What I-d reccomend (helped my mom) is get a hobby. For her, it was puzzels. Got her mind off the symptoms. That or go to a support group, my mom got sick, and dizzy from quitting, although she got through it. If I remember correctly it took a month for all the symptoms to really die down. Although they peeked at the 2nd week.
congratulations! You are inspiring me to keep trying!

hmm well i used to smoke and i never recovered i geuss that really is the companys goals to ruin people live like i ruined mine
It will get worse before it gets better, because your body is trying to get rid of the irritants that have been in your lungs the whole time you were smoking. It should go away completely within 3 months, but it may take several weeks to see improvement. If it doesn-t, see a doctor.
first off, kudos to you on quitting smoking.

so, in general and in simple terms, here is a way to breakdown how your body will improve after you quit smoking.

within 20 minutes of your last cigarette:
blood pressure and pulse rate drop to normal (depending on exercise tolerance)
body temperature of hands and feet increase to normal

within 8 hours:
carbon monoxide level in blood drops to normal
oxygen level in blood increases toward normal

within 24 hours:
chance of a heart attack begins to decrease

within 48 hours:
nerve endings begin to regrow
sense of smell and taste begin to improve

within 72 hours:
lung capacity begins to increase
bronchial tubes begin to relax
both of which allow you to breathe easier

within 2 weeks to 3 months:
circulation improves
lung function increases up to 30%
walking/exercise becomes easier

within 1 to 9 months:
energy level increases
cough and sinus congestion decreases
fatigue and shortness of breath decrease

after 5 years:
lung cancer death rate decreases

after 10 years:
lung cancer death rate is almost equivalent to the rate of a non-smoker

hope this helps, and good luck to you
Congratulations on quitting!! You have to expel it all from your lungs. it can take up to 2 months for you to clear it all up, but it also depends on how long you smoked..
Good luck and keep at it!!
It will get worse before it gets better.I have been 5 months and my lungs are finally feeling better than they have in a long time.I can work out longer and harder and I have put on 10 lbs of muscle.I have also put on 10 lbs of bellyfat. But you know what,I feel much better being 5-6- tall and weighing 175lbs than I did smoking and being 155lbs.Your lungs are cleaning themselves out and that is why you are experiencing these things.Suck it up and deal with it and you will be happy with the result.By the way congrats on quitting.I smoked for 22 years.
Be patient, be very very patient. I quit 8 months and 11 days ago. I still get the irritating morning cough every other day and sometimes accompanied by a lot of mucous. I smoked for 22 years, so I figured I won-t be coughing all of that crap up in a real short amount of time. Good luck and congrats on kickin- the habit!!!!!!
it really depends on the person is healthy and all that stuff

Ive quit smoking and am using patches. Its been 2 days. How long til it gets easier? -

I smoked about 20 a day and its still pretty tough but the patches help. I find myself going into a daze and find it hard to concentrate. How long does this last???
It doesn-t matter how hard it is, it is SO worth it! Just imagine how hard it is telling a loved one you have cancer. Keep going X
Honey, I am in the same boat. It-s been 2 months and it is getting better. The daze lasts a while. When you find yourself dazing, try jumping up and down really quick. Gets the blood pumping and knocks you back into reality. You can always call a quit line for support but I don-t like to talk to them. Take deep breaths...oxygen is euphoric in large does. Try putting cotton into a straw and inhaling through it. It really does help. Good luck hon! Don-t let it control you. You-re in charge.
about 2 weeks but you probably get cravings till you die depending on how long you-ve smoked for.

