How do I quit smoking?? -

Ive been smoking a little over a year and want to know how to quit. Everyone around me smokes so that makes it hard. Specially when smoking is like bonding time with my brother and my grandma.
Nicotine Gum helped alot for me. but then suddenly i ran out, and it was terribly awful withdrawal for about a week. then it kind of got a little better gradually. You could buy nicotine patches.....or nicotine gum or lozenges. There is a medicine called Chantix.....it substitutes for nicotine in the brain, binding to the nicotine binding sites. It might help you, because it can eliminate some of the withdrawal effects. It acts like nicotine in the brain. Your doctor might prescribe it.....or you could try Wellbutrin. but be aware that both have side effects. Wellbutrin can help because it is also an antidepressant, but it can cause some anxiety. Chantix has more negative effects, and has been associated with depression and mood disorders. Probably a good thing to do would be to get a low dose of Wellbutrin (doctors call it Zyban for smoking cessation) and continue to smoke/use nicotine gum......and gradually start weaning off of the nicotine. Usually, 1 piece of 2mg nicotine gum is equivalent to in between 1-3 cigarettes. nicotine gum is alot cheaper to purchase online....you can get 90 4mg pieces for about 15-20 $. its more expensive at the store. chamomile tea, or other relaxing herbs can help with smoking cessation. if you do choose to try wellbutrin, make sure you start out with the lowest dose, and don-t stop smoking immediately. do it slowly...... wellbutrin is a nicotinic antagonist. it does the opposite of nicotine in the brain. however it has antidepressant and stimulating effects, releasing dopamine and norepinephrine like nicotine.
what do you smoke? whats your phone number?
