Looking for strategies to quit smoking? -

I-m up to 3 packs a day. I can barely breath, and I-m having to panhandle to pay the rent. I-d like to hear how those of you-ve quit did it.
You are displaying the symptoms of someone who is bound by a strong spirit of addiction. You will need a serious lifestyle change to be free from that . Once in Israel, I encountered a lady who lived just by the Armenian quarter who had that same problem. Most times the spirit had already defeated someone in your family and is defeating your family for generations. You are going to have to get professional help. Boaz.
I quit for a month using the Commit lozenges and felt no serious withdrawal.
Some of my friends who have quit smoking say that the patch is the way to go. THis helps with the nicotine cravings. Other friends swear by the gum b.c it gives you some thing to do (chewing) and that will not only help with the cravings for nicotine, but will also help with the habit aspect of smoking where you just smoke b.c it has become habit.

ONE THING: dont hang around with people who smoke in the first couple weeks of trying this. that is one sure way to pull you back in.

Hope things go well for you.
when i quit it was starting to hurt my lungs and i had pnumonia several times, sooooooo had to quit, i got those sunflower seeds that you have to bite out of the shell, i still craved the cigerettes as this is an addiction, i got over it but it takes a long time.........you have to have a very strong mind and stay in control, also you have to REALLY want to stop
get a chest xray that doesnt look right, thats what made me quit, i thought i had lung cancer, but turned out to be old scars from a previous infection. i smoked over 30yrs 2 to 3 packs a day, but i also use skoal in the pouches, for the cravings.but to quit smoking youll either really want to or youll be scared into it, like i was. that was 6months ago.
i think try the niccorete patches or turkey that should help
and try niccorete fresh gum
well you know if you smoke that much cold turkey is out of the question, nicorette gum seems to irritate after awhile, patches causes heart attacks, hynotism may make twist your thinking and you may be head strong and not except it and waste money, accupuncture I heard works but having a millions tiny needles stuck all over your body sounds spooky, so now I hear some kind of flower (passion flower) is used I still need to look that up and see how it works?