It-s my stong opinion that it takes a full year of smoking to get properly hooked.
Usually quiting something like this takes around 2 weeks to get easier. I quit smoking a year ago and still get the odd craving now and again, but I just put my mind somewhere else.
seems to vary from one person to another. i-ve heard some people say it got much easier after just a couple of weeks. for me it was a few months b4 it started getting anything that could be called anywhere close to easy... it DOES get easier though! stick with it!
after i got to about a year i finally reached a point where i pretty much never even thought about it any more.
when i quit i found it helped me to, instead of constantly telling myself that i couldn-t have any more, keep telling myself that i can wait a few more min... a few more min... i might not be strong enough to think about forever, but i-m strong enough to get by without a smoke for a few more min... then a few more... and a few more.... until the minutes turn into days and weeks and months... good luck to you
I am on day 4, cold turkey, no patches, nothing. I had insomnia first 3 nights, and i am getting headaches, like hangover feeling, without having had a drink. It`s nicotine withdrawal, it only lasts a week or two, my hubby gave up 9 months ago, so i know what to expect. Just stick with it, it will get easier, knowing you are not the only one helps as well, i am going through it here, but determined to quit for good. You will feel wierd for a while, spaced out, but it will pass, couple of weeks maybe. Good luck!!
Unfortunately it varies from person to person. It could take a week it could take a month. Whatever you do, don-t be discouraged and don-t gage yourself by someone else-s time frame. You are you. Good luck, I know it-s not easy, believe me I know.
Keep on your path and you will eventually get over the feeling. After it-s over, then you-re done. It might take quite a while to get over it. I don-t smoke but i am trying to quit drinking as much soda pop every now and then, and it-s tough. So, you just have to hang on a little more. Remember, if you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything.
for me about 2 weeks
It takes alot longer then that dude i know.
I was smoking 3 packs a day and quit cold turkey maybe 10-12 years ago. The first two months were the roughest. I still think I want a smoke once in a while. Then I smell one and know the damn things stink and just smelling it turns my stomach. Hang in there. You have to be stronger than the craving. When it gets bad, if your able, go for a walk, jog, run then drink plenty of water. Just get over the hump without giving in. Cravings peak, then level out. When I stopped smoking I was coughing up blood. Today my chest exrays look fine. Remember the damn things are 1) killing you 2) killing anyone you smoke around. 3) expensive
sob dont know cos i just lapsed...
According to the research on cravings, the worst cravings are the first three days with NO Nicotine. If you are using patches, you are slowly withdrawing from nicotine, so it lasts longer, but is less intense. You have to work not only on the physical addicition, but the social and psychological addiction as well. Try to make a complete lifestyle change. Take it one day (ok one hour or one minute ) at a time. Delay-Distract-Drink Water- DO SOMETHING! Anything to keep your mind off smoking. Don-t be a slave to the habit. You can do it and if you relaspe, that is ok. Keep trying. Good luck, God bless, and keep trying.
ITS NOT BIG DEAL.EVERY TIME YOU LIKE A CIGARETTE DRINK A GLASS OF WATER OR RUN 200 YARDS..
It will only get easier if you have Jesus in your heart... he burned on the cross so you have the freedom to do what you want with your body. Repent and start reading the bible on a regular basis. Let Jesus substitute as the death sticks in your life.
No idea.. I-m not a smoker, but wanted to say congrats and keep it up!

What is the quickest, most efficient way to quit smoking? -

I have been smoking since I was 15 and Im 32 now. I want to give up smoking in the next five days without patches or nicorette if possible. What are my options ?
You could always try hypnosis.
use the nicotine patches. the medical literature supports this as the quickest, fastest and safest along with the most tolerated method to quit smoking.
Someone else can give a better answer to that question than I can.

Lots of people are unable to quit smoking abruptly. I have a suggestion in case your 5-day plan doesn-t work.

Stop thinking of yourself as a -smoker.- Instead, think of yourself as a -quitter.- Some days you may be a quitter who is smoking, but most days, you can be a quitter who is either smoking less or not smoking at all. If you keep thinking of yourself as a quitter, you-ll eventually become a quitter who almost never or never smokes.
i am als a smoker i started t smoke when am 19 now iam 28 and onemoth back i quit smoking.
The simple thins i did was i went to a temple and promised my self thatiam not going to smoke. And since then i never smoked.
b4 this i tried all the alternatives but everything failed.
so be strong dont listen to ur heart listen to ur mind and at this instant make up ur mind that u had quit smoking.
and its all done.
WISH U ALL THE BEST MY FRIEND.

Just quit smoking after 5 yrs. I am 24. Its only been 4 days but it seems like its harder to breathe, like my lungs are coayted w mucus? Is this normal, has anyone else experineced this?
Yeah.

It takes actually 15-20 yrs for your lungs to clear!

I-m 25, I quit a little over a week ago

Good luck!
Yes, it is harder to breathe. The difficulty is that your lungs begin producing mucus again after you quit smoking, but because your cilia are dead (they will eventually come back) your lungs cannot get rid of the mucus. Your doctor might perscribe albuterol to help you with this.

