What is the best way to make your mother quit smoking ? -
let her know that smoking is really bad for her health and let her know that it bothers you when she smokes...explain to her the type of health problems that caused by smoking...my mother used to smoke..and we always tell her to stop smoking...we let her know that its a bad habit...that we care about her..and not ready to lose her as our mother..and its been 4 years that she-s a smoke- free...
Unfortunately, you can-t get your mom to quit. She has to want to quit. I used the patch and worked well. The kit came with a diary to find out when/why you want a cigaret. Also, diary tells you to treat yourself to something. Suggest buying your mom a day at the spa if she quits smoking for 30 days.
she-s got to want to do it. but if you tell her she is cutting your life short for her convienence is pretty selfish, and you might miss out on your grandkids weddings because you have second hand lung cancer because of her maybe she will feel guilty enough to quit.
see if you can find some other long white round things your mom will like sucking on
Well you can-t make her, no one can force someone to do something but you can try guilting her into stopping by giving her the statistics about lung cancer from secondary smoke. Dana Reeves, Christopher Reeves wife died a few months ago from 2nd hand smoke from working in a restaurant when she was younger, she was not a smoker and a very health conscious person. Make a list of all the people your mom might know that died from cancer and secondary smoke. Tell her how you hate her exposing you to health risks. My mother was in the hospital from pnemonia many times until the last one, she finally did quit but not before it damaged her for the rest of her life. I hope your mom does stop.
hide her ciggs or tell her how it makes you feel
I have the same problem.........sorry I really think there-s nothing we can do. The only thing i-d say is to be supportive of them when they decide to quit and don-t pestor them(I have to work on that)
u cant MAKE her!, she has to really want to and that is her choice, not yours.
You can-t make you mother stop smoking, she has to want to stop smoking.
They sell little kits at the drug store that have a plastic cigarette shaped tube and nicotine cartridges. They help you quit because you still get the hand to mouth thing..and you also get a bit of nicotine...but you aren-t actually smoking. After a while you just puff on the plastic cig and don-t bother putting another nicotine cartridge in...so you are just puffing air. It really works...I have tried it.
Your mom is her own boss. I know you care for her but there is not much you can do - sorry
tell her that for every pack of cigarettes she smokes in a day she will loose 2 teeth in 10 years...is a fact... but overall she needs to be the one wanting to quit
You cant make her quit smoking honey. All you can do is make sure she is well educated on the dangers etc and offer her all the support she needs to quit, the rest is up to her.
depends on how old are you and how old she is. when i was bout 5 i have nagged my mom to quit smoking, then when i got to about 16 and started smoking. she sure didnt like that, but then i guess my father was concerened with my health and made a bet who will quit smoking, he quit and i continued but i did stop after awhile and now im smoke free for good couple of months
Let her know how much you love her and are there to support her. Let her know that you need her! It doesn-t hurt to keep alot of gum and hard candy for her to eat on hand either.
u cant
it is her choice
if she wants to live long enough to see you grow she will quit but there is nothing you can do
sry
you starty smoking also more than she already does.
