How long after quitting smoking till the lungs change from gray to pink again? -

I have been quit for almost a year, and recently I came across some horrifying pictures online of smoker lungs. They were dark gray, almost black in color and looked just awful. So my question is, after a year of not smoking, have my lungs cleaned up and are they back to pink color? or how long does this take? (I smoked for 6 years before quitting) Thank you.
lungs start to heal after a year and they are usually healed in approx 5 years, and that too IF your job is not very highly dusty like asbestos or something chemical ( factory job)

and good luck on quitting, many are not as -strong - as you are.
lungs are,nt pink, you clot.they are grey/whitish if they are clear, and black/brownish if we smoke a lot, anyway if you have stopped completely from smoking, then the lungs should begin to clear within a year, then carry on clearing afterwards.Unless your work enviroment consists of dust or material fibres, Of which the lungs hang on to these fibres forever and dont clear away.By the way be proud of yourself for giving up smoking, wish i could, or had the strength you,ve had.
It depends on your age. If you are still growing tissue then it will take ten years to repair your lungs. Im not sure how long it takes to repair your lungs if you are in your 30-s or something, but they should heal. There shouldn-t be extreme damage to your lungs, if you are able to jog for a bit without wheezing then you can probbably live to your late 70-s if you dont smoke anymore and have a healthy lifestyle
yea once you smoked it hardened out most of that tissue. You would have to scrape it out. Sure you will regain sense of smelling, and better breathing, you will not return to your formal non smoking lungs.
i-m pretty sure it doesn-t work like that