Yes, completely normal. Your lungs are trying to clear themselves of years of gunk. It-s not unusual to get a long running cold either. Stick with it though you-ll feel the benefits in a short while. Food will taste better, your sense of smell will improve and non-smokers won-t mind being around you! You may put on a little weight but I-d go with that and deal with it later. It-s because your whole body including your digestive system is working better. Just don-t substitute sweets.
I know that when a friend quit smoking he did have a really bad cold. We figured it does take a bit of time for your system to reajust. It-s wonderful that you have quit. I applaud you. Clap--Clap--Clap. You will be healthier, better looking (if that-s possible) especially without a cigarette in your hands or mouth or breath, richer-richer-richer and smarter because you are giving your brain cells oxygen.

Keep it up. This is the best thing you can do for yourself.

Ditto to all you smart quitters. I applaud you also.
Yes, I smoked for 3 yrs and quit and I had chest pains and difficulty breathing for months. I also coughed stuff up every morning but I didn-t do that much while smoking. Once u stop smoking ur lungs begin to clean themselves out. That could be why there-s difficulty breathing. Your lungs aren-t only coated with mucus but they are coated with tar and a buncha crap from smoking. Just drink alot of water and take deep breaths when u feel it-s difficult 2 breathe. Also see a doctor and have your lungs checked out...just to be sure!
yes. i quit a year and a half ago. it does take some time for your lungs to heal. what helped me was i ran and did the tread mill. it was so hard!!! it made me cough and bring up all that mucus. it seems like once my body got rid of that mucus, i felt so much better!! good luck.

http://www.lungusa.org/site/pp.asp?c=dvL…

give it 2weeks, u should be breathing more fresh air then ever. ull love that early morning sweet air, ur diet will increase so keep tha in mind
You-re probably going through withdrawls and your lungs are beginning to heal, but check with your doctor..you-ll be fine. Quitting smoking is the best thing you can do for yourself :)
Drink lots of water and walk 30-60 minutes every day. You-re body is in shock, so to speak. What you are experiencing is quite normal. Congratulations on quit smoking!!
Yes it is normal. Your body is now trying to detox itself. Also get a pneumonia shot.
No thats definitely normal, your body is just getting used to not smoking :D
Thats how my auntie was at first too
it-s a mind over matter thing..... that-s just your body trying to make you think that you need to smoke to breathe well.
yes so chew on something like gum so u dont have to worry about your breath.
Is it normal to have harder breathing at 1st after quitting smoking? -

What withdrawls should I expect from quitting smoking? -

I am quitting smoking cold turkey. I smoke about a half a pack a day and I am a little worried about what I will experience. If anyone has done this and can tell me a little of what they went through that would be great. Thanks
symptoms can possibly include headaches, irritability(the overwhelming feeling of wanting to kick the sh!t out of anyone or anything), nicotine cravings, anxiety, fatigue, depression, and weight gain.
and insomnia, However, given you smoke only a half a pack a day, the symptoms should not be as intense or last as long as someone who smokes more.

Check out
http://familydoctor.org/online/famdocen/…
This is a smoking quiz which will help you understand why you smoke and what you will experience when you stop. It also provides tips on how to handle your quit.

Good luck!

How do you quit smoking when your spouse smokes? -

I really want to stop smoking before it takes a toll on me in any way. I hate the smell of cigarettes on my clothes and the transfer from my sheets to my bedding. We don-t smoke in our home except the bathroom. The main problem is I-ve tried to quit before (I smoke half a pack a day) but my DH smokes two packs a day and when he smokes when he gets home it makes it hard for me to quit. What do I do and/or what-s the best way to quit?
First thing is give yourself some self confidence to quit the smoking. After that you should know what are the problem when smoking and advantages of quitting smoking, then say the way. Some easy way is to use whenever willing to smoke means chewwing gum, and tablet is available it gives the effect of smoking. Take herbal anti smoking products. When mind is ask to smoke take small pencil and imagine that it is cigarrete and smoke it. Definitely you will stop the smoking habit. ok all the best try these tips now itself my dear friend.

there is no easy way to do this, if you truly want to quit you will. You need will power. Start cutting back to a couple a day. Than eventually cut them all out. Find something to do to substitute smoking, every time u think about smoking chew some gum.

It will be 100x more difficult to stop when you are living with someone who smokes...but if u want to quit u will do it just have confidence and will power!
That is how I started smoking. The wife smokes and it just gave me the urge to start. I will not be able to quit until she does hopefully soon. Good luck.
You need to get DH to stop, then you will be able to follow along.

I have been smoking for the past 20 years. i want to know how i can quit. please i need answers
Billy, please read The Easy Way to Stop Smoking by Allen Carr. I haven-t had the urge to smoke since I finished it. It-s amazing, check out the reviews of it on Amazon.com to get an idea from other smokers. You have to read this book, it changed my life.
Check out Quit Assist,

Family Doctor,

http://familydoctor.org/online/famdocen/…

and Nicotine Busters,
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Nic…

All have a wealth of information on smoking cessation aids, tips and techniques for quitting, support, etc.

Good luck to you!!!
One of my friends successfully quit, after a few attempts. He finally found something to really motivate him to quit (health for himself and his family, saving money). Then he used stuff such as nicotine gum, as well as getting a strong support team (family, friends, church affiliation). Had to start finding other habits to do instead. He did gain a little weight, but started exercising more and watching his diet, so not too bad.

Another person got motivated because of constant pressure from his family and also because he wasn-t allowed to smoke in or around the house whenever he visited the grandkids. Also, even not allowed to kiss them if he smelled like cigarettes, -cause the grandson had bronchiolitis (breathing problem). He took the way of slowly decreasing and finally stopped completely when he had grandkids.

There are clinics and hotlines for smokers trying to quit, and support groups. But I would say the main thing is to find your motivator, and make sure you start making new good habits.

P.S. if all your buddies/family members are smokers, it will be VERY difficult. Maybe find a buddy who wants to quit just as much as you, so you can support each other, and encourage when you get weak.

Ive just quit smoking after 8yrs of heavy smoking.? -

I just quit smoking last Monday cold turkey after smoking heavy for 8yrs. i cant sleep at all I have maybe gotten 10 hours of sleep since mon. till now. is this the reason why?
Probably, but don-t give up!
As you are aware smoking is... the extent of how bad it is, is inexpressible, so persevere and if you struggle use patches. I think that would be better than just stopping altogether, at once.

Good luck!
i-ve always heard that you-ll sleep a lot if you quit cold turkey. but i-d bet that why give it a couple more weeks, good luck
Could be. Try taking some over the counter sleep aids. Good for you to quit smoking. Now keep it up!

This method works for me and is the only money back guaranteed.
I quite smoking 2 years ago

Get the Facts
Easyway, founded by Allen Carr in 1983, has the highest independently verified 12-month success rate (75.8% for a smoker completing the program) of any quit smoking technique and a 90% satisfaction rating.

Compare Easyway to other methods and see for yourself why Easyway is called “The Cadillac of quit smoking methods.”

The Allen Carr Method
HOW THE METHOD WORKS

Using psychotherapy, the method works in the opposite way to the “willpower” method. It does not concentrate on the reasons the smoker should not smoke : the money, the slavery, the health risks and the stigma. Smokers know all that already. Instead it focuses on why smokers continue to smoke in spite of the obvious disadvantages.

It is fear that keeps smokers hooked!

Fear the smoker will have to give up their pleasure or crutch. Fear the smoker will be unable to enjoy life or handle stress. Fear the smoker will have to go through an awful trauma to get free. Fear the smoker will never get completely free from the craving.

The Method removes these fears
Smokers quit with the Allen Carr Method as happy non-smokers, not feeling deprived but with a huge sense of relief and elation that they have finally achieved what they always wanted….

TO BE FREE!

What about the terrible withdrawal pangs from nicotine?

The physical withdrawal from nicotine is so slight that most smokers don’t realise that they are addicts. What smokers suffer when they try and quit using other methods is the misery and depression caused by the belief that they are being deprived of a pleasure or a crutch.

The Allen Carr Method removes this feeling of deprivation.
It removes the need and desire to smoke. Once the smoker is in the right frame of mind and they follow the simple instructions, the physical withdrawal from nicotine is hardly noticeable.

No Gimmicks!

The Method does not use any gimmicks, useless aids or substitutes. No nicotine gum, patches, lozenges, tabs, inhilators or nasal sprays! No needles! No lasers! No drugs! No herbs! No shock treatment!

The Allen Carr Method is successful because:

It removes the smokers’ conflict of will.
There are no bad withdrawal pangs.
It is instantaneous and easy.
It is equally effective for long-term heavy smokers and light smokers.
You need not gain weight.
You will not miss smoking.

Medical Endorsements

A personal view from Professor Judith Mackay MBE, JP, FRCO (Edin), FRCP (Lon), World Health Organisation Advisory Panel on Tobacco and Health

“I have no hesitation in supporting Allen Carr’s work. Many clinics use some of his techniques but it would appear that few do it in quite such a successful package.”

Carole Johnson, Coronary Heart Disease Prevention Unit, Tyne Tees

“his success rate was such that, when budgets allow, we continue to use Easyway for work with specific groups and individuals.”

Dr Anil Visa BSc, MBBch., FRCA, Consultant – Royal Hospitals NHS Trust – Royal London Hospital

“I have observed the Allen Carr method at first hand and have found it to be very successful and I wholeheartedly support it as an effective way to quit smoking.”

Dr William Green, Head of Psychiatric Dept, Matilda Hospital, Hong Kong

“It is a remarkable fact that Allen Carr, on his own admission a non-professional in behaviour modification, should have succeeded where countless psychologists and psychiatrists holding postgraduate qualifications have failed, in formulating a simple and effective way to stop smoking.”

Dr Martin Jarvis, Principle Scientist, Imperial Cancer Research
Fund and Reader in Health Psychology, University College London

”...I am more than happy to testify to Allen Carr’s enduring involvement and to recognise the value of the kind of behavioural and cognitive support he provides.”

Dr PM Bray MB CH.b., MRCGP

“I was really impressed by the method. In spite of the Allen Carr organisation’s success and fame, there were no gimmicks and the professional approach was something a GP could readily respect. I would be happy to give a medical endorsement of the method to anyone.”

Celebrity Endorsements

-His method is absolutely unique, removing the dependence on cigarettes, while you are actually smoking. I’m pleased to say it has worked for many of my friends and staff.”
Sir Richard Branson

“Some friends of mine who had stopped using Allen Carr’s method suggested I tried it. I did. It was such a revelation that instantly I was freed from my addiction. Like those friends of mine, I found it not only easy but unbelievably enjoyable to stay stopped.”
Sir Anthony Hopkins

GOOD LUCK!
Smoking doesn-t make you not gain weight...
All you need to do is make sure your calories in aren-t more than the calories you-re burning.
Eat right and exercise and you shouldn-t have a problem.
nicotine withdrawl symptoms are mistaken by your body as hunger pangs.
if you know this it should be easier to deal with it. otherwise i suggest chewing your food for a long time, as it tricks your body into thinking you ate more than you have, you feel fuller. drinking lots of water, it can help make you feel full. if you have to eat something, eat fruit, but avoid heavy fruit like bananas for 3-4 hrs before you sleep

How longs does it take for marijuana to get out of your system when you quit smoking? -

i have been a heavy user for years but now have quit and wondering just how long it stays in the system and how to clean it out faster.
It will stay in your system and show up on a drug test for a month. It stays in your system longer than any other drug. There are detox products you can buy at the health food store that work.
It only takes 3 days to clear from your blood stream, but will remain in hair follicles for at least a year.
The damage done to your lungs will clear slightly in 3 months, but the damage is done, and as for brain cells, well they-re dead for good.

Drink cranberry juice and eat fiber.

Congratulations on quitting!
If you have to take a drug test - I have heard six weeks. Some people will tell you that the damage it does to your brain will stay with you forever. Don-t know if that-s true or not.
It takes 3 days for the smoke to clear from your lungs, but that means its 3 days for every joint you smoked... If youve been smoking a joint a day for 3 years, itll take 3 years for your lungs to return to normal.
your looking at about 30 days befor you will be able to pass a screening test
pending on the potencey, anywhere from 2 weeks to 30 days

Do you think guys can quit smoking for a girl? -

ok, my boyfriend of 4 days smokes, and he-s been smoking for about 4-5 years, do you think he-ll quit smoking if i tell him to? he likes me a lot, but i-m not sure whether if he loves me... well, what do you think?
If you hate smoking. Don-t date smokers. That-s just common sense.
Well four days is not a lot but if your close to him as a friend as well as a lover you can ask him; tell him your concerned about his health and you wish to help him quite, that is a better way of going about it rather than -You would quite if you loved me- -3
It-s only been four days. I doubt that he will quit. Maybe you should try it with him and he might really love you than.
4 days? Don-t bother with him, move on.

What are some practical ways to support someone who is quitting smoking? -

What are some practical ways to support someone who is quitting smoking? -

I have heard of -smoking cessation survival kits---any ideas for what to include? How I can I be supportive of my boyfriend-s decision to quit?
Good for him!
I quit May 1, its now been 4 months and 18 days of freedom for me.

Really, during the first week there is going to be nothing you can do to console him if you are a non smoker or if you still smoke. If you are a former smoker yourself, you should be able to tell him what to expect.
The first week is hell. Physically and mentally. I was physically and mentally ill for the first week. The physical cravings go away after a week, but the psychological ones took about 2 months to go away for me.
Now, I still sometimes want to smoke when I get stressed or when I am bored, but its not worth it.
Life is so great being free being a slave to smoking. People who still smoke say that they love to smoke, that its not like being a slave, that they LOVE to smoke. Thats not the person talking, its the person under the influence of cigarettes. If that same person could bring themselves to quit, they would see how much it controlled their lives, and how great life is when you start to notice the positive effects of not smoking.....the increased sense of smell, the improvement in vision, the function of the lungs starts to be greater, the pulse returns to normal, the blood pressure decreases, one can feel tingling in arms and legs from increased oxygen, feet don-t go numb when kneeling anymore, urinate less frequently, don-t feel tired all the time, feel like I can think clearer, generally happier, etc, etc.
But this all takes time. It wasn-t instantaneous. And don-t forget that the feeling of wanting to smoke never totally goes away, but it does lessen.
Keep the new reformed smoker away from places and situations where there are smokers around. People who still smoke will not support those who choose to quit, and may encourage restarting. Also, seeing cigarettes, smelling the smoke may induce a quitter to start again.
Encourage the person to get out and get exercise, at least half hour a day.
Don-t let the person sit still for very long. Be sure they have things to keep their mind occupied.
Don-t get the quitter to aggravated.
If the quitter must call off from work during the first week, so be it. I had to call off due to how sick I was from quitting. NO JOB is more important than your health.
Good luck.

PS - I think all of us -ex smokers- need to band together and really get the message out there about quitting, and how we succeeded. Keep talking about it. Put in people-s faces. If we do it enough, and in the right way, perhaps we can someday have a smoke free society.
Cinnamon suckie candies are helpful, or you can also call 1-800-NO-BUTTS, so he can get hooked up with the patch to help him quit smoking also. The call and the patch are free. Wish your boyfriend good luck, and try not to make such a big fuss about his not smoking and if he ends up smoking anyways, don-t get to hard on him if he ends up smoking anyways.
thay need to keep bezzzzzie. the more thay do the less thay smoke. im a smoker and if i do thing i dont smoke. and if im not around others that are. its really hard on them thay get upset over nothing so over look what thay say thay dont really mean it. just be a friend.
Get him on a good program with nicotine gum or the patch. Make sure he-s talked to his doctor about options.

Take him places where smoking is not an issue. For example, if you like to bar-hop or go to casinos, those are harder places to avoid smoking than in a movie theater.

Get some exercise with him. Studies show it helps reduce cravings.

Take him out or make him a great meal. Gives him oral sensation without smoking.

Keep encouraging him to stick to his resolve and be patient when he-s frustrated.

See if you can get him to take up gum-chewing as an alternative.

Good luck.

Quit Smoking and have questions about how I should feel? -

I have stopped smoking, 4 days now but seems a century, I hurt worse in my chest and lungs before I stopped smoking, is this normal, does anyone know the side effects I will feel after quit smoking?
Hang tough. It is very hard to quit, that-s no b.s. When I quit For the 1st couple months smoking was about all I could think of. Even months after that I would have very vivid dreams about smoking. Hard, but so worth it. Best of luck.
I quit smoking in January of this year with the help of Chantix. With the exception of 1 ciggarette on Memorial Day weekend I have been smoke free, good luck to you. I think what you may expirencing may be more mental than physical. I swore I couldnt breathe but it was because I was so anxious all the time from not smoking. I can tell you it is a battle, even now with how many months under my belt I still have that craving, sometimes I see someone smoking and can picture myself drop kicking them, taking their smoke and giving in. So please stay strong, get lots of gum and suckers to help with the craving, and if you havent tried Chantix, see your dr. I was a 23 year smoker and could not have quit without it but I can say I will be a non smoker now for life. It-s amazing when you quit you truly realize how bad we stunk.
Your body will be adjusting to the fact it is no longer inhaling cigarette smoke. It is all perfectly natural and nothing to worry about. Your pains will be gone within a few days.

I bet you have heard that quitting smoking is the hardest thing you will ever do. Your body will not function properly, you won-t sleep or eat, you will get the shakes etc etc

Trust me when I say these are all lies. When I quit I was waiting for all these things to happen but none of them ever did. The only thing I felt was the occasional wanting of a cigarette. As time goes on this passes and quicker than you think too. The longer you have stayed smoke free the easier the quitting process becomes.

There are no real negative side effects to quitting, only positive ones. You have made the right choice, believe you can quit and you will.

Good Luck and Good Quitting
Your body is trying to make you go back by making you feel sick. Do not forget that all those killer chemicals are leaving your body. Be bigger and better then the drug. My friend died recently from lungcancer and she was a light smoker. Be strong. Take it one day at a time. I used the patch to quit.
good for you i am at 4 days as well. My chest hurts too, but like a lot of people have said, i think its tar and all the other crap. good luck and don-t give in. I went cold turkey how about you??
Its probably your chest and lungs trying to heal. Sounds like your on the right track. Keep it up its one of the hardest habits to kick but the payoff outweighs all.
I felt like that too. I was told it was all the tar and crap loosening up. You-ll probably be coughing up and spitting out some gross stuff soon. Congrats on quitting!
Jet tough it out. It is better for you in a long run when you quit smoking.

I quit smoking cigarettes and now ive gained a lot of weight...? -

How can i get rid of it.
I know about exercising, but its so hard to get out and do it.

Im just having problems motivating myself.. and i-m really depressed about it. I-ve even thought about taking up smoking again.
and i really don-t want to cause it was so hard to quit.

Any help would be appreciated.
Vices, addictions or whatever you call it, it-s all in the MIND. It is your GRAY MATTER over your body. Meaning that the mind or your brain should have control over your body at all times. As you have said, you were able to quit smoking cigarettes, so you can also control your weight. Just how you fought the cravings for nicotine, then you could also fight your cravings for fattening food stuff plus the proper exercises needed for a slimmer, firmer and healthier body. Remember IT-S ALL IN THE MIND!!!!!! You did it once, you can do it again!!!!
The same way you lose any weight. Eat less, move around more.

Final decision to quit smoking?(ex smokers only)? -

i finally decided to quit smoking.i tried a lot before and didnt succeed , but im determine this time , and i tried doing it cold turkey but didnt work out . did anyone try the gum or patch and it worked? which is better and affective more? and should i use them only when i feel like smoking ? its my first time to try and i would like some good informations about both .thanks :)

and if u could also add ur own experience of using any of the patch/gum id really apreciate it
No matter what item you choose you need to be able to make a true committment to quit successfully. I quit some years ago during a divorce thinking if I can quit now I will never smoke again. I had tried a few times but not successfully and realized I had not made a full committment to do so. Once I made that decision I was successful. In more recent years I witnessed my husband trying to quit very unsuccessfully using the patch, and using it again and again. Finally his blood pressure was a major issue and he began working his way to quitting and set a target date but was able to quit before the target date and was not using the patch. As an aftersite he finally discovered what my phrasing -true committment- really meant. It is not to say it is easy but it is easier if you have made the true committment to stop. I wish you and anyone else luck in quitting and the strength to make a committment that will truely change your life, your health and affect your loved ones.
The patches worked for me, but I needed them for 6 weeks rather than the regular 4 weeks. You put them on and leave them on for 24 hours. They really keep you from jonesing real bad for a cigarette. Patches and prayer-worked for me.
I quit smoking using several different ways. I tried cold turkey, also was on the patches 3 different times along with a support group which I learned a lot from.. And made a lot of new friends ! On October 24,2007 I started taking Chant-ix, yes it-s expensive but very worth it ! Read everything you can find about quitting smoking.Knowledge is Power ! you can go to sites like why Quit.com or American Lung Association has a wonderful on-line quit program, it has a lot of exercises that you do . It really is very helpful ! Good Luck to you, Janie
good decision!

i quit using everything available!!

first off for me patches were vital! you wear them all day everyday not just when you want a smoke,

if with the patches on you still fancy a cig have a piece of gum or use an inhalator which are so useful if you have a big thing for holding a cigarette,

you will find a mix of products that will work best for you

good luck you can do it!
I quit smoking 4 years ago and I did it with alot of prayer and also, I took my smoking hand, (my right hand), and licked my thumb, forefinger and middle finger and rubbed them in the bottom of an ashtray and let the ashes dry there. Every time I went to light a smoke, the cigarette(s) not only smelled like the ashtrays bottom, it tasted like it also, you taste what you smell and the smell of an ashtray is like that of one of those much used sani-huts, - TERRIBLE !!! The gum and the patch don-t - repeat, - DON-T work, either quit or don-t, (but that depends on the person). The first three,(3), days are the worst and the hardest,Try what I tried, and you will hate the smell of cigarettes afterwards, I do and I started smoking when smokes were only .47 cents a pack! WAY back when, in the mid-early 1970-s, - (1974). Shoot me an email and let me know how you-re doing and I will talk you out having a smoke, when you think you need/want one. Peace and the best of luck to you and the BEST decision you-ve made in a long time.

Yes, I will pray for you. I smoked for years and quit about 7 years ago. I would cut straws the length of my cigs and puff on them. I would also take used cigs and put them in a jar of water with a lid. Everytime I wanted to smoke, I would smell the jar contents. I know this is gross, but it helped me. Good Luck Honey...You can do it.
Sure thing! i know how u feel because my mom has a simular problem

If I quit smoking now, will my lungs be regenerated by 2016? -

If I quit smoking now, will my lungs be regenerated by 2016? -

Hi, I have been smoking for about 6-7 months now, and I just found out that my sport made it into the 2016 Olympics. I was wondering if my lungs would regenerate by that time, as I would like to make it into the Olympics?
Your lungs will be back to normal in less time than you think, and certainly by 2016. I assume that you are less than 35 years old, because of your interest in joining the Olympics. So your body will repair itself with training in less than a year. It is widely belived that if you quit smoking by 35 that five years later you will not have any indication that you have ever smoked a day in your life.
It depends on how much you smoke. But usally, your lungs never repair. You will always have that in your lungs. If you stop now, you may be able to make it, but your chances arent very good if your wanting to get all the toxins out of your lungs. There Permanent. You may even have lung cancer by now.
it depends how long you have been smkoking? and if long then NO WAY! your lungs are scared for life filled with that crap. If you havent been smoking for long then you could...but still you will have a worse chance then a person that does not smoke.
It takes 7 years for lungs to return to ideal condition.
yes since u didnt accumulate as much tar as other ppl that smokes for long term and prob itll heal in like less than a yyear? or mayb 2
duh
yes
yes ..but a little scad . do it

What is the easiest, most efffective way to quit smoking?? -

I quit over two years ago by going cold turkey. I used little jawbreakers to fight urges. After the first month or so, it became much easier. Now I don-t even think about it. Have confidence in your ability to do this. You are strong enough to break this addiction and you will feel great about yourself when you do. Good Luck!!
chew a lot of gum to keep your mind off it and set small goals towards one big goal.
read books about lung cancer
view the photos of the organs affected as a consequence of smoking

I am not a smoker, nor will I ever be one, but the fastest way is to get laser treatment. It doesn-t hurt one bit and only costs $300, which if you think about it costs WAY less than cigarettes. If you don-t know where to get laser treatment then look in the phone book. If you still can-t find some then I recommend doing the gum. Thank you for trying to quti smoking...it could possible save your life and our Earth!!
Hi,
I really empathise with you, I quit my 20 a day habit in a pain-free way this time last year!
No stress, no cravings, no weight gain, no pills, patches or gums.
The program I followed was recommended by a friend and now boasts a 90% success rate and is 100% fully guaranteed - can-t say fairer than that

All the best..
go cold turkey and lock yourself in your room for a few days. no human contact, ecspecially no sex
My New Year-s resolution once again.

I have stopped several times, I won-t lie to you, it-s very hard but
if you are determined you will succeed.

I tend to do well with the nicoderm patch and drinking lots of water
when you get an urge.

Good luck, maybe we can do it......it takes several attempts.
What is the easiest, most efffective way to quit smoking?? -
